I was sold. Everything was spectacular from start to finish. We started with the pompano fish with mango salad & the Tom Yum Kung. The fish was crispy and the mango salad was so flavorful. I was impressed with the giant prawns in the soup. Already we were half full finishing the main entrees. For the buffet options, we ordered salmon sashimi, seafood pad see ew, Moo Ping Thai bbq pork, and Nur Yang steak. I would devour everything again except for the steak, which I found bland and not tasty. Overall service was A++. The music playing was fun. 3.5 Was curious about their lunch buffet special and Khanom Jeen. $18.99 pp. For starters, Chive pancakes, roasted veggies, Pad see ew and papaya salad (spicy!) were all ok. Fish cake and Breaded Chicken were dry. Food trays on warmers but don't think they kept them hot enough, like the fried rice which was cold. Had to ask about the 6 curries - weren't labeled at first. From different regions. Some had proteins like chicken feet, pork, chicken. One was fish but only saw a few pcs of halved fishballs. The peanut curry was slightly sweet and was just the sauce. One was very spicy so just took the veggies and meat. Instructions were finally posted on how to put together the curries with the noodles and toppings, which were set up on the table as well. Side notes- This is for the outstanding khanom jeen lunch buffet. Also, if you don't like spicy, sour, and bitter flavors, I probably wouldn't recommend this place even though I liked it a lot. Also, some of these dishes rotate occasionally so you might not get the same dishes as me. Anyway, I went to this place a few weekends ago with a couple others for their rather unique lunch buffet serving their take on a Thai dish, Khanom Jeen; a type of rice noodle that is served with a variety of curries. For $18.95, you leave stuffed and the food here is quite authentic with curries/kaeng/gaeng from all the different regions of Thailand along with a couple extra dishes. As said, the various curries here tend to be spicy with some bitterness and some sour flavors so if you're used to primarily Massamun or Panang and other sweeter and less spicy curries, this might not be for you. Said curries also come with several toppings including greens, long beans, bitter gourd, hard boiled eggs, and pickled mustard greens where I liked primarily adding the pickled mustard greens, bitter gourd, and bean sprouts, The rotating curries included the following described the following as a translation (as Thai words don't show up on yelp,) the description, and the region: Nam Ya Kati Pla, fish coconut curry, central- Sweetest of the bunch along with the peanut chili. Had some fish balls inside which added good textures. Nam Ya Pa Dtin Gai, chicken feet curry, northeastern- Chicken feet were surprisingly tender. Nicely spicy with a lot of aromatics as expected being a jungle curry with some vegetables as well. Kaeng Tai Pla, fish entrails, southern- Strongest flavor of the curries with some vegetables to soak up the funk. I recommend a little bit of it if you're not used to it and it worked nicely paired with the other curries such as the nam ngiao. Nam Ngiao Moo On, Burmese style Thai curry with pork ribs, northern- My favorite of the bunch. Super tender pork ribs and some well cooked pig's blood for texture along with a lot of ground meat (presumably pork also.) Had a good mix of spiciness and a bit of sourness. Kaeng Khiao Wan Gai, green curry with chicken, central- My least favorite of the bunch as I'm not the biggest fan of Thai eggplant. Mildest flavor with light herbal flavor. Still fine. Nam Prik Thua Gai, peanut chili sauce with chicken, central- Least filled of the curries in terms of proteins and the sweetest. Was fine with some nuttiness compared to the other curries. Outside of said 6 curries, there was also egg fried rice (nice wok hei,) chicken pad see ew (same nice hei,) an excellent Moo Palo/five-spice pork belly with eggs, a subtle mixed sauteed vegetables which went nicely with the stronger flavored curries, a solid Som Tom/papaya salad with dried shrimp, vermicelli with seafood (didn't try,) vegetable spring rolls, and an excellent take on Kui Chai/fried Chinese chives cake which both had the usual sauces. To drink, there was pandan flavored water and there was also watermelon for dessert. It's hard to complain about a spot serving AYCE rice noodles especially when the flavors are this authentic. My friends and I came here for AYCE and there were three options to choose from -- premium ($49.99), ultimate ($89.99), and supreme ($129.99). We opted for their ultimate and were able to select an item each from the supreme menu. We selected various lobster and wagyu dishes from the supreme menu, which were great. Since this is a made to order place, the food doesn't come out as quickly as other AYCE spots i.e. hotpot places. However, the food is more unique and harder to prepare, so it's understandable. Despite that, our waitress is friendly and attentive. A lot of the dishes were quite spicy, but definitely still doable. My personal favorite were their garlic prawns and spicy raw shrimp salad. Frankly, AYCE Thai was