This review is based off my latest experince only. I went in for a gel pedicure with my usual tech Lee, but she was busy. While waiting for her I decided on a full set. Lee doesn't do acrylic, so I ended up with another nail tech who glued on my tips. I should've known that it would not go well for me after that. The tech that put on my tips did such a sloppy and rushed job. She actually ended up using so much glue that some of my skin was glued all around the sides of my nails & underneath my nails. Lee was able to do my pedicure eventually and did a great job! She always does! However, the foundation that the tech who did my tips laid was terrible & when I made my way to the next tech for my acrylic (the owner I believe) he spent time trying to clean up the corners and edges of my nails (he uses he thumb nail to do this). In the midst of that he cut me, and I was bleeding on the side of my ring finger nail. I didn't say anything just to see if he'd acknowledge what happened because I clearly wasn't bleeding when I sat down in his chair! When he got back to my ring finger & saw that my finger was bleeding, he said "Oh it was the nail file that scratched you, it's a new one". I said, it was your nail. He sprayed the cut with aclohol and proceeded to do my full set. Ultimately, I wasn't satisfied with my full set at all. It was EXTREMELY sloppily done, and it wasn't until I got home & showed my boyfriend the cut on my finger & he referred to it as a GASH and not a cut, was I regretful for not speaking up in that moment! I will return because I like Lee.. she does a great job on my gel nail, pedi & brows. I will never venture out & get a full set here again! read more

I absolutely love this nail salon! Came in for the first time and did just a pedicure. I was so impressed by how thorough and patient my technician was. Best pedi I've had in years! I love how many options they have on their pedi menu. My second time in was with Vincent for my typical overlay. They use very high quality gels and powders. Today, i returned for the third time to have my fill-in and Im just as impressed as the first time. It is a true representation of the establishment. I recently moved to MD from IL. Found this place on Tix Tox. I was very skeptical about trying some place new. But, I will say that this was worth the 30 minute drive. Although it was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon, and I had to wait about 20 minutes to be taken care of, Vincent did a absolutely amazing job! I paid 90 dollars with tip for a French manicure and French pedicure. They were understaffed and took more people in when they didn't even finished my manicure or pedicure. They rushed to get my nails done that they they cut my cuticles too deep that it hurt for a few weeks. My gel manicure had hair in it and all they did was paint over it and it still has hair or dust. Perhaps they need to clean their light. My white portion of my pedicure was not painted well and all they did was correct it with acetone and left the clear portion unpainted with no clear coaT. I would recommend that they have more staff or don't take too many they can't handle. Giving them a star because my nails do look good and they removed my callus very well. read more

I got a gel manicure at this salon. When I got outside the salon in the light, the application of the polish appeared to be thin, but I chalked it up to the color of the polish that I chose. I was so wrong. After 1 week, the polish was chipping. I would have gone right back to complain, but I was on vacation as I had left the morning after getting my manicure. If I do go back to this salon, I will have a different person do my nails, and I will pay more attention to the number of applications and the appearance of the nail polish. read more

I got an acrylic fill in and gel pedi by Tina last weekend. With all the beautiful pics on the reviews, I was excited to go here and become a regular. I had an appt for 1pm and she text me 2 hours before asking if I can come in 30 mins...I compromised and came an hour early. When I got there she had a girl in her chair so I had to wait. I got kinda annoyed by that and then a rude man working there kept telling me "pick a color" like i don't know that's code word for there's a wait. I had already sent Tina pics of what I wanted so she should already know the color....ANYWAYS the pedi was fine. She shaped my nails ok for the fill in but some are crooked, my left pinky nail broke off after a week and my gel pedi is chipping already. She didn't follow instructions when I asked her to mirror the design on both hands so it looks weird, my cuticles look really crusty and she got an attitude when I asked her why she didn't put 2 coats of polish on the design and just told me "we don't do that". Oh and I asked her to add a little white swirl to my design. She did try it but I could tell she didn't understand what I wanted so she wipes it off and to shut me up just said "no, white look weird" so I gave up and let it go. Idk, I wanted to like this place but they acted like they think they're too good to be nice and give good service so I'm gonna find somewhere else to go...3 stars bc the place was clean. read more

I tried this nail salon this past Friday for the first time. I went in for dip powder on my natural nails. The nail tech did not do a good job filing my nails and that is very important to me when deciding on a nail tech. I just wanted them square and that was not done to my liking. She also filed the heck out of my cuticles which is painful. I've also never had dip done on my nails without having them finished off with gel. I don't know what she used but I had to go home file it off and apply gel. I'm definitely not a happy customer. Not sure if I'll go back. read more

