Once I was taken in, Nathan was amazing and brought in the team lead, Esmeralda who got it flowing the first time. I was going to give this a one star but to be fair, they are now a three. They were understaffed.

I was kind of turned off by the unprofessional discussion being held by the two staff who were quite loud and didn't curb their discussion even though I was within five feet. I got here at 11:43AM and the door was unlocked, the door from the lobby into the back was left open and no one was up front. She did my drug test despite it being her lunch time. She was really nice and called me "babe."

I got in around 1:10pm and handed the lady at the check-in my doctor's order and a copy of my insurance card. She gave it a quick look and said I'm all good and I sat down. 20 minutes later and I noticed people coming in after me as walk-ins were going back before me. I looked up at the computer and I wasn't even checked in. Another worker sat at the check-in counter and asked me to come up and once again needed my insurance card. I was frustrated as it took the girl 10 minutes to put everything in the system and finally putting me at the end of the line at check-in. I'm not a new patient to Sonora Quest, my insurance was in their system and on the doctor's order. An extra 10 minutes later (This makes it 40 minutes since I came in) I finally was called back. I never waited that long to be seen even with an appointment. The wait was so exessive it caused me to have to take an extra hour of unpaid time off work. I couldn't leave and go to another location because I needed the bloodwork done within 24 hours of my ultrasound. COVID-19 tip: This location does require you to wear a mask. They will provide a mask if you do not have one (I left mine at home)

When I arrived, there were already 16 people ahead of me. I didn't get checked in until about 7:10 AM because the line at the kiosk was so long. A big issue I noticed was that many of the people waiting were walk-ins, which seemed to slow everything down for those of us who had actually booked appointments. The staff was polite, but the system clearly wasn't handling the volume well. Suggestion for improvement: Sonora Quest should offer online check-in in addition to the kiosk. This would let scheduled patients confirm their arrival ahead of time, reduce congestion in the waiting area, and help prioritize appointment holders over walk-ins. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at all today. I understand labs can get busy, especially in the mornings, but with an appointment I expected a much smoother process. I hope they implement better check-in options soon to make visits more efficient for everyone.

Instead, I walked into an extremely clean, waiting room with no one, waiting, registered to get my labs done, and was called back within three minutes. My phlebotomist, Rocio, was fantastic - she kept me chatting since I was a little nervous, and did a painless stick to draw my blood. I will be going back to this location from now on!
