I selected Jahnle because of convenient location, free parking, and yes, examination, and eyeglasses. Stacks of eyeglasses in different colors and styles were neatly positioned ahead as I entered the office. The office was eye-pleasing, properly lit, and well-appointed. The staff was professional and courteous. An assistant promptly completed a questionnaire as I provided answers about my health status. She applied drops for the standard Glaucoma and retinal examinations. The tests were conducted quickly and comfortably. Best yet, no sign of vision deterioration and no need for replacement glasses. The examining physician, Dr. Mekel, indicated that I would not need another exam for two years. Although glasses could be ordered here, he provided a prescription in the event I wished glasses manufactured elsewhere. A pleasant experience!

Dr. Brian Shafer is by far the best ophthalmologist I've ever had. I first met him when he did my…read morecataract/glaucoma surgery and have continued to see him for continuing care ever since. under his care, My vision improved incredibly and my IOP decreased to a low of 10/10 and high of 19/19. He says my glaucoma is no longer moderate but mild and my peripheral vision is outstanding. If you need cataract surgery or have glaucoma, he is the first doctor you should see. The office experience is also outstanding -- all his employees are cheerful and able to explain every procedure you undergo. His equipment is state-of-the-art, and you don't have to take drops for your IOP to be measured. I cannot recommend Dr. Shafer and his practice enough!
