At the risk of repeating myself: Nicole is really amazing and I love coming here!! I should update my 2-year old review just to note that the therapists here are no longer masking - BUT the massage huts have windows and you can keep the door open. So I still feel super safe even in COVID surges masking myself - and with air circulation. I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point - it's semi-outdoors, the atmosphere is really relaxing - and again, Nicole is not only super kind-hearted but so phenomenally talented. She doesn't do the same thing every massage - she intuits where it's tighter and varies her technique. I appreciate her - just please don't book her up so much that I can't get in when I need to! Also the huts had been getting hot - but they have new ventilation. The white one today had a little a/c unit which made things super comfy even on a hot day! PS: I see some people complaining about customer service when calling. I think I called when I first started coming here in 2021, but I never call at this point! I book online, which is super easy. And if there's an issue, Nicole texts me (like today when there was an event in Leucadia, and parking was challenging - and I had to come extra early). Let me start by saying that the garden is adorable, it's beautiful and very special that it's in Encinitas. I believe that I must have had the wrong masseuse but that's not why my overall rating is 3. Overall, I wouldn't be coming back here for a massage. For the following reasons: 1. My masseuse was Not very friendly even the moment she met me. 2. My massage cost ($180) for 90 mins, I had a GC. Despite, have a not so nice masseuse, I still tipped her $35. 3. I asked for deep tissue, she said it was an extra $30, I declined. I've gotten many massages before and never been charged when I asked this 3. My masseuse pretty much just lotion and pet me the whole time. It was light pressure. When she did check in on me, after 20 mins into the massage, I asked her to be more firm (she began to use her elbow only) and she was but it hurt so incredibly bad so I asked her for lighter but firm 4. After that I just gave up and waited for my 90 mins to be over 5. She kept stopping midway and what I could sense and here was her checking her phone and responding to text messages. She had one hand on my back and it would stop but I felt her just holding her hand on my back - she was clearly distracted. 6. Not relaxing because of road now. It's by the street. You will hear cars, motorcycles, and the coaster coming by, not relaxing at all. It was more relaxing in the garden and walking around the garden. It was truly a disappointment and for $180, I was looking forward to a bit of an relaxing time with a friendly masseuse and a better set up of comfort. One of the most unique massage experiences around SD! My husband booked a surprise couples massage here & it's been my favorite place for a massage & facial. Walking into the garden spa feels so zen with their impressive garden setup with a Koi pond, waterfall, bridges over little streams of water, gazebos with chairs to relax & of course the lush variety of plants that is befitting the name! The massage itself is in a private little hut that makes you feel like you're in a tropical island somewhere! All the massages I've received has been perfect & relaxing & I walk out feeling like I'm walking on clouds! It's a bit pricey but my experience has been great so I'd recommend this place to anyone that wants a unique experience & enjoys the nature feel rather going into concrete rooms! read more

I just had my first 1 hr massage with Nicole. I chose her based on your reviews here and im so glad I did! (Thank you) She's fantastic and just what I was looking for. Firm touch that still incorporated relaxing zen vibes. If its your first time going to this place, its a little tricky to find (right across the street from Panekin on the corner). I found close free parking on the 101, but apparently you can also park in the lot where there is a salon, juicery and sandwich shop. There's a lovely garden with koi pond and gazebo. So, if you get there while the door is closed (client service in progress) just hang out in the garden and apparently they know to wander out and look for you when it's your turn. Had a wonderful Saturday afternoon being pampered with a girlfriend. Making an appointment was challenging as no one ever picked up the phone and I got text replies at random hours. They do offer on line booking and now that I have tried and enjoyed their service I will use that option in the future. The location is a little difficult to find but it's just across the street from where the pannikin coffee shop is. We waited under the gazebo by the koi pond before our services. For being located right off the bust street it's surprisingly peaceful and beautiful. Refreshments would have been a nice touch while waiting. We chose the blissful package which was a massage and facial. We're walked to a little cottage room where both our services were done. Nicole was great and I loved my massage! Poor customer service, had to call several times, left a VM no callback, some text message. The area is busy, along the road so you can actually hear the cars. I asked if I can get 90mins massage because I have pain . They said YES!! Hard to get a parking, I arrived 10mins late before of parking, Therapist told me because I am late then we cannot finished the whole time. Thinking I have 90mins so I said OK. Then after few mins was surprise that the massage was already done. Therapist said, she can only do 60mins. So me getting 50mins massage for $150. I got this gift from my husband and it was a perfect amount to have 90Mins massage (best price for the time), not able to to do 90mins, means I need to comeback next time and pay even more just to use up everything. After 20mins of discussion with the owner, the therapist was still beside me so I dont understand why they cannot do 90mins. After talking to the owner, she offered to refund me the rest of the amount of my certificate so I dont have to come back If I dont want to. It's my first time and I think my last! I just hope they will improve their customer service to avoid this kind of misunderstanding. The owner apologized about the miscommunication but first impression last! First I will say my masseuse did a good job and the outdoor area with the water feature was very nice. My review isn't so much a reflection of her skills, but more the environment and communication leading up to my appointment. Overall I would not come back here as I was disappointed by a couple of things. First, I reached out to the owner before booking to ask if they had the pregnancy pillows that allow you to lay face down during your massage and she assured me they did. I really don't like when they try to do a prenatal massage on your side and you feel like you have to brace yourself the whole time to not roll off the table which is exactly what happened today. Their side lying pillow was pretty flat and didn't provide much support and honestly I wouldn't have booked here if I knew that was the case. Second, I know this is out of the business's control, but there is quite a bit of street noise from motorcycles and other vehicles driving down the 101. This yelp page also says there is a private parking lot for the spa which is not the case. It would have been nice to get a heads up that there is a major construction project going on in front of the business (not their fault) that took away the majority of the street parking nearby in an area where it's already challenging to park. I got there early but it was a struggle to find a spot and hustle over in time for service. read more