something I never knew I needed until I was presented with an iPad of choice, and now I don't know how to be okay with only getting ONE Kung Chae Nampla when I order it. *Cries in sashimi* Seriously, though, for a city (and nation) obsessed with Thai food, you'd think Na Rath would be a household name in the Big Apple. How is this spot not known to everyone? Unlimited made-to-order Thai and sushi for as low as $50/person is a steal. It's not a buffet so the food is freshly made and not sitting around at a hot bar. My fiancee ordered the Thai Iced Tea, which I liked better as they put a scoop of ice cream, enhancing the flavor of the drink. The food from the Thai buffet was fresh-tasting, light on the stomach and filling. Although the chili peppers added in the sauce for the various curry dishes packed a punch to the flavor and raised the spice level a bit too much, it was yummy! The casual ambiance was nice with lit up cozy fairy lights alongside the floral decor, lucky cat and lucky rooster feng shui decorations. The Thai coffee, which had a scoop of vanilla ice cream served with it, added a nice final touch to the buffet meal. It certainly helped dial down the spice of the chili in the Thai dishes! First when I hear about All you can eat Thai food and Sushi, it sounds interesting and how good it will be to have both of my favorite food. The restaurant has three options for AYCE, $49.99, $89.99 and $129.99 per person. My suggestion is no matter what you should stick with the lowest price because if you can't finish your dish, they will charge you by each dish that you have left. I went for $89.99, and I don't think it is worth of money even though the potion is big but because of that, for less people in the party the food fills you up easily and you can't order too many dishes. The reason why I pick this option because of Lobster and wagyu but both of them didn't meet my expectations. - Lobster was too dried - Wagyu quality wasn't that great. - Oyster has some smell, not really fresh - Sashimi only have tuna and salmon and also not that great - Shrimp cake is only one I like Service is part good part unclear. Performance during food serving was good and polite toward the end, that when my bill came, and the server added a gratuity for a party of 2. I was wondering if it is normal to add tip to such a small party. Most of restaurant I went if they would put a gratuity to the bill, it will be a party of 5-6 up or the server has terrible judgments and ignorant enough to do that to a customer. I have no idea. Located far from the city, and even a bit far from Flushing, Na Rath is the first AYCE* Thai place that I've ever been to. While they advertise you only have 90 minutes, it seems like as long as their isn't anyone waiting behind you, you can eat for as long as you like. What's strange to me was that even on a weekend night, there really wasn't a wait even though there weren't that many tables. There are two AYCE options, the $39.99 and $49.99 option. The more expensive option includes the starred options, which were fancier items. I would recommend, if you have the appetite, to get the more expensive AYCE option. You ordered which dishes you wanted to eat and they made it fresh; some of my favorites included the crab omelette and the raw salmon dishes. While fresh was nice, some dishes took an incredible amount of time to the point where we felt like we were just waiting for too long. This use to be one of the best places for Thai food. Dek Sen was the name. Sadly through Covid. It ended up closing. Never thinking they can replace such a good noodle soup spot. I was wrong. A friend of ours has introduced us to Na Rath. It is a Thai cuisine that you can do a la cart or AYCE. There are 2 tiers of pricing. I would recommend you to do the $49.99 to get the whole experience or come after 10pm to get the discounted price! You'll definitely get your moneys worth if you are coming hungry. It's not your typical AYCE. They have a written menu that you can write down what you want and they cook it FRESH and HOT. Granted you can't instantly beast mode but it's a great spot where they serve you plate after plate so that way your belly stays warm! This isn't a HUGE place although they do have a table that can sit 8. But only that one table. Every other table its about 2-4 ppl max. So if you have a small group it'll be a great spot. For the bigger groups it might be a bit snugged and food doesn't come out super fast. But worth the wait! Hats off to the chef as they have to make this fresh per request per table. As a customer i urge you to be patient. The variety of choices are amazing. From Tiger Steaks to Whole entire steam fish to variety of grilled meats and veggies will definitely fill your palette. Stumbled across this place and definitely wasn't disappointed! My family has been searching for an AYCE Thai restaurant for a while now, and upon finding Na Rath we immediately made the drive from Brooklyn to Queens to try it. This is a pretty small restaurant with only 4 tables, so if you are making a long trip you definitely should call and make a reservation in advance. The regular AYCE option priced at $39.99, with the premium pricing at $49.99. The main difference between the two is that the premium includes dishes such as crab fried rice, crab omelettes and curry, along with whole fried fish. All the food was extremely flavorful and great quality since it was all cooked to order. With that being said, food does take a bit of time to reach your table, with dishes coming out around every 20 min or so. The food reminded me of eating street food in Thailand, so it definitely did its job! Being the only Thai all you can eat restaurant that I know of, are stomachs are full and happy and we will definitely be returning. Wow! Come with a party that can eat and loves variety. We were a party of 5 and did the full AYCE. Determine if you want any of the specialty dishes and if it's worth paying extra $10 per person. If it was a la carte for those dishes, it would probably be $20 each. For us, it was worth the full experience $50 pp, and for four people and more it's an automatic 20% gratuity. Keep in mind if you pay card, there's a 3% charge so we went with cash. There's a 5% off for each person who does an online review. Yelp also offers a free drink when it's your first time dining. The portion control was great. For the apps we tried, it was one piece per person so we didn't get too full or be forced to finish more than we want. Zaap wings were very good. It was hot, dry skin, has a zesty lime coating, and the seasoning was on point. If you like it saucy, get the sticky wings. The shrimp cakes were freshly fried and perfectly bouncy. The nur yang steak were juicy. I wouldn't order the vegetable spring roll and edamame again. The tom kha kai (creamy chicken coconut soup) was really good. It was my favorite out of the 5-6 soups we tried. Next best was the emperor fish maw soup. Be warned the tom zap, spicy stewed beef was the spiciest we tried and we didn't finish the cup. The standard papaya salad was basic. In Thailand, that was the spiciest thing I ate so this is definitely catered to our flavor palette. The Khao soi was good after mixing the noodles with the sauce. The pad see ew was really good- it had a smooth texture and nice dry wok hey. The sashimi didn't look appetizing due to the way they cut it but texture wise it was good. The green curry we ordered was too salty, even with rice it wouldn't work but the owner was nice enough to take it back. The fried rice we ordered was a larger fish and the crispy pork was not the ideal protein. I didn't care for the salmon salad dish. Specialty dish: The deep fried golden pompano fish with mango salad was interesting. It was definitely deep fried and cut well but it needed some seasoning. I know it's supposed to be eaten with the mango salad but it still needed a little flavor. Crab meat with pepper and basil was really soft and it's made with real crab- it would be delicious with rice. The grilled garlic prawns were good. The tom yum kung (clear tiger prawns spicy and sour soup) was good. It has shrimp flavor and kept hot in the pot it was housed in. Overall, I would recommend this for a large party with big eaters to try. It's a small place. At one time it can fit one big table for 10-12 people, a few two seaters, and maybe up to 2 four seaters. Do call in and make a reservation if you're going as a party of 4 or more. The food came out one dish at a time so we didn't feel rushed. We also came on a Thurs night at 7pm. We chilled there for a long time. The owner was really nice. He threw in a free slice of cake for our party because we were celebrating someone's birthday. It was also perfect size for sharing among us. He told us they're expanding their menu next week and eventually will have live music and a rooftop. The good food is the steak dish, emperor fish maw soup, coconut seafood curry with rice, tiramisu, green papaya salad, pad see ew, pad Thai with beef, and fried chicken. These items were delicious. Service was attentive but food delivery took some time to arrive at our table which was not a big problem. However they let us stay for 2 hours instead of the allotted time for 1.5 hours. Was so excited to dig in that I forgot to take pictures! This was such a great deal for Thai food lovers that I am lamenting how long it took me to finally come try the restaurant. My party of four opted for the $50 ayce and non alcohol drink options. We began eating at 5PM right when the restaurant opened and stayed until 7:45PM or so, with a constant stream of dishes hitting our table. The pacing was slow in the beginning but accerlerated as the meal went on. I have to point out that every dish was well executed, which is very impressive for such a large menu. My personal favorites were the shrimp cake and raw shrimp salad, as well as the chilli lime steamed fish, but my friends had different choices. Even the included drinks were great, particularly the thai iced tea variations; so great that it is unlimited. I looked at ayce, and personally it's only good if you can go with a lot of people as it is a lot of food and it's a bit pricey. Portion size, there's a lot of food. Otherwise, a la carte works. The food comes out slowly, probably bc the kitchen is