I have worked with South Valley Internet as one their partners and suppliers for over a year now…read moreprofessionally, and I am impressed by the level of personal care and service that they strive to give their customers and suppliers alike. I have worked with, and gotten to know, the owners of SVI over this past year very well as they worked to expand their network and provide faster speeds to their customers, and their focus always is on providing their customers with the best experience and best customer service which I admire. Even though as a sales rep who covers a lot of territory, I have worked closely with the team at SVI, and have been in their offices, and have seen how their entire staff is very friendly and responsive. I have also heard their staff answer customer service calls and their customer care is empathetic and professional. I do Yelp reviews mostly on restaurants. I have been a Yelp reviewer for many years now. When I am passionate about someplace I have been...good or bad...I want to share my experience. I come onto Yelp to look for recommendations myself, and feel I should do the same. In my experience, most people that complain (most...not all) might have had one bad meal, or looking for something to be comped if they complain, come onto Yelp and give a bad review hoping to get something for free. RARELY do you see happy customers come onto Yelp to take the time to share positive experiences, so yes...most technology companies will get the complainers coming onto Yelp to...complain. When was the last time YOU came onto Yelp to just talk about how good your TV or internet service was? So lets be real...most of the "other than 5 star" reviews here are mostly likely disgruntled customers who are looking for something free or had one bad experience. I personally would much rather give my business to a local business that cares about it's clients, than another big-box cable company where I am just another number. I am very particular about who I recommend, but I believe South Valley Internet is focused on providing the best customer experience, and the fastest internet speed for its customers, and is determined to provide the best customer satisfaction and loyal customers as possible. I highly recommend South Valley Internet.

They took over a well-oiled machine from Paxio and turned it into a fickle jalopy of internet…read moreservice. I never had this much downtime and maintenance from Paxio. The disruptions are frequent and too many times have made my home server unreachable while traveling. Most of the time the service resumes, but on occasion I've had to have a neighbor or relative enter my home and reset the connection for me. Super effing inconvenient! Also, there is no roadmap for connections faster than 1 Gigabit, even while even more worthless competitors like Xfinity and AT&T offer 2.5 and even 5 Gigabit. And lastly, they increased their rates a few months ago. They offered a discount if you paid for a year in advance, but offered no way to do that online. It wasn't until I contacted customer service, that they gave me the details of how to do so: by writing a physical check and sending it to a physical address, no ACH or Credit Card options (which are available to those who pay monthly). Like, I'm boomer AF, so I still have a few checks laying around, but who else in 2025 still has a checkbook? When it works, I'm grateful, but internet service is binary. I just need it to work. Always. And it doesn't. End of story.

Antenna Pros

I bought an antenna and installed it where my satellite dish had been. I chose a multi-directional antenna, thinking it would be enough. Needless to say, the reception was poor. I lived with it for two years, telling myself I was saving money, so who cares. But after getting frustrated yet again while trying to watch a football game and seeing the signal cut in and out, I decided it was time to improve things. I called Antenna Pro's and spoke with Arden, who explained that my antenna needed to be pointed in a specific direction. Unfortunately, based on where it was installed, that wasn't possible. I needed his help, so I set up an appointment for him to come take a look. I had always thought the antenna had to be outside for the best results. Arden suggested trying the attic, saying it would be the easiest solution. I wasn't convinced, there was no way an indoor antenna could pick up as many channels as one outside in the open. Boy, was I wrong. I agreed to let Arden set it up in the attic, and we had it running quickly. The difference was night and day compared to what I had before. We also used his antenna, pointed in the right direction, which was a much better solution than the multi-directional one I owned. I went from about 10 channels, many of them inconsistent depending on the time of day, to 151 channels, with about 90% coming in excellent to very good. I also noticed that my TV, which is fairly new and was bought around the time I switched to OTA, now delivers a much better picture for the OTA channels. The 4K quality practically jumps off the screen. Arden was great, professional, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend him if you're struggling with your OTA setup. He's knowledgeable and takes the right steps to solve problems.

I found Bay Area Tech Hero while searching for a network specialist to install Ethernet wired…read morebackhaul in our older (1950s-60s) home that had been renovated but still lacked proper networking. Since they seem to handle a lot of corporate-scale installations, I initially wondered if my project might be too small--but that concern disappeared pretty quickly. The team was already very familiar with Ubiquiti systems and was incredibly patient working with me despite my fairly basic understanding. They walked me through the tradeoffs and ultimately recommended stepping up from mid-range equipment to more professional-grade options. The reasoning was clear, the cost/benefit made sense, and at no point did I feel pressured--just well-advised. The actual Ethernet installation work was top-notch--smurf tubing, recessed (not sticking out!) enclosures, and everything. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is honestly beyond what I would normally expect (or even feel comfortable demanding from contractors). They went above and beyond without being asked, and the cable organization is immaculate. Huge thanks to Justin and John for their precision and quality of work, and to Jim and Rodrigo for their thoughtful recommendations on equipment and access point placement. If you're looking for a team that combines technical expertise with professionalism and genuine care, I'd absolutely recommend them.

The quote we received for 3x cable runs was 400% more than the team we hired, and that team said their pricing was "average pricing." If you can afford to shop around and the timing of your project allows, we highly suggest shopping around!
