I came here based on other reviews and I wasn't disappointed! I took one star off because I got a gel manicure and it chipped within a week. However, they have a sign that suggests they'll fix it for free if it does within a week. Unfortunately, I was only in town for a few days so I didn't get a chance to come back and get it fixed. That said, I went in on a Sunday and called about 5 minutes before I got there just to check that they had availability and I was able to walk in and sit down immediately. They also were nice and patient when I wanted to pick out a different color for my ring finger (had to represent Cubbie blue and white while in Wrigleyville!). The manicure itself didn't take too long and they did a thorough job and so it was pretty much the best of all worlds. Can't believe I forgot to review this place. My bad! I've been coming to this location for a few months now and absolutely love it. As soon as you walk in and select your color you are asked if you want anything to drink. They have a tiny fridge with bottled water, soda, teas and juice. If you are getting a pedi the next step is to select your fragrance tablet. lavender, peppermint or green apple. I always choose peppermint...so invigorating! Now you sit back in your massaging chair and just relax while they do all the work. They finish off your pedi with a happy ending. Get your minds out of the gutters folks...I'm talking a calf and foot massage that could possibly put my husband to shame...he's a massage therapist. Manicure is next and they have a cute little shell for you to put all your rings and bracelets in while you are getting your mani and yep...the best arm, wrist and hand massage. I feel like jelly when I leave this place. The staff is so sweet and I love the owner. She is very hands on and always checks up to see how everyone is doing and to see if you need anything. Color choices are a plenty. They have everything from the modest and demure pinks to the rocked out inky blues and Gothic blacks. Here's a tip...Wednesday is the $35 mani and pedi special. Despite its slightly odd name, this place gave a wonderful mani/pedi. The nail artist (proper terminology??) I had showed great attention to detail and did a fantastic job. When she messed up a toenail, she apologized, though it wasn't a big deal since I mess up mani/pedis all day err day. The environment is comfy and very clean. Ever have an experience at a local business and believe Ashton K. was going to come out of a corner with a ton of cameras because the only logical explanation for the bizarre experience you're having is that you're being Punk'd? Well, I did. A MUST READ!! So ladies, if you workout hard, run, and/or perform strenuous athletic activities like I do, you know you're going to end up with ingrown nails, calluses, and corns from time-to-time. When I walked in, I told the check-in attended I was there for my appointment. I told her I had a really painful ingrown nail that would need to be removed asap by someone who knows how to do so. She guided me to a woman named "So-Pee", not really sure how it's spelled but it's like Sophie without the "fee" sound. Anyways, my appointment was for a Mani/Pedi. I was taken to the pedicure chair first which seemed dirty and unhygienic. Gross. The water she prepared for me was lukewarm, not even a sliver of comforting hot, bubbling water to make you feel relaxed, in fact...no bubbles @ all. The pedicure was done in a blink of an eye. She was so eager to get done and in such a rush that it literally took 20 minutes from start to finish; I timed it. I told SoPee as well about my ingrown. She merely picked at it a bit with her device and said that was that. I asked, "are you sure it's gone?" She said "oh yeah!" And rolled her eyes at me with a huge attitude!! Wtf?? She then "scrubbed" my feet with a pumice stone for a total of 20 second on each foot. Please, people, look @ my pics. She didn't do a thing, no dead skin was removed, nothing. It was like she was rubbing my feet for second with a rock instead of actually scrubbing. My 10 year old cousin could do better than SoPee. After I was done, I was taken over to the manicure chair. The little tray with rocks was so dirty that the water was a weird, cloudy color. The manicure took 15 minutes, and just like the pedicure, was done so poorly and with zero efforts. I had brought my OWN POLISH and she refused to paint all the way back to the cuticle (salons do this so that you could go back sooner). I asked her to do that and she refused, still. My nails looked like they were painted by a child, no joke. At the end of it all, I just wanted to GTFO of there ASAP. I was drying my nails when the owner came up to me and asked me how I heard about them. I told her it was through a Yelp Elite event I attended where they were giving out gift certificates so I wanted to take advantage and try them out in-store. After telling her that...the owner, not once, asked me how my services were. If she had, I would've gladly had diarrhea of the mouth and told her what a lousy nail tech she has on her staff. Even though my pedicure was discounted, I wouldn't go back to this place even if it was free! I came home and had to scrub my own feet and take out the ingrown nail myself. My favorite part of my mynail.com experience was when I opened that door and left that establishment. It was definitely busy and I wasn't even expecting to get in---15 mins later my cracked out tootsies were soaking in the warm whirlpool. I had one person start my pedicure and another person finished my pedicure and did my manicure. Both were very meticulous and I must say my crazy feet and hands feel and look much better. Decent color selection