4 + stars to 2 - 8/27/25 Update : I have been a LOYAL client here for over 4 years every 4-6 weeks through 2 owners, absolutely LOVE my nail tech Olivia, and drove over 20 miles to come to this Salon. My last experience and aftermath with the current owner have driven me to take my business elsewhere. I got squeezed for time for my last appointment and had to skip my "lickety split" mani..which I get with no polish and just a nail clean up. I let Olivia know that we were tight for time and she thought she could get it in..well we didn't and I didnt even manage to to get the lotion or hot towels that were part of my pedi. I was still charged for it, The front desk said they weren't authorized to not charge for it. I had to talk to the owner who they said would call. Well..chased her down on and off for nearly 4 weeks. When I did finally get her, she came at me like a verbal pit bull school teacher. I was clearly off base for asking forgiveness for their "policy". Not what I expect from a business owner!!! Had a disappointing experience involving my daughter with rude treatment from when they walked in. Wrote an email expressing my concern. Had a return call from the owner, who turned out was the person that was being rude. Instead of just apologizing, which is all I was looking for, she turned it into something about her and really never took any of our concerns seriously. Disappointing customer service, especially for an owner of a business. Overall the nails were ok, although I felt they were done better at another local nail bar when she had the same design done last year. I did have a Pedicure done at an earlier time, and that service was fine. read more

I have been a client of Paint's since they opened. Loved the original owner, but love the new owners too. I'm a huge fan of Dazzle Dry (surprised that there are still salons who don't carry it). Beautiful environment, great pricing and non-toxic polishes. Yes please! So relaxing. Truly felt like a Spa setting as opposed to a quickie "chop shop" nail salon. They feature a beautiful line of polish called Dazzle Dry that dries in 5 minutes without any curing, like gel polishes, so much quicker removal, too. They also carry another vegan brand (I don't remember what it was called). As a 1st time customer I was told that the $5 up charge for Dazzle Dry is waived. Thank you! I will be back. I love Paint Nail Bar. Each visit begins with a warm greeting and a selection of beverages. Water, coffee, tea or my favorite a cold mimosa. Let me say the mimosas are not for the week. I recently started getting gel-x and I love it. Regular gel polish normally starts chipping on me within a week. The gel-x lasted 3 weeks. The polish never chipped but my nails had grown so I needed them replaced. I am a germaphobe who washes my hands at least 40x a day and you cannot tell. They also offer passport services which is a monthly plan that also lets you accumulate points. Even though this location is about a 20 minute drive from my home it is definitely worth it. read more

I had such high expectations for this salon... the biggest attraction being the vegan/non-toxic aspect. Now, that is true (and I love that) but unfortunately the results fell WAY short. I went in on a Saturday evening for gel manicure. The technician was great and super friendly, and my nails looked good when I left. But I did notice that she painted it a little above my cuticle, which I didn't love because it looked like new growth itself. However, the very next evening, one of my nails peeled and fell right off! I contacted the salon via email with a picture of what had happened, and they were super accommodating and booked an appointment for me to come back in and get it fixed. So, I went back on Wednesday (4 days after my first appt) and got that fixed by a different technician free of charge. BUT the very next day (Thursday), another one of my nails fell off (I contacted them again via email but heard nothing back), and the next day (Friday), and two more the next day (Saturday). Yep, so by Saturday... just ONE WEEK after my original appointment, I had 4 nails that were bare. As I'm writing this review today (10 days after my original appointment), only 3 nails are still covered in the gel polish. I'm extremely disappointed because it was said that these would last 2-3 weeks with growth being the only real issue. I paid $42 for the manicure and tipped $10 -- so $52 down the drain :( I love the concept of the salon, but unfortunately I will not return again. read more

