I just had the most painful manicure. This isn't the first time a technician at this place has made me bleed, but I thought the first time was just a one off. This time four out of 10 nails were bleeding by the end. The technician kept rubbing her fingernail against the spot that she made bleed to fix nail polish. I'd rather go somewhere with better practices and attention to detail, then open myself up to an infection with an experience like this. read more

PAINFUL REVIEW - LITERALLY! It pains me to write this review as I was a long time customer of Helly. Over 10 years in fact! But with the issue I've had to deal with for the past 5 months I will say that I can no longer return to this salon. In early October 2023, I was getting my S&S done. I had actually broke my nail doing some yardwork and had asked Helly if we should glue it or cut it down. She quickly grabbed the glue, glued it and never let the glue dry but quickly started applying the first phase of the polish to start doing my S&S. She was super busy and seemed more concerned about what was going on with everything in the salon and the girl getting her nails done beside me. I thought it was odd that she didn't let the glue dry first. I typically try to come in about every four weeks. So the next time I came in I noticed something when she removed the polish (see pic of October 26, 2023). I asked her what that was because I thought it looked odd and never seen anything like this on my nails. She never even answered me but looked at my nail with a completely expressionless face. She kept moving on with removing the nail polish. I asked her a second time because she never answered me. Then she proceeded to tell me she had something for that and I will need to put it on once in the morning and once at night. She didn't really explain what it was. I had a feeling what it was only because of the location of the discoloration which happened to be the same spot she put the glue on. The next time I came in I noticed my nail looked really odd (see November 30th picture). She asked if was applying the cream I purchased. I said yes. I also asked her during this visit if she could trim one side of the nail that seemed to have somewhat of a hangnail (the side that she applied the glue). She trimmed my cuticle down so far that there was nothing at all left of my cuticle. It looked raw in fact after she trimmed it. I said something to her that I thought she cut too much of my cuticle. She said nothing. I didn't go back after that visit. You will see with the other pictures that I've continued to deal with this issue ever since. It's been a long and painful journey and now the nail is starting to separate from the nailbed which really concerns me! I since have found a new salon where you actually get a spa like experience. The nail technician I started going to is so gentle and calming. She also doesn't drill down on my nail with the dremmel so hard that it hurts or cuts my cuticles to where they bleed like I had to deal with each time I went to Helly. It was always a painful experience. At one time I would have highly recommended Helly and I always did! But I've seen the quality and care of this salon go down especially ever since she moved to the location she is at now. I started going to her when she was in the spot next to the Wells Fargo. It's sad, but unfortunately I can not go back and only hope and pray I can get over this issue soon. read more

I went here on a Friday. By Monday, the gel polish broke off of my finger. That wouldn't be so bad if they were really busy. Including me, there were two people that were having nails done. While I was getting my pedicure, another girl started doing my nails. My cuticles were bleeding due to the rush and they bled. She put a cotton ball on one. If I could leave a 0 star review I would! Worst nails I have EVER had. They started chipping just a few days after I got them. When I went back to the salon, they told me all they could do was remove them. No refund or anything. I paid $110 and I have been going here for years! I do not recommend this place. Helly has done my nails the 3 or 4 times I've been and she hasn't disappointed at all! My last gel acrylic set was perfect for me, I was very satisfied! My sister and I went and got our nails done. Our nails look great, but we were way over charged. We both got basic pedicures costing $25 which is what the sheet said when I was showed what pedicure to choose, but we got charged $33 per pedicure. I got a full set with gel and I was charged $65. She got a regular manicure with gel polish. This is the most expensive full set I have paid for. No designs, just basic color. Bringing our total to $172. This was way more than what we were supposed to be charged. I would recommend going there if you want your nails to look nice, but it is over priced by a lot. read more

Ugh I hate to even write this. I moved from the other side of town where and have been trying to find a new nail salon and have been going to this place for several weeks. Every week a nail with sns has broke within 3-5 days which that shouldn't happen) but the women are always nice and helpful. However this last time I went I was floored. The woman doing my pedicure scratched me so hard that when I put my legs back in the water it burned. Proceed to getting my sns changed where the same lady dremeled my nails until they burned along with doing my cuticles but I now have an infected cuticle (which cuticle care you have to pay extra to have for) and my fingers have not stopped throbbing. I've been getting my nails done for years and have never had this kind of experience at a quality salon. My nails do look nice though. Update: one of my fingers has been swollen and hurting all day and now green discharge is coming out. read more

