However, because there are several large hotel/motel facilities on the same node which include many private residences and numerous businesses, the download/upload speeds are worse than the old v90 dial-up speeds used to be. I just checked the internet speeds here on toast.net, speedtest.net, dslreports.com, and charter's own speed test. All of the results were virtually identical with download speeds of 212 kb (!!!) and upload speeds of 975 kb. This is a far, far cry from the contracted-for 30 MB speeds that Charter advertises and charges for. In the past 10-days, Charter techs have been to this facility AT LEAST 3 different times. They have verified that all of the equipment here at the hotel is more than adequate and working properly and claim that their speeds are fine (as they said with a smirk). One of the technicians admitted to me that there were too many people on the same node using up all of the bandwidth and described the problem as having 50 people on the same street all trying to use the same garden hose at the same time so that each house only gets dribbles of water instead of a full stream of water. Charter's internet service is so bad that I have been unable to send out even basic emails for work so I have recommended that the Best Western management file suit against Charter Communications and I have contacted my lawyer to proceed with "restraint of trade" litigation against Charter since their contracted service is preventing me from performing my employment and depriving me of income while at the same time forcing me to use Office Max and Staples in Gilroy (15-miles away) to send emails, faxes, and download construction designs. I would strongly recommend that everyone use another internet provider other than Charter Communication!

I fully expected to pay some kind of a penalty fee and I led with honesty about it. Miriam immediately reassured me that there would be no fees collected since I was upgrading. While we were handling the equipment return, we discussed my internet plan. I wanted to see if 2-gigabit speeds were available in my area. They weren't, go figure. But Miriam offered me something completely unexpected. She found a promotional deal that upgraded me from my $90, 500 mbps plan to 1-gigabit service that normally costs $115 a month and reduced it to just $70 a month for a full year! She also let me know that I can stop by the store anytime to ask about current promotions and see if I can get even this one extended. I had no idea I could do this. I've already told my local friends. Needless to say, I was taken aback, in a good way, knowing I get double the speed at $20 less than I was paying for a year. Amazing! It's also worth noting that the Spectrum location is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. The location is also super clean. It was hot outside and with the AC on, it made for a more comfortable experience.

The worst part is, management has seen the reviews on this store for months based off of other reviews and still haven't changed a thing.

In June the employees here told us to call spectrum first and then come back for replacement. We did that. Even had call identification numbers. We're told by some trim customer support to return to on site and swap a new phone out. My mom drove over an hour to get to this site. They sent her off to Apple. She drove to Apple Los Gatos where she was gicen a lot of support. Apple ( not these lazy guys here ) took her information , called spectrum while my mom was there. No less than 3 agents at spectrum then went through same exercise and confirmed to mom that spectrum was responsible for the device exchange not Apple. Next day I drove over to this site thinking now with 2 confirmed call identifications this issue would be resolved. The folks at the desk were dissapearing in and out of back room. Not one of them bothered to log our account in to verify the information. They just did not bother. Then one young woman with sour face went inside. Out comes a guy named garvin with a scowl and threatening me not to return to that location. I took myself to a corner and started up spectrum chat support WHILE INSIDE A SPECTRUM LOCATION. the chat person confirmed to me that the SITE OF PURCHASE of that device needed to swap out the phone. The employees -especially garvin struck me as fraudsters. Would not even open their computers to get into my account. Zero professionalism. Zero courtesy. Literally the next day I had all my lines transferred to Verizon. I have bern with Verizon since 2009. Except for last 2 years which were with spectrum. My experiences with spectrum have only been with this site. They are horrible lazy unprofessional with no values. Worst still are fear based defensive and frankly hostile to their customers. Unless you know or are personally related to the people there , you are better off going to an honest service provider. This site is comitting fraud.
