Relocated to Rockwall from Frisco, where I absolutely loved my EYECARE facility - Frisco Family EYECARE. My first thought was to keep my services at the Frisco location, but my husband and I decided to try Rockwall EYECARE. That was a big mistake. These folks are terrible. They overcharge you and try to make u pay for the extras ur insurance company covers. They tried to charge me $240 for two boxes of contacts and $368 for four boxes... when I have a $350 allowance towards contacts. I have all extra tests covered and my eye exam at 100%. I returned the unopened boxes of contacts. I took my prescription and went back to my old EYECARE location in Frisco. I paid $110 for four boxes of contacts and also received a contact lens vendor rebate. When you try to tell them you have had the same benefits for years and never paid that much, they get rude and show lack of customer service. They even tried to overcharge my husband for his contacts and also told him that the extra services were not covered... and we have the exact same insurance. The doctor was amazing. However, the front desk was not knowledgeable and rude. The management was even worse. I totally recommend shopping around... they are definitely overcharging customers. Just got off the phone with front desk to book 2 new patient appointments and the receptionist was cold and had poor phone etiquette. I told her politely that I am no longer interested in receiving services from Eyecare Rockwall due to her tone. I'm not upset or looking for anything, I just wanted to let you know so you are aware and hopefully train or correct the issue. I don't know her name but it is March 7th at 3:20pm. Originally, I planned to have new lenses made for a frame I already owned. I brought my prescription with me for this purpose. After Adam looked at two pairs of my glasses (one with a good frame but useless lenses and one with good lenses and a useless frame), he told me he could switch the good lenses to the good frame. That way, I did not have to buy new lenses. He did a perfect job and saved me a significant amount of money. On top of that, he did not charge me a penny for the time he spent working on my glasses. The doctors are amazing, however the staff is subpar when handling the details of insurance coverage. Due to my exam being filed incorrectly I no longer can use my insurance for eye glasses, even after paying out of pocket for the contacts. I am still waiting several months later for a referral to the specialist. I was not called once my contacts arrived, I had to follow up with them only to find out the contacts had been there several days ready for pickup. This is a very nice office but looks are deceiving. After having been a patient of this practice for several years, when I had a bona fide problem I found the staff unresponsive and uncaring. My eyes had become red, itching and watery for the third time. I called the office to get a refill on a prescription for eye drops that had previously cleared the problem. I was told the doctor would not be in for three days, and that no other doctor would take a call or be able to refill the prescription until Dr Lieu returned in three days. I guess I was supposed to risk serious injury to my eyes and wait for the doctor to come back in three days. Totally unacceptable. I will not go back to a practice that cares so little for their patients and urge you to consider a different practice. When you really need them they won't be there for you. read more

Nice staff but they didn't get me any relief on my eye sight , the guy told me when he sold me the glasses that if i didn't like them i had 30 days to return. 27 days later i went to return and they refunded me a fraction of what i paid. Dr. Cates and her team at Eyecare Rockwall are absolutely amazing!! My son has worn glasses for almost 4 years and now that he's in multiple contact sports, it was time we considered contacts. Dr. Cates and her optometric assistants were beyond patient in helping my son get over his fear of touching his eyes and encouraging him throughout this process. It was literally an eye-opening experience for my son once he had the contacts in!!! His smile was from ear to ear!! He looks so handsome in his glasses, but having experienced "life without glasses" provides a new found confidence in him I haven't seen!! Not to mention the safety aspect during contact sports. No more broken glasses due to sports or facial cuts/bruises due to the glasses getting knocked against his face! Eyecare Rockwall is a wonderful and compassionately run local business! Took my teenagers there for regular eye exams and service was great. My son was able to find a very good looking pair of glasses. My daughter wanted to try contacts for the first time and staff took their time in instructing her how to apply and care for contacts. They let us trial them to ensure she liked them and there was a good fit. She loves them now. I will be making an appt. for myself in the near future. We are Dr Vo and love her! They are still doing temp checks and requiring people to wear masks. We were greeted by a young gentleman who had such a great upbeat personality. I wish I caught his name but he was so nice! We got taken back before our appointment time and my son was there to try his new prescription of contacts. We got into the room which had a sign saying it was sanitized and settled in. Sooner than we expected, there was a knock on the door and Dr Vo walked in. She examined my son in a timely manner and was thorough. We were out of there in twenty five minutes, sweet! I have also purchased eyeglasses in the past from here and everyone is very nice working in the optical department. They are very patient with my picky son who must have tried on 50 pairs of glasses. I kept apologizing but they assured me it was fine. Their glasses are very pricey even with my insurance but I'm hoping they will last longer than the ones we got from much cheaper businesses. All in all a great visit which is why we will keep coming here for our exams. read more