and there were a variety of upgrades that could have been done but just opted for the regular since I had to be somewhere after after. I was offered a shoulder massage while my nails were drying and that was quite lovely. Since I didn't plan well---I didn't have opened toe shoes---so they plopped on some little plastic baggies over my toes and then I was off on my way---nice little detail touch---that saved my pedi from getting jacked! I also think the crystal chandeliers add a perfect touch of whimsical elegance. The team here really thinks of every little thing for your comfort, from offering a beverage upon arrival, right down to the warm towels they wrap around your arms and calves after massages. Most nail salons will give you a bit of a massage, but these folk really go all out on this step. Don't forget to ask about their frequent client card, which enables clients to earn 5% back on all purchases. The 5% back is a flexible store credit that is simply loaded on the card. 3.5 stars....but...whatevs. So I used my trusty booking site PrettyQuick (check out my blog link for $$$ off) for a no chip mani and regular pedi heren because I was in the area running errands and its super easy to book online and on the go! BONUS!! The guy at the front is SUPA customer service man. I dont know why, I really liked him. Seemed to really get it...I just wished I had a better nail experience. The staff...well, they were OK. The pedi was pretty average. The no chip mani was ok as well. I wish she would have done a better job with the shaping and cleaning up my nails. Needless to say, the offer free fixes of the no chip if its within a week. Three of my nails chipped. I went back today to get it fixed and two of the three have already chipped...7 hours after getting them fixed. She did a poor job putting the polish back on and while its a nice concept...I just dont think its great to get a few nails polished. UGH! Decided to go again since Juko wasn't available and I am so upset. I have very long nails and the woman seemed to not care to keep them that way. I asked for a polish change and told her I just wanted them filed and kept at the same length. All of a sudden I saw tons of nail dust flying everywhere and she filed and filed and filed some more. THEN, I noticed my middle finger had a nail in the shape of a guillotine. You know that blade that chops your head off if you've committed a crime. SUPER CROOKED! I got french tips on both hands and feet and both look fantastic. My cuticles look great and the nail polish COMPLETELY COVERS MY NAILS (a problem that I often have with other salons, it's very frustrating). I've only gotten my nails done a few times in the Chicago area and am normally disappointed at the value and quality. For $40, this is the best I've had in Chicago and the nail job was much better than my typical NYC salon. - Love the peppermint pedi and the scrub. - Love the massage chair - I like STRONG massages and I really want one of these chairs for home! 0.5 stars down for the technician turning off my chair vs toning it down during nail painting. - The manicure job was meticulous. They have multiple types of cuticle oil and use a brush to fully prep the surface. - Another 0.5 stars down for the massages, although the short leg, hand, and back massage is included, c'mon... use a little more force. read more

This used to be one of my go-to spots for a no-chip manicure. But they recently got new UV drying machines, and since then the manicures haven't been structurally sound. The machines work quite differently; they blink and don't shine as much continuous light, and I think they aren't fully drying each layer of polish. As a result, the manicure peels off in a couple of days. Yes, they'll fix it for free, but the manicurist gives you lots of attitude about it and the "fix" peels off, too. read more

Tl;dr- I came in for a lip wax tonight and left with a scab. Salon refused to admit anything was wrong: I've been getting my lip waxed for 15 or so years and am fairly familiar and comfortable with the process. In this case, the tech started with what felt like cold wax and applied it in small patches before ripping it off. Toward the end I felt there was a patch she was about to reapply wax to and said that, with my skin, waxing the same place twice would rip off skin. She assured me she missed it with wax the first time and I let her continue. She then applied the stuff that removes excess wax, followed by cooling gel. The gel immediately burned on the portion wax was reapplied to and I ran to the bathroom to wash it off. On close examination in the mirror, I have a portion of missing skin, remaining hairs all over the place and a bunch of wax left over. I went to the counter, let them know what had happened and the tech kept assuring me it was just irritation. I pointed the the irritated part, compared it to the part missing skin, she still said she didnt see it. The woman that runs the salon, who I've dealt with many times and always seemed sweet, disappeared for this and left her employee to deal with me. The girl who did my no chip was nice but I only went here after a client of my own recommended it. Maybe I just saw a newbie? I don't know. I wanted that chrome polish look which was $10 extra, making this already $40 no chip much pricier than where I always go. My regular nail tech was too busy to fit me in but I was in dire need. My bad- shouldn't have gone here, cuticles not properly trimmed, chrome part of the polish already chipping and showing the base color- the day of the service- and polish on my cuticles that I later had to file off. I'm only giving two stars because of the nice staff and pleasant ambience.
