While in the area, I decided to make an appointment at Nails at Tiffany's - the reviews, in general, looked positive, and booking online was pretty easy. They provide manicures, dips, pedicures, massages, waxing, nail designs, nail extensions, and even options for kids. I went for the Gold Dead Sea Spa Pedicure, with the requested Ms. Mai - I had heard that she does great ingrown nail work and takes her time to give quality pedicures. Overall, she was great - straightforward, pretty attentive, and gave great leg massages. The salon is clean and bright, and they seemed to be doing very well, as there were both walk-ins as well as those who had made appointments. The place offers you beverages, but, unfortunately, we weren't offered any snacks - I did see some of the patrons just go up to the side counter and grab whatever they wanted, but I thought that was a little weird. Prices were reasonable; if your nail tech is busy with another client, there are small gratuity envelopes in the front so you can provide a cash tip. Just moved to Ashburn from LA, and this was my 4th failed attempt to find a decent nail salon in NoVa. I got a powder manicure and gel pedicure--the total was $118.45 + $20 tip, which is more expensive than LA. The tech (Tina) was slow and seemed to be trying, but she clearly didn't have the skill. It took almost two hours, and the results were awful: nail polish glued to my skin, uneven shaping, hanging nails, and a sloppy finish. For the price and time, this was just so bad. I used to love this place but slowly started getting disappointed with the service. I've changed technicians because they somehow end up being rude when I disagreed with something or wasn't happy about the nail shape or color. They don't hide their frustration, roll their eyes and I always end up feeling scolded (I say they because the same has happened with more than one person). Getting your nails done is not a cheap service, and you want to be able to express your dislikes without getting an attitude about it, it is part of having good customer service. I came in on a random Wednesday for a basic mani and pedi. I was a walk-in, and they really, really were set on people coming in with appointments. They tried to dissuade me from coming in as a walk-in. Honestly, that should've been my first sign that maybe it isn't the place for me. The lady that had done my nails was friendly enough, but she didn't quite seem happy to get me as a walk-in wanting just a basic mani and pedi. I did feel a little bit unwelcomed. Perhaps, it was just because I was a walk-in, but from what I could see, there were a few techs that didn't have an appointment waiting. Anyways, the service was just okay. They didn't really do much in terms of cuticle care and cleaning. The polish felt very rushed, and there were a few spots that they missed on the side. I wish they had spent a little bit more care into painting my nails, but with basic service, I guess that's really expected? The salon is fairly clean with lots of stations and chairs for pedi. They offer complementary drinks and snacks for people who opt for the higher services, I think. They charge a fee for using credit card; I think it's a 2.9% fee. I don't think their website mentions that, but it is posted at the counter by the front door when you walk in. Overall, okay experience and service. I probably will not be back. First off, I never write any bad reviews but I feel that some feedback from my experience could be helpful. I booked an appointment over the phone same day. Front desk guy was very friendly! Everything started out good, was deciding on what color I wanted. Then I was paired with a nail tech who was obviously not in the best mood. But maybe she was having a bad day, so I didn't think much. She asked what I was wanting to do and I showed her a reference photo (french nail with small stars). She immediately said she cannot do that, and offered no alternative or suggestions.. so I opted for just the french nail. Giving her benefit of the doubt, I thought maybe she is newer and didn't feel comfortable doing that design, which is no problem! But the service continued to decline moving forward. I could feel the entire time that she was frustrated, not sure about what but I unfortunately felt like she directed it towards me. I was still very polite and only made requests when she asked. I don't even go on my phone at salons and always give my full attention to the nail tech that way they can do their job. But even with me being nice, she was still not very kind. I will say the acrylic tips she did came out fine, but everything else was not done very well. Once we reached the french tip portion, I was honestly very unhappy with the work. It was extremely uneven, rushed, and sloppy to be honest. I still decided to stay positive because I didn't want to burden her or make her more frustrated. When she asked if I liked the shape and size of french design, I only requested if she could make them a little thinner (thinking it may help to make it a little more neat). Even with her trying to do so, it was still the same outcome. She asked again how I liked them and I requested if she could again make it a little smaller. She looked upset and responded in an annoyed tone saying it won't look good. After that, I just let her do what she wanted and for the last 10 minutes I honestly felt very rushed and uncomfortable. At the end of the day, still tipped her well because she took time out of her day to do a service. Maybe she just had an off day? But overall just felt very unwelcome and no matter my requests when asked, I was immediately shut down. Ended up having to fix my own nails at home, and for the pricing - it should never come to that. Probably won't return :( but hope they can work on making new clients feel more welcome. read more

