My husband and I were both charged over $45 MORE than what our insurance Explanation of Benefits shows we should have owed for our co-insurance amounts. After reviewing the Explanation of Benefits from our insurance company, the numbers do not match what we were charged in office. We have repeatedly attempted to contact the Mesquite location to compare the billing and get clarification, but our calls have continuously been avoided and ignored. Patients trust businesses to bill honestly and ethically, especially when it comes to insurance claims and out-of-pocket costs. At this point, I believe other customers should carefully review their receipts and insurance EOBs to ensure they are not being overcharged as well. Because of the lack of transparency and refusal to address the issue, I am filing a formal complaint and pursuing this matter further with the appropriate agencies and my insurance provider.

Instead they took the 8:15 in front of me and it was still 8:25 before someone came to get me. Just had to order the lenses, and they didn't order them pre-cut to the frames I've had for years. I can't log in online because for some reason my information doesn't match, I did verify with the office. I went in and was told their cutting machine was out and a new one was coming in. It's been a week, I left 2 messages, no call backs. I guess I'll get my lenses this morning and drive them out to Forney and have them fitted there. I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.