small. There's only one person out who is serving, bussing the tables, taking orders, and giving the checks. I give the waiter a lot of credit for doing all of that. Anyways, the dishes that we got for the table were the glass noodle spicy seafood dish, which had a kick even though it was medium spice level. I had a little bit of the red curry, and that was really good, too. I had the tom yum pork noodle soup, which was a bit bland, so I had to add some of the hot sauces to the soup. Stepping into Na Rath in Elmhurst, Queens, feels like walking into a secret garden, a swirl of vibrant colors and twinkling Christmas lights that immediately sets the tone for what's to come. It's intimate, with just enough seating to feel exclusive, and I managed to snag a coveted window spot, a front,row seat to what would be an unforgettable meal. Having traveled to Thailand multiple times, I've developed a taste for what's authentic and what's been diluted to cater to American palates. Na Rath? It's the real deal. Much to my surprise and delight, my dishes were prepared by Chef Bass himself, a chef who has cooked for Thai royalty. Yes, that Chef Bass. I started with the raw salmon spicy salad and raw shrimp sashimi, and let me tell you, these dishes are an instant transport back to the markets of Bangkok. Each bite was alive with heat, acid, and freshness, a sensory reminder of Khlong Toei Market at its most vibrant. Then came the chili lime steamed tilapia, a dish where every ingredient--from the fiery chili to the zesty lime and aromatic garlic...felt perfectly in balance. It was the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes and savor every flavor. And then there was the Tom Yum Kung. This is not a soup to sip--it's a soup to be embraced, fiery and bursting with lemongrass, kept hot by a chafing fuel flame. Because let's be honest, soup should be served hot, not lukewarm. The crab fried rice. Forget imitation crab, this was the real thing, jumbo chunks of sweet crab meat nestled in perfectly cooked rice. It felt indulgent yet comforting, the kind of dish you'd cross boroughs for. The standout? The lobster khao soi. This Northern Thai classic combines a creamy, rich coconut curry broth with tender boiled egg noodles, crispy fried noodles for texture, and a medley of tangy and fried chilies topped with lime and cilantro. The addition of juicy, tender lobster tail takes this dish to the next level, making it both comforting and luxurious. It's a must-try. Dessert brought an unexpected surprise: taro custard paired with vanilla ice cream. A salty,sweet revelation, it was a refreshing alternative to the usual mango sticky rice, and my father couldn't stop raving about the combo. Even the Thai iced tea had its own twist, topped with a dollop of whipped cream. The lychee iced tea packed a punch, a little too strong for a lightweight like me, but perfect for anyone who loves bold flavors. Na Rath also offers a buffet, but don't let that word fool you. This isn't your typical steam,table setup. Each dish is cooked to order, arriving hot and fresh, a far cry from the sad, lukewarm offerings most buffets are known for. I'm always very skeptical of all you can eat restaurants and this was extra suspicious as it's a cuisine not typically served as an all you can eat. However, I was pleasantly surprised and left very full. We opted for the $49.99/each option which affords you more things. And then we got essentially half the menu. Everything we had came out surprisingly fast (probably because we were really the only table there) and was a nice portion for all you can eat-not too big and with not a ton of filler ingredients. All of the fish we had (garlic prawns, whole deep-fried pompano with mango salad, squid with egg yolk, seafood Hor Mok served in a coconut with fish curry sauce) was awesome. The only one I didn't LOVE was the soy grilled squid as this felt a bit charred. We ended up not getting any noodle dishes which surprised me but worked out fine (and only one rice dish which also was surprising but again let us eat more of the huge portions of seafood/meat). The crying tiger steak was a last minute option which was also such a delight. We had also started with some of the sashimi which was pretty fresh, great way to start (or add into the meal). We did get some crab dishes but these were a bit more work than I cared for as they came shelled and were difficult to eat. For the amount of food we got I felt like the price was more than reasonable. The a-la-carte prices actually seemed a bit pricy so I'm not sure I would come here for that. Although a Thai menu with AYCE sounds super engrossing, it was mediocre at best and not worth the AYCE price for me and my two friends. However, service was very friendly and quick. But the food quality was just not good. DEFINITELY skip on the sushi/sashimi. Not that it wasn't fresh but it was definitely not the best quality and tasted pretty questionable. The best things we had on the AYCE menu were the pork skewers, french fries, and boat egg noodles. Everything else was pretty subpar for a Thai restaurant. Would rather pay that $$ at a non AYCE restaurant. read more
