For one reason or another I had never experienced any type of restaurant week so when I heard about Dine In Brooklyn I decided to give it a shot. One of the places I decided to go was My Moon. I figured $25 for 3 courses couldn't hurt. A warm greeting at the entrance and an absolutely stunning decor made me think I made a good choice right away. Lots of wood and dark colors make this place, which is enormous, seem really romantic and cozy. There is a large outdoor area, that I hope once it gets warmer out, to be able to eat at. You really get transported to a different place once you enter the doors of My Moon. They have a really extensive wine and cocktail menu. The 12 different single malts on hand that were reasonably priced further solidified my good choice. We were initially given the main menu's and I was drooling over all of the different options they have. I really had to restrain myself as I wanted to test this place out by ordering off the dine in menu. They have 3 different choices for the three different courses. Once we ordered they brought out the most delicious bread I've ever had. Piping hot, crusty and general breaddy goodness. Think soft pizza crust times 50. It was accompanied by a simple olive paste that was out of this world. Olives, olive oil and some oregano, Boom! And they refilled it!!!! (bonus points) For appetizers I got the Sea Bass Carpaccio the GF got the Spanish Ham Consomee. All I can say is WOW!! The flavors blew me away. The carpaccio dish with its slighly fishy sea bass mixed with the olive oil and mushrooms along with a bit of frisee was unlike anything I've had before. The tartness of the granny smith apples and the crunch of the pine nuts rounded this dish out nicely. While the portion was a bit on the small side it did it job and did it well. The consomme was even better! Beautiful hammy goodness with a hint of truffle and the egg which was just about soft boiled. Wonderful mushrooms made it nice and earthy. I stopped myself from picking up the bowl to get every last drop. For our mains, my GF got the Grilled Hanger steak and I got the Fluke. Again the food blew both of us away. My GF's hanger steak was cooked to perfection (I've used this before , but this was spot on perfect) The chick pea puree was good as well and it balanced the turmeric flavoring well. My fluke was, dare I say, the best I've had to date. Again, cooked perfectly. It was flaky yet still had a nice crust to it. The potato foam added a nice balance to the dish. The artichoke was ok and could have been left out but I devoured it anyway. For desert she got the baklava and I got the chocolate, bread , sea salt and olive oil. The deserts were also top notch although i was still reeling from dinner so I did not take note of them as much. Still excellent none the less. I did not know what to expect from this place yet my expectations were still blown away. Our servers were helpful, courteous and never annoying. I don't know if they were just putting on a show due to the Dine in Brooklyn event but my gut tells me no. I read some earlier reviews about this place that were not flattering. All I can say is that I really enjoyed it and will be back to try out the rest of the menu. And as for the portions, yes they were small but we were both completely satisfied at the meals end. Got married at this venue in 2015-one of the best decisions! It's absolutely gorgeous. The entry gates look grand, the indoor and outdoor space is almost impossible to find elsewhere, the menu was worthy a special occasion, and not sure you can find nicer people to work with on such an important event! The space itself is so beautiful on its own, we didn't have to go overboard with flowers or other decorations. The front/outdoor part of the venue has patio seating and a raised deck. The raised deck was where we had chairs set up for the ceremony. The backdrop to our vows was this wall of greenery, which becomes lush and even flower at the right time of season. After the ceremony, the outdoor area also served as our cocktail hour, where drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served. The horodorves were outstanding! And we know because they set up the bridal suite with a flight of all the tastings so that we were able to also enjoy a bite while I got my dress bustled up. Seriously, the team is so thoughtful! The dinner and indoor restaurant section has tall ceilings and is dim and rustic. There is a bar at the back, fully stocked, which we made open for our guests. There are long tables for the middle of the space, and round booths set up on the sides. Photos came out so beautiful. The perks of My Moon being a restaurant is that the dinner service and food was fantastic. Definitely a meal set for an occasion! When dinner was done, everyone stood up and tables were moved to turn the space into a dance floor. The staff and especially Ruggero who coordinated all the details for our wedding were wonderful. From before we contracted to after to the day of and after, the whole crew was awesome! We couldn't have picked a better venue for our wedding. Thanks My Moon! read more

