I feel like this lady played with my nails, they look like a kid did them for their first time. I only wanted a simple as can be pink gel overlay. She did a horrid job working with the gel, had it all under and on my fingernails including my cuticles. She did not clean up the gel or whatever it was on my nails and it adhered to my skin past my cuticles and under my nail tips. So when she got out her dremel under my fingernails, it burned like no other cuz my skin was ripped .The application is extremely thick and uneven. She also didn't give me a manicure. She didn't push back my cuticles, cut any extra skin, didn't cut any of my hangnails or anything. She just filed my nail bed a little and started applying the product. No prep at all. My nail beds were burning at a point and the drill bit was making it much worse. I've been going to this place for 19 years and I'm not sure what's happening but the quality has steadily declined over the years. This lady also burned my eyelid skin doing my eyebrows. And I had to remind her to wax the top of my eyebrows cuz she definitely didn't do that. Just an extremely piss poor experience and after 19 years I'm going to decline to ever go to this establishment again. Not somewhere I would recommend to a friend. I'm super particular about my nails and was hoping to find a salon closer to home then always traveling to Novi. The place is super cluttered. Not the cleanest in that aspect. I had a dip removal and reapplication and wasn't super crazy on my almond shape nails. Also was surprised she didn't first apply a step2 base with powder she just went right into the color powder. My thumb chipped after 3 days... guessing it would have helped to have that base applied. I am from out of town and I came here for my friends birthday. We came in about an hour before closing (since we did not know the hours of the salon). They were able to answer our questions and get us into the chairs quickly. My friends got shellac and I got artificial nails with gel powder. All three women that worked with us were detail oriented and we were beyond happy with the service we received. I wish I lived closer so I could go here regularly. Went with a friend for a pedicure and we hadn't been there before. The atmosphere was less than desirable, fluorescent lighting and dirty floors. The techs that did our pedicures were not friendly and all they did was talk to each other the entire time we were getting our pedicures (not relaxing if you ask me). I have been to Eagle Nail approximately 20-25 times over the last five years or so. There is never a long wait, the techs are competent and I really love the massage chairs! I saw that some complained that the techs mostly just talked to each other but I have found them friendly when I have spoken with them. I understand that when you are working, and it is not your first language, you might be hesitant to strike up a conversation on your own. I went to Eagle yesterday for a pedicure and I was underwhelmed. I will not go there again. Here is why: * I now have a cut on my heel - caused by the callus razor they used * The nail tech barely said a word to me the entire time - except when he noticed that he cut my foot he suddenly became friendly and asked what my weekend plans were. He did not tell me about the cut, but I noticed a strange look come across his face. * The other techs spoke to one another in Korean and seemed to be talking about & laughing at customers as they came in. * I also have a sore bruise on my back from the massage chair. They were very busy, so obviously not everyone has a bad experience there. Maybe I got the wrong nail tech. The price was low ($25), but it is not worth it to be cut and not treated that nicely. I don't need to carry on a 45 minute conversation - I actually prefer to relax and read while I have a pedicure. However, a little smile and a friendly hello goes a long way. There are so many nail salons so if one doesn't wow me I likely won't go back. This one did not wow me at all. Staff wasn't very friendly and they barely acknowledged us, may have been a language barrier but I felt like I was interrupting their day. I went with a friend to get pedicures, we didn't have an appointment and they were busy so we expected a wait. No big deal. They had us sit in the pedicure chairs with no water in the bowls for about 20 minutes and no one really paying attention to us. If I have to wait there are least throw me some hot water for my tootsies. They were either in the middle of remodeling or just like the way plywood walls look but the ambiance left much to be desired. They don't use a razor on your feet, which I know isn't technically legal or good for your feet but I prefer that. Can't hold that against them but a pumice stone just doesn't do the trick for me. Granted, this is a $25 strip mall pedicure so I probably shouldn't expect too much but nothing about how they clean the tools jumped out at me. I am pretty comforted when I see a place remove tools from a package and they just walked over with the tools in their hands here. So like 90% of the strip mall nail places I question how sanitary it is. read more

