Was in town for the weekend and needed a manicure. This place was great, someone picked up the phone right away and they said I can come in right away. This was great because I had no time to come later that day or schedule for another day. When you first walk in it appears more like a "speed stop" to sit down and get the job done. And that's exactly what I needed. If you want a luxurious spa experience and spend 5 hours, this is not the place. But if you want to get a mani pedi that will last, this is your spot. Clean, big, lots of staff , convenient parking and location. Well established has been there for years.

So so manicure. Owner did my nails very rushed, did not buff. So she basically painted over all of the nail that should be buffed and the edges of my nails look so unprofessional. She also did not make even coats of the polish. Will not be coming back next time I am in town. read more

Been coming here for years and after today I think its time to find another place. Waiting over 30 minutes to get a half serviced pedi. Im not complaining about the wait since they were busy, but once it is my turn I expect to get full service. The person that did my pedi never filed or buffed my nails, I had to ask them to. they also had my nails all different sizes and uneven. they just threw on some lotion but no massage. even after my nails were painted, you can see that my skin all around it is dry and like it was barely touched. I have a nail that needs to be filed down still, but after asking 3 times I gave up. I have never in my life had to ask for the basics of a pedicure to be performed. it was weird and they all looked at me like I was being picky or extra. then when he was finished he just got up and walked away and left me and started on someone else. In the past I have recommended this place to friends. After today, I would not recommend and would not return. read more

I will never return to this nail salon. I usually drive 15 minutes to Bliss Nails & Spa and they do the most wonderful job and their salon is clean and fabulous! I was in a rush and stopped into Nails etc because I didn't want to make the drive. BIG MISTAKE! I can usually go at least 3 weeks without any chips in my dip manicure but it's only been 5 days and I already have chips! Not only that she had me soak my hands in pure acetone instead of wrapping them with foil like most salons. The salon also appeared very dirty. No wonder the salon was empty. I wish I could give this place zero stars, otherwise I would. My first and last time here. First: the place is filthy. Unless you're looking for an infection, I would stay away from this dump. Their tools are not starilized. They just soak them in a filthy cup. Gross. Second: the lady asked me to pick colors on separate sections of the salon. Oh what nightmare. So disorganized and colors everywhere. I should've known better, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, she ended up charging me 3 dollars more for a longer lasting polish. She didn't say anything about the extra charge. Thridly: the entire family was there, talking loud next to my ear. Annoying as hell. Absolutely horrible experience. Worst mani pedi I have gotten in a long time. The guy who did my mani pedi was the worst. He did them in 20 Minutes and kept looking behind him at the desk to see if anyone else was as waiting. I had not been to this salon in quite a few years and will never go back again. He was in such a hurry to get to the next client that he did a crappy job for me. This nail salon is visually appealing. The decor is nice and there are pedicure chairs for days! However, the wait here is horrible! I happened to come on a Saturday afternoon during a children's pamper party. Now, I consider myself to be a patient person. If you're throwing a party, there will be some delays for regular customers, HOWEVER, when you know you're hosting a special event, how much more so should you be prepared to accommodate someone else? When I was finally taken to a chair, 10 seconds later I was asked to get up so they could accommodate another tot. I told them I was leaving, and they quickly changed their tune and completed my manicure. I'm not sure if this place takes appointments, but if they do, I would highly recommend that you make one before waisting your Saturday afternoon here. read more

You can get a good or a very good manicure here depending on the attendant and prices are fair. Large variety of polishes of all kinds. Today's experience knocked out a star or two. First, I booked an appointment with a good technician and while I was picking colors she left. There was confusion on who was going to do my nails. The gal that did my hands was in a hurry and said that someone else would do the toes. After a more confusion they found someone but when started to trim my nails he cut flesh instead of nail. He insisted that nothing had happened but I was bleeding and it took 10 minutes to stop the blood so I came home hurting, with a band aid, and unpolished toes. They had products to stop the bleeding ( I refused, as I don't know what they were) and plenty of gauze and band aids. Now, I am wondering if I am the only one that's been cut. read more

This salon is HORRIFIC. I have been to this salon twice. The first time I went to the salon I just got a basic manicure, nothing special. The second time I went in I had to get my acrylic/gel nails removed. I got my nails done in Tokyo (known for their exceptional nail services) and the ladies at Nails Etc had no clue how to remove the acrylic/gel on my nails. Honestly, I would have been better off using the foil method (google it if you aren't familiar) on my own. The nail technician did a terrifying job of soaking off the acrylic and filing away the remaining product on my nails. I was left with jagged edges, ridges and a sloppy manicure on top of my bumpy looking nails. I was truly embarrassed to leave the salon with the hack job I received. I went home and fixed my nails myself. The technicians were rude and very rushed, which seemed odd considering the salon was not busy. Another friend of mine had a similar experience and left with a fungal infection.. maybe that is the "Etc" in the name. I have been to numerous salons in the metro-Detroit area, as well as a plethora of salons in the Tokyo metropolis. I am well-versed in nail tech procedure and I would have to say this is probably the worst salon I have been to. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your nail care needs. read more