My vote it to go elsewhere. The optical staff and optometrists are nice and helpful BUT the office staff is always unpleasant and not very helpful. My billing has been messed up twice and I finally got a credit over $100 and they wouldn't refund my money back to me for my overpayment! I could only get a credit even though I didn't really want to return. They don't seem to like their jobs at all. In addition if you need a pediatric vision test it can only be done on Thursdays which is super limiting. read more

My whole family has seen Dr. Holly Britt starting from my parents almost 20 years ago. Dr. Britt is the best! She's thorough, patient and works hard to ensure you are happy with your glasses or contacts. Today my daughter saw Dr. Cates and she was great as well. The optical department could not get the positioning of the prescription in my frame and as a consequence severely compromised the integrity of my 1-year old frames so much so that the right arm completely broke off! They refused to replace the frame THEY ruined! read more

Dr. Holly F.Britt, DO was the eye doctor that examined my eyes and prescribed single vision glasses for me. She was very thorough, friendly and courteous and listened to everything I had to say. Her employees were all very friendly, respectful and took care of all my needs. I was able to get my new eye glasses within one to two hours- same day! I will go back to them next year & would recommend everyone to go to Dr. Britt's office when needing glasses. read more

My eye exam was done in late January. The salesman, Eric, pressured me to buy the model they had in their limited stock, even though I requested a wider pair. Because of the faulty exam prescription, those did not work, and in fact I was hesitant to drive while wearing them. After several weeks of struggling and failing with various glasses and the given prescription, I requested a different optometrist but was told by the salesman that this was not possible. I flagged down the owner Holly Britt who graciously offered to do the re-examination herself. It was discovered upon reexamination that the first exam was inaccurate. I was told that their first, faulty exam was most likely due to my Lasik procedure, although this had never been an issue in 30 years, and in fact the doctor herself handed me a "A+" for eye health. The salesman said he would order wider frames, but by mid-April, I had waited two weeks with no word from him. I had had enough and had very little confidence in their methods or business model. I did not receive a refund on the eye exam. However, with the help and presence of my husband, I did receive a full refund on the frames. read more