I had to write this review my first time doing so. My gf and I were In the Elliott city Pro Nail 1 we just wanted polish change never have we been. They were ok at first and it quickly turned left, they did not care what we said they were rude unprofessional and asked us personal question And continuously talked about us, I asked for regular polish then changed my mind because she said it would take 2 hours to dry so of course I said give me Gel,I asked the owner if they had a chart with nail colors she rudely gave it to me the one doing my nail said it will be $30 for polish change and for no reason had a big attitude. I came in for a gel manicure and left super disappointed. After 1 hour half of my nail came off and the left one completely smudged. After doing the entire thing the nail tech said the polish was old - if she knew that why did she continue to do the whole thing?! After an hour of fussing with it she wanted to redo the whole thing but I didn't have time. My sister had complimentary paid for it already. Just got back from my second manicure at this place. I'm kind of a manicure slut meaning I don't have a steady place I only go to. After this past visit I won't be going back.This salon is near my work so its easy for me to come over on my lunch hour. The first time I went I had gel nail polish and it was fine - lots of colors to pick from. This last time, however I just got a regular manicure. First off, they don't have many colors to pick from. I tend to go with the pinks and neutrals on my fingers and there were like 2 colors to pick from. Second, the place is kind of ratty, they keep the nail brushes in a ritz peanut butter crackers plastic container. But last and the final straw, was when I want to pay, the pushy owner asked if I was getting my eyebrows waxed too. When I declined (I actually have an appointment tonight with my brow lady) she said "But you need it done, your eyebrows look terrible!" Seriously lady? I go to get my nails done for some pampering and to relax, not to be picked on. I won't be going back! read more

I've always been happy with the results. I use to live close by but now I'm all the way in Rockville so it's hard for me to take the time to drive there. I actually like this place so much that I will won't go to any other place. The girl who works at Nail Expo is very good at doing tips. She makes them thin and natural, which i love! A lot of other places makes them bulky. Shes also good with pedi and mani, full 2 coats plus a top coat. I'm always happy with the work they do, pedicures, manicures, tips. The only reason for 4 stars is because their prices are slightly high. But I will always continue to go there! Dont forget to bring cash for tip! read more

the nail salon is usually my haven to express myself creatively through nail design, shape, and overall aesthetics. since moving to MD, I struggled to a nail salon that delivered in ambiance and talent. in fact, getting my nails done here became a source of anxiety for me because I had to micromanage every tech for sloppy or painful work. I took a chance and visited Nail Expo based on the beautiful pictures that were posted. Vincent and his partner recently took ownership a few months ago and I am happy that they did. The salon is clean, calm, welcoming, and beautiful. Cherrie began with my pedicure. Despite the small language barrier, she was still super respectful, sweet, and gave me one of the best pedicures since I have been here. Vincent did my nails and he put the inspiration back in my heart. He was willing to examine the work that the last tech did and make recommendations for other services I may like in the future such as Gel X. he did a really neat job and he and I had a great time discussing and choosing colors etc for the abstract design that I wanted. I felt so comfortable and relaxed and happy. Infact, I am still gleeful from just looking at my hands and feet and enjoying how pretty they look; color, shape, designs... like they look so good. I absolutely recommend anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere, in a clean, updated, and friendly environment to get serviced here at Nail Expo. This place is nice. Clean, efficient, relaxing. The music was tranquil and otherwise the place is super quiet. I love that- I can't stand other places where the staff is gossiping the whole time or shouting across the salon. I got the upgraded spa pedicure for a reasonable cost and the massage was relaxing and callous removal was gentle. He gave me a bottle of cold water without me asking. I will go here again. Parking was easy and there was no wait. Minus one star because the lights were a little too bright for me. I'm surprised to see negative reviews but they are from a long time ago. read more

Don't waste your time getting a manicure or a pedicure. The nail technician was extremely rude where he was blaming me for his terrible job at painting my toes. The gel manicure is absolutely horrendous where he painted on my skin and just did not care at all. Really clean, they changed the owner couple years ago, his name is Peter and he is one of the best nail technicians in this area. I especially love the clean single use dry towels they have rolled up for you to use after washing your hands. All the staff is pretty nice. They do a lot of gel manis and pedis. Also, they have a very large section of regular polishes and gel colors with many different brands. Very high quality acrylic and gel powder too. read more
