I have gone to this location for over a decade.. and I used to love it. I started to develop…read moresignificant flashes in my eyesight and went in to have it checked out. The doctor told me they saw nothing and there was a chance within the next 5 weeks my retina could detach. I ended up going to wills eye mid Atlantic retina for a second opinion.. I got diagnosed with Central serous retinopathy (CSR) where fluid builds up behind the retina in the eye causing vision distortion. When I went in for my follow up at Springfield opticians the doctor got angry. She was upset I had gotten a second opinion and basically told me I only have floaters and that I should just leave since I have another appt with wills eye.. (even though she had the report from wills eye in her hand. She didn't even care to read it..) Needless to say, if you're having serious eye issues I would be cautious.

I sent a new, updated script by email some time ago and no one ever got back to me. (I wear contacts most of the time as I have severe myopia plus astigmatism.) I've just now updated the script and called to follow up on the original offer. I do not live close to their locations and was just calling as a heads-up. Guess I got the wrong person on the phone because suddenly there's a time limit and they won't honor the stated policy.

One of the kids got inpatient and started to move the chair around and accidentally put one of his foot on the chair. I already told him to put it down... and the older lady at the front desk said some rude comments. Lady, I told my son to take his foot down. Just chill out. Then, he went to the bathroom.... and she went after he came out. She made some snarky remarks again. Geese... lady... I subtracted two stars because of the staff. The doc is good, very thorough. Dr. Marie, Sara, and Sandy were very professional and personal. I was impressed with my experience there and recommended my wife to go there too. A few weeks ago I went there again to get my contact lens exam and as always they were very nice and helpful. BTW they had a new member, April, and she is very helpful too! I did my exam and was given two weeks to try a new kind of contact lens, which did much better job to keep moisture. I went back and asked for some adjustment on my prescription and then I was given another two weeks to try that before I decided to buy. They didn't force me to order anything from them but I wanted to. I traveled a lot recently. Before my order arrived, they gave me some contact lens so I could use them for my trips. Today my order arrived but I couldn't get it as I came home late and their office will be closed this weekend. I'm flying out this weekend so I ask for help. They were so nice and were willing to drop the box on my patio. When I came home, saw my contact lens box sitting on my patio and a line of footprints in the deep snow, I decided to write this review to express my appreciation. This is definitely the go-to place I would recommend to anyone living around this area!!!
