I was recommended by a rehabilitation specialist to go here to have my eyes checked for focus…read moreissues and any other problems that might be occurring, due to a car accident that left me with some serious injuries. The first day I went they were training two new people, which I understand can be a problem, but it was like nobody knew what was going on. The doctor determined I had some focus issues and needed bifocals and new contacts, but he wanted the first pair to be a differential pair which I heard him saw at least 6 times. Well fast forward a few weeks still hadn't heard anything, so I call and the ladies in the office said I didn't order contacts and the my glasses were taking so long cause they got lost in the mix. Finally, more than 2 months after I ordered them I got them, after waiting more than and hour to see the eye doctor for my second appointment and I was the first patient of the day. Their customer service skills and how they deal with patients definitely need to be better.

Anyways, I was able to get into seeing Dr. Amy Iddins within a few days. The scheduling was incredibly easy and direct. All of this was very important to me- I've had emergency eye surgery for a rare glaucoma and I don't take lightly who I see for my eyes! The office staff were incredibly friendly and a pleasure to see! The technology they've invested in is fantastic. The Dr. was excellent! She listened, gave great advise (saving me from future trauma even), and then went above and beyond to order me trial contact lenses- What I absolutely loved was not only that the service and care was wonderful, but I got those trials in exactly a week and all I needed to do was swing by and pick them up. I'm very happy I moved to see Dr. Iddin and her team. You will be too!!

I walked in without an appointment and was greeted with great customer service, and the fast, knowledgeable assistance. I was in and out within 30 minutes, with clear expectations of when to expect my glasses I was also able to call back in the office to have a team member help update an invoice for me so I could submit to my FSA - this was done over the phone, and she immediately offered solutions instead of excuses.

My vision is not any better. In fact, I need readers now, whereas I didn't need them prior to surgery. My distance vision is a little better. I now have floaters. I just received a bill from him for a follow up visit. He's the one who said I needed to come back. In my opinion, that's part of my surgery follow up. Dr. Wild spent the visit trying to sell me glasses. I told him numerous times my goal was NO GLASSES! I didn't get the results I was expecting and am very disappointed. He might be fine for glasses but I'm sorry I used him for the surgery. He and his staff are nice.

The prescription was not the same as my sample lenses. Because the lenses were purchased at Costco and one used before, I realized what was wrong, I was stuck with $200 of contacts I could not wear. They asked me if I would like a re-exam and I refused, what good is it going to a Dr. who already screwed up. Temple was kind and understanding but limited on what she could do. I received a questionnaire from the corporate office and filled it out with the facts (as above) It stated they would like to talk further and asked if it was ok to call. Of course. That call got action. Temple, who had already been so caring called and explained who the new Dr. was. What he would do before selling contacts and they offered a free eye exam. I agreed, with some hesitation and embarrassment. It was not necessary as they were welcoming, and the new eye Dr. spent about 45 minutes making sure the new contacts would fit. He even recognized I did not want daily wear contacts and gave me a test pair that were really comfortable. As fate would have it my husband hit my hand when I was placing a contact in my eye, and we have never found it. Upon calling, Temple, I was given a new pair and explained I didn't feel I was reading menus as well as I could. They included another contact to try, after talking with the Doctor. Contacts are now comfortable, and I am able to read a menu. I am going back again. Great difference with a doctor who knows what he is doing from one who does not.

Top reasons Dr. McLean & her office is my favorite: -Easy to schedule appointments online. The receptionist emails you to confirm and is flexible if you need to reschedule if conflicts arise (not like I know from experience, or anything...) -My wait time is almost nonexistent. I checked in, signed a consent form and hadn't even sat down and Dr. McLean whisked me away for my eye exam. -Dr. McLean is so kind, but more importantly, knows her stuff. She performs the most thorough and efficient eye exam I've ever had. We're talking in and out in 35 minutes on my lunch break. She makes sure to ask if you have any questions or concerns you want to talk about. Her soothing voice helps me concentrate on keeping my peepers open when she's shining a bright light in them. -The receptionist noticed my sunglasses were stretched out from wearing them on top of my head (apparently a bad habit) and offered to tighten them for me while I was checking out. Shay, who was working at the counter, mentioned he was the new manager in conversation and that he wanted to help me today and earn my future glasses business. He was patient and adjusted them several times until they were exactly how I wanted them. I'll definitely be going back to this store, especially since he told me I can use my Macy's card!! I had a really positive eye exam here a week ago after being years overdue for an eye exam. I tend…read moreto drag my feet on the self care/health department (no hair cut in over a year...anyone?) but I had heard great things about Invista Optical from a friend and it didn't hurt that they're conveniently located one mile from my house. I was able to easily schedule my appointment over the phone after a few rounds of phone tag and found a lovely appointment at the end of the day on a Friday to make for easy work scheduling. All three of the staff I encountered were professional and answered my questions about COVID safety precautions and cleaning processes. They also took my temperature upon entry. This particular visit was just for an eye exam but it's worth noting that they have a fun lineup of prescription (and non) sunglasses and glasses. Invista Optical is conveniently located a little over a block from the Cultural Trail and Mass Ave action making it especially handy for downtown dwellers and employees. Would recommend!
