2nd time at this salon and they do an excellent job. My nails looked beautiful both time and the laquer polish lasted 2 weeks. Love this salon, I'll definitely be going back!

I asked a stranger where they got their nails done because they were so perfect, and they shared this place. I gave it a try and let's just say I will continue to come here!

It hasn't been a week .. I got my nails done on 10/13/22 and I payed $120 for both fake nails no chip and pedicure no chip. And this is what happens a week after ... smh will not go back here again. Staff was rude too when doing my nails. I hope I can get my money back for the nails bc this is ridiculous... and I payed so much too. What a waste of my time.

I was in town and badly needed a manicure so I stopped in between appointments on a Tuesday afternoon. There was no wait. A basic manicure was $17. I believe the website says $15...either their prices changed or they charged me $2 for the exfoliation scrub. My hands feel very soft after the scrub and the manicure is flawless.

I was treated horribly when I walked in, My no chip was 40 dollars the older woman that's running this place seems very money-hungry. I would have come back every week but the skin on my fingers started peeling back 6 days later, I came back on the 7th day & she still charged me 10 dollars to take off the no chip that I paid 47 dollars

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. It was beyond overpriced, for a service (dip) they are not good at. The dip chipped after 4 days, I was told to come in for a refund. When requesting the refund they said they could not and tried to do a new service (no chip). They were extremely rude and unprofessional. They also do 2 people at once and bounce back and forth between customers. Horrible horrible experience, do not recommend

I came here once before and had a great experience, my no chip lasted for 3 weeks! This time around I got a no chip and it started to peel within 2 days. I got my nails done for a destination wedding where I'm in the bridal party. So now I'll have to be rushed to get my nails done before my flight leaves tomorrow. Frustrated and disappointed.

Still on the salon and see this after my "pedicure" done by SoPee.

Ever have an experience at a local business and believe Ashton K. was going to come out of a corner with a ton of cameras because the only logical explanation for the bizarre experience you're having is that you're being Punk'd? Well, I did. A MUST READ!! So ladies, if you workout hard, run, and/or perform strenuous athletic activities like I do, you know you're going to end up with ingrown nails, calluses, and corns from time-to-time. When I walked in, I told the check-in attended I was there for my appointment. I told her I had a really painful ingrown nail that would need to be removed asap by someone who knows how to do so. She guided me to a woman named "So-Pee", not really sure how it's spelled but it's like Sophie without the "fee" sound. Anyways, my appointment was for a Mani/Pedi. I was taken to the pedicure chair first which seemed dirty and unhygienic. Gross. The water she prepared for me was lukewarm, not even a sliver of comforting hot, bubbling water to make you feel relaxed, in fact...no bubbles @ all. The pedicure was done in a blink of an eye. She was so eager to get done and in such a rush that it literally took 20 minutes from start to finish; I timed it. I told SoPee as well about my ingrown. She merely picked at it a bit with her device and said that was that. I asked, "are you sure it's gone?" She said "oh yeah!" And rolled her eyes at me with a huge attitude!! Wtf?? She then "scrubbed" my feet with a pumice stone for a total of 20 second on each foot. Please, people, look @ my pics. She didn't do a thing, no dead skin was removed, nothing. It was like she was rubbing my feet for second with a rock instead of actually scrubbing. My 10 year old cousin could do better than SoPee. After I was done, I was taken over to the manicure chair. The little tray with rocks was so dirty that the water was a weird, cloudy color. The manicure took 15 minutes, and just like the pedicure, was done so poorly and with zero efforts. I had brought my OWN POLISH and she refused to paint all the way back to the cuticle (salons do this so that you could go back sooner). I asked her to do that and she refused, still. My nails looked like they were painted by a child, no joke. At the end of it all, I just wanted to GTFO of there ASAP. I was drying my nails when the owner came up to me and asked me how I heard about them. I told her it was through a Yelp Elite event I attended where they were giving out gift certificates so I wanted to take advantage and try them out in-store. After telling her that...the owner, not once, asked me how my services were. If she had, I would've gladly had diarrhea of the mouth and told her what a lousy nail tech she has on her staff. Even though my pedicure was discounted, I wouldn't go back to this place even if it was free! I came home and had to scrub my own feet and take out the ingrown nail myself. My favorite part of my mynail.com experience was when I opened that door and left that establishment. Ashton K., I still have faith you were hiding in there somewhere for that hour I was succumbed to this place. Awful, just awful.

