We have been coming here for 6 months with my daughter to get her nails done(she is 3). We usually have a great time and the nail tech is nice no problem- that was not the case yesterday I think it was because they were busy. We usually do walk ins and they have never been bothered by us but again they were busy when we came in and I not only had my daughter but the new baby and their grandfather who wanted to see how it all worked. Bad on my part so far- when we entered they saw us and were visibly annoyed- I felt awful but my daughter had been looking forward to this all week(I honestly should have left and came back when it wasn't busy) but we asked if they could do a walk in and I apologized- the lady looked around and then started helping another customer pick out nail polish- we waited patiently for about 5 min- standing there our group looking ashamed- the ladies that the worker was helping asked her to please help us first and she said no- something like we were fine(standing there with baby 3 year old and grandfather) after the ladies left they said it would be a minute- so they could take a walk in- we sat down and I felt even more embarrassed that we were just standing there. They quickly took my daughter back and she got her nails done as the baby laughed and giggled- but his laughs were too loud and I tried to get him to stop laughing but he wouldn't. My 3 year old sits quietly and knows to listen to the staff- when we go to pay they even touch up a little smudge she makes on her thumb. I can tell the nail tech that did her nails liked working with her she was smiling and happily helped- called my daughter honey/ sweetheart. When I went to pay a different woman checked me out and was visibly disgusted that I wasn't paying in cash-after I pulled out my car- in an obviously an annoyed voice she said can't you just pay in cash? It's just $10? I apologized again and she reluctantly took my card- I asked for the nail tech Venmo and tipped her $10 for the trouble. They were nice to my daughter but I felt they were unwelcoming to the rest of my party who was obviously sorry for inconvenience. Please if you come here make an appointment/call do not bring other guests they have limited seating and you have to pay in cash- I think the charge they have to pay for running a card is large and they don't want that- or it's a tax thing? Just try and be as low stress as possibly because these ladies can't accommodate everything. So sorry again- won't happen again read more

I made an appointment and when I arrived and sat down the nail tech told me that she was double booked and couldn't do my nails, very rudely I might add. I then asked if someone had time to just soak off my gelx. It took an entire hour because three different techs came back and forth to keep checking on me to soak them off. I really like this place. I rarely have to wait. Most of them do a great job. The parking lot is easy. Conveniently located. Only issue is there isn't too much of a polish selection. I am extremely disappointed by my experience here. I left with horrible anxiety and feeling like a second class citizen. I called ahead to see if i could get my nails soaked off and shellac put on. When i arrived they were nice and put foils on me. I had a feeling they didn't understand what i wanted so i let them know i have overlay and want that removed and a shellac mani. Well they obviously don't have drills there and i had no knowledge of that going there. So instead of just letting me know they don't have the equipment to accommodate me they were yelling across the salon to each other about me. The woman doing my nails was so annoyed and she was not keeping that a secret. I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed i wanted to cry. All you had to do was communicate with me and i would have happily left and gone elsewhere. Instead i left so upset. Your nail salon is in Birmingham Michigan, people have high standards. Treat people with respect, you are giving a service. It should never have come to this. Went here the other day as a walk in and they accommodated me quickly. Salon was pretty with chandeliers and girly but neat and tidy decor. It was also busy and the other half dozen patrons seemed to all be regulars. I wanted to give this place a good review, but my technician didn't understand or didn't listen to any requests I made. Dry manicure? She dunked my hands in water anyway. Dry pedicure? Forget about it. Of course, my pedi chipped the very next day and my gel manicure lifted and peeled after 6 days when I normally get at least 2 weeks. The prices were reasonable. read more

