I didn't think I would ever say that a Brazilian wax could be almost painless, but there it is. Minda is very sweet, kind and, best of all, gentle. Her suite is cute and homey, very relaxing. Thank you, Minda! read more

I found a Groupon for this place. I always wait to buy the Groupon until I have an appointment just in case. It was for a full body wax, but when I called to make the appointment, Minda just kept saying "it's soooo much work". I told her that it's fine, I won't buy it if she doesn't want to do it. She said she would still honor the deal but kept repeating it's so much work and would take hours and that Groupon was supposed to take the ad down. It felt like she wanted me to offer to pay more, but I just said it sounds like she doesn't want to do it so I can go elsewhere and she said she would prefer that. I think turning someone away in that way was unprofessional and it made me really uncomfortable that she kept telling me how much work it is. She shouldn't offer a service she isn't willing to follow through with. It was just a very uncomfortable experience. read more

I had waxing of my eyebrows done. Kinda was very professional, sweet and did a great job. The best part is you can't beat her prices! Check her out and you won't regret it. read more

I rarely leave Yelp reviews but have to because I visited Minda today and she is truly amazing. I started getting Brazilians 15 years ago and Minda just gave me the best wax of my life. Not only the most thorough but the fastest and least painful. I'm floored and honestly sad I didn't find her sooner but so happy I finally did. Minda is a gem! read more

I don't like to leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but I had a terrible experience here and I think I should post about it. I have waxed for years and recently moved. I did my research and found that this was a good fit for me: nearby, fairly priced, and great reviews here on yelp. I was supremely disappointed. I got an underarm and upper lip wax and it was negative all around. Somehow wax got on my nose and I was left with wax that I couldn't remove all afternoon on my face. The worst part? I lifted on my underarms. It was so horrible! Even still several months later, I have lingering pain from the lift whenever I wax again or (because I couldn't take the pain when waxing) when I started shaving. I understand that everyone is sensitive in different ways and that waxing is always a risk. But I've been waxing for years! I've been to several salons and have used several types of waxes. I am sure that I lifted not from a sensitivity of the wax but how she pulled the wax from my skin. A photo I took shows that she burned a ring all around my underarms. You may want to think twice before going for this cheap alternative. I certainly have. read more

This is an overdue review as I've been seeing Minda for the past two years!!! She was my first Brazilian wax experience and I will never ever let anyone else wax my kitty other than her now. (I've tried two other places) She is sooooo efficient and she works so fast that it's nearly painless. I feel nearly aerodynamic after I see her. My kitty is clean as a whistle. I'd include photos... But you know, that's weird. Haha. If you're looking for a great wax, look no further, she's your gal. read more

Intimated to go through with a Brazilian Wax, I did hours of online research. Blessed to come across skin sensational. Minda is #1 ! Very gentle and excellent chair side manner! She always returns my calls and does her best to work me in, shows her commitment towards her regulars! I was shock in the end. It was quick and not as painful as I imagined. I totally feel she has a talent of distracting you , making you feel less then you should ! ! ! read more

I've been going to Minda for about 10 years now! She's great at what she does and is very personable. Makes you feel comfortable and does a great job every time. read more

Was not happy with my experience, has no customer service, and you get what you paid for. I got a brazilian done and she said it was her speciality! She was fast but not precise, she did it very quickly didn't take her time, and re-used the strips. read more

Minda is the best waxer I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot. When it comes to brazilians she is super fast, makes the experience as painless as possible, and is so friendly and easy to feel comfortable around. She also gave me one of the best brow waxes of my life, and I'm super picky about my brows! I will never go to another waxer so long as I live in this area. Beyond grateful to have found Minda and can't recommend her enough! read more

