Visited here again. It's been my 4th time Or so. I think the staff has changed drastically since my first visit. It's more young people who can be a little distracted with each other other than doing the toes. My tech didn't seem too interested in my service and it showed. She wasn't rude or anything just kinda "bleh". Minimal work and effort and my gel polish chipped off a few of my toes a few days later. I'll give it one more try. Welcome Feather Nail Bar to Avondale. A beautifully designed quaint nail experience right in the heart of the square. This is a black, female owned and operated business. The owner Catrina (with a C) is a friendly, educated, hands on owner who has created a wonderful concept exactly where we needed one. Her staff is mainly from Asia, my technician Julianna is from Viet Nam so we hit it off right from the start as my beautiful DIL is also from Viet Nam and it's their Luna New Year this weekend!! I received the essential pedicure. Products are all packaged separately which I loved because no cross contamination for the scrubs and lotions! They have a wide variety of services including nails, waxing and lashes. Opi is the polish both in gel and regular. They also have SNS as well. Catrina greets each client with a warm and friendly smile. Masks are worn from all and technicians wear gloves. Plexi plastic separates you from the technician. Temperature checks are mandatory as is hand washing prior to picking out your color. You also have your choice of bottled water, mimosas, white or red wine. A client asked if this was a Valentine's special and Catrina said no "it's a feather thing" Julianna did an amazing deep tissue massage on my legs and feet. The pedicure was one of the best ones I've had honestly. My feet really needed pampering and when better than before Valentine's Day! Please support this business and tell Catrina hello for me. Cute nail bar and the staff were pleasant and sweet however it is unreasonably expensive for what they offer. This is cute small shop in Avondale, not a luxury salon. They charge $60 for a regular plain no frills mani pedi (file, cut cuticles and polish) which is fine. However they charged me an additional $25 dollars (essentially the cost of the entire mani itself) just for gel polish on my hands only! For $25 I could buy 2 bottles of gel polish and bring in my own. I paid $92 (that includes the 15% tip I left) for the most basic of manicure/pedicures. I'm all for supporting small businesses but charging double for a manicure bc of gel polish is absurd (gel polish isn't even a exclusive luxury product anymore, they sell OPI at CVS!!) I would understand a $5-10 up charge but $25 up charge when the mani it self is $30 is not fair to customers. read more

This nail bar is better than any other I've been to in the Avondale/Downtown Decatur area. It's a cute, clean shop. The color options are less than other salons, and that's a good thing! You won't spend an hour trying to decide which red is more red. If you know you want a bright pink with a touch of purple, they have that. But not a dozen variations of the same color. I got the basic pedicure. Service was very fast, but friendly, and exactly what I asked for. COVID protocols were good. They took our Temps and made us wash our hands before picking our colors. There was plexiglass between the customers and another sheet with a cutout to protect the nail techs. Each seat was sanitized after the customer left. There's free parking on the street in front. If that's full, then you can park behind the Tudor building for free as well. read more

I enjoyed my experience and like my nails, BUT... Currently, the prices listed online are unclear. I booked an appointment for an essential manicure and a classic pedicure - I came in with the intention of paying the price for the essential manicure ($35) and was under the impression it included the acrylic full set or at the most an additional $15/$20. The acrylic full set was an additional $45. Plus there was an additional $20 for a basic design with no jewels. I ended up paying $100 for just my nails which is astronomical. Salons in my hometown in California do not even charge that much. The prices or range of prices should be made clear on the website per service (gel, acrylic and designs) so clients are aware of the prices they are going to pay. I was looking forward to returning but unfortunately I will not because the prices are way too high. I hope my feedback is taken under consideration and fair changes to the prices are made. It pains me to give this review. I booked an appointment well in advance for the day before my wedding to get a signature manicure and pedicure. They didn't have the color I selected and I probably should have left. The front desk person was lovely and helped me select a different color. My manicurist left bubbles and smudges in both my fingers and toes. It looks gloppy, and that is tough to fix, as I paid extra for gel. I was given suggestions for how to make it look better, I guess the color I ultimately chose was boring? I would rather have gotten an really well done boring manicure and pedicure than the $180 disaster that I am stuck with for what is a big life event. I am heartbroken. read more

I walked up to feather nail bar and even though they were busy they booked me the same day at 6:30 pm . They definitely went the extra mile to get me in the same day and I was in desperate need since I had to get SNS off and my nails looking good for company. The woman that booked me was so sweet. They are very Covid conscious there which is awesome. The facilities are super clean and beautiful. They offered me a large glass of red wine during my service. Nail technician was also very kind and she did a great job with my problem nails. You made them look very chic and summer ready! Love it and I'll definitely be back for my beauty needs!
