I was going to this nail place and at first it was ok for regular nails and then I changed and started going to Sang, because I was told he was the best at design and that's what I wanted...Every time I scheduled an appointment with Sang, he asked for a $25 deposit just in case I didn't show up, but the one who was not showing up on time was Sang, he's very unprofessional and his work is not the best, as the rhinestones he would apply were coming off and he would get upset if I mentioned it to him....he needs to stop requiring a deposit and concentrate on doing a better job of being there on time and start being more professional... read more

Well, one makes appts at nail salons because you want a specific person that has done a great job with your nails, this particular place don't honor the appts, always want to put you with someone that is free, I don't understand this. Secondly, they advertise a $5 discount at the 5 point/fifth appt. Once the comes about, they raise the price (this time they said because they trimmed and filed my nails, something they did the last four times at the same price) $5 , so this is false advertisement. If i could pick zero stars I would. I came once before and had a great experience. Then I called today to make an appointment asking what was the latest appointment available. I was told 5pm, I said would you like my name for an appointment? The man who was on the phone replied no just come in, I said ok. I show up at 450pm and everyone is looking at me crazy asking me what service I want. I said a gel refill. A Woman says do you want to come back next week? I said no I called and I'm supposed to be here at 5. The woman says you don't have an appointment . I said well there was a man who answered who said I didn't need one he said come in. He says yea I said come in but you never know . What??? So I call and you just put someone in my place without even waiting until the time you told me and I'm early ? He wouldn't even give eye contact , shrugs his shoulders and said it would be a while. I walked out. There were two women present who both were doing nothing as I came in. Never will I return and I'll be sure anyone that asks I won't recommend. How I went from a great walk in the first time to now trying to make an appointment and being treated like this I'll never know. NEVER AGAIN! I used to come here often about 2-3 years ago but stopped when my gel polish started fading and changing color days after manicures. I decided to go back again and give them another try a few months back. I paid $35 for a special upgraded manicure. Within a day the polish started cracking. Every single nail looked like the nails in the photo. I had to go to another salon to get a new manicure within four days. Whatever top coat they put on my nails that caused the cracking would not come up. The new salon had to practically chisel it off. I was very upset as this absolutely destroyed my nails. I paid $25 to have it fixed so at the end of the day I was left with short nails, thin nailbeds, painful cuticles and was out $60. I left s Facebook review explaining what happened. One of the women who worked there messaged me and said they'd reimburse me. After saying thank you and noting that I'd let others know they reached out I was told I'd be getting a reimbursement of $15. I explained that I didn't think this was at all fair seeing as how I spent far more $$ and my nails were destroyed but the woman wrote back saying that was the offer and it was firm. I declined the offer and said I'd rather keep my comments up so others would know how I was treated there and what happened. Look, mistakes happen. I'm sure whatever they used on me wasn't intentional and they didn't mean to chip my nails and cause them to become destroyed. But nonetheless it happened and I'm a paying customer. I've been to this salon a few times in the past, to get my eyebrows waxed. I've always been satisfied with my service. So I decided to stop by, one day I was in a rush, unable to make it to the nail salon I usually go to. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! First stop, pedicure. Everything was cool until it was time for the nail tech to polish my nails. I brought in my own bottle of nail polish, which is my favorite color and something that I've used several times before. However, the nail tech asked that I pick out a different color, because "the brush was too small to polish my toenails"....WTF....I've never had anyone tell me that EVER. She ended up using a "bigger brush" from different bottle of polish to polIsh my nails. Next up, gel manicure. Which actually ended up being dip with tips, because I wanted some length. Once again, everything was cool until until it was time to shaping and polishing. I asked for a specific shape, but instead my nails ended up looking like boxes. Whenever I asked her to shape them differently, she gave me an excuse as to why she couldn't give me that shape along with a nasty attitude, eventually speaking to her brother, asking him to explain why I couldn't have the shape I requested. So, I ended up with box nails after all. They did nothing to make sure I liked the final shape of my nails. They made me feel as if I was wrong for wanting my nails to look a certain way. As if I had to take what they were giving me and shut up. Lastly, EYEBROWS. We all know that eyebrows are a very important part of our face. Once they're jacked up, there's nothing you can do about it....anyways...as I mentioned I've been here several times to get my eyebrows waxed, but never done by the nail tech who had been servicing me in this day. As she's doing my eyebrows , I notice she's very nervous. Once she's done waxing my eyebrows, she gives me thee mirror to check them out. They looked exactly the same as they did before she waxed them. I asked what did she remove? Her response and reaction was "I don't like doing black womens eyebrows because they always get mad for taking off too much hair", before walking out with an attitude. I was LIVID!!!! It had nothing to do with me being "black", as the reason I hated my eyebrows.....anyone sitting in that seat looking in the mirror at their eyebrows, would have been unsatisfied with what she had done despite their race. A different nail tech had to come in and fix my eyebrows. Throughout the time I was being serviced, I remained polite, calm and respectful, even when I asked if something can be fixed. I never gave attitude or became rude. Although I was highly dissatisfied with my services, I paid and left peacefully. My nail tech, on the other hand, was rude, had a bad attitude and disgusting behavior. As a business owner myself, I know the importance of good customer service. I don't think I'll patronize this place ever again!!!! read more