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday recently. The cocktails were great! The food not so much...definitely Not worth the money. The food came out within minutes which lead me to believe that it is either sitting on a hot plate in the back or not cooked enough. The only decent dish was the potatoes. The pulpo was too chewy and lacked in flavor. The paella also lacked in flavor. The service was spotty as well. The waiters seem not to care too much as they barely checked on the table. The restaurant is adorable! Perfect for a modern industrial chic intimate wedding. The patio where ceremonies are held has a new enclosure, I always like a bad weather option so that's great! The restaurant has so much charm that brides don't need to break the bank on decorations. We met with Lee, he had his scrpit down pat and compared to his competitors the venue is competitively priced. I will be going to check out the restaurant during dinner time but my venue search is over. read more

We used the outside deck for about 50 people, and they set the tables up with flowers, served delicious hors d'oeuvres. were very accommodating to our needs. The staff was attentive and personable. Did I mention that the food was delicious? We will definitely use this venue again, and recommend it highly for social, business, or family events. read more

The decor is amazing - love the high high ceilings, the booths, the wood tables. Very spacious yet cozy. I sat inside because it was too cold to sit outside but will definitely come back when it's a warmer night. The outside area is beautiful. I didn't order any drinks, just lots of appetizers and a lamb kebob entree from the specials. I wasn't too impressed w/the entree - it was a bit on the gamey side for me but maybe that's just me. Loved the appetizers: mixed olives, fried calamari, orecchiette pasta (yum!), hummus plate and of course the bread & olive paste (they're generous w/refills). Finished off w/some turkish coffee...my first time having it. I didn't realize that it would be grainy. The waiter was nice to offer to replace it w/regular coffee. He was super attentive. Just meh. Come for cocktails; don't order food. The decor here is fantastic and the hostess was very pleasant, but the rest of our experience was sub par. The waiter seemed less than interested in having to deal with us even though it was early in the evening and the place was slow. The pulpo (not really a "tapas" but more of a full size appetizer) was chewy and lacking in flavor. Our second course was paella and it was rushed out right after the pulpo and no more than fifteen minutes after we ordered, which was our first indication that it could not have been cooked properly. The paella was unevenly seasoned, fishy, and it seemed like the rice was cooked separately and then thrown into the pan because it completely lacked the socarrat (crispy crunchy bottom layer). The waiter didn't check in with us once during the meal. Overall the experience was not worth the price tag and, because the food was so mediocre, we left a little hungry. read more

One of those few moments I wanted to give 5 , because of the service we received. The place was full when we arrived and everyone wanted to sit outside because of the wonderful weather. It was in the upper 70s and the place was buzzing. Of you never been here, it was a boiler room way back in the day. Original converted to a Turkish place and then more Hispanic. Lots of salsa and pachanga playing in the background, but not too loud. You can have a normal conversation with anyone. Rima the hostess is so sweet. She found us a niche to relax for drinks and food. She is Australian and apparently works many hours and she looked so exhausted. I offered her peppermint tea and when the traffic finally died down, she did me the favor of having a sip. You can see her stress level drop from a full days work. There were 3 obnoxious women who were there asking for the owner. They were rude, and not nice. I saw Rima trying her best to accommodate them and they were just nasty. The place was full and they were quite demanding. They were there for a long time and when they finally left, Rima went over to say goodbye. These 3 girls with no manners could barely acknowledge them and never once any eye contact. I hope they don't know the owner personally because then he would have bad taste in having friends like these 3 nasty women. The basil drink is fantastic and the amor caliente drink was a little sour but I enjoyed it. Also ordered the mushrooms, had a tiny spicy to it perfectly matching. The charcuterie board was full of amazingly great tasting meats and cheeses. Our service Jose was very professional. Our drink dropped but he still kept it on the bill. I did not complain, it was our fault. Except the obnoxious women who apparently knew the owner, it was a fantastic evening and warrants more visits especially in the summer. read more

The atmosphere here is everything!! Inside or outside. Quite the dining experience and worth the price. You definitely experience city pricing but again it's worth it. The food is delicious but the servings are small so make sure you order enough. My fav has to be the pulpo and the tuna!!! The main courses are pretty regular but every app on here is amazing. It's worth it to do the tasting menu for your first experience but do add on the pulpo!!! read more

