We are in Orlando for a family vacation and this was on our to-do list. I absolutely recommend…read morecoming here, especially when they open to beat that heat a little bit! If you plan your day right with cooling towels, water, fans, etc., this is actually a really really fun experience! There's also a splash pad here too! We didn't sign up for anything extra, just general admission. We did buy gator food. It was kinda neat because you could essentially feed them any time throughout the walk! There's lots of signage with literature about the gators and history. We really enjoyed our time here, excited to come back if we're in town again!

I was in Orlando for work and decided to spend my Friday going to the most Floridian attraction I…read morecould find. This place was so much fun and did not disappoint! There is so much to see and do there. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the whole place was. I got there right at opening at 10am to sign up for the capybara experience, but the petting zoo did not open until 11am, so the gentleman at the ticketing gate recommended that I line up around 10:55am. The capybara experience was $15, and it includes a 10-minute time slot from 2-3pm to feed and pet capybaras. If that is all you are here for, apparently Gatorland does allow re-entry so you can just reserve a time slot and come back during your assigned time. I would highly recommend this experience if you are even remotely interested. It was a really cool opportunity, and I did not feel rushed or crowded at all during my time slot (12 people total). Other than that, I enjoyed the shows and train ($3 for unlimited rides all day). There are a variety of animals to see outside of just alligators and crocodiles, so I think there is something for everyone. This is an affordable option ($34) for a day of fun that does not involve large crowds. I spent about 4-5 hours here but could have probably stayed longer if it were not so hot. The website says food and drinks are not allowed, but honestly no one checked. Free parking is a plus!

A zipper broke on the removable cover on my son's baseball catcher's bag. Anyone who has a child in…read morebaseball/softball knows gear can be expensive, especially anything having to do with catcher's gear. We had won the bag in a raffle, and it is expensive to replace (about $200). So I took it down to Luggage Service to see if it could be repaired. The owner was there and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He understood the issue immediately and explained my options. Instead of recommending the most expensive fix (replacing the entire zipper), he recommended permanently attaching the cover to the bag with a piece of leather at the detachment point where the zipper was broken ($30). He said that it's the most economical option and would make the zipper more "boy proof." He said to leave it with him and it would be done in a couple of hours. When I returned a couple of hours later, the bag was behind the counter and his daughter greeted me as soon as I walked in. If you go onto their website, the business has an incredible 107 year history in Tampa with several photos of how the company grew over the century and the historic buildings they occupied. She and I talked about that for a few moments as she cashed me out. Before you throw out a damaged bag or suitcase, consider Luggage Service Repair! They also have a huge selection of luggage and other types of bags for sale in their showroom.

TravelPro no longer has the parts available, so I started calling authorized repair shops. The folks at Luggage Service were so friendly over the phone and provided me an approximate pricing range but stressed they needed to see it before telling me the exact amount. I made the drive from Orlando to Tampa and found out why they have been in business for over 100 years.... quality workmanship, excellent customer service and reasonable pricing. The best thing is that my trusty WalkAbout Lite 3 has a new lease on life and is rolling like a brand-new bag!!
