I went to Akos for a problem that I had. I checked in and everything was routine as far as my check in. I was told to wait unit I could be seen. After waiting for a short while I was promptly seen and treated for my problem. I recommend this Urgent Care clinic as far as being seen after a short wait. Wonderful fast service the Nurse practitioner we saw was great also the front desk staff!

The staff was just amazing. Uriel was the MA I believe, very humble, super gentle and funny. Made a trip to urgent care easier to endure. Christi was the PA-C who took care of me. She is just the sweetest, so caring and knowledgeable. I definitely trusted the staff entirely. I was in and out approximately within an hour (they did have to address a patient with higher needs than I who they needed to get to the er, understandably) but honestly the time came and went as it didn't feel like much waiting. They checked up on me periodically and took care of injury very well. I work in the medical field and just seeing how they handle everything was great to see compared to other places I've witnessed who weren't as great. I was in a lot of back pain from probably a UTI, front desk lady seemed flat. Asked me if I've been there before but didn't ask for no insurance. Asked me to leave a urine sample and I did. Waited one hour then asked if I will pay cash. I told her I have insurance for I am a nurse and work with Banner Health. She stated they don't take that insurance and I can pay $95 dollars. I came early at 6 am for these really bad stomach pains. The doors were locked so we had to ring in and it wasnt too much long after the receptionist opened the door for us. She gave me ask the paperwork to fill out and i was seem right away. Dr. Moore was the one who saw me. She was quick to figure out the problem and she was ready with a solution. We came here on the 4th of July for an accident my husband had. We called first, they said they were not busy at the time. When we arrive we were seen quickly by the nurse and doctor. They provided great fast service and have reasonable prices. Friendly staff!! I would highly recommended this urgent care to anyone in need for services. read more

My grandmother and fallen and hit her head. I took her to Akos as it was the I my place open at the time. The front staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long to be seen. The nurse and doctor were very courteous and made sure my grandmother was comfortable. If I ever need to go to an urgent care again I'll definitely go back there. read more

Finally; an Urgentcare that is open 24 hours a day! My wife had a migraine at 3am which caused vomiting. We stopped by unannounced and were seen right away. Walk-in friendly & reception was professional. I have anxiety so I tend to panic easily but the nurse practitioner kept reminding that I am going to be okay. She walked me through the procedure and explained it well. So sweet and made conversation to calm my nerves. I would definitely come back. read more

This place is just a straight take your co pay and keep it pushing. Can't write doctor notes for anything, can't recommend anything but go to other facilities. Basically a glorified google but they make sure you got insurance before you can even have a seat inside read more

Ppl come here sick and she's yelling raising her voice asking the person to repeat themselves, the person is sick why don't you get off your ass and have some compassion . This place is a complete waste of time....l waited over 2 hours just to get into a room,lthink they noticed my impatience and put me in a room just so l wouldnt leave...l was the inly one in the waiting room most of the time!Well then I waited in the room for another for the so called doctor and when he came in he didnt even wash his hands....did not check my ears or throat...he asked me to stick out my tongue then he said l was dehydrated!!!l had gone in because my stoumach hurt and l had a sore throat...he prescribed me a script that l was allergic to so l called them and they said they would call me back....they never called back so l tried again and asked if l could get another script and they told me that l couldnt handle another script that it would be to strong for me!!Like l said dont waste your time and money!! read more

