I'm new to the Carlsbad area and read reviews for many local nail salons. Nails 2000 Plus seemed to have the most consistently rated recent reviews. I especially liked the photos posted of French gel nails by Julia so I booked an appointment with her yesterday morning for 12:30pm. The salon has all COVID-19 protocols in place and after signing in and having my temperature taken, I didn't have to wait long. Julia arrived and got to work! She did a beautiful job of pushing back then cutting my cuticles in a smooth flow. One of my pet peeves is when manicurist pick at cuticles in a haphazard manner. As she finished each step she would check in with me to ensure I liked it. She was extremely meticulous when creating the French tip with the brush. I haven't gotten gel nails done in years because I feel like they ruined my nails, but I hadn't had a manicure in two months and have a trip next weekend and wanted a manicure that would last a little longer. I appreciated that Julia did not endlessly buff my nails the way some manicurist do, thereby weakening the nail bed. My nails feel and look like natural nails and I am one happy customer. I also got a $42 pedicure with Hannah afterwards and it was a special treat with all the extras. She was also quite meticulous and took her time to do a great job! read more

I wish I can say my experience today (9.10.24) was great; it was horrible. I've going there forna couple of months, and have been fairly satisfied until the evil human being gave a manicure and actually hurt me thumb with one of her tools and I screamed that it hurt. She not once apologized. Her horrible attitude changed when I said I don't want gel just a simple mani. Will never give my money to Nails 2000 ever again. They need to fire her or maybe I should take her to court. read more

Let me say that I am super picky and a perfectionist when it comes to my toes and nails. I love this place and always go to Haley for my acrylic nails and Renee for my gel pedicures. They are so friendly and so detail oriented. Amazing! read more

Never have I been so embarrassed in my life. DO NOT come here. The women who run this establishment have no customer service skills and after a year and a half, I was told that I can't come back because ANNIE said she couldn't work on my nails anymore. Annie has worked on my nails off and on for this whole time and if they're ruined right now, it's been because of her. I will never refer ever again. When I asked the manager Julia to come up and explain to me or Annie to / they just spoke about me in Vietnamese and wouldn't say it directly to me. How dare you?!!? read more

I came here based on a friends recommendation and she did not steer me wrong. Fair warning, the secret is out on this hot spot so if you want to come on the weekend, I strongly encourage you to call and make an appointment. We were able to do so the day before. We were seated almost immediately, though not together, but we were fine with that. I ordered a spa pedicure and I received one of the absolute best pedicures of my life. She took her time at every step and it was done with care and quality. I am very ticklish on the balls of my foot, and when most would just move on she adjusted pressure and made it as comfortable for me as possible. Her work was absolutely pristine. My friend get a gel manicure and pedicure as well and hers were also absolutely perfect. She and I have gone to a lot of places over the years, and this is my favorite thus far. The location is great and the price is very reasonable. It felt like a bargain for what I got. I will say that on a hot summer day, while waiting for my friend to finish it was very warm sitting in the front. Something to consider for a summer walk in. Like many salons, I was not able to tip on my credit card, which I hate but that is fairly typical. Overall it was a wonderful experience. I got acrylic nails with gel for a competition I had that Saturday. Well, the day off my nail broke, I've never had acrylic nails that were so flimsy! They didn't even put the color on fully, it was blotchy and uneven. After spending $100 for mani & pedicure, definitely expect it to not be breaking in 3 days. Felt rushed and that would explain the result of the nails. The booking process was easy, they were on time and it was clean, so that gives it the extra star. Too pricey for the lack of quality though. read more

But this lady I don't even know her name she was older and she was frustrated with me because I didn't like the way my black French tip looked and she scoffed and rolled her eyes I was like jeez but I'm so tired of leaving these cheap 2000's nail salons with nails I don't like but am paying for keep in mind ***over priced paying for so yes I'm mad. Absolutely horrible customer service. Thuy & Julia should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid this place if you care about professionalism, cleanliness and integrity. I brought 5 people here for a fun girls date before Christmas Eve. The technician didn't fully take off my polish before starting a dip manicure. I pointed it out and she said it was fine she would fix it. By fixing it she began to clip all the skin around my nails which became extremely painful to take off polish. I had her stop and asked for a refund or gift card to redo this as we were taking kids to an event and would be late if I stay to redo them. They refused. Even the customers around me were appalled at the management for not making it right especially since I already paid and tipped generously. A lady who frequented this place even followed us out to apologize and said she won't be returning after watching that. Nonetheless I never write poor reviews but this was the worst experience I've ever had with management and felt it was important to give others a heads up. read more

This is an update to my last review 2 years ago. As much as I am not pleased with the new owners, I love both Sally and Renee. I returned because of them and their amazing talents. Sally and Renee do my daughter's as well. Sally does our nails and Renee does our pedicures. They are both accommodating and so nice to deal with! Again, we returned because of Sally and Renee. I do wish they would get new matching polishes. I like my toes and nails to match and the colors don't seem to be updated that often! Other than that, the shop is kept clean, which is refreshing! I use to love this place but with my last experience I've definitely changed idea. I've spent 2 hours there for a Gel manicure and pedicure which is totally ok since I didn't have an appointment but as you can see in the picture, this is what I got. The color is a lot lighter than what I've picked and this is a gel. The person who did my manicure was in a hurry and did a massage for less than 30 second which I think it's very disrespectful towards their costumer's money and time. Everyone at Nails 2000 Plus is so kind and attentive to details. The salon is very clean and they're always playing Parts Unknown or Chef's Table on the TVs, which I love. This was my 3rd time coming here and it will definitely be my last. Almost every single one of my nails bled after she did my cuticles. She was super rough with them and also used the drill on top of them after breaking skin. My nails overall are also super messy and bumpy (I got dip). Most of my nails aren't even rounded, they have weird dents and corners even though they were supposed to be oval. A bunch of my nails also have dents in the dip. Definitely not worth $50. read more

I just had the most frustrating experience here. I have gone to this nail salon for years and always get the same service of a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. And I almost always even get the same color--bubble bath. I didn't realize until they were almost half way through with painting the color that she was using gel on my toes. I didn't notice bc I was focused on my hands getting done. They wanted to either charge me an extra $20 or remove the entire thing and do it again. I don't like getting gel on my toes bc it is a pain to remove and unnecessarily expensive. Seemed so stupid and illogical but they insisted that was their policy. I cannot go to a salon that cannot make logical decisions bc there inevitably will be other possible conflicts and I can't deal with people who can't make logical decisions. read more

Omg. I literally will never go to another nail place again. This place is super organized. They take appointments and walk ins, and have you sign in when you get there on an iPad. They communicate with one another and are super fast at getting you in. Even better, the nail technician did my nails absolutely perfect, I have never been more happy with my nail shape and overall quality. Her name is Tiffany and I will try to get her every time although I am confident that this place has all highly qualified technicians. Furthermore, they have probably like 1k gel colors.