Apologized for the situation we had and ensured us that it will be taken care of. On top of this she personally called my fiancé and spoke to her over the phone for about half an hour explaining their policy and how sorry they are that we got terrible service. My fiancé decided to give MyMoon one more shot and we came in to tour the venue today. We were greeting by the owner and then of course, Rina. Rina took her time to explain everything to us and show us everything that the venue had to offer. She was very patient, informative and just pleasant all around. Whether or not we personally have our wedding with MyMoon, we are definitely interested in coming back for dinner and recommending it to friends for their events. Thank you MyMoon, the owner & Rina. Terrible costumer service. Was considering this place for a wedding venue. Didn't even get to see it. Had to cancel a viewing several hours before the time and was literally berated by the management. You can not treat cust with disrespect. Would never do business or send any business their way. MyMoon was a magical wedding venue! I'm so glad my wife and I decided to get married here. We instantly fell in love with the vibe when we went for our first site visit. The exposed brick, banquets, and dark wood tables were right up our alley. Then we met Lee, the wedding planner mastermind, and were sold. Lee is incredible and made our day as great as it was. He was very responsive leading up to the wedding, and very timely. He was on top of every detail, and I felt very comfortable leaving things in his hands (which was hard for me, being an event professional). The day of the wedding, it rained, and Lee and his team were flexible and setup the ceremony outside the instant it stopped, allowing us to proceed with our plan A. We saw them all hustling to get it done. Dinner service also went smoothly, and my wife and I always had a drink in our hands thanks to Lee. The tables had to be moved for dancing, and it seemed like it took only seconds, the team was so good. The food was also incredible! I'd highly recommend this wedding venue to anyone getting married, especially same sex couples. Lee gave a heartfelt speech before the ceremony began, and I know we'll stay in touch for years to come. read more

Jeanne and the owners were incredibly accommodating, and created multiple food stations and bars throughout the space. I took my family here last week. I didn't scope it out first so I was pretty nervous, especially since my family is Spanish and typically very critical of tapas and paella. With a party of 7 we were able to order about 2/3s of the tapas as well as the charcuterie board and two paellas. It was about the perfect amount of food. The service was great. The restaurant wasn't very hopping, as it was a Monday night, but even so we were served pretty quickly. Our server was incredibly friendly and advised us well. The food was pretty great. My grandma questioned the server about where the chorizo cam from before we ordered, and while it wasn't her favorite brand, she approved of his answer. The patatas bravas were especially delicious. Great texture, lathered in a nice sauce. The paella was amazing. It wasn't cooked to a crust, which I typically prefer, but the texture of the rice was perfect so I let that pass. I razzed my dad about it being even better than his homemade paella. That was pretty mean, I probably shouldn't have said that. Still, it was worth the compliment. From the moment we chose MyMoon as our wedding venue (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), we knew we made the perfect choice. We first visited MyMoon to have dinner and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and the food. The venue is absolutely breathtaking - there is a wooden patio outside with hanging mason jars and lights as well as padded wooden booths and benches. The inside is stunning - rustic dark wood and high industrial ceilings and a beautiful bar. From the first sight we could picture having our wedding here. When the day actually came, everything looked even more beautiful than we could have envisioned. MyMoon offers several wedding packages, all very affordable for a Williamsburg wedding, especially when you consider everything you are getting as part of your package. We had a fairly small wedding - approximately 70 people on a Friday night. We went with the family-style dinner and everything was delicious and we felt that we had more than enough food for everyone. The bartender was great and really handled our crowd perfectly. However, none of this would be possible without Lee, the on -site wedding coordinator. Lee was the biggest help throughout the entire wedding planning process, and I don't think I can ever explain how grateful we are to him. He answered every email, question, and concern with lightening speed, leaving no detail unaddressed. He helped us stay on track and organized, making sure all of our vendors were on the same page. On the day of our wedding, everything went so smoothly that my husband and I were able to just have fun and enjoy the day instead of worrying about anything at all. All our guests keep telling us how beautiful and unique our wedding was, and we know we have MyMoon and Lee to thank for making it possible. My Moon is quite possibly the largest restaurant in Williamsburg, if not the world. I was the first of my large party to arrive last night, and thus had the pleasure of negotiating the table situation. This restaurant, which could easily host a holiday party for the entirety of the UN (with +1s!) was maybe only 1/3 full at 8 pm on a Friday night, and yet the host inexplicably gestured to the table right by the door. This was a mistake. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's sitting by the door, especially when it's 22 degrees outside. I politely asked if we might have a different table further inside, and the host looked around at his 2/3 empty restaurant, shrugged, and said, "you have a large group--there's no where else to put you." I just barely suppressed a giant snort. "It's cold by the door," I said. "We're not sitting there." "Oh but you see, we have one of those cardboard vestibule thingies," he explained. "The cold air doesn't come in!" This was a bald-faced lie, and I was not about to let him get away with it. "DUDE," I said firmly. "Someone just walked in, and I got an arctic blast! There has to be somewhere else in your big-ass, empty restaurant for us to sit!" He finally caved and said that there was a group that was finishing up, and if we would wait a bit, we could have their table. I accepted, and settled in at the bar to work on a Manhattan whose size was rivaled only by the restaurant itself. Once we were seated, the meal went relatively well--the kebabs were nicely cooked, my polenta was delicious, and they gave us like 3 rounds of extra yummy bread. They also accommodated my friend who had to leave early, and brought his meal out within minutes after he ordered. But then came the matter of splitting the bill amongst 3 cards plus a little cash, a feat of mathematics apparently only conquerable by the most advanced of numbers scholars. Seriously, there were easily 4 people in front of the register monitor, wrestling with our tab for at least 15 minutes. We kept craning our necks to check on them, wondering when the slide rule would make an appearance. So...I don't know. If you're not one of those people who's easily bothered by service issues (but who am I kidding--this is Yelp!), I'd say you should go here, because the food overall was quite good. But if you're more of a full experience kind of person, this may be the quickest path to tearing your hair out in frustration. read more