On Sept. 8, my back had a swollen sebaceous cyst. The pressure and pain were immense and the infection was making me sick. Since it was Sunday, my husband drove me to the local Akos Urgent Care. My first clue this wasn't a trustworthy place was when I asked Monica if it would be possible to bill me the copay. She gave two non-nonsensical answers: 1) "We don't do that here." My response: "I meant your billing department." 2) "Well, they aren't working today." Of course, billing departments work during the week to bill insurance companies. Couldn't they also bill me? Monica never answered that question. There were only 2 people in that office, Nurse Practitioner Diana Curd and a clerk, Monica. They both had to divide their time between me and other patients. When NP Curd lanced my cyst, my husband assisted. I asked if there was anyone to help her, and she stated Monica was busy with other patients. In spite of what Akos advertises on their website, there was no doctor on duty. The NP took a sample for the lab and told us the results would be available by the following Saturday. Then, the antibiotics will be adjusted accordingly. On the 9th, 10th and 11th, I had evening fevers and chills, in spite of the 3 different antibiotics the NP put me on. (One was injected, the other 2 oral.) I took ibuprofen to manage it. I had a follow up appt with my own doctor's P.A. and with the doctor-on-call after hours. We all looked forward to getting the lab results so my antibiotics could be properly adjusted to the bacteria that hurt me. I called on Wednesday, the 11th and spoke with a guy named Yuriel. He seems to have a stutter and speaks English with an accent. People in the background kept talking to him while he was on the phone with me. He told me it takes 3-5 business days to get the lab results. I explained my situation, in detail. He said he'll email the doctor and then call me back. I asked the name of the doctor and he answered, "Diana Curd." I corrected him. "She is not a doctor," I said. "She is a Nurse Practitioner." Then he suddenly realized she wouldn't be in until Saturday, so he'll send an email to the doctor that is working in office and call me. I called at about 2:00 on Friday, 9/13. Yuriel did apologize for not calling me back. He stated he would contact the lab and then call me back. I told him I'll give this until 4:30, and then I'll call back and speak with a supervisor. The supervisor called me at 4:20, to inform me the lab informed them the sample was too small and had dried up, so they couldn't do a culture. At least she was honest about that, I suppose. But then, all this ass-covering started. She suggested maybe the driver left it in his car. (!) She didn't know what happened. I said it would have been nice to have been told this on Wednesday, to which she answered this was the first time the results were requested. I corrected her, stating I spoke to Yuriel about this on Wednesday! I explained to her Yuriel has been referring to NPs as "doctors". This is misrepresentation and ILLEGAL. She said he's a new employee and will train him. My health and well-being have been placed at risk. Of course, I will get a copy of my records and file proper complaints with my insurance company and other places. I'm writing this to help other people who are in pain or sick. Stay away. Go somewhere else. Phoenix is a big city. There are other Urgent Care Centers that are better equipped and cleaner and more professional than Akos. read more

I'm writing this review for the location in Scottsdale. Complete waste of time and money. Went there to get my son checked for step throat. We were the only ones at the clinic and we finally left after an hour and half. It took the girl 7 tries to register us which was over a half hour. We should have left then but waited to see if it would get better. Then we finally get to the room and took another half hour to get our vitals right. She had issues getting good photos of my sons throat because the doctor will need a clear view since it's a virtual doctor. She finally calls the doctor and took over 10 minutes for the doctor to sign on for the call. We were beyond frustrated at this point. All I can say is we walked out of there with the instructions to drink plenty of water and some ibuprofen. Well now my son has an appointment with his doctor because he is still not feeling better and now red spots on his throat. This place is so incompetent and total waste of time and let me emphasize time and of course money. read more

This urgent care denied my medical care when I returned because go ever prescribed me the wrong medication. As I walked in the door I approached the front desk and told the receptionist Elly that I had been seen a few days ago and I did not have a pcp and the medicine was not working . She says mmhm EVERYONE THAT HAS COME IN HERE HAS SAID THE SAME THING. She says have a seat. So I sit for 20 minutes for her to tell me that the doctor saw was not there and that the doctor that's there will se me but I will have to repay a copay to see him . I have an ear infection, with probably an upper respiratory infection, and I have not been able to breath, smell, or taste in two weeks . I made the biggest mistake wasting my time here with they're nasty and misleading attitudes. If you need a good urgent care this is not it. I am from out of town and I will never step foot back into this community at all . read more

If I could give negative stars, I would! This place is BS! Do NOT go here! I called at 1:30 today and was told they were getting a delivery of COVID-19 tests later today and were open 24 hours so come anytime. Called at 6pm when I got off of work and was told walk-ins were after 9pm because they had "shift change" from 6-9pm. Get there at 9pm and it has 2 signs outside the door that say to stay in your car and call for COVID-19 testing. After my MIL and I called 14 times from my phone and 4 or 5 from hers, a girl FINALLY answered and told us they weren't doing anymore COVID testing tonight as there were 50 people ahead of me. After I explained my previous calls and that we were told we had to walk in (was told on the 2nd call at 6pm they did not take appointments) she told me I could register but that they would not get to me until 3 or 4 am! I am BEYOND pissed and will be calling corporate tomorrow. read more
