She took her time to help me out and give me her advice on at least 15 pairs of glasses that I tried on, always giving me her honest and friendly opinion. I ended up on settling on two pairs which I ordered and can't wait to receive in about a week or so. I cannot see as my current glasses are not fixable. She took the time to check to see if they had any contacts that I could use until I receive my glasses. This was my second visit to this Stanton Optical location, and unfortunately it was another negative experience due to poor front-desk customer service. I had a scheduled appointment from 6:00-6:15 PM. When I arrived, the front desk worker, Victoria, told me the doctor "doesn't take appointments at 6," but then told me to have a seat and wait. I did exactly that. Another staff member later came from the back and said the doctor was leaving. I asked why my appointment was not canceled if the doctor wasn't available. That staff member went to speak with Victoria and then returned. At that point, Victoria yelled that the doctor was already gone for the day. What made this situation even more frustrating is that neither staff member went back to speak with the doctor to see if the issue could be resolved, especially considering this was a scheduled appointment, not a walk-in. Instead, I was given conflicting information, asked to wait unnecessarily, and then spoken to in a raised and dismissive manner. To make matters worse, Victoria later denied ever telling me to wait and gave me attitude, stating that they were closing at 6:30 anyway despite my appointment being booked for 6:00 PM. This experience was unprofessional, disrespectful of my time, and poorly handled. Appointments should be honored or canceled in advance, and customers should not be yelled at or misled when errors occur. read more

This review is more of a reminder for Stanton Optical to revise their scheduling practices and as a heads up for future customers. I scheduled an appointment for my 2 kids several weeks ago and provided their ages, insurance, and eye status (one wears prescription eye glasses, one does not) at that time. When I arrived to my appointment, I was recommended to go to a location where there was an optometrist on site because they only operate through TeleMed and my son has a prescription. I understand that Stanton Optical uses a call center for scheduling, however, if the customers information is already provided, they have the capacity to direct the customer to a different location with an optometrist or not at all. This experience was a complete waste of my time and now my kids cannot be seen until August . . . of course at a completely different optical company. read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. Lack of communication, staff is not trained well. Took in frames to get POLARIZED or TRANSITIONAL lenses. First two times they were not done correctly NOT to mention the prescription wasn't even done correctly so couldn't see out of them. After the 3rd visit I requested a refund AND THEN THE FRONT DESK STAFF finally said they could GUARANTEE us the polarized or transitional lenses. Left the frames AND called to check on them and the assistant manager said they couldn't get done. So now I get a refund but frames without my original lenses. The worst place definitely don't recommend them. Oh and they've already taken payments from me but the product wasn't even done. MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE. read more

I visited Stanton Optical in Forney, TX on Sunday, January 7, 2024. One of the arms from my glasses frame had broken off and I sought to buy a new pair of the same frames. Luckily they did have the identical frames in stock. Adrian was the person who assisted me and she was very sympathetic and helpful! As I had bought the original frames with my insurance at that same Forney location, they were able to replace the frames at no charge, and put my old lenses into the new frames, within just a short period of time. I was very satisfied and pleased to be treated as their VIP customer! Of course I will be returning to that location in the future. I went in today for an eye exam for both glasses and contact. The DR was great at explaining what was being done & about what would be better for my money (out of pocket). However that is not the reason I gave 5 stars. I went in with my baby, and all of a sudden he got cranky and was being loud and difficult. The DR was patient & even carried him during my exam. The techs also came in and started to play with him and walk around the store with him so I could finish the exam without distractions. As a mother, sometimes we have no choice but to bring our babies with us to things like this. My sitter cancelled on me last minute and I was so afraid to bring him. They were all so kind and sweet to my baby boy. For this very reason, I will continue to return to this specific location. The hospitality was unmatched to anywhere else I have been. Dr. Tarrant is amazing! The office itself has terrible service. They charge for everything separate. I got contacts and they were going to charge me $700 bc the ones they chose my insurance didn't cover. Why would you only choose ones not covered. When I refused those they then called back to tell me they had the same ones a different brand that my insurance covered. 1 year later still had a great visit with Dr. Tarrant, but I have to change doctors. Walking in the day of the exam we were skeptical about not having an optometrist present but I thought, "technology". I convinced my elderly mother and took a chance with the "online/video" exam and we left with the prescription My Eyelab gave my mother. I am not an expert, as I do not have an optometrist degree, so I trusted that I was given the correct prescription. When attempting to purchase eye glasses I was unable to do so due to an error in the prescription. I called the store in hopes of someone that can help with the issue regarding the prescription. The customer service phone number provided auto-forwarded me from customer service to corporate. I assumed they would have us come in and explain or schedule my mother for a check in. Instead, after waiting hours, corporate informed me someone would call me back. This did not happen. I decided to visit another optometrist. Boom! They answered all my questions and gave me a prescription that was different than My Eyelab provided. You would think they would be at least similar!! With this proof I called customer service/corporate again. Once again had to wait hours. Finally once I was able to get someone on the line they told me the optometrist I went to is a franchise and they couldn't do anything. This means that this store has no customer service!! After some time talking with corporate they finally connected me to the regional manager for this franchise. All he said was that I signed a waiver and they will not return my mother's money. For an error on THEIR part! If you wear corrective lenses you know how critical it is to have the right prescription. I believe in giving businesses second chances especially when choosing services that are local. I am beyond frustrated with the customer service at this store and corporate. My mother spent $45 for a an eye exam at My Eyelab. $65 at the new place. This is completely unacceptable. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted. Please choose wisely and read reviews before scheduling. Don't make my mistake. read more

