Poor Experience with Long Waits Despite Appointment scheduled…read more I had an appointment scheduled for 7:00 AM today at the Sonora Quest location in Peoria, but it was a frustrating experience from the start. When I arrived, there were already 16 people ahead of me. I didn't get checked in until about 7:10 AM because the line at the kiosk was so long. A big issue I noticed was that many of the people waiting were walk-ins, which seemed to slow everything down for those of us who had actually booked appointments. The staff was polite, but the system clearly wasn't handling the volume well. Suggestion for improvement: Sonora Quest should offer online check-in in addition to the kiosk. This would let scheduled patients confirm their arrival ahead of time, reduce congestion in the waiting area, and help prioritize appointment holders over walk-ins. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at all today. I understand labs can get busy, especially in the mornings, but with an appointment I expected a much smoother process. I hope they implement better check-in options soon to make visits more efficient for everyone.

The employee at the window while pleasant, was not able to find resolution for people other than redirecting people to other facilities. Also, your sign should be in front of your office rather than in front of your front window. It would prevent the patient from feeling uncomfortable by NOT SEEING YOUR SIGN It appears your other facilities are unaware that you are an appointment only facility. Also, your facility always seems to be behind.

All check ins are done through the kiosks in the waiting area. I found the kiosk easy to use and I only had to wait about 10-15 minutes since I made an appointment through their website. The phlebotomist who helped me was Teanna and she was wonderful! I have notoriously difficult veins, so I always dread getting blood drawn, but she made the process quick and easy. We also had a nice chat about my ear piercings! I would not hesitate to return to this location in the future.

This was my normal location that I always came to and I never needed an appointment before. Luckily they had posted this location as the alternative lab to visit. When I arrived I discovered that I definitely need an appointment at this location. This seems to be a new location and the waiting room was very small for the number of people that were waiting. Many people were waiting outside the lab waiting room, because there weren't enough seats. They do have a big TV screen that lets people know where they're at in line which was very appreciated. At first I was number seven in line, but as more and more people came in with appointments, I just kept getting bumped down to the bottom. When I finally decided to leave, I was number 14. This isn't anything that necessarily made me upset because I'm glad that people with appointments were getting called first. I quickly realized that fmmovingmoving forward I definitely need to make an appointment. I ended up leaving and scheduled an appointment in another week online which was pretty easy at Sonora lab.com. It would have been nice of Sonora Quest to notify customers who used the Sun City lab that that location was being closed. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation today.

I got here at 11:43AM and the door was unlocked, the door from the lobby into the back was left open and no one was up front. At about 12:01PM the lady came back and was like, "How did you get in here?!" I must have scared her because she wasn't expecting someone to be in the lobby. She did my drug test despite it being her lunch time. She was really nice and called me "babe."

They were understaffed.

I feel like I struck gold finding this lovely couple to co-treat me. I felt like my life was going to end when I got diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Chahal went the extra mile to let me know that he is here for me. He is so smart, and guided me but most importantly he let me make all of the decisions for myself. My A1C went from an 11.9 to a 5.3 in 9 months! He continues to tell me how proud of me he is. I love the extra support. Dr. Rana brings the same amount of joy into my life. She has always been so supportive of my issues and my personal feelings. She has offered 110% of her heart into my journey of trying to conceive. I would cry and feel doubtful. She would pick me back up and say "you got this!" I am now 5 weeks pregnant. I am also considered high risk due to being plus size and diabetic, but Dr. Rana makes me feel like I'm normal like everyone else, and makes me excited to go through this journey knowing I have her and Dr. Chahal by my side! Dr. Rana offers many services, as well at Dr. Chahal. I love them dearly, and they have both changed my life health wise. I have referred many friends and family to this team of Dr's. Go see them! I have already reached my deductible for the year so I knew I should not have to pay anything out of pocket. Then I receive the bill from labcorp. Over $500. My next steps were to appeal this with the insurance. They mentioned that due to the provider notes they deemed the test medically unnecessary. I have been trying to contact the office to get a formal letter from the doctor to help me appeal this to get this covered. I have called multiple times a day, since I received the bill, left a message in the portal and multiple voicemails. This is highly unprofessional for a doctors office. The number options they give you to press don't send you to anyone. They just hang up your call. I hit the scheduling option and was given the option to leave a voicemail. My next steps are to go in person, this is out of my way but I need help to appeal this labcorp bill. It seems to be a common pattern that no one is able to get a hold of anyone on the phone.
