I've been a faithful patient of this eye Dr for years. I saw her in June and had a lot of vision changes due to inflammation that she said I had. She wrote my RX based on that inflammation. She said to take the rx eye drops and that in a week she was sure my vision would be better. My vision was grainy, NOT blurry. She said after a week to contact her if I was not better. So I did. By the means in which she asked, through email. She never responded. At all. So I called. They told me I had to come in to speak with her or email only. I told them I live 400 miles away and couldn't stop in and that she was not responding to any of my emails. So, she got on the phone and answered all my questions. Then she emailed me an RX for xiidra. I could not afford the RX as it was $600. The coupon is only for people with insurance which I don't have. My eyes got 100% better so I needed a new RX. I called to make an appt to get it adjusted. They told me it was past the 30 days but that they'd overlook any charges because it was due to inflammation. Being 400 miles away I had to see when I could make a trip for the appt. I was finally able to and made an appt. They told me in the meantime to get otc readers. I tried. I don't know what to look for despite what they said to get. So I just got what I thought was it and it didn't work. So I used my old rx glasses which worked but not fully. They called a few days before my appt and told me that I would have to pay. I said I don't understand that and will if I need to and asked why it changed. I was fine with the change but told them they shouldn't tell someone something then change it. They gave me such a hassle but I confirmed with them that she would indeed adjust my RX. I said are you sure? I'm driving 400+ miles for this appt I don't want to drive all that way and y'all change it once I'm there. But guess what? That's exactly what happen. First the receptionist stated that since I said my old rx was working she'd write an rx for that again. I said no, she said she would check the inflammation level and adjust my rx accordingly. So she went to the eye Dr and came back and said that she'd ONLY check my inflammation levels but not adjust my rx. When I'd ask why she would not even answer. When I ask if she was going to answer she told me she's not doing it because I refused to use the rx eye drops, refused to get the otc glasses and refused to use my old rx that I "verified" worked. I said first, I didn't refuse to use the rx drops, I couldn't afford them. Second, I tried to get the otc and didn't know what to do. Third, my old rx worked enough however they aren't correct. My new ones aren't correct and neither are my old ones. I need a new rx, is she going to adjust my rx or not? The receptionist just sat there staring at her computer screen. So I asked again, again, I asked several times. Asked if there was a reason she wasn't answering. I asked what reason she had not to help me. I asked what I did to warrant refusal for help. That she's the Dr that's what she's there for is to help. I told her I drove 400 miles that I could have seen any Dr in my area. She just sat there silent. Refused to answer anything I asked. I finally said we'd take our business elsewhere (my husband also had an appointment). I asked one last time what reason I had not to be helped. I don't understand the rudeness and refusal to answer my questions. I wasn't being rude or raising my voice. I said I'd be yelping and putting this on Facebook and that's exactly what I'm here doing. I've been a loyal patient to this Dr driving 400 miles for 3 years and was her patient many years before my move. To be done this way is unprofessional and unacceptable. I was able to get an appt with another eye dr and sure enough my old old rx that I was told to use was OFF and the newer rx was WAY OFF. It was indeed too strong and my super old glasses not strong enough. I guess she just couldn't admit she made such a HUGE mistake. read more

Front desk told me they'd accept my insurance over the phone and there would be no charge. Fast forward two weeks I get to my appointment and the girl at the front told me they'd only give me 20% off my visit and was VERY RUDE and condescending because I was confused as to why I'd have to pay when I'd never had to before for a routine eye exam. Never actually spoke to it saw the doctor so I can't speak about her but will not be back because the rude receptionist. read more