Veterans Avoid No Integrity at this location. If you have Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield...AVOID! Go to Vision Works with NO OUT of Pocket Cost or CoPays for eye exam and glasses. I want to try an optical provider within the Forney area. Wish i had read the reviews and low ratings ! Any place that has to call the district manager for approval to give the customer a receipt of services / items purchases ie breakdown of cost is questionable. Its a Hybrid exam which was interesting but when I asked if the man providing the eye exam is a real optometrist on the screen (tv) I was told no its just a technician. I thought so because I didnt see any name or credentials on the lab jacket but He looked very professional. This place is a commercial business and I didnt really feel confident so I paid for my exam which was more than the said and written price on the original form because the sales lady says that we are not authorized to provide a copy i asked if I could take a photo...still no after a 7min call to the district manager (sketchy) ....Next time I will go Vision Works with an actual optometrist. Even after the initial service of the eye test and getting glasses, they continue to give great service. Glasses got broke and we're still under warranty so I brought them in and they fixed them in about 8 minutes. No joke. Lisa was professional and fast. They have no clue what is going on or what they are doing ... I made my daughter an appointment on line filled out all the forms I get there for our appointment they do the whole test but then say o are bad we can't work on children under 8 . Flash forward my daughter is now 8 I call and make an appointment with a real person instead of online they ask me how old she is and I tell them 8 . Well when I show up for the appointment guess what now she has to be freaking 9 .. like seriously I'm starting to think the place is a scam they just like scheduling appointments so you waste peoples time ... read more

Had my daughter done her exam at this location! Everything was fine until we went to get her frames and lenses , we got them from somewhere else , since her insurance covered everything except the exam. So once we received the glasses, she was still having trouble seeing . I called to have a rechecked done , however the associate who helped me said she could it , however, she did it manually without a doctor, she confirmed that the doctor made a mistake and her prescription was wrong , she gave me a screen shot of the new prescription, I asked for a doctor signature since that is what the company where I got the glasses from will need . But she wanted to charge full price of the the exam to get a doctor signature. Why would I pay for someone else mistake ! The doctor made a mistake, they gave her the wrong prescription in the first place , the recheck should have been for free with a doctor signature . I called a different location who asked me to come in , they tried to pull up my daughter's information, but they stated that it seems that the Forney location deleted her information from the system. They were not able to find her in the system . Never coming here again. It's ridiculous, she even had the guts to say it will be $95 for them to change the prescription on her lenses if I wanted to. And to think that I referred other people here. Will advised them not to go! Worst experience I've ever had! read more

A month later, no one called,I had to just go up there to see if my glasses where there. I picked up one pair and was told that the other pair would be there in a few weeks. They do not honor the guarantee that is posted in store and apparently corporate only offers to step in to look good on a review. I trusted that the corporate office cared about their customers but it is evident that they care only about the money. I guess I will pursue another avenue at this point. Unfortunately, I have to rate the location when it's no fault of their own. Ordered glasses a month and a half ago and can't get ahold of anyone at eyelab customer service. Waited on hold for an hour. The order status option the website has changed from being ready in less then a week to delayed and there is no way to inquire about them since you get stuck on hold forever. read more