Minda is definitely the best in the biz. Her office space is kept clean and serene (ha) She's really quick with the waxing, which is helpful when you're getting a brazilian, the less time it takes down there, the better. She's professional yet down to earth & makes you feel comfortable which is important when you're half naked, exposed, & feeling vulnerable. She just moved to a different space within the same building so it's bigger & more private now and she still has the chocolate supply out front which is always a plus. I figure I deserve a chocolate after having a brazilian I don't know about you. I'd prefer a drink but I'll settle for chocolate. I've been to 4 estheticians in my lifetime for a brazilian (Minda was the 3rd) & I doubt I'll ever go to another. There's just no need. Minda's the best! I strayed once & I will never cheat on her again! It proved not only to be a very painful lesson but a much more costly one at that. DOUBLE FAIL!! I highly recommend Minda, she's great at what she does. read more

I was able to score a Groupon for a $22 waxing with Mindy. I'm so glad that I did! I have nothing to say but good things about Mindy! I walked in today thinking it was the day of my appointment, but it wasn't until tomorrow! I was mortified, but she was kind enough to squeeze me in! I even brought my infant with me and she was very accommodating! It was my first time, and she was very comforting and friendly. The waxing did not take long, and wasn't "too bad" ;) read more

Minda is amazing! I recommend her for all your waxing needs. She's fast, accommodating, and efficient. Her prices are better than anywhere I've gone to and she is super friendly. Her business is tucked away in Encinitas but well worth the visit. She books pretty fast and quickly, so I would definitely give her a call if you're looking for a great place to get a wax. read more

I've tried many, many places for waxing. Last time Minda couldn't squeeze me in, I went to another place and I regretted it. No more trying other places for me...I'm sticking with Minda! *update: I broke out in a horrible rash everywhere after my last waxing experience. I think I've developed an allergy against Minda's wax. This is not the first time this has happened, but the first time after waxing here. Too bad. Back to "sugaring" for me. * thanks for the comment, minda. i appreciate your concern. :) read more

Minda, is by far the best Esthetician I have ever experienced. In the past I had a horrifying experience with a Brazillian wax. After going to Minda she put me at ease and made me feel so comfortable. She does it so well and fast that there is never any fear anymore. I actually look forward to seeing her. Not only is she amazing at waxing, but she is also incredible at skin care. Her knowledge about skin care is fantastic and people have noticed how much better my skin has become. There is no reason to ever go anywhere else. She has the best prices in town, is a great person, fun, very efficient, and outstanding at what she does! I recommend everyone and anyone to her! Minda you rock!!!! read more

She was FABULOUS! Couldn't recommend this place more. Always coming back here! She was kind and so sweet and easy to talk to.

I have been going to Minda on and off for about 5-6 years. I have researched many places for brazilian waxes and still have yet to find someone that can beat her price, friendliness and professionalism. There's always a conversation with her and she gets me done in 15 minutes! She recently moved one door (green) south of her original location and now has her own space. I love how she has decorated it - very relaxing and private. read more

I just moved from Leucadia I miss Minda more than most of my friends ;) ... that's how awesome she is!!! It's now time to search for a new waxing professional, who I'm sure will be more that double her pricing. Thank you!!! read more

If you have been looking for the best combination of quality and affordability for waxing (Brazilian, in particular), you can stop your search now. MINDA IS THE BEST! I regularly get Brazilians, and I have tried services throughout San Diego and LA. Minda beats them all with her prices and her skill. I've paid double for Brazilians that are half as thorough as Minda's work. Not to mention, she is the sweetest woman AND you will be supporting an honest, local small business. read more

So efficient, and pretty painless as far as Brazilians go. Great conversation, really love this place. She did a great job!