The staff is very nice and they can do a shellac manicure and pedi in just over an hour. Now that's service! Only downside is that they don't have a very large selection for shellac. Getting my nails done here was not the best experience I've ever had at a nail salon. We called to make sure they could accommodate 2 adults and 2 kid manicures. The person on the phone said they had 3 people doing nothing so sure. When we arrived, we were greeted quickly and directed to select colors and were sent off to stations. The color selection is quite limited, for both regular polish and shellac. The employee doing my nails very loudly stated that she wasn't waiting, she was leaving when her shift was over. It seemed she was talking to another staff member but the timing was pretty rude. She was also rather short with me when I was answering her questions about how I'd like my nails done. I was told she wouldn't cut them because they were too short already. That's the first time I've ever been told that! The water to soak my fingers in was so hot it was painful and she spent most of the manicure complaining to the staff member at the station next to ours. I'm pretty easy going and not bothered but it was a bit much. Nothing seemed to be particularly clean and I just didn't enjoy my experience. Two stars for the standard pedicure I received w/limited color options. That's being charitable. I also stopped in to get one nail repaired that had cracked between manis at my usual place. They don't have dip, so I guess she just glued it and repainted it? Whatever she did cost me $5 (normal price for a single nail repair w/gel polish - no problem here) and lasted about 2 hours (problem!). That sucked, but my main gripe with this place is that the employees are constantly talking amongst themselves while they perform the services. Yes, I know this is common at many nail salons, but why? Like, what other similar service would you expect/accept this behavior from the employees? It's rude, inappropriate, and the antithesis to a relaxing environment. Try Essential Nail Bar downtown. They focus on YOU and providing a professional and relaxing experience. It's more expensive, but worth every penny. I leave feeling relaxed and pampered (as one should) not anxious and as if I've inconvenienced the techs who are constantly in the middle of a conversation (like I'm not even there). And I'll probably be back because it is so convenient, but as someone who has gotten her nails done at many different places, this manicure was adequate but not great. The polish selection was good. The people were nice. The whole thing took about 15 minutes (a plus in my book) but the polish looked a little sloppy, and she didn't do much to actually trim or shape my nail. read more

The first time I went to this nail salon I got my first gel manicure. The tech did an okay job. Their little soaking bowls are not cleaned well. The square block file was frayed and had tears in it, nice place for bacteria to grow. Two weeks later I needed my nails done again. My best friend convinced me to try them again. It was just before Thanksgiving so I called and made an appt. the person that I spoke to took down my name and phone number and appt. time. I told her that I was there 2 weeks prior and had a gel manicure and wanted to get another one. I had done my cooking for the holiday. Taken my kid for a Dr. appt. had everything planned around this nail appt. Oh and I told the person on the phone that I would be bringing my own implements. Seeing their stuff soaking in a glass with cotton on the bottom, just screamed nail infection waiting to happen. Now you get the idea, there was this entire conversation on the phone of what service I had done there before and what I wanted the appt. for that day before Thanksgiving and being with 26 members of my family and friends. I got there a couple minutes before my scheduled time, and they were packed. I informed the woman there that I had an appt. so she looks in her book and sees that yes there was my name and phone number. I am going to assume she was the owner tells me okay please wait about 5 minutes. I tell her okay and that was really pushing it because it was scheduled around my kid's appt. I sit down and wait with along about 10 other women that are waiting also. After almost 20 minutes I ask the woman how much longer because now it was really pushing it timewise. She has me wait another couple minutes. Then calls me over to her chair. I sit down and take out my little bag with my nail instruments and my cash including generous tip, afterall it was a holiday. Then she tells me that "oh you have gel on, you have to soak these for a while, maybe today not so good okay,sorry" I swear that is a quote. Now I am fuming,and tell her that I spoke to the person that answered the phone and when I made my appt. what it was for and what I had done 2 weeks before and even told her who was the woman that did my nails at her establishment. They do not deserve to be in business, I cannot believe that is how an owner yet would treat a return customer. Needless to say I had to go buy some special stuff last minute to get what was left of the gel off my nails and it was costly and some strong smelling chemicals. My best friend won't go there now after I told her how I was treated there. There are nail salons on almost every street in Birmingham and surrounding areas so there are many choices. Glamour Nails should not even be allowed to operate a business. It was offhandedly (little hand joke) The worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I am going to return to the salon I had always used before, they are a couple of miles further, but Glamour Nails is a most disgusting new addition of a business to Birmingham. read more

Went this past Saturday, had a 9:00am appointment, i was ignored till around 9:15, then i was place in a chair with cold water for my feet to soak in. I told them it was cold, she adjusted the water temp, but never checked...it was still cold. This was NOT a relaxing pedicure. When the tech finally started, the whole pedicure took 20 minutes, so rushed and i noticed they are all always checking the clocks. When i left and went outside, i looked at my toes and couldn't believe how awful they looked!! it was like a child painted my toes. Polish all over the skin/cuticles, rough spots, uneven toe nail length, just everything about it was horrible. Went to my sisters that afternoon and my niece looked at my toes and said "you had those professionally done?" They look terrible. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I walked in and not one person said hello, asked what service I was there for.. I stood there for 10 minutes before I finally asked someone how long the wait was, even though they had people available to provide one. Some woman said she had an appointment, but that the lady didn't show up. She continued to sit and try calling the woman over and over, still not paying me any attention. Finally another woman said..."why don't you help her, she's standing here now?" And the lady STILL ignored me. It wasn't until I walked out and got in my car, that the lady ran outside up to my door asking me to come in.
