One hour before the session she emailed me to say that she's taking the morning off for personal reasons. I was fortunate to see it before leaving the house. I wrote back to reschedule and never heard back from her. I can only assume that she doesn't care or need more clients. I have been in a lot of pain and was looking forward to a healing massage. Instead she let me know that she couldn't be bothered to reschedule an appointment that she canceled at the last minute. I'm so disappointed and hope to find another practitioner who gives consideration to their client communication. :(

She's also a delightful person to know and learn from her life full of learning. I came to her after I damaged shoulder through Muay Thai and surfing. For four months, I had gone to a chain of experts (the US Tennis team's Orthopedic Surgeon among them) who did their best, but were unable to get to the root cause issue -- that key parts of my body were unintegrated. On our first visit when she explained what she saw and it literally all clicked. I felt in my body what she described. And then we got to work. After 3 months working together, I've been able to lift weights for the last six weeks and go for long road cycling sessions. She's brought that joy back into my movement. Commit to your work with Cambria and you'll be rewarded.

They have a long range of times for you to get in a massage session which is wonderful and very considerate since not everyone works your typical 9-5 jobs. This parlor is located on the 2nd floor, and they request you to remove your shoes before entering. It's also secure because you ring the bell before they buzz you in, and the front desk is already expecting you so they greet you at the top of the stairs. I believe they offer slippers but I usually have socks on so I just walk in with that. However, if you plan to use the restroom, I'd recommend grabbing a pair of their slippers because socks in a public bathroom is gross. There is very minimal wait time unless you come super early, but I'm usually there right on time or 5 minutes before my appointment. I recommend coming 5-10 minutes early just so that you can get the full time you booked for the massage because if you're pregnant, the set up might take a few minutes, and getting comfortable on the table also takes a few minutes. The masseuse also takes a couple minutes to talk to you about your problem areas if you have any and what your main goal is for the session if it's for relaxation or muscle pain relief. Anyway, I'd never gotten a prenatal massage before, and this was my first pregnancy so I didn't know what to expect but let me tell you, after the first session, I was hooked. My husband gifted me a session for Valentine's day and I made my appointment a month later when I was starting to get uncomfortable with my growing pains. Their website to book appointments is very nice and detailed with every masseuse having their own picture and biography telling you about themselves. I absolutely love this feature of this place because as an anxious person I like to be prepared and know what to expect. As silly as it may seem, it's nice to have a visual of the person who will be massaging you for at least an hour and get a glimpse into their personality or vibe. I truly appreciate whoever thought of this when building their booking website. I've had 2 massages with Noriko, and 1 massage with Ellen. The prenatal massages are relaxing and wonderful, and I highly recommend getting them if you're pregnant. It's such a treat and I looked forward to them right after booking an appointment online. They set up the massage table with plenty of support pillows for your bump. You are in a side lying position and your belly and legs are supported to make you especially comfortable and relaxed. I personally want to gate keep Noriko because she's my favorite. She's also everyone else's favorite because she's always typically booked a month out. She's the sweetest lady and she gives off such a warm and caring aura. I had a second prenatal massage by Ellen and she is also super sweet, she has such a soft and quiet voice which was very calming. She has a different massage style from Noriko, and she massaged me with a seemingly firmer hand than I what I was expecting. Certain points were kind of painful but not to the point I had to say something. Nonetheless her massage had me asleep 30 minutes in to the session just like Noriko's. I haven't tried the other masseuse's. So I can only recommend the Noriko and Ellen thus far. Getting massages regularly gets pricy especially because I like getting the longer sessions. 60 minutes just isn't enough for me. I gave birth already so I'm looking forward to coming back soon for a postnatal massage with Noriko. The front desk staff are all nice and friendly. You can pay by card or cash, tip can also be sent via Venmo if you don't have cash on hand and they have a handy tipping guide taped to the front desk so you don't have to whip out your calculator to figure out 15/20% of your session price. Thank god for that. Fumbling with my phone calculator is embarrassing. Overall, I highly recommend Red Moon Wellness to everyone, and especially to all the pregnant mama's out there. Pregnancy is hard on the body and mind, so it's nice to be able to come to a place like this for some much needed relief and relaxation. I kind of want to know where they bought those support pillows because my pregnancy pillow from Amazon was not nearly as comfortable as theirs. Kind of pointless now that I'm postpartum but wanted to point out that's how comfortable they made me feel when I was all belly.

So much respect and humility in trying to make sure you get the treatment that you need by all the masseuse, who may or may not speak well English. They are some very strong ladies. They were quite busy on a Monday night but seemed to be good at figuring out a way to get people in. Appointments are recommended. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Although it's a no frills place, the ambience feels a little more elevated than other places I've been to at this price point. Don't expect pin drop quiet or water at the end though. They try their best to move and speak quietly but really utilize every space including the waiting area to do foot massages. The massage felt like it was deep tissue and I was all for it. It was freezing that day and I initially kept my socks on but the masseuse removed them. However, there was no foot massage included in the 60 mins for me (unsure what's standard). A lot of time was spent in the back and arms area. The masseuse put her whole elbow in it. Lordy, it hurt sooo good. She checked in an appropriate number of times which I appreciated. I was definitely sore the next day but felt like I did some releasing in the moment. The hot stone was so nice and my favorite part! I think this may be an add on at other spots so loved that this was included. By the way, there is no cash discount which was totally fine- I just saw this mentioned in some reviews and usually carry cash so went for it. Price was the same. Great value. I would book another massage at BK Net Wellness when in Park Slope, and you should too!