A YEAR after my Son seeing Eye Dr, they all of the sudden show us with open balance, eventho when we had our appt this year, there was zero balance. The ONLY reason they told me I owe $133 from a year ago was because "I" called them to request info on getting my son fitted for contacts. I find it appalling & questionable that they claim I owe them money from a year ago (that I've never been billed for via mail, nor email), & now they can't refIle w/insurance because it's been over a yr (again, not MY fault). They blame issue on "previous employee" & later claimed it was due to them switching software. Those issues are NOT valid reason for such incompetence. These employees represent Dr Britts practice & the name of the business, not just individual employees. If Dr Britt wants to allow the employees to represent her practice as such, we will take our business elsewhere. Dr. Britt is very thorough and her entire staff carries a positive, helpful attitude toward the patient. I am shocked and appalled at the treatment we received today for my seven year old daughter's appointment. As an inter-racial couple, our daughter was denied service because we did not arrive 15 minutes before the appointment to fill out paperwork. This is odd for many reasons 1) my wife was not previously denied service or made to show 15 minutes for her appointment last week; 2) we had called because we were concerned that we were running late and the receptionist told us that we had a 15 minute grace period (we were 5 minutes late); and 3) after arriving the receptionist gave us the paperwork then five minutes later she came out into the reception area and told us that the doctor would not see us because we hadn't arrived 15 minutes prior to our appointment!!! Note this policy is not written anywhere on their website nor did my wife have to follow this policy nor were we told to arrive at 3:45. For the record the appointment was at 4:00 and they don't close until 5:30. Upon returning home we phoned for an explanation and were promptly hung up on. BUYER BEWARE of multiple follow up visits (at your expense of course) and diagnosis of serious eye infections. Here's my experience in detail: RUN don't walk away from this office!!! First of all, I don't think I have ever written a negative review of any business but I wouldn't recommend for anyone to go here. I went to this office with a red and irritated eye after sleeping in my contact lenses. I paid $95 and saw Dr. Parks. He said that he couldn't tell what it was yet but that time could be diagnostic so I should come back in two days to reevaluate my eyes (and pay $80 for another appointment.) Two days came and the morning of my appointment my eyes were no longer red or irritated and felt completely back to normal. I called to see if they would be able to change my appointment to a glasses/contact lens fitting and the receptionist said that they "should" be able to and she would tell Dr. Parks when he arrived that morning. I show up and they bring me back to the exam room and THEN tell me that they cannot do a glasses/contact fitting but they *must* look at my eyes because it could be something serious(even though they were no longer red, irritated or causing me any discomfort.) I'm already in the room with the doctor so it would be very awkward for me to walk out so I oblige. He looks at my eye for a long time and tells me that my eyes may feel better but they look much worse. Then he calls in Dr. Britt for a second opinion and she says that my eye is 100% herpetic and asks him why she even asked her to come in - that it's completely obvious that I have it (herpes simplex keratitis.) They talk back and forth in a dramatic manner and Dr. Britt leaves allowing Dr. Parks to tell me my options. He uses some scare tactics like telling me that HSK is the leading cause of blindness, writing it down on a card for me and telling me to google it to see what we're dealing with, etc. He told me I needed an antiviral medication that cost $300-$400 and that I needed to come in again after two days to monitor my eyes (at another $80 for the visit.) OR alternatively I could wait on the medicine and come in again (again at $80 for another visit) and we could reevaluate. Are you seeing a pattern here yet? The way they talked to me made me sick to my stomach. It felt like it was all a performance; it just didn't feel right. So, immediately upon leaving their office I called another optometrist and was able to drive to that office and get evaluated immediately. The new doctor tells me there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN MY EYES resembling HSK. Furthermore, NONE my symptoms(eyes irritated after sleeping in contacts, redness gone within a few days, no pain, no history of mouth cold sores, general good health, both eyes being red, no dendrites in my eye when stained, etc.) would lead to that diagnoses. Just to be sure I followed up AGAIN with an unrelated ophthalmologist at a different office. The third doctor also agreed that there was absolutely NOTHING in my eye resembling that viral infection nor did any of my symptoms line up with it. Both of the new, honest doctors said I required NO medication and NO follow up visits but they would happily see me again FREE of charge to monitor my eyes. I was also told that even if I did have HSK (though both doctors were adamant that I didn't) that since my eye was causing me absolutely no pain or discomfort that there would be NO reason for me to take the several hundred dollar medication he prescribed! To make matters worse, I'm a nursing mother (which, of course, I informed them of) and Dr. Parks prescribed a medication that was category C for pregnancy and breastfeeding and told me it was safe to take. Come to find out (from my pharmacist) there have been absolutely no studies on the safety of taking it while breastfeeding; who knows what could have happened to my infant! And all for an infection I didn't have!!! As a modest single income family, the money I paid for my two unnecessary appointments was my grocery money for the week. I don't know how they sleep at night! I asked the other two doctors how Dr. Parks and Dr. Britt could both possibly see something that wasn't there (the herpetic pattern that is seen when you stain the eye) and both responded with silence. I asked the other doctors if they have heard of similar stories in the area and again, they both dodged the question. I'm disgusted and will never trust another doctor again! THEY SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS! There are plenty of other honest eye doctors in Rockwall that offer appointments at half the price, don't throw your money away with these sorry excuses! What is the most repulsive is that Dr. Britt's office advertises as a Christian owned and operated local business. Dr. Parks and Dr. Britt: you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!! read more