I have been going to Dr. Nguyen for many years now. I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses for about 30 years and I have suffered from Graves Disease during a portion of my life. I'm stubborn and extremely hard-headed about my contacts and refuse to take them out at night. I'm not really sure why I'm so rebellious about it. Maybe it's the Taurus in me, but I just can't conform to the do-not-sleep-in-contact-lenses law. I've actually switched eye doctors in the past because I've had at least two prior doctors threaten not to not fill my contact lens prescription for non-compliance of this rule. Dr. Nguyen wasn't nasty about my need to sleep in my lenses as if they were my security blanket or like I thought my house would catch on fire and I couldn't see to rescue my children without wearing them. Instead, she found some really comfortable lenses. The kind for dry eyes. These suckers were actually MADE so I could sleep with them on! AND, she was so cool about everything, telling me what the best solution for me REALLY worked and what drops ARE the best for me, that.... GET THIS, I actually soak my lenses every week in a cleanser overnight and sometimes I don't sleep in them!!! Bottom line is that she's amazing, she is miles ahead with technology, she's super sweet and kind, and she really, really want everyone to see life better. Oh, and she's got a groovy aquarium, too! This place was absolutely horrible & unprofessional! I do not believe my eye glasses or contact lense prescription is correct as in either, my vision is still blurry. My glasses broke & I took them to the Dr's office & asked if I could get a trial pair of lenses or even buy a trial pair & was told no, unless I could prove I bought my contacts from vision works next door. 100 bucks for an eye exam & I can't get a trial pair of contacts that cost pennies on the dollar???? The people that work there are rude & I accommodating & I will never go back. read more

I felt rushed and like this was the fast food of eye care. I was coming in to get contacts for the first time ever. We tried 4 pairs before one pair seemed to allow me to see. The next 2 days I started having headaches and called to see if I could get re-examined. I was told there was nothing they could do for me but to refund me 1/2 of my payment (60.00) because the doctor gave me an eyeglasses prescription as a courtesy. Needless to say, I now have to go back to square one. Very disappointed in care and customer service. read more

Went to a opthamologist and he said that I could have lost my eye. Mrs. Nguyen was treating me for the wrong thing I had iritis. Cost me a full month off work and maybe some damage to my eye. Spoke with the boss of mrs. Nguyen to complain which was her husband. One of the first questions he had for me is did I got to there specialist that they recommended, I told him no. I think there might be a scam that they are running by working a customer. I was very angry that he did not offer to refund me the money for the prescriptions that I bought because of mrs. Nguyen negligence. I am taking action now to make her realize she does not need to be doing this to anyone. Just to let u know I am saying mrs. Instead of dr. Because she is no doctor. read more

Took the whole family there. Everyone seemed to like her and she seemed very nice. I was the last to see her. My husband and two kids got glasses, I needed both contacts and glasses. Paid cash for the additional exam and walked away satisfied. Next day, my left eye was blurry all day so I called in the afternoon and asked if they could get me in to "tweak" the left eye. Whoever answered the phone treated me like I was an idiot asking why I would leave the office if I couldn't see. I told her I'd been wearing contacts for close to 20 years and oftentimes with a new rx it takes time to get used to it and I've had to have an eye tweaked several times over the years, it's no big deal. So I went in and saw a different doctor, filling in, and she gave me a different rx for the left eye but also suggested another type of contact since I have dry eye that she thought I might like. They didn't have it in stock so she said they would order it and call me. I picked that pair up the next week, and they scheduled me a recheck. When I came in they asked me at the front desk if I liked them when I signed in and I said no. The dr came out with another sample of lenses, handed them to me and said "if these don't work there's nothing else we can do for you". Wait, what? So another week later, they did work, as did my original pair, after the tweak, I order online and the script is changed. I call to see why and the receptionist says they gave me the wrong rx at the office because they didn't have mine. The one they changed with the contact company is my actual rx. I have no words. Came in once to be fitted for contacts. I tried two different types and after finding what I liked, ordered the lenses. Before the prescription expired, I attempted to order additional contacts. the amount of contacts ordered between these two orders was far less than a year's supply. They refused to fill the prescription because they wanted me to come back in, even though there were still 2-3 months on the prescription and I was almost out. After talking them into verifying my valid prescription with the contact website, I was informed that the lenses ordered did not match my prescription. I called again and learned that they did not clear me for my preferred lenses, but the ones that I had chosen not to use. Despite several phone calls, both with the seller and the optometrist's office, and assurance from the optometrist's office that they would fix the problem, I still do not have contacts. read more
