When I called from my own phone, I received a message indicating that my call was being screened and they were not accepting my call at that time. I then called from my husband's phone and was able to schedule the appointment without any issue. Shortly afterward, someone from the salon called my phone and told me that I was no longer allowed to receive services there and stated that they have the right to refuse service. I understand that businesses have the right to refuse service, but when I asked why, I was given no explanation. There was no apology, no clarification, and no attempt to address the situation. The response was very flat and dismissive. I had been going to this salon regularly since moving to Reno, probably around 10-12 times. The only interaction I can think of that may have led to this happened during my last appointment about three weeks ago. After I paid, I respectfully asked why the price seemed to change every time I came in. I had been charged anywhere from around $40 to $60 for similar services, so I simply wanted to understand what I should expect to pay moving forward. I was told the price depended on the nail technician. I then asked whether there was a more consistent or standard price because I wanted to know what I would be spending every few weeks. That was the entire conversation. I was not disrespectful, argumentative, or abrasive. If asking a reasonable question about inconsistent pricing is enough for a returning customer to suddenly be refused service, I think potential customers should be aware of that. Looking back, I also overlooked concerns about the cleanliness of the salon because I liked that they offered hybrid gel, which can be harder to find elsewhere. After this experience, I would not recommend this business based on the customer service, communication, cleanliness concerns, and overall management. Apparently I will not be returning, but I wanted other customers to be aware of my experience. If you have questions about pricing or your service, just know that asking for clarification was not received well in my experience.

Michelle is meticulous about sanitation, which I love because I have had problems with other places not being as clean as I think they should be. I was blown away by the service and education that Michelle provided. It was about how water effects the nails as well as how the shape of the nail makes a difference in breakage. She also sells a cuticle oil that is lovely. It smells like almonds and has already made a difference in my cuticles. She also takes her time to do the manicure correctly. No being super aggressive with my cuticles. She trimmed them back properly and without any pain or bleeding, which I've had happen at some other salons. They are usually in too big of a hurry and nip me, which I hate. Michelle put a CND shellac nail polish that went on beautifully. I actually had a design put on my third fingers for Halloween. It's the shadow of a kitty cat. And Michelle used a something called cat's eye to highlight my french style manicure. It was a really cool process that I haven't seen at any other salon. If you want to see some of her designs. She's on Insta michelles_deco_nails I highly recommend Pewter Salon. Her service is a little more expensive than the cheap salons, but with the amount of time she takes to do a proper manicure I find the price to be very reasonable. IMO this is the place to go!

Unfortunately, I was given Lily, and today's experience was just as bad. I have been getting pedicures for over 25 years. I know what a good pedicure feels like, and I know when someone is being unnecessarily rough. Throughout the entire service, Lily was constantly grabbing, repositioning, and forcefully moving my foot every 30 seconds. I have NEVER experienced anything like it during a pedicure. It felt like I was being manhandled rather than receiving a relaxing $65 service. I specifically asked for my toenails to be cut VERY short and for the ingrown areas to be carefully cleaned out. Instead, Lily CUT MY FOOT. Then, to top it all off, the gel polish application looks terrible. The polish is pushed all the way down into my cuticles, and the edges are jagged and sloppy. For $65, I expect someone to be able to apply gel polish cleanly and professionally without injuring me in the process. A pedicure is supposed to be relaxing--not an experience where you're being jerked around by your feet, cut, and then sent home with sloppy polish. I have genuinely tried to give this place multiple chances because the location is so convenient, but convenience is not worth paying $65 to be manhandled, injured, and leave unhappy with the quality of the work. Unfortunately, after this experience with Lily, I will not be returning.

It's a Latino driven shop. They have pedicures, deluxe and VIP. I got the deluxe I wish now I got the VIP for $5 more to receive the paraffin wax . The range is $60-75 for gel and $5.00 for decoration. I was there for a hour and half, Isela took her time. She can do free style art work or stickers. I chose the stickers. The place was spotless and they asked if I like a small bottle of water which is always a nice touch. I paid with cash not sure if there was a credit card fee or not. No discount for cash. The Technician was very gentle sometimes I do prefer the cheese grater for my winter callous, but otherwise, I'd go back, but I'm always on a mission to try different nail salons in the area.

My issue is specifically with the nail service I received from Nancy. Before we started, I explained that I wanted my cuticles cleaned. At other salons, and even at this location years ago when I used to go to Queenie, my cuticles were always cleaned before the acrylic was applied. This time, Nancy waited until after the acrylic was already on to clean them. I even asked during the service when she was going to do my cuticles and was told "not yet." Because the acrylic was already applied when she finally did them, I don't feel like they were cleaned properly, and she also ended up cutting the corner of my right thumb while doing them. I was also charged an additional $15 for the cuticle service, which was disappointing because they still don't look properly cleaned. I asked for a skinny square shape, but the finished nails look much wider than what I requested. The acrylic also feels extremely thin, and overall I am just not happy with how my nails look or feel. There was also very little communication during the appointment other than being asked what color I wanted. I understand every nail technician has a different personality, but when you're paying for a service, communication about what you want and whether you're happy with the shape and nails makes a big difference. I also want to make it very clear that the price was NOT the issue. I was told the price, agreed to it, paid $95, and still left Nancy a $10 tip. I am willing to pay for quality work and good service. I didn't complain while I was there because I didn't want to make a big deal or make anyone uncomfortable, but after looking at my nails, I honestly regret not speaking up. For $105 total, I expected to leave loving my nails, and unfortunately I didn't. I really wanted to like my experience because the remodeled salon is beautiful, but I was very disappointed with the quality of the service I received.

I showed you a picture of exactly what I wanted. I shouldn't have to accept whatever is easiest or fastest for the nail tech. For $72, this quality is a joke. I'm so tired of nail salons rushing through services while continuing to raise their prices. If you're going to charge premium prices, the quality and attention to the client should reflect that. I'm surprised I even paid for these. This felt like the McDonald's of nail salons, get you in, get you out, charge you as much as possible. I definitely won't be back. Listen to your clients, slow down, and make the quality match the price. Steer clear.

This is a fantastic nail spa with excellent service! I was thoroughly relaxed and loved my results. I had a gel French manicure and a gel pedicure. I left feeling so confident, relaxed and refreshed. SHIMA did a beautiful job on my nails with such precision!! I'll definitely be returning to see Shima again as soon as I need it. Possibly sooner just to experience the environment of my friendly manicurist and of all of the professionals working there. My friend went with me and absolutely loved her stunning results too.
