I purchased new glasses here and a protection plan allowing for one free lens replacement per year. My glasses were scratched when I picked them up and MyEyeDr replaced them. Fast forward a couple months, my lens crack - I didn't drop them or damage them. Literally cracked out of nowhere. I call MyEyeDr to replace the lens and they say that I already used my protection plan for the year. Wait...the first scratch from when I picked them up went on MY protection plan? Yep! Their mistake went on my protection plan and now "there's nothing they can do." But after calling a different MyEyeDr office, they told me that my protection plan hadn't yet been used and I was eligible for a free replacement lens. So were they lying or just incompetent? I don't know, but I suggest going somewhere else so you don't have to find out. Cheap materials and coatings and extremely rude staff. Don't go here for your eyewear needs unless you want to spend hundreds of dollar on low-quality products. read more

Great service here and we're very satisfied with the results. My wife needed a new pair of glasses after the puppy nosed her way into a drawer and ate the backup pair. Yes, the dog really did chew them up. So we're here for a new eye exam and returned for a fitting. Very pleased with the friendly and helpful service. This is the absolute worst place to get vision care. I had to go to three Drs' in one location on S. Tryon in 2020 & two of the Drs' had different scripts. So out of three doctors, I had two different scripts?!! Then my daughter goes there a month ago. She was having issues ordering online contacts w/her script. She calls S. Tryon location, where she went, & they don't show a prescription for her! They refer her to different locations that she's never been to, they say the Dr is working at those locations at the time. No one can help her get the correct script. They even acted as if they couldn't find her exam. They have no better advice for my her. I urged her to call back. She calls back today, they said they will give her a call when the Dr. (Dr. Morrison) comes back from lunch. My daughter goes online again to look & see if her script is in the system correctly while waiting on a call back & what a surprise, the Dr. put her script in the system correctly, but never called her back. She has one of the least prescriptions you can have at -.5. None of the locations could get her script for her & have the nerve to act like they didn't even do an exam. We were getting ready to contact the insurance company. Don't ever go here! Do not put your eyes in these people's care. read more

Called the no# listed on Yelp. Spoke to a gentleman. I mentioned that I have a Tory Burch sunglasses that I brought from Sunglasses Hut. The nose piece came off and I was wondering if they can look at it and fix just. Of course I'm willing to pay. He set my appointment up for 11:50am that Saturday. When I showed up. No one seem to know what I'm talking about. I mentioned that I just got off the phone with the gentleman and even showed them the appointment via email. 3 staffs seem to still be very confused.. And I said well can you just look at my sunglasses to see if it can be fix. They quickly glanced at it and said no. At this time. I'm too annoyed to argue. Watching her she was actually doing NOTHING. No updates no reason for being late. Watched her do the same to other customers but stop everything she was doing to flirt or help people she knew. I'm never using my eye dr again not spending my time and money with business that do NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR CUSTOMERS AT ALL. I just had the worst customer service interaction with one of the the associate at this location by the name of Sidney. I walked in 6/15/23 to pick up my pair of trial contacts at this location. Sidney told me the technician was busy and I should wait with what seemed like an attitude but I ignored it. While waiting another associate asked me if I've been helped. I proceed to tell her I was asked to wait since the techs were busy, before I even finished my sentence Sidney inserted herself back into the conversations telling her colleagues she already told me it would be a while like I was complaining. I told her she asked me a question and I answered, she goes well I already told you while rolling her neck at me and talking with her hands. I asked her why she was being rude and she only elevated her voice and told me "I'm not being rude" I asked for her name and she waved me off and walked off without giving me her name. The only thing that is keeping this from being a 5 star review is the technician, Brianna. I had my appt the beginning of June, the first time having an appt outside of home since the pandemic began. I had to ask her to wear a mask over her mouth and nose instead of under her chin. She rolled her eyes and was short with me the remainder of the visit. Everyone who comes in is required to wear a mask, so why shouldn't she be required to wear it properly? There were others wearing their masks under their chins as well, but they weren't close to me and I just prayed and let it go. My eye dr was male, I couldn't find his name even on my prescription. However he was phenomenal! He asked detailed questions, kept everything we both touched sanitary and neat. He was informative and even provided me with questions I can ask my PCP. The receptionist came to the door and led me in, provided me with a mask and got my sign in info. read more

