I came in My Free Kitchen on a recent trip to Paris, after struggling to find a gluten free meal which wasn't just meat, Paris is a city witch prides its-self and is known for its gluten filled pastries, baguettes and croissants, which also contain dairy and lactose too, this is why My Free Kitchen is different, which sadly isn't "Free" as suggested in the name, but is more free from both gluten and lactose.
Upon arriving, I was really dissapointed with the layout of the place, being more like a cafe, than a restaurant and it certainly didn't seem the nicest place to eat, especially with only one member of staff working and a kitchen area at the back which didn't look to nice.
The menu was pretty basic, and was something probably a child could design, also there was a lack of drinks other than a smoothie, which just tasted far too thick and horrible, and certainly not fresh, as I could tell by an expiry date which was around 2 years of the date I got it, meaning it could have been served 2 years later, so i'd hate to think how old it was, especially due to the taste.
There also was no new glasses either, it was just for the ones that came in the table, with the complimentary water, which didn't look too fresh either, so I didn't want to touch that either.
The Pizza was more of a Pizza of the day, so this wasn't on the menu either and there was only one topping, one gluten and dairy free, and the other both gluten and dairy free and vegan as well, I opted for the non-vegan option which included ham, yet sadly goats cheese, which didn't taste very nice on a pizza, I would have liked to see a normal cheese option, as this just didn't taste right on a pizza.
The pricing was quite high too at 15 euros, and the place did seem busy, but the service was very slow as I even had to wait to ask questions about the menu and get a seat out of the small range to tome from, as there was only one member of staff who kept going in and out.
The pizza just tasted poor and cheap as well.
Sadly, this is more of a hotspot, taxing heavily those who are gluten free, and instead of making this a place to be proud of for those who need gluten and dairy free food in what is like a mecca for wheat and dairy lovers, with wide selections of pastries, baguettes and cheeses, this place sadly is too basic yet still charges high-end places for poor food, with decor which was basic and made it not a very nice place to be, and a menu which honestly looked like it could have been designed by a 5 year old, so I feel this place deserves a place on my "Places not to go list" because it has deemed such a terrible standard, which I'm sad to report. read more
