This is one of the best manipedi's I've had. Gee was my nail artist and I appreciated how she took her time and really paid attention to detail. She took the time to exfoliate, carefully push my cuticles, cut my hangnails. None of it hurt or was too aggressive and my feet are baby soft today. My fingers are perfectly manicured as well. I got a basic French tip and it's well done. The price was the same an at other places but I'm telling you- they put in more effort than the average salon. I will be coming back. read more

Nail tech hurt me twice, once while trimming the nail and once when trimming the cuticle on the side of my great toe. Do not peel back the cuticle toward the foot when trimming! OUCH!! My reward was to pay $55 for gel removal, nail trim and no polish. I will never go back to Nails 07 in Birmingham. read more

I'm changing this to 1 star because the owner responds to reviews on Google so disrespectfully claiming that their prices are high so they can pay their nail techs. 3 credit card fees on one swipe so you can pay your nail techs? I woke up at 3 am to the feeling of a terrible burning sensation coming from the crevices in between my toes. WTF. Feels like my toes are damn near gonna fall off. Perhaps you should stop reusing dirty equipment. I would say you owe me a 5 minute foot rub for giving me a fucking toe staph infection but we both know I ain't coming back. Used to be my favorite place. Danni and John are AMAZING! I went in today and got scolded by TWO women in front of the entire salon for touching a nail polish bottle. Literally, scolded. Stopped in the Wednesday after Christmas to get a polish change for New Years Eve. It was nice that they were open. There were 3 ladies working, no wait, my manicurist was polite and pleasant, they were playing chill Latin tunes and the service was $12 right in line with other less pleasant establishments. The service here is fine, nothing outstanding. The nail techs are all nice and neat. However, the business practice of charging a $3.00 "percentage fee" for credit card usage, per line item of SERVICE is deceptive. I am fine with a "percentage" fee for credit card usage. But on 3 pedicures (2 adult, one kid) totaling $129, they charged me $8.00. A credit card service is usually in the 3% range which should be $3.87 on a $129 total. Just raise your prices already instead of charging $3 per service for the adult pedis, $2 for the kid pedi. This is ridiculous. When I tried to address this with the employees, their limited authority and limited understanding of percentages results in shoulder shrugs. Calls to management are unanswered. read more

After seeing Nails 07 selected as "Best Nails in Detroit" by Allure magazine, I had to check this place out for myself. Pedicure: 5 stars! The bowls are clean sinks, not jet-tubs. The technician meticulously worked on any rough spots, and finished with a flawless polish application. Two weeks later, my toes still look salon fabulous! Manicure: 2 stars :-( I opted for a gel manicure, which usually easily lasts me two weeks. Even with the light pink that I selected, the application was streaky. After only one week, the tips were already looking worn. Very disappointing! Overall, I would return for a pedicure, but will likely skip the manicure. First time discovering this place, open on the day after Thanksgiving, plus! It was fairly crowded even though we called in advance to see if we needed to make reservations- they said it was ok just to walk-in. They must have not anticipated a rush before lunch. Its a nice lay out with a manicure bar which allows people to chat amongst themselves (rather then individual tables. The little island in the middle has a display of all the colors available. Some of the newer lines of OPI were up (Burlesque), not bad. The pedi seats are comfortable arm chairs, a little too big for those with not super long legs. The shallow basin water gets cold quick though if they make you wait to long. The hot soak is followed by an exfoliating scrub, a minty leg massage, a pumice foot scrub, a hot towel wrap and of course the pedicure. Tenille did a great job paying close attention to her work and its detail. Nice touch. They give you little flipflops and toe seperators to walk around in after its done. They escort you and your stuff to the mssage chair, give you a bag for your shoes and offer some hot tea to drink. Perfect. Great way to spend some time with the girls. This whole company sucks. They treat their customers like garbage and they're about as trustworthy as a Russian phishing website that tries to steal your credit card. They refuse to give refunds, even when they don't actually provide the service. Do not trust this company. Nails 07 is my go to place to have my nails done. Its conveniently located right on Old Woodward (pay the meter, you'll be ticketed -- I know from experience) nestled in by 555 so all you yogis know exactly where its located ;). Nails 07 is pricey, compared to most places, but I happily pay extra because its worth it. First of all, I have yet to wait for a service there -- they're usually waiting for me to pick a color. Speaking of color, they have the most up to date polishes and they're ...*gasp*...ORGANIZED! The techniques they use are above par: lemon water for soaking, sofa chairs for pedis, and real attention to detail at all times. One of Nails 07's biggest selling points, for me, was their professionalism. Everything from the atmosphere to the way you pay your bill is catered to the customer. It's calm, clean, quiet, and all around nice. When youre used to nail salons with,"10 minute" waits (that are never just 10 minutes), gossipy staff, and being rushed by your manicurist, Nails 07 is a total breath of fresh air. I took my friend there as part of her birthday experience. The good: Fast service- no appointment needed and no wait time. Neutral: Not very personable but not unfriendly. Room for improvement: Cash tips ONLY. Probably perfectly fine if you just "want it done" and are in a real hurry but don't expect a pampering experience. No hand massage- ALSO no nail dryers. I will stick with Nails 07 in Royal Oak from now on! I decided to try the one in Birmingham for a mani/pedi I needed for a wedding I was in... I didn't notice till I got home because I didn't think I"d need to look but the woman who did my pedicure had gotten polish not only on my nails but on the tips of my toes as well. Not to mention during my entire pedicure her and another woman working there were laughing at another customer who had decided to relax and close her eyes for a bit. Then when that same woman filed my finger nails she butchered them, normally I like my nails squared off, she didn't even ask she just did them how she wanted... some were square, some were rounded and some were rounded on one corner and squared on the other. Luckily someone else was called in to do the gel polish the only problem with that I had was one of my nails had a glob of nail polish on it which dried and looked like a growth coming out of my nail. I paid wayyyy to much to have an experience like this. I will not go back to this location! read more