I moved to Berkley 2 years ago, and was looking for an affordable, clean, and skilled nail tech - Nail Salon. My friend recommended Eagle Nail Salon on 12 mile, in Berkley. I'd like to add, that I'm a retired nail tech. So, not only do I know what sanitary and disinfect mean, I also have a very high standard for skills and technique. Brooklyn is my guy! Not only does he know what he's doing, he also has a witty repartee. I also appreciate Anh (spelling?). Everyone is excellent, and I've never had a mediocre, let alone bad experience there. The pedicure is my favorite. They do a great "Dip" manicure, as well as shellac, and regular polish. I've never had gel or acrylics there, but judging the ladies that do, the nail tech's are awesome at those services, as well. Because of trial and many errors in the past, searching for a good salon, even if I moved to a different city, I would still come to Eagle Nail! I'd also like to add, that when salons were able to open, during the pandemic, Eagle Nail followed all of the rules perfectly. I started getting shellac manicures last year and absolutely love them - I love not screwing up my nails the minute I leave the nail salon! However, this Eagle Nails place was the worst shellac I've had yet. I was in a hurry and just looking for a salon and pulled into their parking lot. My shellac manicure was $35, which is pretty comparable to other salons (usually $30-$35). They should last a minimum of 2 weeks (and mine usually last 3 before I take them off). However, I had it taken off after only a week and a half because it was peeling at the edges and the root of my nail. It looked horrible. Also I had mine done french tip style and the woman put only one coat of white on the tips instead of two, therefore, the tips didn't look very good, they had lines running through the nail polish. I would not go back here again. If I'm going to be paying more for a shellac manicure I want it to last at least 2-3 weeks and still look good. read more

This salon is quite close to my parents house, and I wish I'd had a better experience here. The owner was one of the rudest people I've ever met. I asked her to use a soft nail file, which I supplied, as I have very weak nails. This seemed to offend her in some way. Then I asked her to apply the polish European style, leaving space either side of the polish line. That request pushed her right over the edge and she refused to complete my manicure. I've been a customer of this nail salon for nearly a decade. Over the years, I've seen the number of clients being serviced here gradually decline, along with the level of cleanliness. As usual, I went to this salon this morning, looking to receive a fill-in by my favorite technician, as a walk-in client. When I didn't see her there today, I quickly decided to stay anyways and wait for the next available nail tech. I took a quick glance around and noticed that there were about four or five other clients in the entire shop and maybe five or six nail techs. Now, keep in mind that I have never had to schedule an appointment in nearly ten years of frequenting this nail shop. As a matter of fact, whenever I've actually tried to schedule one, they've just told me to simply walk in, just as I did today. I waited patiently for around ten minutes before one of the nail techs walked over to me and abruptly spoke to me, telling me to come back at 3pm, because everyone here has an appointment. No apologies. No politeness. No smile. She rushed me out the door, and I felt disappointed, embarrassed, and sorry for them, all at the same time. I mean, who in this day and age, would just send money walking out the door? They are no longer the only game in town, and with sites like Yelp that exist, they need to think twice before behaving the way they did today. I'm an introverted person, but in no way am I a doormat or a push over. I just smiled and left the salon, taking my money elsewhere. I jumped on Yelp and found another salon, less than a mile away, rated much higher than Eagle Nails, and I'm so glad that I did. They took me in right away. No waiting until the end of the day for me! Another one bites the dust.... I stuck by these guys for all these years. I trusted them, and now I feel betrayed. But, now that I've found another great nail shop, I ask myself, why did I wait THIS long?! The service started off good with my pedicure. I was a walk-in, and was serviced immediately. They took their time on my pedicure. However, I ended up with too much skin being taken off around my cuticles to the point of bleeding. The polish wasn't cleaned off good enough, and after only a day I have chipped polish. I tried the Axxium polish by OPI on my nails. The woman kept hitting my nails, and got mad at me saying I needed to be careful when she messed up my nails. She wasn't careful enough while doing the application. I had the Axxium all under my nails. I was there over two hours for a manicure and pedicure. They need to move much faster. Prices are reasonable, but they don't do a good enough job. read more

Awful service! I've been to this salon quite a few times and always had mediocre service but it has gotten worse and worse. I always get pedicures there and the last couple times they chip within the first couple days. The last time I was in there, I got a pedicure and accidentally messed up my big toes. I went back the next morning right when they opened just to get those 2 toes repainted real quick. When I got there (right at 10), no one was in there and they made me wait 20 minutes before telling me they couldn't service me!
