I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I made an appointment for 6pm and did not get in the chair until 6:45pm. I asked for French tip gel pedicure and the lady couldn't get the line straight so it was thick. Then, I asked for gel, red, French tip manicure, and had a different woman give that service. If this is the place by Brew haha in Rockford plaza- they will hurt you -save your money! I was cut 3x yesterday!! She cut my skin not once, not twice but 3x removing gel with the dremel tool. I begged her to stop hitting my skin to remove polish. I'm but and have red blisters from her shitty use of tool. I can peel the gel off without the tool. Then after she cut my skin the 3rd time- I said no more tool because she was cutting & hitting my skin! Then she but a solution which burned my skin on my feet. I said, "ouch that burns and you keep hitting my skin and cutting me!" I gave her $5 and said I was leaving. She threw my $5 at me started yelling at me in another language. Abuse! She left my feet with jacked up polish gel half removed. Unprofessional. Nasty ! No way I would recommend this place. Getting cut and she held my feet trying to stop me from leaving. I sat there for 25 minutes as I watched somebody walk in not knowing what they wanted asking about pricing he was immediately taken to the back. I arrived and there were several empty stations with the employees sitting there so they weren't busy. I was early for my appointment so I could take my time picking a color. As soon as I start looking they run over and grab the nail fans and tell me to go to a station and I said I haven't found my color but they move me anyway and grab more fans. Im sitting at the station and the guy grabs my hand to start putting foil on my nails so I'm trying to balance the fans and pick a color and putting the fan up to my other hand to see if it looked good and it was awkward to go this. I couldn't understand what the rush was for when there was nobody waiting in empty stations. Now that the color is off, I noticed I have a brown spot on top of one of my nails. I immediately look at the bottom of my nail to see if it's dirt or something and see a teeny strand of hair. I'm showing the guy that it looks like I have an infection or some thing and nobody speaks English. The one person that does can see my distress comes over and says it's the strand of hair which I remove with another nail but the stain is still there. She keeps saying it's hair but I've now cleaned my nails at the sink with a brush and stain still there. So this point I don't get a gel polish manicure I just get a regular manicure and I can say he did not do that great of a job the clear polish on top of my nail barely covers my whole nail and it's noticeable, and when he went to put cream on my hands, he barely touched my hands as if he was afraid of my my hands Manicure probably took him 15 minutes as I'm leaving. The owner or manager comes over and says it was the hair and I'm saying the brown spot was still there so it wasn't the hair so at this point I'm not sure if I have an infection or a bruise or what but I'm not returning it's not a very clean or neat place to go. I have been back here a couple of times and the quality has gone down since my last review. They no longer use fresh tools for each customer. In the middle of doing my gel mani the girl excused herself... I thought she would be right back but instead returned 10 minutes later after finishing off a pedicure someone else had started. After that point she did take her time. My moms manicure was so rushed she was done in less than 5 minutes and it showed. The space feels very cramped and they have a big table with nail supplies sitting in the middle of the shop. It's an ok place if you have to stay in Trolley Square and don't want to pay spa prices for a quick mani-pedi. read more

This is the worst salon I have ever been to. I have been to tiny salons in South Philly and posh salons that did not impress me. I like the small salons, they usually take the best care of you. I moved to the area and was so excited that there was a nail salon I could walk to. I called and made a 9:30 appointment. I got there around 9:15. The sign said open even though they were obviously closed. There were 2 people already waiting. Nail technicians started showing up at 10:00. I went in and was the only one with an appointment...but my technician still wasn't. there so they took the others first. I waited another 20 minutes before she walked in. The place was cluttered and unclean. It was not appealing at all. She rushed through my nails to get to the next person. Even though they looked very nice, they started to come off the very next day. They were all off 10 days later. What a huge disappointment. I wasted a lot of time and money since they talked me into the pedicure too. I've been here three times now and both experiences have been great. Today I called at 6:20 for a gel manicure and they said I could come in at 7. When I got in I asked if I could also get a pedicure and they said sure (which was nice since they're supposed to close at 7:30). She took her time on my pedicure. They used nice scrubbers and gave a little massage. Overall nice pedicure. I picked out a gel color and she actually suggested a similar color from a different brand that she said would come out better. Walked in here before they even opened at 9:25am, was the second customer in the store. The 5 workers didn't even acknowledge I was there, didn't ask what I wanted, didn't greet me, nothing. So, I carried on looking for a color. After 5 mins of me standing there, I said, "can you take me?" and told them what I needed. They said yes. After another 5-7 minutes of standing there, I said, "how long is the wait?" And she told me I'd have to wait until after 10am bc they had appointments. Asked them why they didn't tell me this when I first walked in and they said they didn't know. I have been here several times now and I'm now noticing low quality in their work. My gel manicure I had done one week ago has started to lift on several nails. When I get gel nails done I expect them not to lift or chip for at least two weeks given the higher price you pay. I don't think they follow all the correct steps to ensure your gel mani lasts. My pedi from last month has yellow discoloring through the polish. They do a nice job making sure your nails look good when you walk out, but the nails just don't last. The service was always good so no complaints there. I will just have to find a new place. read more