Minda has moved one door down, but in the same building. The new space is lovely, private and relaxing. I have been back to Minda for waxing as well as a peel. She educated me on the peel and what to expect, which was spot on. My skin has improved and it didn't hurt the pocketbook either! read more

Absolutely AMAZING! You won't regret visiting here! Just went for the first time last week and I can't wait to go back. I've never had a better wax in my life, her skills are phenomenal, and I haven't found any other place that has a better deal. It's very cute and quaint and you know you'll always get the same person with the same results! The other small detail I loved was that she lit candles in the waiting area- it smelled nice and had great appeal as soon as you walk in! read more

I have been going to Minda for 2 years and she is the only person I will see for waxing! My eyebrows have never looked better and I consistently get complimented. When I first came in, she explained the shape she thought was best and drew it out so I felt comfortable. I also get regular Brazilian waxes. She is incredibly quick and has the most pain free (as possible) technique. I have also had my legs and underarms waxed, all great experiences. I had tried out a number of other waxing locations, but Minda is the best! Great prices and overall just a great person to spend some quality time with :) read more

Love Minda ! Being a hairstylist, It is very important to find people that I can refer my clients to for other services I do not provide. It is such a plus, that her business is close by. AS their are I believe 5 other waxing studios between our locations. She is very professional, educated, inexpensive, thorough, and quick which I would think everyone, would appreciate. Her space is quaint, and perfect for what she needs. So glad she was recommend to me, 5 or so years ago.. thank you Mindy, for referring Minda! read more

Wow! Minda is so nice and professional! It was as painless as a wax could be! She is great!

Awesome service! Mindy does an amazing job and is so friendly and accommodating. She is fast and good priced as well!!

I love going to see Minda at simply-skinsational! She does an awesome job. Plus, prices are affordable too!

I'm just going to knock two stars off because I want to assume, based on other reviews, that this was just a fluke. After my great first appointment, I had an unpleasant experience my second time here. Again, I had a brazillian and lip wax and my hair was definitely long enough. This time, Minda seemed distracted and and took much longer. She forgot to press on the skin to stop the pain and she forgot many areas before she slathered my skin with oil and told me I was done. I pointed out a couple obvious clusters of hair and she removed most of them with tweezers. I had to keep pointing out more hairs, and I had to keep craning my neck from my lying position to show her more. She acted increasingly frustrated with me as I kept pointing out more hairs. Over and over, she re-waxed patches of skin, oiled it again, and again she'd tell me it was done. She kept telling me she couldn't see anything else, which I found hard to believe if I could see them from where I was. I decided to leave, knowing it wasn't totally done because my skin had become very puffy and red. The next day, the swelling had gone down, but I had a lot of tiny irritation bumps. I was able to tweeze out the extra hairs myself. If I can see them and pull them out, I have to think that a professional should be able to do the same. My vision is far from perfect. I also had to touch up my lip wax with my tweezers. She complained a lot about her job, which to some degree is fine, but too much of it without having much else to say just makes me feel like I'm unwelcome. I haven't decided yet if I should try going back, or if i should try another place. read more

So I don't enjoy leaving anything below four stars, but I think it is helpful to others to know. I think Minda was very kind and professional although being how fast she was I didn't feel valued as a client. Nor did I feel a reason to return as I was left with wax still on me ( I got a Brazilian) and it wasn't comfortable walking out that way. The price was very reasonable although I do not believe I will be returning. read more

I wish I could give Minda 10 stars - she is phenomenal. Not only is she professional, but the space is always spotless, she's super quick, extremely friendly, and has the best prices around. Her Brazilian bikini wax is her specialty and I always have her do my underarms as well. It has never hurt and I always feel great afterwards. I've recommended Minda to my family and friends and highly suggest you see her for your waxing needs. She is hands down the best! read more

I've been here 3 times already and Minda is awesome! She is very professional, fast and always makes me feel at ease. Hopefully some day I will get use to it and won't be such a wimp, Lol! read more

Love Minda! Being an esthetician myself, and not specializing in Brazilian waxing, I appreciate her attention to detail and gentleness in a sensitive area. Minda is quick, clean, professional and truly does the best Brazilian wax I have ever had, within a 15 min. time frame or less. I always pre-book with her and have had her do my brows + lip wax occasionally and I have not been disappointment with any service that Minda offers. read more