Took my mom and grandmother here to treat them to a mother's day manicures. They were very nice to all of us, but the the color selection felt really limited and the technician rushed through my mani - my cuticles started fraying and the paint started chipping a total of 2 days later. Nice nail salon right off of downtown Birmingham. They have a great selection of OPI and Essie polishes and they even do the new Shellac manicure. They are a bit higher than other nail salons in the area but the are a lot cleaner and the polish is always perfect so its worth it. Only down side is that with the pedicure. I like to have a super duper scrub with mine, but they still do a nice job. read more

I absolutely adore this gorgeous and modern salon. Not only is it pretty and I like to be in pretty places when I am getting pretty, but it's calm and quiet. I got a mani/pedi and I do NOT have nice feet but the girl was very kind, she kind of knew it was my first pedi as I was so nervous to take my socks off. She got right to work scrubbing and clipping away! She tried really ahrd to make me feel comfortable and after lots of giggling and inside jokes with my friend - I looked down and had perfectly pretty feet! Something I have NEVER had before. I followed up with a french manicure version of my cute gold toes. I love that they have a manicure BAR so you can sit and gossip with your bestie to pass the drying time. The nail tech was diligent and extremely sweet. Customer service here is top notch! No appointment needed we got right in! My mani lasted so long I got bored and had to get a polish change. My pedi has lasted for about 2 weeks and still looks super cute! I don't think any other nail salon will live up to Nails 07 - I've already been disappointed with the quality of work at other places...I'll be going back forever - they are now stuck with me! read more