What a dumpster fire of a business. I've never been so insulted or offended in my life. I went in for a simple glasses adjustment and they downright refused to help me. They said because my glasses were Warby Parker and not one of the frames they sell, they don't want to risk breaking the frames. When I said "that's ok. I'll accept the risk. I don't want to drive 20 or 30 minutes to a Warby Parker store to get them adjusted" they responded "Yeah we're still not going to do it. Good luck!" You'll never get my or my wife's business. Have been seeing Dr. Levinson for many years now, because she is excellent, kind and caring. Saw the many negative reviews and was braced for difficulty, but had NONE. The receptionist was professional and polite, the wait was non-existent and Dr. Levinson was, as always, a complete pro. Maybe some of the difficulties others experience were due to the strain on all businesses - and on all of us - during Covid. Moving a 1 star review to a 5 star is no small feat! Same Optometrist (Dr M) - and he was equally as great as last time. Different assistant that was ultra friendly. The front desk staff were different folks- cordial and not overly chatty with me but I can't blame them (wooo- I was HOT about how I was treated last time-I don't know why the desk staff bothered me so much last time but- I would've steered clear of me Too!) Pleased to report that 1) they did honor my Right to refuse the glasses previously and 2) I had to return because I was having issues with the type of contacts that I picked. Much to my surprise, they were ultra nice about changing out my contact brand prescription. Although I had already bought a year supply, and was fully prepared to eat the cost of that purchase since it would not be financially devastating to me, they offered to exchange them without asking! This is a great benefit and really good for consumer confidence. This is my all time favorite eye doctor. Dr. Nygen is fabulous. She really cares about the patient, eye health, and making the best decisions for her patients. She's extremely knowledgeable and is really able to break down the medical aspect to the patient. In the retail part of the store, everyone is awesome and so accommodating. But I'd like to give special recognition to Dennis who went above and beyond my expectations. I recently moved out of state, and will Dennis offered to ship my new sunglasses and contacts to me. When the glasses were delayed due to a scratch they found in the lens before they shipped them, Dennis proactively called me to let me know and offered to send a consolation item for the inconvenience. I had experience very similar to the one described by other clients. Initially they made a mistake placing my order, and after waiting 2 weeks, I had to come back so the correct order is placed (the technician ordered single vision instead of progressives). After waiting over 2 weeks for my corrected order, I called in to check and found out that the office did not sent my order until almost a week later. I expressed my disappointment during the phone conversation to which I got a reply "This office will be what it is, we do not control what lab does, you can choose where you go". I replied that I was glad that she shared this with me and I will take this into the consideration when choosing an optometrist office for my future needs and when sharing my experience with friends and family. I really have no idea why this place get such bad reviews. The whole stuff group and both doctors (Dr. Nguyen and Moonan) are extremely friendly, nice and servile. I've been here for contact lens fitting and Lasik pre-op and post-op visits, and couldn't be happier I chose them. Also, I love how kids friendly they are, they have special chairs for little ones, books, and they also were extremely patient when I came with my 2 years old daughter (couldn't leave her anywhere). I usually have a good experience in this store, but when I came in here last because the wrong contacts were sent to me, the associate completely acted like I was inconveniencing her. She had advised over the phone that I would have the contacts shipped to me, but then told me that I would have to pick them up when I came in. I asked to clarify, and she gave me an attitude saying that she never told me that. I know it's not her fault there was a mix-up, but usually when their is a mix-up the store usually acknowledges some sort of mistake and inconvenience to the customer, but the only inconvenience that seemed to be happening was for the person that works there. Usually everyone in there is friendly, but this person was not at all and made for a poor experience. I'll choose another location in the future. read more

THE WORST SERVICE. Poor service from staff and from store manager. I went for my eye example early this year, they offered 8 days to get my sample for my contacts and I had to wait 1 month. The sample did not work and they offered a 2nd trial, and it was another month to get and the prescription was not adjusted. I had to make several calls to get some feedback about the status of my contacts, they simply said no feedback, they were going to check with the manufacturer and never called me back. All the staff is very rude and in my last visit they left a post-it for the new doctor, giving instructions to her about how to treat me "difficult customer" this is such a bad service and treatment. worst possible experience I could have in this office. I came in with a pair of sunglasses to be adjusted that I had bought there a year ago. I also had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Noonan who is the only wonderful thing about this place. I tried to check in and main receptionist was on the phone. Then another girl from the optical area walked up to the counter. I asked if she could check me in and I had some sunglasses to be fixed. she said they could not fix my sunglasses till after my appointment. She handed me a form and made me sit down. The attitude was horrible. i Complained to the doctor when he finally saw me. Then I said I'm not buying glasses here. I just need a prescription. Despite him talking to someone about he just settling and not buying glasses, they still sat me down in the optical area. One girl said you can go look at glasses. I told her I just needed my glasses fixed and to check out. She said I would have to wait till the other customer was done looking at glasses. I told the girl again my problem I was having, she preceded to start giggling looking at another tech and could not stop laughing.Finally I paid the manager who took a moment to deal with me. I told her to tell Dr. Noonan, I did not get my glasses fixed and I would never come back there. read more