I really like this salon, it's close to home, elegant and nicely decorated, I overall think they do quality work and they do honor and keep appointments well. However, I have noticed a bit of a decline lately, especially in the nail techs not taking their time to greet customers and to offer them beverages and snacks, I usually have to ask. There is also some crankiness and I am not sure why, they charge well and I tip and am kind, but it really depends who you get. I tend to stick with Can, Henry and Tara, but other techs are more irritable. That said these 3 do quality work and take their time to please the customer, so I appreciate them. The nail salon has such great potential but an attitude of appreciation and throwing in a little extra is appreciated. Businesses are becoming so bare boned and this place should distinguish itself. I started coming to this nail salon because my bestie had made it her home nail spot (pedicures). I've now come here probably 6 or 8 times, and I would definitely say that it's a decent place. My issue with this place is that it is inconsistent for sure depending on which tech you get for your service - my favorite techs are Jackson and Vy. They both do a great job and don't rush through the service, which is something that I know can happen a lot, especially when a salon is busy. I do appreciate the appointment option at this location and that you basically have sort of an account and they know it's you when you make appointments. I also appreciate the ability to tip the techs in either cash or using their personal Venmo accounts. I think it makes the tipping aspect much more user-friendly and convenient. I usually go to Pink because she's super kind, precise, and does amazing nail art! I didn't make an appointment, so they ended up having me see Nancy. She did AMAZINGGG!! She recommended the new magnetic nails which were really nice. She made little daisies and we used bubble bath as the base. These are dip nails with the silver gel nail polish on top. I definitely recommend Nancy. She was kind, skillful, and wasn't afraid to try something new and provide recommendations to me. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the way I was treated during my recent visit. I have patronized your business for years, but my latest experience was unacceptable. I booked my appointment online with Tara, received a confirmation, and arrived as scheduled. Despite this, a male nail tech repeatedly insisted that my appointment was with Paula. Not only was he incorrect, but he continued discussing the matter with Tara as if I were not her client and as if I wasn't standing right there. The entire interaction was dismissive and disrespectful. After speaking up about how both the nail tech and I were treated, I later discovered that I was suddenly unable to book appointments online. That alone shows me more than enough about how you choose to operate. Not Hygienic - I've been to the salon four times and have seen two nail techs. I noticed that neither tech used sterilize tools. They simply pulled an unwrapped cuticle remover from under their table and used it. After they used it on me, they put it back under their table. The nail files are also reused. They never had me wash my hands after removing builder gel. I stopped going after I started noticing these practices. read more

It was very fancy and I felt like a queen! -There are many chairs for pedicures and manicures as they take in a lot of clients -Everyone in the salon was very friendly and warm -Tons of colors to choose from! Love how they have a book of colors instead of the plastic nail swatches. You can get a better picture of all the colors especially if you have one narrowed down -They served snacks and drinks.. Came for a pedi today with Mai. She was awesome, very patient and efficient! She listened to clients' requests and was very cheerful!! Twice I asked him to fix it and he said they will look different when the powder is put on, which they didn't. There are many nail salons in the Ashburn and Landsdowne area. I had seen this location pop up on my Yelp search and decided to give them a try. I called for a last minute appt and the gentleman(who I later found out was the owner) was very accommodating with my request. The spa-like atmosphere was so nice when I walked through the doors. There were 16 spa pedi chairs. I loved how the pedi and mani areas were in separate sides of the salon. Their color selection was gigantic! They also have a comfy and spacious waiting area. Customers waiting were offered beverages and it looked like they also had Dunkin Donuts for the morning customers. Aside from the amazing hospitality, my technician was Tommy and he was fantastic. I'll be coming back to see him again. They have a couple of pedicure choices. I chose the $50 salt scrub one. This was a nice relaxing pedi. Their tools were sanitized and it looked like each customer had a new pouch that was used for their process. The chairs were spaced apart and I didn't feel crammed with the next person. The fun benefit was the owner passing out snacks while we sat in the pedi chairs. They have a rewards program if you sign up. read more

