I found a Groupon for this place. I always wait to buy the Groupon until I have an appointment just in case. It was for a full body wax, but when I called to make the appointment, Minda just kept saying "it's soooo much work". I told her that it's fine, I won't buy it if she doesn't want to do it. She said she would still honor the deal but kept repeating it's so much work and would take hours and that Groupon was supposed to take the ad down. It felt like she wanted me to offer to pay more, but I just said it sounds like she doesn't want to do it so I can go elsewhere and she said she would prefer that. I think turning someone away in that way was unprofessional and it made me really uncomfortable that she kept telling me how much work it is. She shouldn't offer a service she isn't willing to follow through with. It was just a very uncomfortable experience. read more

This is an overdue review as I've been seeing Minda for the past two years!!! She was my first Brazilian wax experience and I will never ever let anyone else wax my kitty other than her now. I don't like to leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but I had a terrible experience here and I think I should post about it. I have waxed for years and recently moved. I did my research and found that this was a good fit for me: nearby, fairly priced, and great reviews here on yelp. I was supremely disappointed. I got an underarm and upper lip wax and it was negative all around. Somehow wax got on my nose and I was left with wax that I couldn't remove all afternoon on my face. The worst part? I lifted on my underarms. It was so horrible! Even still several months later, I have lingering pain from the lift whenever I wax again or (because I couldn't take the pain when waxing) when I started shaving. I understand that everyone is sensitive in different ways and that waxing is always a risk. But I've been waxing for years! I've been to several salons and have used several types of waxes. I am sure that I lifted not from a sensitivity of the wax but how she pulled the wax from my skin. A photo I took shows that she burned a ring all around my underarms. You may want to think twice before going for this cheap alternative. I certainly have. read more

Minda is definitely the best in the biz. Her office space is kept clean and serene (ha) She's really quick with the waxing, which is helpful when you're getting a brazilian, the less time it takes down there, the better. She's professional yet down to earth & makes you feel comfortable which is important when you're half naked, exposed, & feeling vulnerable. She just moved to a different space within the same building so it's bigger & more private now and she still has the chocolate supply out front which is always a plus. I figure I deserve a chocolate after having a brazilian I don't know about you. I'd prefer a drink but I'll settle for chocolate. I've been to 4 estheticians in my lifetime for a brazilian (Minda was the 3rd) & I doubt I'll ever go to another. There's just no need. Minda's the best! I strayed once & I will never cheat on her again! It proved not only to be a very painful lesson but a much more costly one at that. DOUBLE FAIL!! Minda, is by far the best Esthetician I have ever experienced. In the past I had a horrifying experience with a Brazillian wax. She recently relocated down a few doors and the new space is very private and is actually right off the sidewalk so its a bit easier to find for new comers. I have been going to Minda for 2 years and she is the only person I will see for waxing! My eyebrows have never looked better and I consistently get complimented. When I first came in, she explained the shape she thought was best and drew it out so I felt comfortable. I also get regular Brazilian waxes. She is incredibly quick and has the most pain free (as possible) technique. I have also had my legs and underarms waxed, all great experiences. I'm just going to knock two stars off because I want to assume, based on other reviews, that this was just a fluke. After my great first appointment, I had an unpleasant experience my second time here. Again, I had a brazillian and lip wax and my hair was definitely long enough. This time, Minda seemed distracted and and took much longer. She forgot to press on the skin to stop the pain and she forgot many areas before she slathered my skin with oil and told me I was done. I pointed out a couple obvious clusters of hair and she removed most of them with tweezers. I had to keep pointing out more hairs, and I had to keep craning my neck from my lying position to show her more. She acted increasingly frustrated with me as I kept pointing out more hairs. Over and over, she re-waxed patches of skin, oiled it again, and again she'd tell me it was done. She kept telling me she couldn't see anything else, which I found hard to believe if I could see them from where I was. I decided to leave, knowing it wasn't totally done because my skin had become very puffy and red. The next day, the swelling had gone down, but I had a lot of tiny irritation bumps. I was able to tweeze out the extra hairs myself. If I can see them and pull them out, I have to think that a professional should be able to do the same. My vision is far from perfect. I also had to touch up my lip wax with my tweezers. She complained a lot about her job, which to some degree is fine, but too much of it without having much else to say just makes me feel like I'm unwelcome. I haven't decided yet if I should try going back, or if i should try another place. read more

Nor did I feel a reason to return as I was left with wax still on me ( I got a Brazilian) and it wasn't comfortable walking out that way.