Mani-Pedi for $40, includes more client pampering than most nail salons. Excellent results. Money well spent.

A shoulder massage while my nails dry? I don't mind if you do. And thank you. These people are professional, courteous and talented. The salon is clean and tastefully decorated with bold drenching of orange and red with splashes of bright yellow. Some might say these colors are not "calming". But who cares? I think it's beautiful! I also think the crystal chandeliers add a perfect touch of whimsical elegance. The team here really thinks of every little thing for your comfort, from offering a beverage upon arrival, right down to the warm towels they wrap around your arms and calves after massages. Most nail salons will give you a bit of a massage, but these folk really go all out on this step. Don't forget to ask about their frequent client card, which enables clients to earn 5% back on all purchases. The 5% back is a flexible store credit that is simply loaded on the card. I say "flexible" because the store credit can be used at any time, no matter how much or how little you have accumulated.

I did not experience any form of pressure or discomfort at any time. The atmosphere of the salon is very relaxed and it makes spending time there very easy. I got out a satisfied person about my nails and the whole experience was excellent. I will definitely be coming back! I've been coming to Sapphire Halsted for many years and when I say I love everything about this place, I mean it. I love the bright space filled with art, fun music videos and chill vibes. The talent is unmatched. The techs keep the convo flowing when I'm feeling chatty, and don't press me when I just want to zone out. That's big for me. I've never had a bad mani, but IMO, Gala is the best. She meticulously removes every last shred of cuticle (and not in a way that hurts or makes my nail beds angry and red) and applies polish with such care. You can tell the owner takes great pride in his business because of the effort that he puts in to hiring great people and keeping the place looking nice. I always leave feeling relaxed and my nails looking amazing. I've never had a bad experience here and I look forward to visiting Black Onyx for years to come!

For the pedicure.: the nail part was cute however the bottom and the side of my feet looked the same as I came. Thank goodness we live in a city with options!

I've found my new nail place. And actually, I didn't even realize I needed a new nail place…read more I'm in the process of trying to beautify and pamper myself in the days before I give birth, and getting a manicure and pedicure was on my list of desired treatments. I haven't had a mani pedi since at least October 2019, if not further back than that. They haven't been my #1 priority for pampering (that's a facial), but it do enjoy it. I learned about Dazzle Dry polish in the last year or so and have been curious to try it ever since, but it appears that there's only a few salons in the city that use it and so that's what led me to Spa Avenue. When I got there the woman who worked on me was ready to start immediately; it just took me a few minutes to choose my color. I suppose it was a fairly standard manicure/pedicure, but still I appreciated her attention to detail and she had a great touch--not too rough or anything. My hands and feet feel so nice and soft now. My hands had been really dry lately but they feel soft and supple a day later. Dazzle Dry is fantastic, so between that and the good service I experienced here that will keep me coming back. I usually don't get color on my fingernails when I get a pedicure, I just get them buffed because if they aren't chipped by the time I leave the salon, they are by the end of that same evening. Over 24 hours later, there's not a chip to be seen on my nails currently. It's supposed to last something like 7-10 days and I believe it. It's also great because unlike no-chip, it doesn't have to cure or anything and you can remove it with regular acetone nail polish remover I think. I didn't realize how excited I would be to be able to wear nail color on my fingernails again, or how much I love the look of it! I'm not kidding when I say I gave up on nail polish well over a decade ago and haven't worn it since, and now I can't wait to return and try other colors. I wish I had gotten the name of the nail tech who worked on me today because she was excellent and I'd love to request her specifically next time. But all the folks here seem to know what they're doing so I would expect to have a good experience with anyone.
