I'm not happy with my final results. I got the eyebrow threading and tint service. The threading looked nice enough. It wasn't great, but I was unbothered because they were to be tinted anyway. Well, the tinting made it worse. First, they used the black tint instead of the dark brown. So it's DARK and noticeable. It wouldn't be an issue if the eyebrows weren't so uneven. Being dark makes it more obvious. The right eyebrow is perfect (EDIT: It is not. See updated photos. This looks terrible all around). The left eyebrow stops short and is a slightly different shape. You can see the mismatch. Even after pointing it out, it wasn't properly fixed. My brows look terrible and I'm sadly stuck looking this way until the tint wears off. The ladies were pleasant, though. I think the woman doing my brows was learning because the other woman had to come over and help her clean it up. Even with this added help, my brows still look embarrassingly bad. read more

COVID review: I was recommended by a friend to try this place out for eyebrow threading, and it did not disappoint! It's a bit hidden when you arrive to the Laurel Salon Plaza shopping center because it's not off of the main strip, but you have to walk down towards the old cinema. We literally called as we were walking up to check if they were open and where to find the shop, and she was able to let us into the building and assist us right away! By the way, the door to the building is locked, so you have to call to let them know to let you in. She was super sweet, clean and efficient. She did exactly what I wanted in terms of cleaning up my brows, but still keeping them full. She is affordable and definitely worth the trip! Also, they do accept credit cards. She gives you a stamp card when you finish, so after visiting 5 times, the next service is free! I will definitely be back when I need to get my eyebrows done. read more

Mamata did an excellent job with my eyebrows. This is only the second time that I have been brave enough to get my eyebrows done since Covid. Mamata took many precautions that made me feel very comfortable. Only three customers were allowed in the building at once, she sanitized the chair after each customer, she wore two masks, and she wrapped the thread around her head rather than holding it in her mouth. I was a little nervous going to get my brows done once they opened back up during COVID but the process was easy. I wasn't sure where it was because the Directions button tells you that it's after Chuckee Cheese on the left of it. It's inbetween Chuckee Cheese and Shoe City tucked in the corner. You go in the Salon Plaza (a place where independent hair/nails/etc rent spaces) and once you enter you see a reception desk at the front. Make a right once you enter and then make a left and then your first left in the little hallway- suite 126. You can also ask the reception desk. The space is like an small office space with it's own door. Has a bench and two reclining salon chairs, and big mirror on the wall with a countertop. There is also a big banner of the prices, the prices are comparable to the other places I've been to. $10 eyebrows and $7 upper lip. They also do henna tattoo and price is between $5-$20. I was a walk-in and it was my first time here. Mamata was the one there. She's nice. When she did the first eyebrow she gave me a small mirror to look at and let's you to check. Same with the right. I always forget when and how to place my fingers to help spread my skin, so when I placed it wrong-- she moved it for me. She asks if I wanted cream or oil to finish and I declined buy asked if I was sure. You can pay with a credit card, she enters the info on a mini tablet and you can also add tip (she'll ask you) and there are buttons on the screen to choose tip amount and you can enter an email or your number for a receipt. I was originally going to Forestville Mall to get my eyebrows threaded and then I found Shaz in Upper Marlboro, but now that I've moved to Laurel I have stumbled across this place. It's located in a shopping plaza all the way in the corner inside the salon park near Chuck E. Cheese & the House of Horror and Escape Room. When I walk into the salon Mamata welcomed me and asked me to have a seat in the chair seeing as though it wasn't busy at all.