I asked my tech ( who was terribly unexperienced) if he could do the picture and he said yes but the results were horrific. Last week I went to Nail design for a gel manicure and pedicure. Everything about my experience was bad. The nail tech started with my pedicure. She massaged my legs for maybe 10 seconds and rushed through the entire thing. Once the pedicure was over, she told me to "wait in the chair." I was waiting for about 20 minutes until she finally came back to get me to start my manicure. Once again, the entire manicure was rushed and the nail tech was just flat out rude. She was being extremely aggressive and would get angry if I flinched. On top of all that, she lectured me for ~10 minutes about how terrible my eyebrows looked. She told me verbatim that my eyebrows "make me look like a little kid" and that I need "professional looking eyebrows." I get it's normal for a nail tech to suggest wax treatments, but she just took it way too far. I wasn't even going to bother posting a review, until I noticed my nails starting to chip after just 2 days. The pictures attached are my nails after one week. Definitely not going back. read more

Please do not go for a waxing here. I made the mistake of getting my arms waxed and they made my blood clot my pulling too hard and in the wrong direction. It was burning and they didn't even have ice to sooth the pain. Good for eyebrows but be never for more elaborate waxing. The place is also not very clean. read more

I've been to a lot of nail salons and this is by far the worst one yet. From the second I walked in, I was pretty much bossed around which doesn't fly with me. I had a man that was so rough with my nails and cuticles, it was unacceptable. The manicure was over after about 10 minutes, really enjoyable let me tell you. I usually bring my own polish every where I go, but I hadn't been home in a few days so I couldn't this time. I do that soley for the reason that most places polishes are either old and thick or old and watered down from all the acetone they pour in the bottle to make it last longer, which also makes your polish chip faster in case you didn't know. This was exactly the case with the polish I picked. It was thick and he poured the acetone in it right in front of me, bad move. This establishment also had base coat the color of oranges which will stain your real nails, not good. I asked him to use the top coat as base and top, he didn't seem happy but did it anyway. He also took it upon himself to put a third coat on some nails and not others which made the polish too thick and take ridiculously long to dry. I sat and dried and when I was ready to leave he suggested I stay and dry longer. I had had enough so I said no thanks. I went home and dried more than long enough and my nails were still tacky. In the end I removed my polish within a few hours because it kept getting nicks and was STILL tacky. After a few hours this should not have been the case. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Waste of a $15 manicure and $3 tip. Good luck. read more

This is my place to see Sonny for my nails. He is here most days and some days on kirkwood highway. The location of this nail place is right in the heart of trolley square. It's bright and clean. I always pre book with sonny especially on weekends otherwise I could wait a long time. They are lined up,for nails and pedicures here often. Sonny is a great nail tech who knows his stuff, I don't have anyone else do my nails but I use the other location and Bebe for my feet. His prices are very good as well. read more

I've been here before and was satisfied. However, i went in today for a set of acrylics. I told the man that's what I wanted. He asked long or short- I said short. I meant a shorter length on the acrylics. He proceeded to begin a regular manicure. I stopped him and said I wanted acrylics. He said I told him short nails, said multiple times that it was my mistake, and said if I wanted acrylics it would now be five dollars more than the regular price because I changed my mind. I paid 15 dollars for half a regular manicure. He was rude and unaccommodating. I just threw my money away. read more

There are a lot of nail places in trolley and I'd say this one is the best for quality and price. The staff is very nice and accommodating and you can tell they all take pride in their work. It can get pretty busy, especially at night. I try to go during my afternoon off. I actually went the other day on a Thursday around 1:30 thinking it would be less crowded. It wasn't crowded but they had an 8 person wedding party coming in at 2. I had requested a gel manicure and a pedicure. Due to time constraints they did the manicure and pedicure at the same time. I thought it was great and was in and out in under an hour! One comment I'll make is that everything I pay with my credit card, they ask for cash tip. I try to make sur I have cash for tipping now when I go. read more

The woman was extremely quiet most of my visit and it felt awkward asking her to repeat herself. I felt very rushed when picking out my nail color. Terrible service. The nail tech rushed my mom's manicure because it was busy. Did not push back her cuticles, shape her nails properly, ensure that the polish went on evenly..... basically did not do anything properly that a general manicure entails. We looked at her nails and the polish was slop: did not cover her entire nail bed, was see-through in some places and thick in others. I stood waiting for 45 minutes as they took other customers ahead of me while I was waiting. Don't bother going here. They only have time for you if it's not busy. I've been extremely loyal to another nail salon in Trolley, for over 13 years. Today, I cheated on them and found something better, within walking distance from my old salon. Spa pedicure for $35 gets you a 20 min exfoliating massage, followed by a hot stone massage. There wasn't a wait and staff was extremely friendly. They're detailed oriented and do not rush.