Just moved to town and tried this place because they said they do acrylic nails. I went in they were so nice the first time and my nails came out ok. However, every visit after, the service and quality of my nails and pedicures became a joke. Pedicures that were 35mins became 30 then 25 then 20 and 15mins - yet they all cost the price!!! Replacement nails put on at 30degree angle( ?!?!) , constant nicks and scratches from the manicurist that drew blood. I felt like my nails had been to war but w pretty polish on them. Final straw was the owner yelling at a customer who dare to bring to her attention the poor quality of her nails. The owner told her she had to sign a piece of paper saying she'd never return if she wanted a partial refund. What?! I came in with an exact picture of what I wanted and was pretty disappointed with the result. Although my nails came with a manicure she told me I didn't need it and left my nails unkept. None of the nails were symmetrical or even. The color was also not applied properly and buy my cuticles looks smudged on and discolored. Nails Etc... AKA Nails AND WARTS (etc dont miss the fine print, warts included)!!!! You can't miss her, she is the lady who owns a dog which sits next to her at the nail salon. She has short hair and has a MASSIVE WART ON HER THUMB. She was servicing clients with an open wart. It is not hard to miss, I noticed it as soon as I sat down. I will definitely say my nails look nice. Unfortunately I cannot say the customer service is nice. From the moment my friend I and walked through the door we rushed. There was a particular gentleman that actually argued with my friend on what she wanted done to her nails! After arguing with her and she explained that she wasn't sure what color she wanted yet he proceeded to roll his eyes and have a attitude with her. Mind you we were 20mins for our appointment. We were followed around the store and badgered if we were ready to pay. I have never been badgered about paying before and it was very unsettling. Had a really great conversation and I was amazed at how nice my nails looked I got a full set of acrylics and they were done perfectly. I feel like I was lucky after reading the other reviews! I went a few months ago and got a manicure. I didn't have to wait at all and my service was efficient and well done. The nail technician wasn't very warm and friendly, but I usually don't like making small talk anyway. My normal manicure lasted eight days, a small miracle! I don't know if it was luck or the manicure itself that made it last so long. They usually only last a few days before starting to chip. This is my go to walk-in place. I don't think I'd bother to make an appointment here but it's fine for last minute mani/pedis. I have no complaints about the staff or the job they do. The staff here has always been friendly and done a fine job on my nails as well as my littles. The only real complaint is that it's more expensive than most places in the area. I just get a simple (and it's always very quick) mani/pedi and here it's $43. I think eco nails only charges $2 more but you get a lot more. read more

I was skeptical of going here due to the reviews but because they were not recent I figured I should give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised! The shellac manicure was A1 this is the first time in a while where I felt it wasn't a rush to finish and get the next person. Bee actually took time to provide me with a quality manicure and I could definitely tell the difference in my nails. They have a huge selection of shellac and it is grouped by brand and shade. I normally go to another salon but they get booked pretty quickly and came to Nails Etc. as an alternative. In comparison to my normal salon Nails Etc offer very low quality of service. I was rushed through in less than an hour for both a mani pedi and was charged more than the other salon charges. The other salon at least takes their time with each client offer top service and a relaxing environment. I will stick to my other salon. read more

Honestly, this place is awful. I had an appointment for my nails on my confirmation, and I was super excited to get my nails done. I ended up waiting 45 minutes before anyone became availible, and I had awful service. The technician cut my nails to the quick, and cut the tip of my thumb with nail clippers. The place was clean, the staff was polite and they took me in right before closing. The place seemed pretty big, so on a busy day I'm sure you can get in and get it. I went to this nail salon about 3 weeks ago as a walk-in on a Saturday around 5 pm. I signed in and was immediately serviced by Vanessa. I told her I wanted a gel fill-in, full pedicure and shellac. She did the fill-in and shellac first. She was very pleasant to talk with and she paid attention to detail, making sure to file and re-file as she detected irregularities. I love how she polished my nails. She blinged out (added rhinestones all over) my ring fingers and she gave a marble effect on my pointer fingers. The final outcome was amazing! The pedicure was very relaxing and she marbled the nails on my big toes as well. Although appointments are not required, I just scheduled one with Vanessa for tomorrow. :-) I have read some of the other reviews and haven't seen one for Vanessa yet. It seems some people had problems with others there re: customer service or actual look of their nails. I can honestly say I loved my experience all around. I LOVE Nails Etc! I have been going there practically since it opened it's doors and have never had anything but a good experience. I have come to know Tu, the owner, over the years and she is an awesome person! I'm not quite sure how she goes about hiring her Manicurists....but whomever does your mani or pedi will do a fabulous job! You may have your couple of favorites.... but each manicurist is well qualified to do an exceptional job..... Tu hires THE BEST! If you happen to get a smudge on your newly polished toes or fingers, they fix you up even after you have left. I am extremely particular about the way Polish is applied. When I have had to go to other places if I'm out if town or just can't get to Nails Etc. on a particular day, which rarely happens, I don't feel satisfied. Nails Etc. fully covers the nail and they look smooth and shiny! The atmosphere is very pleasant and the shop is very clean and cozy. I have referred many people over the years! I see here some people have felt rushed or had to wait. I don't get the "rushed" part at all especially when it comes to payment. They may ask if you would pay before they apply to color to your nails. That's so you don't have to go digging in your purse before they're fully dry and mess them up. As far as waiting...... I've only had to wait a few times in YEARS. Did you ever consider that if a salon is filled and that busy that many, MANY people go there because of it's quality and great reputation? I have to say I don't understand any of the negative reviews. I found Nails Etc over a year ago and am so glad I did. Clean, pleasant space with the largest and most varied polish selection I've ever seen. My daughter and I absolutely love Kathy, Dave and Brian. They are perfectionists and will not let me leave unless THEY are satisfied my nails are perfect. I mess up a nail once in a while and tell them it's my fault, no worries. Even if they have a new client in their chair they insist on fixing the smudge I made. I call that great service. Call ahead to see Cathy, she's often very busy! read more

Selina was a delight I walked in on a friday near her days end not only was she nice enough to stay late she also didn't mind giving me a full set and a pedicure. I thought I would be only able to receive 1 service at that point but she was very nice and didn't mind , now that's customer service! I work at a local salon so I'm well aware.