Soaked my nails for 45 minutes and the was asked to leave because my nail shape was too complicated - it was coffin shaped....not complicated at all. I visited this salon on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The space is not as polished as the location in Royal Oak, which is very spa-like. I didn't have an appointment and had to wait for almost 30 minutes for services . Fortunately, I wasn't in a rush and the seating was plush and comfortable. The Nails 07 franchise is exceptionally shady. First off, don't believe the whole "best of Allure/endorsed by Allure Magazine" lie. That's a paid promotion - you buy an ad and they include you in their "best of" section. There's no Allure magazine journalists who think this sketchy nail salon deserves national attention. The management is horrendous. They bill for services that they don't deliver and then have a real "what are you going to do about it?" confrontational attitude. This place is really nice, I didn't wait to be seated for my pedicure, and the tech was very nice. She didn't talk much but that was okay. I didn't know any pricing Information but I also didn't ask, I just told her I wanted a shellac pedicure. When she gave me the bill that was $52 I was shocked. All I got was a basic white shellac pedicure and it was $52. I wish they would have had prices listed somewhere online or in the salon because I probably wouldn't have gotten it. Pretty fancy little nail salon that I wished I'd known about sooner. I've been going to Nails Etc up the road on Maple all these years, but I dig this place a lot. It would be perfect if they had free off-street parking like Nails Etc. Here's the routine: Sign in and indicate the services that you desire (I wanted a pedi). Wander around since no one's at the front desk, because they're all busy working. Take a second to understand the fellow who eventually comes up and realize that he's instructing you to "Pick Your Color." Walk past the bank of manicure chairs, all full, to the polish bar (it's all Essie and OPI, thumbs up) and pick your color. Wait around some more until you're directed to your chair. Be a little sad initially when you realize that the chair isn't a massage chair, but get over it when your nail tech scrubs the cree-ap out of your heels with a pumice and then attacks your calves with an awesome sea salt scrub. You may or may not keep your tech for the actual polish, which is a little weird, but...wait for it...once you are painted, you are led back up front to the massage chair room to let your toes dry out some more. And this, my friends, is the bonus. Their massage chairs are OUTSTANDING. Closest thing to a five-minute massage I've ever had. The fellow came back with my check (like in a restaurant), and came back with my receipt, allowing me to get more of my rub on. I got a gift card for my birthday so I went today. I booked a reservation online last week, and put which type of pedi I wanted (rejuvenating $54) and that I wanted toes waxed ($12). Those prices were listed on the website. I got no confirmation of my appointment, so I called today to confirm. She said she couldn't check now, but to come in and I could get my pedi. I walked in and was directed back to the pedi area (didn't pick polish because I wanted a french). The website notes the following: Guests at Nails 07 enjoy the ultimate therapy for sore, tired feet with foot baths in granite bowls that have no jets, for the top benefits of no bacteria. Cleanliness and perfection are constantly the goal in this updated salon that offers a chemical-free atmosphere. They use hospital grade Auto Cleave, which is used to sterilize instruments in hospitals to clean their own tools. While relaxing in chairs that are soft and shaped like a chair in your family room instead of a typical pedicure chair, the guests at Nails 07 often relax to the point of falling asleep. First, the chairs, while comfy, are not chairs you could fall asleep in, and I miss the massage option. Other reviewers talk about going the a massage chair in another room while their pedis dried - that must've been only available in 2009-2010 because it certainly wasn't offered this time. Second the "granite bowls" are not granite at all. The bowls are white porcelain bowls/sinks. With no jets. Maybe no jets means less bacteria, but I definitely missed the jets. Soaking in warm water that cools quickly wasn't that great. Finally cleanliness - I watched 2 nail techs clean the bowls after finishing their clients. They sprayed some Lysol spray (in a bottle like Fantastic) in the bowl and immediately rinsed with the spray hose and dried out the bowl with a towel they just used on the client, then gathered up the towels and took them to the back. I don't think that disinfected the bowl one little bit. I actually wondered if that's how they cleaned when the health department was inspecting them. I think not. I can't attest to the autoclave of the instruments. I didn't see that at all. While towards the end, but not finished yet, my tech (Tina) went and got my bill and set it on my lap (in a restaurant-type folder). Inside the folder it said in several places to use cash only for a tip. Great - that would have been nice to know beforehand. I don't keep cash on me and had not even a dollar. Ended up having to walk across the street to CVS and pay a $3 fee to make a withdrawal. Tina did a nice job on my toes and feet, but never asked what type of pedi I wanted (she gave me the cheapest basic one) and just started working on me. Also, she did speak some very broken English, but the tech working next to me didn't speak English at all. All the tech spoke to each other in a foreign language. I will go again to use the rest of my gift card, but wouldn't go again after that. read more

Rip off place. They charge $15 to remove a Dip manicure, which takes nothing more than a nail remover soaking for 15 minutes or so. Much less laborious than removing gel, for instance. I won't be using their services. read more

DISGUSTING!! MY NAIL TECH HAD A WART!! I wish I could give negative stars. Do NOT come here. I was running errands and needed a quick mani because the last crappy one I got from their royal oak location was chipping after a week. The guy who did my shellac manicure was horrible. I noticed towards the end of the manicure that he had a freaking wart on the inside of his hand!! I am disgusted. He was touching my hands with his wart with NO gloves and I couldn't see until he accidentally flipped his palms over.... on top of that I watched a woman use a tool on the lady next to me then hand it to him to use on me. I was appalled, I was so in shock I was frozen. The whole time I just wanted it to be over and done with. He seemed like he had never done nails, it took him an HOUR to do a shellac mani (no soak off). That is ridiculous! He also was so rough with my hands. I noticed his hands were shaking (he also had nasty hands, faded finger tattoos and lots of scars) so maybe he was squeezing me so hard to steady his hands but it hurt. He filed me so hard and buffed my nails down to paper thin. He even rubbed a lime on my nails then buffed on top of a wet lime mess when he had already buffed!! THEN when he was doing the shellac he was spending so long on each nail and just leaving my other hand under the uv dryer for random lengths of time. It started to burn my nail beds. Then he yelled at me for taking my hand out. My shellac is so uneven in thickness, nail shape, and nail length. After he was done he filed my nails!!!!! AFTER the shellac, that basically just lifts up the shellac and two days later they have chipped. This place will literally hire anyone off the street and charge you way more than anyone around!! They should be shut down by the health department!! Their nail techs should wear gloves and they should sterilize their tools. Honestly don't ever go here, your health is not worth the convenience. I will be reporting them to the health department and the state board. read more
