This place has unacceptable Customer Recovery/Horrid managerial fashion* I am a a part of the 55 plus community. Recently moving to Charolette, I was ecstatic about finding a nail shop! After visiting a few times without issue I was awarded beautiful nails while I expressed my gratitude via tip, as business relations should flow. After my last visit, I noticed that I didn't love my eyebrows. Confident in the service and my past experiences I returned to have them cleaned up a bit more. I was referred to the to the manager who was very hostile, dismissive, and lacked empathy. As I stood there feeling confused and unappreciated I found myself trying to deescalate and find recovery for the very rude manager, instead of her for the client.. Ultimately, I feeling betrayed and embarrassed by the managers tone and expression in the shop I opted to decline any additional service at that time or ever again. This is all so unfortunate because again, the shop, ambiance, and quality of work is amazing, obviously, until something goes wrong or you have a complaint.. God forbid I returned for a broken nail, or something much greater than a few plucked hairs ..  I was hoping for a more defined arch and for them to look cleaner as the photos will show what I got vs what I get elsewhere.. SNS dip chipped within days. When I arrived back and asked to have it removed there was a charge. Color lasted less than 11 days; they said they would have fixed if I had come back in 7 days. Sorry, it's summer and I was traveling, but they talked me into SNS dip due to it lasting and I was originally wearing manicured hands. I also rarely write posts like this, but I want others to be warned: do not go to this nail salon. I walked in for a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was fine enough, but the manicurist was horrible. She was rushed and not paying attention. She pushed my cuticles back so harshly, most impacted, and she was equally as harsh trimming them. The majority of my fingers were left bleeding, and she was not concerned by this in the slightest (the pictures don't do it justice). I asked for almond shaped, and not only are my nails now incredibly short, but also all different types of almonds. The receptionist is also rude, rude, rude. When I didn't hear her instruction and asked her to repeat, she openly rolled her eyes at me. This is the second negative interaction I've had with her in particular. This was my first time here and the lady, Polly, who did my nails did a great job but as I left I sat in my car which was parked on the backside of their building (in a public parking lot by other businesses) to talk on the phone with my boyfriend and wait for my food to be ready at Margaritas (a restaurant around the corner). I didn't even realize it until after a while but a man and older lady who worked at the salon were staring at me through their back door and talking to each other as if I was doing something wrong. The man then starts to come outside still staring and pretends to smoke to intimidate me. I rolled down my window and asked "what was up?" He shook his head quickly took one puff and walked back inside as I'm reversing the car. Been here 4-5 times for pedicures. Lady at front desk is so unfriendly and definitely acts like she doesn't want to be there. Last time I got the 14 minute pedicure, and yes he was in a rush! Normally a pedicure is 40 minutes.. this was 14. I brought my own polish, as I always do. It was a new bottle of OPI. But he applied it so thick that it was in globs. He went off to do a manicure for someone else, and then he returned to me to check my polish. He said he had to re-do it: remove it, and apply it again and again a third time. Went in today for a pedicure. They immediately sat me in a chair. Waited 35 minutes for service. Someone came over and put my feet in the tub. Waited 20 more minutes. The hostess came over and said someone would be with me in 5 minutes. 15 minutes passed and still no service. Put my shoes on and left. I walked right past the hostess and she didn't say a word. This was My first experience here. I live right down the road. The young girl that welcomes everyone and takes payment is super nice and friendly. The cherry tea she made was very tasty! As for the pedicure that's what got 3 stars I felt very rushed even if I only received a basic pedicure. She was extremely quick with using Pumice Stone. I didn't see her open any sterile products before giving me a pedicure which alarms me. Also The message was only on my legs and barely touched my feet, which is why I get pedicures. She messaged the top of my feet which hurt and don't feel good on the bones. The foot stool you have your feet up in is very hard and uncomfortable. Also at the end they don't have you wait under a light to dry your polish, you are just sent out of the door with WET polished nails. I hope I don't mess them up. PHOTOS ARE NOT ALL ELIFES WORK! I DID A COMPARISON! Attached is a photo or what orchid nail spa did for my nails and the right is the horrible elite. I also included a video of a European nail salon I went to before I came to elife and it's the same set they removed. I am finding ways to show you that regardless of my nails being long or short-- Elife made nails way too bulky and thick. You can tell they didn't adhere to the shape of my nail or hands. The acrylic is super thick and I even went home in pain for hours because my fingers were aching. Please see more details of my experience below. Please note that I didn't even want a refund. Just decent customer service smh. Horrible! Horrible horrible. If I could leave one star I would. First off I go on for a nail take off and full set with gel. The guy does my nails super thick so I tell him when he is finishing the pinky (he has nine more nails to go to get it right) I that I don't like think nails. He says that "it's not thick you just yet long nails" I'm 34 and have been getting my nails done for 15 years and jr doesn't work like that. The entire time he is drilling my flesh and applying the product at least 8 centimeters from my skin down to the nails so my skin has product all over. I go and pay and then tell the manager my feedback and I even left a tip. The feedback I had was that the tech needed coaching with his skills as well as customer service. The manager admitted she can see what was wrong and She asked if I wanted her to fix it and I told her it's ok. She kept asking and I told her I don't have time. She said will you come back tomorrow and I'll fix it. I said ok. I'm a busy person and nails take forever. I really didn't feel like going back but she seemed to want to fix it so I agreed. I got a nail appt confirmation when she booked it and a reminder at 10pm that night. Next day: I arrive and the receptions tells her I'm here (she was finishing someone up). A different nail tech sits in front of me and I ask "who is doing my nails" the manager says "I am but she's going to take off your polish". The lady takes off my polish and the manager finishes her client. I'm sitting and the manager gets up and starts doing a girls