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING. THIS PLACE IS CREEPY AND I THINK I MAY HAVE BEEN PHYSICALLY THREATENED. The decor here is incredible. Sexy, welcoming, and spacious with beautiful artwork. The drink prices are steep, though, and the waiters are f*ck3d in the head. This is worth an explanation. I was part of a group that received some comps for an event, but then I got a bill for something like $180 for two glasses of champagne. Turns out the waiter had rolled several people's tabs into mine because I was the last to arrive at a table of six. He had said very plainly to some of these people that certain aspects were comped, so they left (it is highly possible that they knew not all of it was comped, but so it goes) and then I got this bill. When I mentioned that I wasn't responsible for a bill for 6 people when I showed up for the last 20 minutes of their meal and that he had told me one of my glasses was comped, too, he basically became serial-killer silent/angry. I felt like this could be solved. I wasn't angry. I wasn't impatient. I did however ask for my credit card back, because I didn't want anyone running that amount. It just really seemed like he figured because I gave him a card for what may have been four or five drinks that I gave him a card to pick up the whole tab. Not true, but if it was a misunderstanding, we'll figure it out. Instead, while he went to get my card, he whispers to two other waiters, who then come over and SURROUND ME, each at a side angle to me, one in front and one in back, as if I'm going to run, even though they still have my credit card. I ask them what they're doing and they just nod at me silently, which is not really reassuring. The guy brought back a new bill, but didn't bring back my credit card, until I agreed to the new bill, which didn't include the comped champagne I was promised, but, at that point, it was worth paying an extra $15 for a glass of freakin' Prosecco just to get out of there. So, just don't go there. The waiters aren't right. read more

I have been to My Moon about 6 times since June. Its not just the exposed brick, or the delicious food, or even the amazing staff... I got married here the day after Valentine's day. Am I biased? Possibly. But as my now husband and I look back, hiring Ruggero and the my moon staff to make my day possible was the best decision i ever made. The decor is beautiful. Exposed Brick. Beautiful booths. And dark wooden communal tables in the center. Its very Game of Thrones. The staff is extremely knowledgeable of the menu and can recommend wine pairings or a dish if you aren't sure of what you may like. The food is... well, fantastic. Forget the banquet hall food you imagine at other weddings- this is quality stuff. The menu boasted of seared tuna, langoustine, wild mushrooms, beef tenderloin, lamb shank and chicken. There was something for everyone and even the vegetarian leek canneloni soup was good enough to make this carnivore have a hard time choosing between steak and soup... i went with the beef tenderloin that was amazing. Cooked to perfection. Some may have complained that the portions were on the small side but thats simply because the steak was so good- you just wanted more. Ruggero, who managed my wedding, was my life saver. He answered all my emails in a timely fashion, he talked me off many ledges when i just couldnt handle any wedding stress. He also set up for me the day of. My wedding day was the coldest day of the year. I ordered a heated tent for my ceremony. When that heated tent was insufficient, Ruggero, jumped into action and set up an aisle in My Moon for me to utilize as my "chapel". I hear it was a little chaotic but all i had to do was smile in my photos and drink champagne. The thing everyone still talks about is how different a wedding at My Moon is and how good the food is. Do yourself a favor. If you are looking for an intimate and memorable wedding with a sort of all inclusive deal- My Moon is your best bet. Next time I get married, I wont waste time looking at venues, i am going straight to My Moon! read more

