Found them on Google, called ahead, and was told to come in at 3 for SNS. I arrived at 3:10 on a Sunday to a nearly empty salon, which was surprising for a weekend. The front desk lady asked what I wanted and called across the salon to a young man who was working on nail decals solo. He visibly did not want to stop what he was doing. With only two people in the shop, someone had to help me, and that fell on him. While he finished up, the front desk lady was actually sweet about the service. She brought over colors and even suggested a fun option: a clear SNS base with gel polish on top for a jelly color effect. I loved the idea and agreed. When he was ready, he held his hands out without a word and got to work. No greeting, no conversation. He soaked my nails in what I can only describe as boiling water before filing everything off, which was genuinely painful. When I mentioned the jelly color technique the lady suggested, he said it wasn't possible, started doing my nails anyway, and never explained further. The paint job was rough. It looked like I did it myself with my non dominant hand. The whole service felt rushed despite the salon being practically empty, which made it more frustrating given that I called ahead specifically to be considerate of their time. Five days later my nails are destroyed. The SNS has cracked on most fingers and taken chunks of my actual nails with it. The gel polish is flaking off. Press ons would have held up better. Would not recommend for walk ins. If you go, make sure you have a dedicated nail tech you trust.

This rating is more of a 3.7…read more The salon is a brand new addition to the neighborhood . It is aesthetically pleasing and is equipped with a large amount of nail desks and pedicure chairs. Everyone was very sweet. I was greeted promptly upon entering and once I was seated the staff all ensured that I had a refreshment. For my services I got a pedicure and a full set. The pedicure was was pretty standard and they have about 6 or 7 variations to choose from. The young lady that I had spent a lot of time on the scrubbing and massage. I could tell that she was either new to the pedicure offering or just had forgotten what all came with as she seemed to ask the young lady doing my nails occasional questions after completing steps. Overall I was content with this service. My nail lady was very sweet, but forgot a couple of key components when completing my set. The first was the length. I typically wear my nails pretty long and the image that I showed for my design had a decent length. Somehow I ended up with short nails (short for my liking) after one was cut without inquiring what length I desired. They also didn't appear to have the flat clear nail tips, only the white curved tips. The next component was that my design inspiration featured a specific color scheme of which I was told was a powder color and not a polish after the fact (she had already laid clear acrylic). She was able to pick out a decent pink polish and that made things ok. The last thing was the shaping. I requested a narrow square of which we did several different filings to get it narrow, but they still seem kind of wide to me and don't have sharp corners like I'd like. I couldn't bear to have the poor lady do anymore filing after so many filing sessions, so I just let them be.. The design I selected was completed successfully and looked just like the image. Overall, I'd definitely go back for another pedicure. I'm still on the fence about the full set as shaping and nail art are very important to me. Oh and sidebar- my gel was removed with the drill and not by soaking. I know that's important to some people.

Now the negatives: - the guy who did my new set was fast, but he definitely does not know how to shape nails. They were straight on one side, and rounded on the other (see picture). I asked him to fix one and he seemed clueless about what the issue was and I needed to leave so I didn't bother getting them fixed. I should have gotten them fixed though because they just don't look neat like I like them. I like my shape really clean looking. - soooooo many fruit flies! Like why??? - parking is a nightmare. Do not go during rush hour. If they can fix these issues, maybe get a few designated spots in the parking lot, then it could be a great salon.

I came in knowing I wanted Valentine's nails but didn't have every detail figured out, and she took her time walking me through everything. She was incredibly kind, patient, and professional from start to finish. Vivian made sure the shape was perfect, the artwork was clean and detailed, and the colors came together beautifully. She consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable and happy, which meant a lot to me. Her energy and vibe were amazing so positive, welcoming, and calming. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I left feeling confident, satisfied, and excited to show my nails off. I will absolutely be coming back, and I can confidently say Vivian is now my go-to nail tech. If you're thinking about booking, don't hesitate ask for Vivian.

I spent over $100 plus gave tips to both of my techs. My pedicure was serviced by Linda, who was sweet & did a great job on my pedicure. The quality of the SNS nails, serviced by John, was another story! Not only did they not look the best but within 3 days of my SNS nails, the nail on my index finger started peeling off from the base of my nail.I was not able to come back until the night before the snow storm, 1-9-25 to get it corrected due to my work schedule. Google stated they closed at 8pm.I arrived in the parking lot literally at 7pm and saw the OPEN sign was turned off so I called. The guy at the front desk refused to allow me to get it fixed after I explained I checked their salon hours on google, drove all the way there, and the nail came off in only 3 days. He didn't care and told me "everyone" knows they take the last customer at 7pm for the last 2 years.Clearly, not everyone! I suggested they change the hours listed on google from 8pm to 7pm because it's misleading & inaccurate.Nevertheless, he still provided terrible customer service based on the circumstances. He cared not one ounce since they had already taken my money + tips. I then texted the tech, Linda to advise of my experience with the front desk guy and John, who did my nails.I explained that I would likely not return because of the poor customer service and advised her that I was planning to write a review (which I did not do).She encouraged me to return and come directly to her next time and she will do both my SNS nails and pedicure.I arrived this evening around 5pm and presented my receipt and nail issue . The same guy at the front desk told me I would be charged because it was the 11th of January. Are you kidding me? You know it was a snow storm and you know I came on the 9th. No apology or anything!Furthermore, he proceeds to tell me he read my text message to Linda then LIED telling me I had already written the review ( even after I advised it had not yet been written). He looked dumb when I told him to show it to me as I had planned to wait for today's visit before deciding to post a review. Rather than doing the honorable and professional thing, you still try to charge me?!!! So Here You Go, Here is Your Review, Chan Bay Nails on Flat Shoals Pkwy! I will cross post this review on as many sites as I think of! I have time today! You will never get another penny from me! You come into our neighborhood, take our money,...then give us CRAPPY customer service. I Implore Everyone to Avoid This Location By All Means!!! There are plenty of other shops who provide quality, exceptional work, and give superior customer service! I'm willing to bypass this convenient location and return to where my business is valued, respected, and appreciated! Tighten up, Chan Bay Nails!! May You Lose Every Potential Customer reading this review! I should have read the reviews before even deciding to return! You STILL need training! Your lack of professionalism, concern, & unwillingness to fix one nail (that would have taken less than 5 mins) will now cost you more customers. What a Complete JACK*SS the front desk guy is! Review from 2019: I waited 15 to 20 mins for a pedicure and signed in. A lady just came in and asked how long the wait was for a pedicure and manager said 20 mins or less. Shortly after he asked me wasnt I there for a pedicure, which I confirmed. The lady picks her color and he immediately tells her to go to the pedicure chair! I told him I was there first, he said sorry, said something else really fast & inaudible but turned his face away in GUILT! He clearly knew I was there first. I walked out to never return! Wasted my time! How unprofessional and unfair. Very poor customer service!! They will never get my business again. Beware...heard it happens often! They invested in the beauty of the shop but need to invest in customer service training!