Do NOT go to this salon. I never get pedicures, but wanted to treat myself. After sitting down and getting started with a pedicure, I began looking around more closely. This place was so dirty. The massage chair was worn out. Hair and dust all over the place. The woman who was giving me a pedicure brought tools out from the back in a little plastic bin. They did not look sanitized as other salons usually take tools out of plastic...but I thought surely they are sanitized because everyone knows how important that is. The whole time I could not wait to get out of there. And I should have trusted my I instincts. A week later I have toenail fungus on every freaking toe. I'm so pissed. read more

Love the location since my neighborhood salon closed down but when i come into a place I come to be pampered. I want to feel like I'm in a spa. When I spend 80$ for a manicure and pedicure plus tip I expected to feel relaxed. Not getting a partial manicure during a pedicure. Having a half manicure during my pedicure is not relaxing. A pillow under my arm for a manicure is not an enjoyable experience I'm so worried about messing up my nails I can't even enjoy the experience. Actually better from a place like this read more

Went in on a slow Monday afternoon around lunch time. I did get to sit down pretty quickly, so that was nice. I'm not sure if my nail tech was in a rush or was having a rough day but she made me bleed on at least 4 of my fingers and was nicked on almost all of them at some point throughout my time there. She was cleaning up my blood from my cuticles multiple times. While using the drill, she caught my skin in it on at least two fingers. Also mentally noted that she would continue to use the powder brush and polish even with active blood coming out. Not saying it was gushing by any means but definitely wasn't the most sanitary thing. After washing my hands and my service was supposed to be almost finished, there was still so much clear polish left on my skin around my nails with powder residue. I'm writing the review 8 hours after my service and my skin around 3 of my nails is sore and red from where I got cut up. Overall, pretty shitty experience from this nail tech. I'm not one to say I'll never go back since I'm not going to judge an entire establishment on one employee and maybe she was having a bad day but when I'm jolting, her asking if I'm okay multiple times, and she was cleaning up customers blood multiple times from her own error, I have a bad taste in my mouth. I will at least say that if I do set foot in that door again, I will never sit in the chair of that nail tech. read more

I was anxious to try Nails by Helly because many of the reviews were so positive and it was relatively close to my home. However, I was extremely disappointed. Although I had an appointment for a full set and brow wax, I waited 30 mins as they were "running behind". My appointment was to be with Helly but I was seated elsewhere for another tech to put the tips on. I noticed after leaving the salon that a couple of the tips were put on crooked. *Note-to-self: do not try to relax and enjoy the break from your busing schedule while getting your nails done but hover, to make sure your nails are glued on straight! I was finally placed at Helly's station, and she started my nails. The salon was loud and Helly was answering the phone constantly and was also distracted by her teenage daughter. Phone calls would come in and she would try and get her daughter to help her book new appointments. She would call out to her in a loud voice trying to get her attention to come help. At times, the girl would be sitting right next to Helly playing on her phone and mom would prompt her to put the phone down and help make appointments. The young girl was sassy at times with her mom and it was annoying. This made me feel like I was just another money appointment in the chair which did not lead to a pleasant experience. I had taken a bottle of regular nail polish in with me and wanted them to match it in a gel color. It was 'Ballet Slippers', a color that is common and recognized by most nail techs. The color she chose to use was not close at all, but she kept saying "it matches perfectly" although I tried to tell her otherwise. At this point I knew there was no sense trying to give constructive criticism in any way because it would not be accepted. With all the distractions and uneasiness to this visit I just wanted to get out of there. When I went to pay, I had big-time sticker shock, $82 and that was without a tip! I asked why it was so much for a full set and brow wax and if she could show me the break down. She simply re-added on her calculator (behind the counter) and told me it was $82. No other explanation was given. All I know is that nail sets are listed on the wall as $45 (brow cost not listed) and how she ended up with $82 is beyond me. In the end my nails looked 'ok' but nothing special. She did do a good job on my brow wax and I truly wish I had more good things to say about this salon and my experience there but I do not. read more

Goggle suggested Helly, after 3 visits here I am writing a review. I sit without critiquing as if I were in the hands of my tech of 10 years. I'm extremely particular, I highly recommend this salon. Awful, will never go back! Run down salon and my nails are just horrible. $65 for a powder fill and 3 build up nails - they are thick and look fake. She does not use a vacuum fan to collect nail dust, she uses her hand to clean table and then the dust off my hand . No cuticle clean up or lotion, the nail files are so old, no sanitizing whatsoever. Washed hands in sick and dry with old ratty looking wash rags. She straight out asked me for a tip ..instead of $10 I should of said you already over charged me on this crappy nail job! read more

I just moved to the area so I was looking for a spot to get my nails done. Facebook gave it pretty good reviews and it wasn't to far from home, so I decided to give them a try. The ladies were very sweet and took their time. They paid attention to the small details and I ended up with a beautiful mani and pedi.
