Three layers of dip powder, a weird pink "clear" coat smeared over the nails, multiple coats of gel polish in the wrong color, and multiple top coats. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and wait for the finished product but OMG. Old polish and new polish around the nail, and I have no idea what color she was going for but not even close to what I chose. I had to leave to see a patient and when I came back the owner was more concerned about how much work her poor technician put in than the customer satisfaction. I finally got my money back at least for the fingernails.

After 2.5 hours of a great time at the salon, I was walking home and noticed my nails smudged. I went back realizing I'm probably being annoying but the staff is so wonderful and friendly and they fixed my nails. I stayed another 30 minutes for them to dry. The nails on both my hands ended up smudging despite hours of being dry later that evening and I told myself I can't go back to get them fixed anymore. Maybe it was just an off day but make sure your nails thoroughly dry before going home. I'm disappointed my nails won't look nice before I travel for the holidays but I will live. My feet look great and no smudging there! Pluses include tasty candy, kindness, and really great hot stone massages.

I sat there for 30 minutes, she just totally ignored me. I had enough and left. Not coming back. I don't recommend this place. Just awful. What's the point of having me come back at 7:15pm? I just wasted my time. If they didn't have time to take me, she should have said so instead of letting me drive back and forth and to wait 30 minutes for nothing. They lasted one week. Completely chipped on one of us and all nails completely came off on another after just 5 days. We would not recommend this place; although my pedicure was quite good. Still not worth being there for 3 hours. Their time management is not good and perhaps their technique or dip powder is old. My guess is both, as my dip nails are so thick . Never paid $200 for nails to last less than one week. They typically last 3-4. I called them and asked how long they should last before I mentioned how long ours lasted and was told 2-3 weeks. Then when I told her both of ours lasted less than one, I was told it was our nails that were the problem, even though I've been getting nails done for 30 years and they always last weeks. A regular manicure would've been the same lasting time, but much less expensive and much less time consuming. We agree to pay more for higher quality, longer lasting nails and we did NOT get what we paid for. Will not be returning and now I have to pay even more money to have them fixed. Not cool.

I went to Modern Nails for SNS nails and the technician/Tina cut my thumb to shreds (see pics). As…read morethis was the first time for Tina to do my nails I noticed that she handled my hands very roughly and attempted to clean up under my thumb using a drill and tore the skin up causing it to bleed. She then administered anticeptic and the picked up clippers in her hand in an attempt to clip off the excess skin, when I told her to stop and said "no more cutting". She finished with my top coat and I told her in my 25 years of getting my nails done this was a first and that I was very upset and bit shaken. She replied that I had very sensitive skin (which has never been the case). I was offered no apology or discount until I called back to reiterate my disgust and expressed that I was experiencing pain in my thumb. Tina then offer me 50% off my next manicure, which felt was presumptuous and dismissive. This was on a Friday, and my thumb [although improved (treated with hydrogene peroxide, bactine and neosporin)], but remains sore and it is Monday. Also noteworthy was Tina clipping her own nails (as my nails dried) which I felt was unsanitary, unsightly & unprofessional. I will close by saying that I do not write this review lightly, but was struck by the lack of customer service, and standards that I had come to expect in previous visits with other technians. This was not the case for me, this time.

But the tools were not clean, the gel fill is so thin it will not last 2 weeks, and the paint job is the sloppiest thing of life. I 100% could've painted them better myself. He put no less then 8 coats on my nails. Obviously, the quality of the paint cannot be that great if you need that many layers. Also, when you put that many layers it makes it much easier to peel off because it is thick. You better believe the moment that it starts peeling, I will go back in and ask them to fix it and I won't be paying for the fix either.