My appt with Dr. Moonan was good and he was great. The staff seemed friendly. I ordered $1k worth of contacts and glasses and that's where the nightmare started. They give you a "promise date" which is typically 3 weeks out- much longer than any other place I've been too. I have never had to wait longer than a week for glasses before. They explained it's an over estimate and they should be here sooner. About 2 weeks later I get a text that my contacts are in but not glasses. Ask why. They don't know. 30 min later they call and say there was a mix up and they either didn't order the glasses or shipped them to the wrong location? So they won't be in until another 2 weeks putting it to over a month. From the very second I stepped foot in this place I explained to them all about my migraines and how I needed a new prescription because they have gotten so bad due to the outdated script I currently have. They just don't care as shown by their actions. I asked to put a rush on them and pay for it due to this. The girl didn't know how. They finally came in and said an appt is required for pickup. I have been calling for over 2 weeks but no one answers the phone. I have left 6 voicemails. Not a single one got returned. I am having issues seeing in the contact prescription I received. Finally got someone on the phone this morning. They can't help. It's honestly useless to come to this place if you want to be treated like a valued customer. Luckily there are plenty of other competitors out there willing to treat you with respect and not take you for granted once you make your initial purchase. Due to a funeral in the family, I had to cancel my previous appointment (3/21/2022) and scheduled a new one in April 7 because original plan that I stay to help my sister for 2 wks. Then family plan changed to postpone the help to later month. So, I decided to move my April appt to March. I went online to Arbors location, to schedule appointment. It said Dr Kelci Walter has 2 opening slots today, 3/10/2022 and a whole 2 wks of close toward the end of March 2022 for Dr Walter. I was careful before making a change of my April appointment online by calling 704 971-5000 and spoke to the lady of appointment desk. I told her about the two opened slots I saw online. She said no opened slots for Dr Walter today according to her appointment books. I said OK, is there any other open dates in March before April 7th (my original one)? She said NO, April is the earliest appts. Her answer was pretty short and not sound friendly. I told her what I saw on the Online versus what she told me. She said nothing I can do with the Online. That's it. Short answer. I felt as I bothered your business or the location is not welcoming me. I went there last year with Dr Wirkus but he moved to a new location now. I would like someone to look into the gap between Online and the local front desk (1823 Arbors drive, suite 305, Charlotte NC 28262) . The doctor was fine, but the "sales-y" guy afterwards was not. I was trying to try on different glasses, and he just kept handing me different pairs, saying he thought he knew what would look best on me. He was very persistent and would not let me browse on my own, as I indicated I wanted to do. The WORST part of it all is the lack of customer service. I decided to purchase my glasses elsewhere due to lofty prices at My Eye Dr. I called not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times and spoke with a woman at the front desk named Trudy who said my prescription would be emailed to me. After four times, I still have not received my prescription and am beyond frustrated as I can't purchase glasses without it. I plan on talking to my insurance company to see if I can be refunded and go to a different doctor. Do not recommend, at all. read more

I like Dr. Nancie Nguyen, she is always friendly and takes time to answer questions. She is always through with her exams and looks out for her patients to ensure they get the best deal. My problem with this office is that every single year something goes wrong. This year - my contacts were not delivered several days after the delivery date. When I called on 3/18 the person who answered the phone could not tell me if they were delivered, but said she would call back. I called back on 3/19 and spoke with someone claiming it was delivered 3/13. When I asked for the carrier or tracking number I was put on hold for another 10 minutes and then asked if she could call back later. Eventually someone did call back to say there was an error and the order was not transmitted to the vendor. She reordered but I did not receive my new set until almost a month after my visit. The year before someone cancelled my appointment out of the system on accident, but they were able to squeeze me in. The year before that Dr. Nguyen had put an order for me to try an astigmatism contact that they did not have in stock. When I went to pick it up they wanted to charge me $30 for the one contact so I left and renewed the normal contacts. When she asked me on the next visit what I didn't like about the sample contact she was not happy to hear what should have been a free trial was not tried because her staff tried to charge me for it. Why keep going back? I really like Dr. Nguyen, the office is super clean, and they price match contacts from 1800 contacts and will give you a free pair of sunglasses if you order your year supply of contacts there. read more