My husband and I just left here after a couples massage with Erin and Kristin (Kristen?)! We loooooved it. They had perfect pressure and were very responsive when we wanted more or less pressure. My husband isn't the type of person to talk about a treatment much after it's over, but this time, he was saying things like, "wow! We need to remember their names for next time. I wouldn't want to get someone else." And, "it was a little different than other massages, but I really liked it!!" And, "do you feel all loose and limber?? I do." Soooo I think he loved it haha. We struggled for a second when we arrived to find it, since the only real sign for the place is on that says The Healing Crystal or something. We parked by Dollhouse boutique and a woman there was kind enough to show us to the garden. You walk past the salon to the right of Dollhouse through a little gate (next to the garbage cans - the only negative!) and there were a few little places back there, one of them being The Garden. We also could've turned after Pannekin and did street parking and come in from there (thus avoiding the trash-adjacent gate). We can't wait to come back!! It was awesome!!!!! read more

I am so picky with massages because of my background as a massage therapist, instructor, and spa manager. Add chronic pain issues to that and you can be sure I'm discerning. Kristen was everything I hoped for. She is a strong therapist and gave me the pressure I needed- which was deep. The space was darling and the temperature was perfect. I am allergic to fragrance and am ever so thankful the sheets had no dryer sheet or detergent scent. They use high grade therapeutic essential oils only and there was a faint rose scent I found uplifting. The massage was so incredible I didn't even care that someone's car alarm kept going off on the 101 just outside - any other day it would have driven me bonkers. I wasn't thrilled to hear that Pannikin people came over all chatty and buzzed on coffee but they have signs up asking them to be respectful and I didn't hear anyone. I walked into the garden spa in pain and with frayed nerves and I left feeling like I had just had an hour vacation. The only thing I would change would be to add more comfortable seating outside especially on the gazebo. A chaise or cushy lounge chair would be amazing. On my way out I got a beautiful sage plant from Neel's nursery. Honestly if money were not an object I would book with Kristen almost every week. Perhaps she'll be seeing me at least once every two months though. I love that this place is a walk away from my home. What a gem! read more

After a stressful and physically taxing few weeks I needed to treat myself to a hour or so of "me" time. I hunted for a spa or massage therapist near my stylists office (as I had an appointment later in the evening) and the adorable little house RIGHT next door to where I get my hair cut turned out to be a haven. Dora, the massage therapist, is a unique and lovely soul - she hails from Hawaii and brings all the Island aloha friendliness along with her. I waited near the bubbling fountains outside the little cabin where she houses her business. It was a delightful start to wait surrounded by nature. Leave it to Dora to have a garden island in the middle of Encinitas! I schedule the "sweet treat" package which was an hour massage with a facial. The massage was one of the best I've ever had. Many people are not aware, but I've had extensive surgeries due to an accident years ago and have over two lbs. of metal in my body. After working hard on event set ups and tear downs and being on my feet a ton lately, a massage, some heat therapy and a caring therapist is soooo needed to set me right. This was a perfect 90 minutes! Dora works deep tissue and listens to your body, but she'll walk on you too if that's okay - truly! I've never had a Thai sort of styled massage before and while it was 90% deep tissue and relaxation massage, Dora using all her limbs felt amazing too! The facial was lovely - and I just have to say the atmosphere was really clean, warm and nurturing. Dora has the perfect amount of positive spirituality and genuine care to really connect with her clients. She made me feel calm and more centered after a lot of recent ups and downs. In early March 2022, I booked 3 facials directly with the owner Sue for the day before Mother's Day 5/7 for my 2 daughters and myself. Sue said that she would contact another aesthetician to be sure we could get all 3 facials scheduled for 10 am. She said she would contact me if she was unsuccessful in getting another aesthetician and if I didn't hear back from her, then we would be all set for our 5/7 appointments. I completed the on line request for all 3 facials and thought we were all set. When we arrived, the employee said we did not have an appointment and had the owner Sue call me directly. Sue said she received my request but never made the reservations. All she said was "So sorry" and that was it. Now that the mood is set, her real work begins. Dora brings her Aloha touch from Kauai into every muscle, joint, and region of soreness. This woman can be delicate or as strong as you want. My mom got the Dora treatment and wanted strong hands-no wimpy stuff- to work her knots and forever painful past injuries away. Dora far exceeded her expectations. Dora will send you into a state of bliss and work out toxins, kinks, and pains like no other. Now onto her waxings. Okay, this is the real thing. Dora is a native Brazilian giving authentic Brazilian waxings. She uses her own unique recipe of all natural beeswax that quickly removes all unwanted hair with less pain and no mess. I was totally freaked out to get my first Brazilian Wax on the punani, but Dora made it all okay and me a fan.