feet. I sit for 20 min before I call Mimosa Nail bar and book a 4pm. I then get my stuff and get up to leave. I sit in the car and I'm like wtf? I am always way too nice and this crap was $80! I go back in (lol) and I'm like "can I have a refund because this is crazy" the manager is like "oh my client needed a polish change and then her polish was lifting so I had to help her. Now I'm done and I can help you. Sometimes things happen ". I said "well why didn't you tell me that 35 min ago when I walked in? Your other client was in here before I arrived so you knew you were going to skip over me to help her. Why didn't you tell me from the start? That's where you went wrong" She says she doesn't do refunds and other business wouldn't either. Bull crap! This place sucks so bad. I usually go to places like mimosa nail bar, Orchid spa, etc. places with class and proper hospitality. She literally rolled her eyes and walked away. I came here to get my nail fixed because I got my nails done here. The manager is the one who was supposed to assist me but she was asking me, as the customer, what I wanted her to do to fix it. Absolutely, the worst nail salon in Charlotte!!! I have visited this place on 3 occasions thinking I would get a better experience but NOT. I got acrylic nails for an event I was attending. They were so thick. My fingers felt so heavy. Thank goodness they started lifting the next day and was somewhat easy to take off. Pedicure - Was charged $60 for a deluxe pedicure in which I only received a basic pedicure. It was very rushed. No paraffin wax, hot towels or anything. A very basic manicure was even a bad experience. I was told to choose my color. I did. I sat down in the chair and immediately he put the callus gel on my cuticles and put my hand in the fuzzy mittens with stones. Then, he took 1 hand out and wiped it with a towel and in 5 seconds he had filed and shapes them. Next he did the same thing to the other hand. Then he painted them. My hands were still sticky from the callus gel. Not once did he soak my hands or even have me to wash them. Of course when I spoke up, they claimed to not understand English. Customer service is garbage!!! They are pushy with up-selling. everything even though you have clearly stated what you want and get made when you decline. Then they start to speak in their native language about you while they are all looking and staring at you. read more

The assortment of colors are awesome. Finally the prices ARE VERY REASONABLE!!!!! I will not let anyone else in Charlotte do my nails. Terrible experience. I came into Elife Nail Spa for a simple pedicure with acrylic toe removal. I emphasized to the hostess that I wanted to have the acrylic removed entirely and she understood. The guy that was selected to do the pedicure did not speak English whatsoever. There is an evident language between the staff and it needs to be corrected. As we are nearing the end of the pedicure, I still see that the acrylic has not been removed so I called the hostess back over to ensure that he knew to remove the acrylic and he nodded his head yes. I even recommended that someone else remove the acrylic because it's evident that he doesn't know how. He then proceeded to turn the nail file up so high that my second toe nail bed started to burn so bad from the heat and movement of the electric file. No exaggeration, my nail bed was filed down so low that I could feel ridges. I then got out of my seat and headed to the hostess. I don't care about a discount. I really don't. That pedicure experience was a 0/10. My nails were not shaped at all. I am so disappointed. read more

The first time I was there it was generally acceptable and my "nail technician" was pleasant and was the best service I had received at that establishment. I typically only go just to get a pedicure. I feel like they rush their process and they just want to get done, write a ticket so they move on to the next customer. The second time that I was there I was not offered a beverage as many of the people were. Once again was treated and processed as if they were just trying to get done. It was not even done well as it was necessary to trim two different nails after I got home. I decided to give it one more try just yesterday and I was seated relatively quickly. The lady came over and turned on the water. I turned on my massaging chair which is a 30 minute cycle by the time it hit 16 minutes remaining I was already done. The lady that did my nails never once greeted me nor did she even look up. She barely trimmed the toenails and I don't believe even tried to clean the cuticles until I said something. Again not offered a beverage as some of the customers had. Whether it be a Coke or a water or anything else I wasn't even asked. 14 minutes to sit down have the water turned on and then already be done Is anything but relaxing or very thorough... Basically for me it's three strikes in your out.aybe they do nails well, painting and so forth, but for me that is not important.. Every customer should be treated like gold at all times... A year ago I tried this salon and was very dissatisfied with the quality of my manicure. Polish job was not good! Tried again this year and very dissatisfied again!!! Also I made an appointment for first thing when this business opened because I had other things to do that I needed to be on time for I walked in right when doors opened, and my technician already had another client in her chair. I was a bit shocked. I waited a few minutes and seen nothing was going to change and I walked out, also other women entered right as opening and same thing happened to them. I took a chance... so I came in on the Sunday before the holiday about 30mins after they opened and was told they had no appointments, but it wasn't packed. They asked if I wanted to book an appointment for another day I could. So I said ok, confused but sure I'll take a chance because it's close to my home. Came back on said appointment date and got in the pedicure chair things seemed fine. BUT nope... I said ouch so many times it immediately became the least relaxing experience to say the least. But again I waited 2 days to come back just to give them a try. So I just tried to communicate with the tech to be a little more gentle (I am human). After my pedicure I was moved to the station for my nails anddd I sat there for AN HOUR!!! (Why make an appointment??) Bless the receptionist she tried everything more wine or a massage but I was fuming. I kept being told 5 mins from the technician and yet it took and hour. Believe me I thought about leaving but with drive time and having to wait somewhere else as I walk in I just stayed. Nails started (hour later) I show the design and shape I want, the tech begins. Twice I stop them and say the nicest way possible that the shape they are doing isn't what I was hoping for based on the picture. Needless to say the shape, the design weren't right. I paid nearly $150 to not be happy. I really had hope but I'll be driving 30 mins to my old place where nearly anyone out of 20 technicians always get my nails right.
