I was able to easily schedule my appointment over the phone after a few rounds of phone tag and found a lovely appointment at the end of the day on a Friday to make for easy work scheduling. All three of the staff I encountered were professional and answered my questions about COVID safety precautions and cleaning processes. They also took my temperature upon entry. This particular visit was just for an eye exam but it's worth noting that they have a fun lineup of prescription (and non) sunglasses and glasses. Invista Optical is conveniently located a little over a block from the Cultural Trail and Mass Ave action making it especially handy for downtown dwellers and employees. Would recommend!

They had a huge selection of frames to choose from, so there were plenty of styles to browse. Nathaniel was especially amazing throughout the process. He was super friendly, patient, and helped make several modifications so I could find the perfect pair. I never felt rushed, and he really took the time to make sure everything felt right. They also had a bartender serving espresso martinis during the event, which was such a fun touch. I ended up having a chilled white wine and enjoyed it while trying on frames. It wasn't planned as I was just going to browse, but I did end up purchasing glasses, and honestly, I've never spent this much on a pair before or added so many personalizations, but it truly felt worth it. They carefully fit the glasses, made sure the lenses were correct, and sent me home with a cute bag, case, cleaning cloth, and lens spray that can be refilled anytime, which I thought was such a cool perk. Located on the first floor of the Saleforce Tower in the heart of Downtown Indy, Moody Eyes is an affordable destination for purchasing glasses with lots of great options to choose from. We've been coming here for many years now and much prefer it to Lens Crafters and the other pricey alternatives. Dr Moody himself is such a kind man with a great sense of humor and I dread the day he retires. I don't want to go anywhere else! After looking at some frames i was told that with my "you have amazing vision insurance", I would still be required to pay nearly $100 for just a pair of single prescrition glasses. I then asked for a cheaper alternative and was told that i wouldnt be saving much money by doing so. I was then reasured how good my insurance was and how good of a deal I was getting. After several minutes of being intimidated by who I assume is Mrs. Moody, I then calmly explained how I normally do not pay for frames at the place I had previously gone. She responded with a look and tone that I can only describe as "unnecessary" and asked "well why didn't you go there then'? She was not nice, she absolutely meant it to be rude. I then said that I would not be getting glasses today and that i just want to pay for my visit. "Ten Dollars" are the only words she says next and I quietly handed her my payment, asked for my prescription to which she says "well we aren't going to give you measurements", which i replied with silence. I then proceeded to leave while promising never to return. I have never been treated so poorly by someone at a doctors office. I want to believe that I took things out of context or the wrong way but body language and tone said everything. As if they are angry because I can not afford their overpriced Luxottica frames... I will take my "had to do a double take your insurance was so good" and go somewhere better.

Rude handling of our issue. Refusal to work with us to bill it correctly and refusal to even consider the possibility that they made an error, even with our verification of full coverage in place at the time of coverage. Paid extra for the wider field of vision and the field of vision is still so narrow that I can't turn my head in the slightest before everything goes out of focus. I have now gone somewhere else and much happier with the lenses. My guess is they have a cheap lens grinding machine that just does a terrible job at getting a prescription right.