Really disappointed with how we were seated. The place has these beautiful booths and there were two open when we arrived with reservations. They instead wanted to seat us in the center section where no one was sitting like we were on display. When we asked for a booth, they said that they were saving them for larger parties but some of the currently filled booths only had 2 people in them. We opted to sit at the bar instead. One of the booths that was open never filled the entire time we were there. The place had an empty feel to it. The ambiance just wasn't right. Despite having a great bartender and delicious food, we'll probably never go back. The seating situation just kind of ruined it for us. read more

This review is more for the treatment I got in my quest to find a wedding venue. I have not been to MyMoon or eaten its food. I submitted a form via MyMoon inquiring about their venue for a wedding. After submission, the form indicated that someone will get back to me within 48 hours. Well I waited to the next day and decided to call the restaurant to talk with someone who would be able to help me. When I spoke with an individual there, he rudely asked me if I submitted a form online which I responded yes and that I submitted it almost two days ago. He said to wait for them to contact me and that he could not help me while he was on the line with me. UPDATE: For those who do inquire via the website, check your spam folder as the owner has indicated. I'm not sure why it does that but would think MyMoon should look into that as others (similar to my situation) may think no one is reaching out to them to discuss having their wedding at this venue. This may be difficult as it is also hard to talk to someone via the phone when you call the restaurant. read more

**** This review is for the wedding and event services: We were married at Mymoon last week and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it as a venue or its manager Ruggero. We looked at several spaces when it was time to chose a venue but the combination of aesthetics and Ruggero's absolutely professional demeanor put it way over the top for us. If you are having a warm weather wedding do not underestimate that outdoor area. We had a gorgeous 79 degree day so our ceremony was held out there and our guests loved hanging out there for cocktail hour and outdoor breaks throughout the evening. It is gorgeous, photo ready, and a perfect backdrop. The inside is also stunning- high ceilings and exposed brick and it's enormous. Very roomy and comfortable for everyone to enjoy their night. Friends and family are still raving about the beautiful atmosphere that night! As for the food and drinks, again, people are still talking about it. Everybody said it was over and beyond for wedding food- from the passed hors d'oeuvres, to the appetizers, to the main courses, to the desserts everything was delicious and elegantly presented. Drinks were lovely and we basically had a full bar plus red and white sangria that everyone seemed to enjoy. One detail that should not be overlooked is the service. In addition to Ruggero's meticulous planning and coordinating throughout the night his staff is top notch. Everyone was professional and friendly. Wedding Review: Amazing space, food and Staff I am from Europe and my wife is from New Hampshire so we decided we wanted friends and family to see where we live in Williamsburg, and our wedding was a great way to get so many of them to see it. We had a list of requirements: - Restaurant quality food (not catered or a different menu for events) - Outdoor ceremony /Aisle for Father of the bride to walk the bride down - Non traditional décor / venue that was Brooklyn / Williamsburg - Some where we could use local vendors - Value for money - All inclusive, we live in the city and don't have time to waste picking out chairs and silverware - Private venue (exclusive use of facilities) We shortlisted 4 places and went to see them all, and ate at all of them. The list is below: - Wythe Hotel, this venue was not all-inclusive meaning extra work and a lot more cost. We did rent the South 8th loft for 2 nights, which has lots of space and amazing views of the city, but is VERY noisy if you want to go to bed before 2am due to the proximity to the bar and single glazed windows. - Radegast beer garden (back room), we liked this space but it does not have any outdoor space or dedicated ceremony space. - Brooklyn Winery, the décor here was amazing, but again the space lacked an outdoor space. Mymoon - The night we went to see Mymoon we met Ruggero, who explained everything to us and also had the great news (for us at least) that they had a cancelation for the last Saturday in September. We had a great meal that night and he held the date for us for a couple of days while we checked it would work with our families. From that initial meeting till after the wedding Ruggero and his team took care of everything and also made us feel like they really cared about us and our special day (despite doing up to 3 weddings a weekend in the summer). While there are lots of great things I can say about Mymoon, the below were the most important to us: - The food, excluding the wedding and tasting we have eaten at Mymoon maybe 4 or 5 times before the wedding, and while the menu is reduced to less items (of your choice) for the wedding, the ones that are served are the same excellent ones you will eat there any other night of the week. - The multi area venue, the all in price gets you exclusive use of the whole venue and includes: a dedicated outdoor ceremony space (optional tent at extra cost if needed), a dedicated cocktail hour space outside, the main dining room, a small bridal suite and the side room (that can be used for larger numbers). We got 103 people in to the main room as we wanted every one together, it was tight, but it worked. The best thing about the venue is how much character it has, which means that you only need to add small touches to make it look awesome. - Vendors: MyMoon gives you a list of vendors they work with, but you are free to use whoever you want, a few local ones worth noting are: o Our florist Pola @ Rosehip: http://www.tashiandbobo.com/ who was great value for money and very creative o Scratch Wedding who supplied both DJ Carver and the Sidewinder String trio: http://www.scratchweddings.com/ o We decided on a non traditional cake, doughnuts and a local spot called Dun Well hit the spot: http://dunwelldoughnuts.com/ We had a really amazing wedding here, our guests came from as far as New Zealand and as close as Manhattan, but all said how amazing the wedding was. Sort of a crazy train wreck of an NJ/Vegas style attempt at "class" and food that featured the single worst dish I have eaten in my life. Cigarette carpaccio, anyone? Lots of things set off red flags about this huge space - for one, the fact that it was almost totally empty at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. Yet, the staff managed to leave us standing in the door, staring at the almost-vacant dining room, listening to the DJ (another Vegas/Jersey touch). The new chef, claiming to be an "El Bulli protege", has created a schizophrenic menu of "tapas" as well as standard app/entree/dessert selections. Our waiter was friendly but didn't seem terribly well trained (didn't know what was behind the bar and was generally tentative-seeming). I ordered the "smoked carpaccio" and the steak; my wife had the lamb and the flatbread pizza. The carpaccio arrives in a smoke-filled dome - which looks ridiculous, but smells worse. When they release the top, what you essentially get is a blast of smoke in the face. Not pleasant, BBQ-type smoke either; more the type of smoke you get when you, say, burn something. The dish tasted exactly like a cigarette. I don't smoke, generally, but I've smoke enough cigarettes to remember the taste. My wife agreed. I know I should have sent this back, but really, the whole scene was already so discomfiting, I didn't see the point. The remaining dishes were alright.. not the best cuts of meat, and the lamb sauce was a tad on the sweet side. There are other complaints about pricing among the Yelp reviews, and I would agree that for the quality of food, the food here is overpriced. Also, their attempt to charge $40 for a bottle of Trapiche Malbec that is sold for as little as $7 in most wine stores is emblematic in general of their pricing structure. This place does a good bit of business as a special event space. For their sake, I hope the special event menu is simpler and better executed. As a standalone restaurant, I don't see this surviving with the current team in place. read more