I tried this nail salon for the first time yesterday. I booked an appointment online after finding a nail tech's Instagram. I wanted an appointment with Sang and assumed since I made the appointment on his page, that I would get him. Unfortunately, he was booked and someone else did my nails (I didn't get her name). The service I came in for was to remove my acrylic overlay and get gel polish on my natural nails. My appointment was for 5pm but I didn't get started until 5:30. That wasn't a huge deal, though, and I was greeted immediately upon arrival and picked out my gel color. After speaking with another tech, I decided to switch to a matching dip powder since it would help with the strength of my nails after having acrylic removed. I used to get dip powder often 2-3 years ago when I lived in Maryland, so I decided to go with that since I loved how it looked back then. Well, the young lady who ended up doing my dip powder seemed to have a lot of trouble and had to redo a few of my nails during the process, even once telling me not to move my hands so I don't mess them up. (I didn't move my hands and I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years at this point, so I know what to/what not to do). At the end of the process, my nails looked gritty; I didn't have a shiny finish. She nailed (no pun intended) the shape, though! I was really happy with that and she was nice. Just wasn't very knowledgeable of dip powder application. She tried to fix the problem but my nails still looked gritty after being there 2.5 hours. So, I had to leave unsatisfied but said I'd just come back Saturday morning to get it corrected since it was so busy last night. This morning, I arrive at the opening time of 9am that's listed online, on their business card, and on their door. No one was there, and by 9:20 there were 5 cars of customers waiting in the lot. I ended up leaving before anyone arrived, and went to another salon to get my nails corrected. Things happen so last night wasn't a huge deal but them not opening on time is what really got to me. I'd go back only if I could have the tech I wanted initially, but I think for now I'll stick with the salon I visited today. They were awesome. read more

I came all the way from Atlanta looking for a good place to get my nails done. My cousin recommended J Nails & Spa so I went and now they have a lifelong client. The customer service was great and I absolutely love my nails! Sang did a perfect job on them! The quality of his work is amazing and you can tell he's passionate about nails. I only had a broad idea of what I wanted and just from the three things I told him I wanted, he freestyled and created a beautiful set! I can't find one flaw. Love this spot. I stopped coming under the old management and decided a few months ago to try again under the new management. There are more spa options. Occasionally I see men coming in for a wax or pedicure. The nail techs are always friendly, and offer you wine during your service. If you like pretty nails and amazing designs this is the place to go. I've never had a wait with my appointments. read more

Called a different salon in Wilmington thinking it was this one and realized after I got my nails done here I had gone to the wrong place...which was an awesome mistake! I went for my birthday as a gift and had Kevin working on my nails; pedicure, gel manicure and another woman waxed my eyebrows. They went all out it was great. I was there for about 1.5 hours to get all 3 done. They were all pretty nice, salon was clean, staff was patient and the treatment was some of the best I've had at a salon. They have this really cool vibrating tool they use to massage your legs while you're getting your pedicure done which was new for me. The gel manicure was the first I've ever had and the longest a manicure has ever lasted me. So far we're going on day 4 (usually I've chipped a nail before I even leave the salon) and everything looks great! They're doing a special right now for 15% off the total purchase, apparently they are now under either new management or ownership or both and this is their first promotion. They also gave a rewards card for every visit you spend over $15 they mark your card. On your 6th visit you get $5 off. I'm pretty darn sure I'll be going back there. read more

This shop used to be my go to. Now it's off my list completely. The owner/manager is a rude man. He worked with me 1 time and the whole time he was either on his personal cell phone or leaving me to check people in. He then rushed through the rest of my appointment. Very disappointed, but tried 1 look last time. I was greeted and told it would be a 5 minute wait. Was seated in a chair and put my feet hot water. 35 minutes later cold water on feet and a I'm sorry its going to be another 20 minutes. I dried my feet and got up to leave. Was told try back later by the owner on his cell phone. No thanks. read more

Used this nail service Sunday because my regular place is closed and I had to have nails done for Monday. Not a very friendly welcome. The lady that did them was very quick - too quick. Nail edges are rough, the underside of a nail that she did not put a tip on is VERY thick. Will not be returning. read more

Pretty satisfied with the way my nails turned out but this place is UNsanitary. The containers and tables are dirty with dust from filing and paint etc. they don't clean their utensils and they use them for everyone which can easily spread things. If they took more of a hygienic approach only then I would consider returning. read more

I went to this nail salon before I went on my vacation to an Jamaica. While I was on vacation the color of my acrylic nails started changing to black (I had an orange cream color on my nails). My polish on my toes chipped off on the 3rd day of my vacation. I went back to the salon when I got back to the states from my trip. When I arrived I was told to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour. The man sitting in the front Keith I believe his name was, forgot that he told me to come back in an hour. Then he told me that he couldn't take me. As I was waiting outside for my ride he came back out and said to me I can only repaint your toes. I do not have time for anything else. He also took the time to ask me why I was dropped off at the salon and that I need to get a car so I do not have to wait which is none of his business. My car was actually in the shop that day. The service here is poor and the staff is inconsiderate. I have never had my toe nail polish chip ever on vacation. I would not recommend this nail salon AT ALL! read more
