The teachers here are amazing, they're not just there to coach, they actually jump in and work out with you, which makes the whole experience so much more motivating. This place has changed over time, but it still delivers a workout that's fun and keeps you coming back. I'm still mourning the loss of Blended (their smoothie and açaí shop), who doesn't love a post-workout treat that feels like a reward? Right now, that space looks like it's under construction, so I'm hoping they bring it back or create something just as great. They also moved the entrance further up the street, and the new self-check-in system makes things way smoother so no more awkward moments while someone looks for your name. As for the workouts, they've got spin, yoga, strength training, and Shred. Shred is like mat Pilates on steroids with free weights, resistance bands, and weighted balls. My favorites are yoga and Shred, both in infrared-heated rooms, so you'll definitely sweat it out. The vibe is on point with cool lighting and upbeat music that keeps you going (even through endless planks). Plus, their waiting area is surprisingly big and has a fun, modern feel. Parking? Super easy. There's free parking in the apartment complex this space is in, and if that's full, street parking is usually close by. Overall, Studio 3 still delivers, even with the changes. Now if only those smoothies would make a comeback.......fingers crossed for summer!

Here's what stands out to me-- The base membership is really affordable considering the quality of this facility, so you won't feel like you're wasting $$. There is an additional fee for parking garage access but it's affordable compared to the general street parking fees we have to endure in Seattle. Personally, I don't live within walking distance so the garage is a huge plus for me. All of the equipment and machines are regularly cleaned and maintained. Unfortunately, I've noticed that other gyms in the area tend to neglect cleanliness and long term machine function, so I truly appreciate how mindful the staff are of this. The last gym I went to charged more than Henry's, yet always had rusty machines that were falling apart. I also utilize the personal training services and have been working with Danny from the beginning. He's very kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and always tailors my workout routine to fit what my goals are. If you feel unsure about what to do in the gym because it's been a while since you've joined one or if you're just looking for some guidance, the trainers here are fantastic and the staff will help fit you with the right trainer. Anyway, I can't recommend this place enough. My experience here even helped influence my partner into joining as well, so just join already !!

Need help achieving your goals? Great, they've got amazing trainers, each with many years of experience and the success stories to back it up. They'll streamline your fitness journey for you and with you --step by step. More of a get in, work out, get out person? Cool, they've got all the equipment you'll need and it's always well maintained. Want more of a community experience? I've never seen someone walk in and not be greeted by name and spoken to genuinely. Everyone I've encountered at Henry's, both staff and patron has been kind and welcoming. It's difficult to find an affordable spot in a city as good as this one, and it's the first gym in a long time I've had zero complaints about. Great place to get strong!

Rollie has a gift for tailoring every workout to my specific goals and abilities, and he always knows when to push me just enough without ever making me feel overwhelmed. What I appreciate most is how much attention he pays to proper form and injury prevention. I've noticed huge improvements not just in my strength and endurance, but also in my confidence at the gym. He's also incredibly encouraging, with the perfect mix of professionalism and humor that keeps every session fun. Oh--and did I mention he's an amazing dancer? Honestly, it's a crime he hasn't been cast in Magic Mike. What a waste of talent! If you're looking for a trainer who truly cares, knows his stuff, and makes you look forward to working out, Rollie is the one. I feel stronger, healthier, and more energized than I have in years--and that's 100% thanks to him.

AF is a solid neighborhood gym. Plenty of equipment, clean, free parking (!!!), and friendly management. I was really impressed that Chris read and responded to my survey feedback; he really does want this place to meet clients needs. On top of that, the price is right; it really is one of the best values around. There aren't any classes, if that's your jam, but there is a free session with the trainers to help you build a 30 day plan. I'm really happy here. Thanks Chris!

Instruction and transitions were a bit confusing at first since the classes are larger than I'm used to, but after a while I was able to catch on. I was fairly confident on treadmill but I have gone a long time without strength training so I got my butt kicked then. The instructor Noah led the class well and gave clear instructions that I was able to follow easily. I'm impressed how he can give instructions to the floor and the treadmill groups at the same time. I also liked how Noah wasn't pushing us too hard and kept it open for the participants to modify their workout according to their capability. They provide you with two sets of hand towels on the treadmill and the floor station, so no need to bring a towel to wipe your sweat. The locker room is kept tidy, and if I remembered correctly, there were three shower stalls in the women's locker. Shower stalls were stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and face cleanser. They also provide bath towel, which is very helpful. On top of that, they have dyson hair dryer, so you can take all the time you need to clean up after the workout. Post workout, I tried the Barry's & Brunch smoothie. They were a nice size and was refreshing after class. All the smoothies come with vanilla flavored whey protein, which was blended well with the drink. Only one concern I had was that the vanilla flavor came off too strong and I thought the smoothie was a little too sweet for my preference. I'm signed up for another class this Saturday, and I am excited to get back!

You leave feeling accomplished after a thorough workout while dancing to great songs. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came here. It was a bit confusing trying to find the studio. When you enter from street level, you have to go downstairs towards the Underground Dance Studio. You can either dance barefoot or with shoes (wish they could make a rule about which one because my feet always get dirty). The class starts off with some warm up dances and then moves through different types of styles of dancing with each song change. You get to express yourself however you want to. You don't have to do every single move the same way and they encourage movement around the floor. Thankfully there are a bunch of fans around the room because by the 3rd song I'm always sweating. There are no official breaks so step off the dance floor and get water as necessary. Class ends with some stretching and warm cloths with some sort of essential oil. I can't wait til the next class!

I figured I would just try this place out since it was quite close to my home and it had good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheerful and upbeat all the instructors are (I tried Zumba/Hiphop and More than Dance classes and probably have been in classes with 5 different instructors (depending on the day/time you choose to go). What I can say is that all the instructors are have their own styles but are definitely wonderful and will keep you happily dancing. What I particularly like about this place is the christmas lighting and the setting that makes you not feel so self-conscious about what you are doing wrong or how terrible of a dancer you may think you are. I admit that I'm not a naturally good dancer and I have a good time everytime I go there. There are, of course, some people there who can dance like rock stars and look really cool when they dance. However, the instructors there are very encouraging and provide guidance what you can do as a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancers, so you can really just do things at your own level and not care so much about others. It definitely feels liberating to just be able to dance your own style, at your own pace/level, and nobody is judging you on how you look or how weird you dance :). After the package ran out, I ended up signing up for more classes and still go there whenever I find some free time.
