This place is a real pain to deal with. I called in mid-October to make a mani-pedi appointment before a trip about 2 weeks out, and the best they could do was 4-5 weeks out. Apparently they have one nail person and she gets booked out far in advance. I was disappointed but ultimately okay with it because I figured she must do good work to be so booked up. The day before my appointment, I was texted and asked to re-schedule my appointment two different times, then ultimately had my appointment canceled on me via text with a request to reschedule. I responded to that text and let them know my preference, and never heard back. Four days later (today, 11/20/12), I decided to text to see if we could still reschedule my appointment. I let them know that I was not happy dealing with them, and that I really didn't have time to play games. I was then told the next appointment they would be able to give me would be January 5 -- that is 6+ weeks away. Unacceptable, especially considering that I was canceled on last minute and already had to wait so long to book in the first place. I will not being doing business with Glitter, and would not recommend them to anyone I know if asked. read more

Purchased a $27 coupon ($55 value) off of Amazon, gel mani/ reg pedi... This place is small & quaint the staff is friendly enough & all speak english. My experience here was totally different from what I'm used to at other nail salons. Selections of colors were few and far from summer colors, may behove you to bring your own. Didn't get the full massage with the pedi only a 60 second or so foot rub, no hand/arm massage with the mani either. Also no chair massage actually after sitting up on that bench I now need a full body massage (backache). The mani/pedi itself turned out awesome best looking I ever had! No polish residue on nail bed even smooth strokes of polish. Would go again and refer to others but not in a hurry to do so. Day 2 gel mani has chipped already! read more

I used to look forward to my nail appointment Saturdays. After moving back to LA, I'm a little hesitant to look for another salon. Desiree is great at what she does. My sister and I have been going to her salon for just over a year. After sitting with Desiree the first appointment, both my sister and I knew that we would be coming back. The salon is clean and well kept. I'd always look forward to letting Desiree be creative while doing my gel manicure every two weeks oh and the salon conversations - quite amusing - Yay! The great thing about Glitter Salon is the variety of colors she keeps stocked. More than 75% of the gel product she uses is OPI. I like to think of Desiree as an OPI gel manicure connoisseur. She's set the standards high for me and I don't know if I can find a person as good as her in LA. Not only is her work impeccable but the salon environment is very welcoming. If you're looking to book, be sure to call in at least 3 weeks in advance to get an appointment, yes she's that good! read more

OMG! Ms.Desiree is extremely nice, amazingly beautiful, and incredibly talaented! She definitely knows what she is doing. I've never been to her other location but her new location screams upscale I mean super upscale, I thought I was in the Biltmore. Overall if you are looking for something unique, fun and festive I'd definitely give her a try. Glitter Nail Salon is wonderful. Desiree is a very nice, kind hearted person. I got a pedicure. The service is one-on-one. I really liked the fact she is a "one man show". also appreciated the fact my feet were soaked in a bowl as opposed to the traditional spa. The sugar scrub was heavenly, while the hot towels sat on my feet, I watched her clean and sanitized basin my feet had soaked in. That was a plus. Very cute set up, I highly recommend! After visiting and getting my nails done at Glitter Nail Studio it has really changed my perspective on what the meaning of quality and excellent customer service means. At Glitter Nail Studio they really care about the quality of work that they do. Every 2 weeks they listen to what my needs are and treat me as if I was the only customer in the world. I tried out this place just the other day. Told my tech that I liked my nails short, the length that they were already at. But my tech continued to clip my remaining acrylics, (3 fell off prior to my appointment). Clipped them down shorter then what I prefer. I also thought that since I had a few missing that she would replace them. She filed down my natural nail and proceeded to paint them. So now I don't even have a full set that match and 3 of my nails have chipped paint and 1 nail has begun to fall off, all because of how short they are. I have a considerable amount more, but needles to say, I will not be returning. read more

This review is based on MY experience and MY opinion: For staters, the "spa" pedicures are done while one sits on horribly uncomfortable WOODEN BENCHES not a spa pedicure chair (I'm not sure why they call it a "spa pedicure" this establishment is anything but a spa) The establishment consists of an almost empty room with what appears like home-made benches, bar stools no less and poorly hung up curtains to divide the space... Very cheap looking. You also better get a pedicure BEFORE you get a pedicure at this place as they barely did anything to the callouses on my feet. Honestly I could have simply soaked and painted my own toe nails if that's all I wanted. They didn't even ask me if I wanted callous remover... Even if I had to pay extra. The didn't offer. After they left callouses on my feet I saw no use in the "sugar rub" at this point as my back wouldn't have tolerated sitting on their bench any further. I was so unhappy that I didn't get the full set of acrylics that I originally wanted. I gave my business to a nail salon. I would not recommend this place. *****And the salon's reply to my original review simply confirms excuses as to why they didn't provide the same quality services I normally get at my regular salon. I used a living social coupon that was gifted to me. I should have gracefully declined. Live and learn. This "salon" if you want to call it that, is in one room. It's about the size of a home office and yet they do all of their manicures, pedicures, and hair styling/coloring etc right there in the same room. You absolutely have to have an appointment (no walk-ins) and it feels very cramped in the room the entire time. I got a mani/pedi combo from a Groupon and did not get what I feel is enough of an experience there. My manicurist was 10 minutes late, and after my fingers were done, I had to wait 30 minutes for my pedicurist to show up. I had to sit there while my feet were in some luke warm foot bath while I waited for her to get there. I made sure to be on time, even 5 minutes early and it didn't matter. Nobody was very professional, it was like we were all BFFs and it was early, I was exhausted, and all they had was an 8am appointment that I had to drag myself out of bed for only for them both to be late. I ended up staying 3 hours just to get my nails done. I could have left earlier but they did not have any sandals for me. read more

I had a horrible experience. I had a shellac manicure, it peeled the next day, I went backand she did it again, 2 hours again. I thoght I would gtive her another chance and my nails again chipped and broke the same day. Obviously not a place to return too. But I was billed yesterday "green receipt" for a visit I never made. When I texted her, Desiree, she was rude and unprofessional. saying that I did not call to cancel my appt. This gives her the right to charge my credit card???? Desiree sets very high standards for both herself and co-workers. No work can be less than perfect. She takes her time and my nails are always evenly filed and the polish is flawless. She uses quality products and most surprising is that my polish survives at least a week even with my rough wear. read more

The most egregious customer service experience of my life!!! When attempting to book my appointment, we had I had a discrepancy about providing an email address. I asked if I would be sent spam mail to the email address I provided, the nail tech said YES, so I said I would prefer not to leave one. She refused to book my appointment and hung up on me. This cannot be best customer services practices for any business. Be sure to read the full list of policies before you purchase a groupon. They only service groupon clients on 1 saturday a month and dont accept walk ins or same day appointments. You can tell that get all of their business from groupon clients because, like myself, groupon clients are looking for a deal and might fail to research adequately. I wouldnt trust any salon that you have to keep a credit card on file at. They aren't even a real salon because they dont even have a pedicure chair. Who wants to put their feet in a bowl? I can do that at home. They wont be in business long. They are extremely poorly operated and are far from customer friendly. They have a laundry list of items that clients must agree to. It's insane. My husband and I laughed hysterically as we read the list of "Policies" after I was hung up on. I've advised all of my facebook friends and anybody else that I care about not to bother with this place. They're crazy. read more

Don't buy the coupon they are offering. I bought one then headed to the salon, and the lady tells me that she is by appointment only. If that is the case, they should put that information on the coupon, screw that place go to splendid nails on 5th Ave and Thunderbird. Ask for Nina or Heidi, they are amazing.