A Memorable Moment at MyMoon I got a dinner for two voucher from GiltCity which included a bottle of wine, appetizer, a salad, an entree, and a dessert to share. The woven complimentary flat bread was warm and crisp. The bread served as a vehicle for the delicious olive tapenade headed right to my mouth. We decided to go with the red, which was a Spanish mix of berry flavors. For the apps we chose the croquettes and the octopus. The light and crisp croquettes were filled with some ooey-gooey goodness. The grilled octopus app had an awesome smoky flavor and was swimming in a sexy starchy cream sauce they called potato foam. Regardless of what you want to call it, it was certainly a standout start to our meal. We both had the goat cheese beet salad which we thought was well done. They definitely don't skimp on the goat cheese. I think the dish would be better with less goat cheese and more beets. The goat cheese sits in between two circular slices of beets, and looks like a miniature ice-cream sandwich. We both selected the 'Suckling Pig' as our main event. We absolutely fell in love with the dish. The crisp cracklin' pork skin puts its cousin Peking duck to shame. Somewhere between the mmmms and seductive eye contact was the warm succulent melt in your mouth meat. The sweetness of the raisins complemented the savory pig in a sensationally sinful way. Oh, and I can't forget about that comforting velvety puree which married all the flavors together perfectly. The last two bites of the entree might be overwhelmingly heavy for an average lady, but I celebrated every last meaty morsel. The Chocolate Souffle dessert was like a highly refined Domino's Lava Cake. I usually don't like overly sweet desserts but this was a rare exception. The sultry warm chocolate oozing out the center was exquisite. The buttery almond ice cream counterbalanced the sweetness of the chocolate. I just wish there was a little bit more ice cream. The service was great. The artful presentation was flawless. The Gothic ambiance was romantic. The food was amazing. It is time to make a confession and come clean. Usually, the first thing I think about when I wake up is my lady; but the next morning after MyMoon, it was that 'Suckling Pig.' Hopefully she'll understand. Bravo, MyMoon. read more
