No pressure during the massage really just felt as if someone was rubbing my back I asked for a 30 minute just to check out the place. We are regulars and have had many great experiences here. Very nice people and a comfortable space. I wish they would ask ahead of time what pressure you want, if anything in particular hurts that you want worked on, etc., but they just kind of jump in and do their thing if you don't make a point of saying something. They also are often short-staffed (not the ladies' fault, this is a management issue) so sometimes the masseuse will run to pick up the phone or welcome someone into the studio while they're in the middle of your massage, which is distracting and takes me out of the "zone". I'd give 5 stars if these couple things were addressed. We really do enjoy coming here. read more

Where to start? Booked a couples massage. Arrived 10 minutes early since we assumed there would be the customary paperwork to fill out for a first visit. Nope! They rudely told us they weren't ready and rather offer us a seat to wait told use to come back at the exact time. Not a problem since they didn't do any paperwork anyway. The room was way too small and both of us were repeatedly bumped by the masseur working on the other person. The place is located over a bar and a noisy parking lot. The majority of the time we were there the room was filled with the sounds of traffic, trains, and drunks downstairs. At the end of the massage they basically demanded more tip waving their "suggested tip" sign in our face. The massage itself was below average. Mostly just hard kneading in random patterns. If they were using licensed massage therapists, they got their certs on the internet. read more

I'm very picky about bodywork and massage. This place is great.. Not fancy at all but it gets the job done and is a clean facility. Nico was my massage therapist and I will use her going forward. This place is such a gem! I got a same day app. Super clean, nice and quiet. All Covid measures followed. I felt very safe. I hadn't had a massage since Covid started so I'm happy to report this was a great small business to support. I felt violated on every level and would never return to this spa. They must've called in a masseuse last minute since he didn't seem to have experience. He snuck my panties half way off and took a peek at my boobs when I turned "accidentally" uh I don't think so. It was awkward and very creepy. I have to give a five star review for the amazing and affordable massage I received at Solana Spa when the other Thai massage place up the street dropped the ball on my appointment. I was in so much pain when I arrived and because I have had chronic pain for ten years I have had many, many massages. I also used to manage a massage spa so I am no stranger to both good and bad massages. My massage with Coco was excellent! She was able to do the deep work that I needed on my neck muscles and along my spine. I left with one hundred percent pain relief and now I have my found my new regular therapist. While I wish the massage tables and face cradles were a little softer and more comfortable than the ones that they have, the massage itself is five star! Coco found lots of trigger points and worked on them and she didn't at all rely on elbows which was wonderful! I'll be back next week!!! read more

I have had thousands of massages over the years and this is perhaps the worst ever. imagine a very extreme light touch in slow motion where you just want the massage to end ASAP because the person giving the massage has no ability to create an enjoyable connection between whatever they are doing and what you are experiencing. What a disappointment on so many levels. I called ahead to book two 1 hour reflexology massages for 8:00pm after a long day of adventures. The first thing that went wrong was that she asked me to pay for the massage before we even started. I didn't have any cash, so I included my tip so the total was $102.00 for two massages. As we were seated in the reflexology room chairs, we could hear the sounds of the patrons next door sitting in the patio having conversations and laughing about and the lights from the walkway came right through the sheer curtains used to block the windows. After they put our feet in warm water she began her massage by pinching my trapezius muscles, or should I say, lightly patting them. I hoped that this was just some kind of joke, and this was not a tell of what the rest of the massage was going to be like. I was so utterly disappointed by the level of pressure, or actually, non-pressure used to massage every part of my body. She gently patted, my arms, legs and feet. NO PRESSURE WAS USED on any part of my massage. It was terrible and frustrating and there was no recourse since I had to pay and tip ahead of time. This place is a joke and a rip-off. DON'T GET A MASSAGE HERE! We moved from Carlsbad to Solana, and we used to go to Carlsbad's Best Massage off of Poinsettia, and this was so far below any level of what a massage could be called. Carlsbad's Best Massage is where it's at, and they really know how to give a reflexology massage with professionalism and the right amount pressure. read more

Their gold package w a bit of everything in the massage was wonderful. While I didn't get her name, the masseuse did a deep massage that hurt at times because I have been so tight. She would back off yet maintain the quality of the massage. Hot stones and lighter techniques were also put to good use. At the end of two hours I was delightfully wrung out. I'm sorry to be writing this because the massage therapist worked very hard but I don't think they were adequately staffed for the flood of Groupon buyers! The spa itself is very clean and well appointed. The appointment I made was not recorded correctly so when we arrived, the one gal had to juggle times but that was fine. We went to dinner next door first! The problem was that there was no one to answer the phones and my poor masseuse had to keep leaving the room to answer it! If I could I would give this place ZERO stars. DO.NOT.GO.HERE. I received the WORST massage experience I have ever experienced. The massage therapist ( if you can call her that) placed a thin bed sheet on my body and proceeded to do 90% of the massage by placing her hands OVER the bed sheet. There was barely any hand to skin contact. Also, when I first arrived, I wanted a one hour body massage and a one hour foot massage and the lady at the desk as well as the therapist seemed flustered by this saying "that was a lot of time" ( I arrived at 4:30PM and they do not close until 9PM so it could not be a time issue). Later I discovered the therapist was in a rush as she had to pick up her child from school. In any case, I cancelled the foot massage once I realized this was a total SCAM. Also, the lady at the desk asked me if I had cash? I said I had a credit card and so she said that would be fine. Only AFTER I received the massage did she say there would be an extra charge for using a credit card. I tried to explain to her that this was not legal as credit card fees are only charged when a purchase is less than $10. Ridiculous. This is what I get for trying to cut costs by going for their "massage deal". Next time I will use a professionally trained massage therapist and pay the $60 to $100 fee. What a TOTAL WASTE of $$$$. read more

Visited a nice spa in Solana Beach called Solana Spa. First of all the spa was very clean and it had a atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The two therapists I tried May and Lisa were excellent. You could immediately tell that this was going to be a great massage because they knew how to apply pressure without being rough. They were always making sure I was comfortable and even had the room and table heated on a rainy chilly day that I visited. I will definitely return again. read more