I have worked with my specialist, Mandy, for 4-5 years now, and followed her here in the last year. My sisters wedding is this weekend, so I was looking for a place to go get my nails done. I usually do my own gel polish at home, but I wanted to treat myself and have someone else do them. I thought Paint Nail Bar looked like the perfect place! It was super easy to sign up and book an appointment online. Upon arrival, the salon is super cute, bright, and clean. I was offered a drink while I checked in, I decided to go with the rose. There were two technicians both working with people, so I sat on the couch and looked through colors while waiting. When I booked my appointment online I made it for 4:15pm with Skylar. I waited for about 15 minutes and then sat down with a technician. Not much talking was happening between us, which was fine. I had an old hang nail that she was picking at and she made it bleed a bit. The polish on my pinky nail on my one hand was acting weird and pulling away from the edges of my finger. She mentioned it to the manager but nothing was done about it and she kept going. When she had finished, it had almost looked like a toddler did my nails. They were mediocre at best, and I could have done a better job. You could definitely tell that she rushed through it and did not take her time. On the way out the manager asked how the pinky nail turned out. She then called over Skylar to fix it. This was the girl who I originally made my appointment with, but she did NOT end up doing my nails, I had no idea I didn't have her until this very moment. Skylar fixed three of my nails, and they turned out way better than all of my other ones. Which is so disappointing, because if I would have originally had her for my appointment, I would have loved my nails! I had to pick polish off of my skin immediately after I walked out of the salon. It is two days after my appointment and the sides of some of my nails are lifting up. Some of my nails you can see streak marks from where there clearly isn't enough polish, and there are just some spots that are missing color completely. This was such a disappointing experience for me! I didn't mind waiting for my appointment, but I did expect to be with the person I booked my it with, not just whoever was done first. It was not at all worth it for the price and unfortunately I will not be returning, which is so sad because it was such a cute place! read more

Where do I even start? Our group had issues with the Paint Nail team originally wanting to cancel our bridal party appointments that were booked over a month ago. We had to call numerous times to follow up and see if they were still going to keep our appointments and the story changed each time of why they couldn't confirm. Now onto the service side of things. Our manicures for the group were quite painful and have left our cuticles and sides cut up. We also had issues with the top coat not being applied to one person fully which we caught prior to leaving. Only to realize another person was missing spots as well. The nail art on all 3 manicures looks terrible and nothing like the photos or art done at other local Paint locations. We will not be back. That being said the Rochester location has different ownership and they deliver consistent manicures with high quality art. read more

I haven't gotten my nails done in a very long time. Due to me not liking the experiences I've had in the past . Ashley made the entire experience amazing. She was very kind and easy to talk too. She kept conversation going and did an excellent job on my nails. 100% I will be going back to get them done again from her. The salon was VERY clean and orderly they also have super cute things to buy upfront. And it doesn't have that weird smell most nail salons have. They even offer mimosas!! I can't give a good review because we never had the opportunity to have any services. We made a reservation for four of us for a birthday and the receptionist didn't take our number correctly (it wasn't even close!) we arrived and they said they couldn't accommodate us. Though accidents can happen, they didn't take responsibility and just gave us excuses. Simply addressing what went wrong and making an effort to make it right would have been an easy fix. This business owner doesn't know about customer service. We will not be giving them a second chance and they lost out on four new customers. I am a huge fan of Paint! The environment is relaxing, the price is unbelievably reasonable for the level of service, all the nail techs I've seen are talented and friendly. Getting a Friday afternoon manicure while wrapping up my work week is my favorite little indulgence. I am not someone who cares about toxicity, but if you are, they only use non-toxic products and they do not do traditional acrylics, so no dust. Her attention to detail and knowledge is unmatched, and my nails last beautifully for 3 weeks. The salon itself is also lovely. For everyday manicures and pedicures (not gel, not acrylic, not mail art) I do not recommend Paint. The service and customer experience were not good. While my manicure was comped due to a horrible procedure (nails were filed too short - one is inflamed, burns and showing blood), my pedicure was fair ... I had to ask to have the polish pooling at the cuticle cleaned up and had to file my toe nails to be straight when I was home. My toe cuticles were never trimmed and a foot massage did not take place. I have no issue spending the money ... as long as the service and experience match the cost. To be fair, I will say my heels were cleaned nicely and the salon did offer to repaint my toes. I just don't feel comfortable going back ... read more

I told the nail tech (Traniece) that I was pregnant and did not want a foot massage since it can cause uterine contractions and a miscarriage. She replied by saying it's only in the third trimester that you shouldn't have a foot massage. So she proceeded to massage my feet and press hard with the callus remover. Then burned by feet with scalding hot wax! I started having cramps after she did this! I asked her to clean under my nails and she barely touched them and said she can't clean the corners of my nails since she's not a podiatrist. Didn't cut my cuticles either. First thing she said to me too when I arrived was "you're ten minutes late pick a color and hurry up so you get your whole service". Nice welcome. Salon wasn't even busy and it was a Sunday so I mentioned parking in Birmingham is not easy to find. Worst pedicure I've ever received and such a rude tech. She also had 5 inch long nails so could barely even give a pedicure! Will never come back. read more