Love Dr. Nguyen! She has been my optometrist for almost a decade and I couldn't be happier. I found out I needed Toric lenses several years ago. I didn't like any of the products on the market. As soon as Proclear Toric lenses became available, Dr. Nguyen referred them to me and I have been so much happier with my vision ever since. She takes great care of me and works hard to make sure I am comfortable with my prescription and my contacts every year. I try to buy new eyeglasses every 4-5 years. They are super expensive and a big investment, so I am always hesitant about purchasing them. I usually spend forever looking at frames and weighing my options. This year I worked with Marcus. He was amazing! He did a great job picking out frames that fit my face and my personal style. All of his choices looked much better on me than mine did. Next time I need glasses, I'm letting him pick my options. He was also super helpful price matching with other companies (even online) and tried to get me the best deal possible. I spend a lot of money, but I also saved about as much as I spent this year. I will definitely be a lifetime client! read more

I wanted to get my eyes checked so looked for places nearby that had a high yelp rating... found My Eye Dr, made an appointment for my day off and thought that was that. I immediatly begin getting emails asking me to confirm my appointment, which I did as soon as I got them. The first email felt efficient, the second one felt redundant and made me question their internal practices and understanding of technology as pertaining to how it comes across to their patients. The third email made me REALLY start to rethink this idea. Then SATURDAY comes and I get a phone call from *another branch* ?!? of My Eye Dr. asking me about my insurance, which I'd already discussed the day I called to make the appointment. The lady that called seemed medicated; she had zero respect for my time, talked very slowly and repeated the information over and over, told me all about her computer system & how it was slow, blah blah blah... to the point that I had to tell her I didn't have time to talk anymore. Then on SUNDAY I get yet another appointment reminder via text.?. WTF? I'm feeling stalked and harrassed by these people at this point... this is an eye exam, not a nuclear arms discussion! The text even said if I had questions to call, so I did, wanting to ask why they continue to hassle me and of course, they're closed on Sundays making the verbiage in their text incorrect as I CAN'T actually call anyone with my questions because they're not open on Sundays!! WOW. So Monday morning comes and I arrive to this infernal appointment hoping for the best and am immediatly questioned again by a rude man at the front desk... he starts off saying "There's still a question about your insurance..." as if I'm somehow still being considered for the appointment. I told him that there should be no question of anything as I've now discussed the insurance issue twice with two different people within this organization. He said well I just noticed it and wanted to verify it before we move forward. Ok- so what was the point of hounding me all weekend long if they didn't even put the information into their system.?. This place is clearly SOLELY concerned about the money... they hadn't met me, hadn't seen my eyes, nothing but were wildly concerned with how I'm going to pay for the services that I haven't even gotten yet. And they must have so many patients that miss appointments that they're hyper vigilent in reminding of appointments to an annoying degree. I don't miss appointments and I don't appreciate being hounded in this manner as I'm an adult and can manage an eye appointment. The rude man at the desk was the final straw for me; so I thanked him and turned around and walked out without having my eyes examined. I'm simply not interested in dealing with a place that operates in this manner or along these lines, so no point even going through with the appointment, I'm beyond irritated and don't want to give them any of my money. Bad customer service after purchase. After being a customer for many years I have been sold a damaged safety glass frame with a gauged out piece and not just scratched. Unfortunately, I was also sold an obsolete frame that could not be replaced. I was promised a selection of comparable frames. For 2 month the manager newer reached out to me. I had to ask on updates and promises were never followed up. Finally, after asking to have money returned, I must wait again 4-6 weeks to get my money back and most likely lost my insurance benefits from last year. read more

Doctors are fine, but they cannot get my glasses on time or correct 8 times out of 10. That's the actual number. Been trying 4 years, going somewhere else next year. Scripts come back late, or wrong or both. Manager gave me free lenses for my sunglasses last year in compensation for the 5 visits I had to make to get my new glasses, but even the free lenses are a waste. They are polarized (which I didn't ask for) so I get weird yellow and blue streaks if I look at my phone while wearing them. read more

Came hear after doing some research fir an in network provider and having a horrid experience two years ago with another provider. I wanted contacts - first time user. I have been seen 3 times at my convenience since my initial appointment to change out the contacts to find the right ones for me. My back up glasses were done within days and they fit well and the prescription is accurate. I'll wait to give it 5 stars until I'm settled in my contacts but to date the service has been 5 star. The doctors and staff are very friendly and helpful! I have seen both Dr. Nguyen and another (male) Dr whose name escapes me (sorry) and found both to be professional informative and helpful. I would definitely recommend this Myeyedr and will return here myself. read more