Think fresh flowers over silk, white walls without fingerprints, clean sanitized surfaces and trash cans used for discarded nail clippings instead of the practice of "flicking" them onto the floor (we see you - other nail salons - this is just not hygienic!). Literally read everything they were saying, So sad that you work for tips and talk about the person in there face, looking up smiling, so shameful. At this point, I'm annoyed I want to leave. But I'm like, "trust the process"... just let it go. Get ya nails done and go, maybe they will look better. He cuts me; Paints my nails wayyyy before the nail bed. But here's the details... Let's just say First and foremost there is nothing THAT pisses a female off more than, picking a length and the nail Tech rush'n so much that he cuts one, two, or three nails a little too short so now half my length is gone. And every client knows you're not trying to be a asshole but you hate your nails. I told him what he did, he acted like he didn't know, i told him. This isn't the length i said. He started talking in his language again. At this point, i want to leave. Say, "take them off and let me go home. But no, I still paid full price. Still tipped 20%, I told him. "I hate them" I don't like this, my pink and thumb are two diff lengths, he ignores me. I pay. I tip. He literally leaves me there, and leaves. Once he leaves, I find a file and say there for thirty mins in the same seat, filing my own nails after spending 60$ to him, and 34$ in Ubers. The older lady who was next to him sees me and completely acts like I was invisible. So did the other techs. More than 6, after I finished trying to make them look the same. As much as I can. I left. I have been looking for a regular nail salon and made an appointment to come in for pedis with 2 friends, to try this spot. The salon seemed pretty nice and the manager offered us a snack and beverage, so we settled in to make our choice of service. We all selected spa pedis ($55 +) and my friend asked her tech if callous removal was included in our selections. It was. Once our nail techs all settled in, it became clear that once again, I was not feeling in good hands with my tech. He was shaping my nails and it became clear he wasnnot planning to cut them, so I requested it. He cut one foot but then needed to be reminded to do the other. This put me on guard for the rest of the session - I wish I could have relaxed and just enjoyed the pampering, but I felt anything but relaxed for the duration. I guess some techs do certain things in different order, but once the slathering of the calves start, it seems to me that the foot file time has passed, so my friend asked if there would be callous treatment. My tech seemed confused, so I had to lift my rough heel and point out how bad it was. My friend's tech had to keep explaining or reminding him. At first, I hoped that maybe he was just learning the ropes, but I now see that he featured in another bad review a year earlier, so...what can I say, Tiffany's- this guy is hurting your business. He got up at least 5 or 6 times to get stuff. One time, he came back with paraffin in baggies for my feet that was pretty lukewarm, so doubt it did anything. When I left the salon and looked down, my big toes were not nicely shaped - cut on a diagonal and not smooth. He asked me if they looked ok when I was in the chair, but from that perspective, I couldn't see what I saw outside. I know $55 may not seem like a ton of money to some, but to me, it's an indulgence, and I am really beginning to feel like some salons, including Tiffany's, treat their customers more like a number than a person. At this salon, the nail tech made me feel like I was not valued in the least because his customer service skills were so lacking. I am usually pretty forgiving, but this guy needs some serious retraining. And my big pet peeve at salons is at the end, more times than I care to count, when the tech is done, they just get up and walk away. One would hope there would be a word, a gesture, or guiding you to the place to wait while your nails finished drying, but no! And this guy did just that - I think he must have known he did a shit job and couldn't be bothered to extend further grace to me. We all 3 sat there after the techs had walked away, kind of miffed about the overall visit vibe (one friend was getting a no polish pedi and was disgusted they wanted to charge extra to buff her nails, so just ended up getting clear coat). The techs started giving us a "you should leave now" vibe, and then just put a liner on the tub and started filling it up with us still sitting there. There were other open stations, mind you. First - they charge you 2.99% to use your credit card but there is no sign saying so anywhere in the entire salon. I even asked if this was posted anywhere I was told it wasn't and that it's their new policy since COVID. Second - I asked the woman who did my eyebrows to make them even without thinning them at all and of course they're significantly thinner now than when I entered. I'm also pretty sure she was double dipping the stick into the wax, and I should have stopped her there and I don't know why I didn't. Terrible service and no value for money, won't be back read more
