Ever since I've moved to San Antonio, I've only gotten manicures and pedicures at Ann's Nails on Babcock. I absolutely love them. They're friendly and professional. I always ask for JOHN! He's my favorite. He's been teaching me their native language. Jesse does a great job on my eyebrows. She's great also with mani and pedi and helps me make decisions because I never know what I want. . I've included the photos that I could find. Don't laugh at my feet. They might not be the best looking feet but I be strutting baby!!!‍ Also, I've never scheduled an appointment and I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. I saw the other 5-star reviews, and that's good for them, but I did not receive that kind of service when I went on Friday. When I was choosing a color and picking up the bottles of nail polish to look at them, I noticed a lot of them were diluted and thin, looking watery at the top. I should have known to leave, but my regular salon was busy at the time, so I stayed and chose a bottle that didn't look like that. The file job on some of my nails was uneven and higher at the sides. They also left the ripples/ridges on my big toes and thumbs, which should have been buffed down more to look flat and smooth. My cuticles were, well, look at the photos. :-( I asked for French manicure, and they didn't use the normal light pink top coat, but a regular top coat that peeled off half my nails the very next day. I didn't do anything to ruin my nail job (no yard work, chores, etc.), but I had to redo my nails for my party. I called to explain and ask for a refund, but I was denied that. I was told to come in so they could fix it, so I'll give them that. read more

Had to leave a review after it's been 2.5 weeks and my shellac is still on. I was even able to keep it on for a proposal that's wasn't expected and that is high quality! I did a walk in during the middle of the week and the staff was a delight. It was my first time getting a pedicure and I was a bit nervous. I chose to get the Green Tea pedicure set and a manicure. The pedicure was very relaxing and I loved it. Getting the pedicure and manicure came with a discount so I would recommend it. Love Ann's Nails. The staff is professional and attentive (and quick to offer a complimentary beverage), their prices are reasonable, and they do a great job with both manicures and pedicures. My personal favorite is the gel manicure, which lasts forever. They also accommodate nail art requests. Rick is very talented at recreating the fun designs I've brought in from Pinterest. Ann's Nails also has a reward program: collect stamps for each visit, and get a discount when your card is full. I've heard they get pretty busy during peak hours (I've never had a problem getting in), but you can call ahead for minimal wait time. Convenient location for those who work in the med center area. I had a wonderful experience at Ann's Nails! I called about an hour ahead of time to schedule an appointment, and when I got there they were all ready for me instead of having me wait an additional 20 minutes like classic salons. Jo Lee (Jolie?) was my manicurist and was EXCELLENT!! She was also so sweet and tentative, and immediately offered water which made me feel very welcomed. I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I have to share since I chose this place from good yelp reviews. I went and got my nails done last week and got gel polish on my fingers and a regular pedicure. Within the same night, half my thumb had peeled off. I went back the next day to get it fixed and they made me wait 40 minutes before fixing ONE finger. I was not pleased that had go to back in the first place, let alone wait almost the full time of an appointment. Now, it has been 4 days and almost every single nail is peeling off. I paid a lot of money for this and gel normally stays on my nails for at least 3 weeks! Also not to mention, when I was getting my manicure - he made three of my fingers bleed and didn't say a word to me. Just kept holding pressure and thought I wouldn't notice? One kept bleeding all night . Very frustrated at the lack of quality for the money I paid. read more

I love this place for eyebrows. They also have really awesome massage chairs. However, I was really disappointed with my pedicure. I had a young man do it and honestly I feel like it looks worse than when I came in. Maybe I'm just one of those weird people that care more about the smoothness of my heel than my polish. But I was really annoyed to pay that much and leave looking like I hadn't had a pedicure in months. I don't get to do this often and I came in on my bday. Feel like I just threw money up into the air and walked off. Eta: so basically their basic pedicure (a pretty standard price around town of $26) does not cover dry skin removal? I've never heard of this before. No other place charges extra to get dry skin off, isn't that like 90% of the reason people get a pedicure? So you charge $26 for someone to remove cuticles, paint nails, and put some lotion on? He may have spent40 minutes but only about 5 of it was on scrubbing. He also never let my feet soak before he started scrubbing. That's when I knew it wasn't going to be a great pedicure. Honestly the managers comment made me more angry. Thanks for the tips, would you like me to list some tips of removing dead skin for customers at a price that everyone else around town does it for? Lol that's super condescending. I can't believe you take pride in charging people $26 and having them walk out the door like that. I also have no idea what you mean by taking a photo. Simply put, He could have just told me "would you like me to finish removing this for five more dollars?" And I would have said yes. If you want to get specific about what was included, it was also listed that a drink was included but nothing was offered to me. The prices are very reasonable for the location, quality of service and variety of services (long list of varying nail services, types of polishes, gels and dips and quite a selection of relaxing pedicures) available. The entire atmosphere is professional and relaxing. No, they may not create some of the over-the-top nail art work you see on reality TV stars, but they can set you up for the office. I recently tried Ann's Nails and am excited to have a new go-to spot. I got a pedicure and dip nails on my first visit. The price is reasonable and you get complimentary drinks (cheers!). My pedicure was awesome and the man who did it had no problem updating the shape of my nails once I pointed out I prefer round to square. This spot was great on communication. My nail needs are pretty basic, but I got exactly what I wanted with color and shape. TERRIBLE time management and they don't keep appointments. I came at 3 pm for a walk in. They were full and told me to come back around 4:30pm and I would be seen. I get back at 4:35pm and sit there for a fee minutes before anyone says anything to me. 10 minutes later I was told that I have to wait 20+ more minutes before they can see me. The old man that was doing my nails was very rude and grumpy. I asked for more shellac color options and he drop 3 heavy books on my lap, I went on to ask if he can do my nails coffin shape he just looked at me after I showed him the picture of the shape I wanted. He glued 2 nails on and I noticed that they were pointing down. they were not straight. He said that's what you wanted!! I told him let me show you the picture again. I showed him the picture and I said this is what I'm looking for. He yanked the nail he had glued on, and said that's what I wanted!!! I walked out. They always have great customer service, I recommend you make an appointment to ensure you get seen. They take walk ins, and if they are busy, they will let you know how long to expect to wait. They have always been friendly and professional. The prices are reasonable and they have a loyalty card. After 10 visits, you get a discount. All the technicians are great. I usually get the $35 package, because it has the scrub, which feels amazing and the paraffin wrap which leaves my skin feeling very soft. if i could give no stars i would. I asked for this design & was trusting the process as im not a nail tech, i wouldnt know exactly how to get my nails how i wanted them only from whatever knowledge i have gotten from videos or past nail sets. The set she tried to finish me off with & charge me 85 for was nothing like what i wanted. when i asked to just get a plain blue instead of the design, she starting going on abt me wasting the past 2 hours and her hard work. when i said i wasn't paying $85 for this set she said completely lost it. she tried to talk to me down to 60 & i said im not paying that, i told her she could clip them & i could finish taking them of because i was not going to pay for the set. i understand the time aspect as im in the beauty field as well but allowing your work to go out like this is just wrong. i left with the lady, who i should mention refused to give me her name, yelling at me saying she was going to call the cops & for me to never come back. i will never be coming back, the work was horrible & the customer service was even worse. I ended up giving her 40 for her time, which even now when i think back i should have given her 20. But i did have to go to a new place to get them fixed & the lady that fixed them did a wonderful job at fixing the shape, thickness & not to mention all of the acrylic stuck under my nail & to my skin from the previous tech. needless to say, i had a horrible experience & i thought it would be a good experience because of the good reviews here & on google. read more
