I've been an exercise person most of my life and had a 5 year hiatus due to knee pain, then recovery from 2 knee replacements. I've now been doing Lagree for 2 months and I've been blown away at how low impact, yet effective, Lagree has been. The quality of instructors at this studio is amazing. They are beyond caring and provide friendly corrections where needed and assist with modifications if you have any pre-existing issues. The exercises are safe and intense, targeting the entire body and I never leave a class feeling unchallenged. read more

This is a beautiful studio. I only attended the 5:45am class but it was never completely full. The instructors are very knowledgeable. There is a water fountain and bathroom in the studio (no shower.) As a new student you must get there 10-15min early out of courtesy and to go over the machine. Great core/leg workout. I didn't sweat very much but my muscles were dead once the muscle group was worked. You also have to purchase or bring grip socks. I grabbed a pair there for $20. This is a great studio for the Queen Anne neighborhood. Street parking. read more

I took my very first Lagree classes here with Mara. I loved it! Would totally be a regular if I could afford it right now. She's very thorough in her instructions, giving helpful feedback, and gauging how much challenge/resistance her students can handle. I went to another Lagree studio the next week and was surprised at the lack of instruction and bad form most students had. It seems like a great instructor goes a long way! I started using ClassPass and did the Barre class earlier today. This is one of the best sculpting workouts I've had in a very long time! I am hooked and can't wait to go back. Rebekah is truly amazing!! It was the perfect combination of toning and cardio. Rebekah made sure I was utilizing the right muscles and corrected my form. I took an intro class hoping to learn the moves and ramp up to the regular class technique. Well the intro class is no intro at all. I get that the class time is short and transitions are quick, but maybe in the intro class you could physically demo the body position you want students to go into and slow those transitions down a pinch. Also, it would be great if the instructor advised of modifications to moves too in the intro class setting like other workout classes do. Isn't the point that I learn the techniques in intro and then take a regular class confidently? I am a rock climber, hiker, and take barre... but this class had me feeling like an injury could happen easily. I know it takes a handful of classes to get the hang of a new workout, but I'm not sure why you bother to offer an intro class if it's not going to be on an introductory level. One last thought- warm up and cool down with proper stretching is important and I would have done my own warm up before class had I known that there is zero in class. Injury risk for sure. read more

Found this studio on ClassPass while looking for a low impact workout - initially, I was hoping for a soft and easy yoga class. I'd taken pilates once in my life, and they were private lessons that I distinctly remembered being not too vigorous, so when I saw this studio I thought to myself, how hard could this be? And signed up without a second thought. I WAS WRONG. This class was SO hard. I walked out and texted no less than 5 people telling them about how much Inspire kicked my butt. I was sore for a solid day and a half probably after. And I keep going back trying to get better, even though I still haven't yet. I won't spend 2 paragraphs telling you about the Lagree method because truthfully, I still don't know it very well. I haven't taken a 'true' pilates class yet on ClassPass, so I can't tell you how this compares to a normal pilates class. What I can tell you though is: 1. These machines do keep it low impact, so you definitely will not be slamming any joints 2. This felt like a merge of cross training and yoga - I was flowing, the way one would it yoga, but activated totally different muscles since I was on the machine. The workouts are short, only 45 minutes, but oh so tough. I was dripping sweat by the 20 minute mark. Things to remember for this studio - it is located on Queen Anne Ave, so parking can be hit or miss - I often park in the neighborhood nearby and walk over. They do require socks, so don't make the same mistake as me and just keep buying more socks - stuff all your packs with socks! The bath and changing rooms are both located at the back of the studio, so you do have to walk through the class if you want to use either of these - I apologize if I interrupted anyone's work out who reads this!! All in all, a solid studio - there is a slight exclusive feel to the studio compared to some of the mom and pop shops nearby, but I consider it highly professional. I had the greatest core work out of my life here, and will keep coming back to hopefully keep getting stronger! read more

I came here yesterday using my ClassPass membership. I'm new to Pilates, so I was a little intimidated, but the instructor (Carly) gave me a great introduction to the machine and encouraged me throughout the entire class. Using the machine was a bit scary at first, but Carly was there to correct my form and help me throughout the entire 40-minute session. It was so hard! I couldn't do some of the poses and my legs were shaking the entire time, but by the time it was over, I was dripping with sweat and feeling really good. That's exactly what I want out of a workout! Thanks for encouraging a newbie like me, Carly! It really helped make me feel less self-conscious as we powered through each pose. The studio itself is really clean and in such a great spot. I didn't have any difficulty finding parking outside, either. I already have sticky socks from the Pure Barre classes I attend which I brought with me, but if you don't have any, you'll have to buy some at the front desk before entering the class, just FYI! read more

Inspire reminds me of Brooklyn Body Burn in New York, it's very similar work out and both use Megaformer. I have been here for 4 times so far, each time I had different teacher, some are more friendly than the other. Overall, I think the class is pretty effective in the sense that you can get a really good work out in 40 minutes. Especially after attending the advanced class, I dared not to laugh for the next two days as my core just hurt when I laughed! Because they schedule the class 40 minutes back to back, you pretty much just go and leave. If you are first-timer, make sure you get there at least 10 minutes early and fill an online form before hand, otherwise they won't let you go in the class (which happened to me...I was exactly 2 minutes late to the class and the teacher turned me away). The studio is very clean, they only got one change room and one restroom, no shower. If you are looking for a good conditioning class, I'd highly recommend it! read more

Brutal classes that leave your muscles quaking. The studio is large and nice because the machines take up quite a bit of space. Because of this you never feel like you are cramped. The instructors are all pretty different but all lead pretty intense classes. Some are more instructive than others and some will certainly call you out of form if you are new, like me. I have done several workout group classes in several different studios and this one is no joke and makes me question my own strength. Definitely beneficial but might not be for me. Still up for debate but I promise you will be swearing up a storm during class. read more

My new go-to studio for weight/resistance training. The method works and the instructors know their shit. This workout keeps me safe and strong, and keeps and lower back pain away. I have hyper-mobility and their focus on core stabilization is exactly what my PT recommends. I went to an all levels class since it said beginners were ok to come (I also teach yoga, run, hike, and go to all kinds of classes including barre and Pilates). I told the instructor at check-in that this was my first class - she said I'd be fine. This was absolutely not an all levels class. I got the 15 second machine overview but then she got right to business. As a fitness instructor myself, I have learned to never assume my students have warmed up their bodies just before my class. This instructor provided no warm up, no cool down, no framework to the class. We got right into some serious ab work that required immense shoulder flexibility that without a warmup, that's dangerous! This was a trend throughout class - my body was not prepared for the movements we were being asked to do. My form was also never corrected. With movements that are that intense and extreme, the instructor should have had a much closer eye on us. I was also never offered a modification - to be honest, I don't think I ever completed any one movement correctly to its full range of motion. I was lost, confused, and left feeling discouraged and angry. What a terrible and dangerous experience. I should have left and would suggest you do too. read more

My roommate and I bought their introductory special (3 classes for 25$) after walking past the studio on Queen Anne - clearly not knowing what we were getting into! We signed up for the beginner session after reading some of the reviews and I am so glad we did. They have a great on line registration system which is super easy to use. The classes tend to fill up a few days before so it's always good to register as far in advance as you can. The fact that they charge you for a missed session was enough to motivate me to keep going back. The workout is tough, I'm not gonna lie - even the beginners. In fact, we never moved up to level one in the three classes we took. You feel like kind of an idiot at first if you aren't familiar with pilates machines, but that's why you take the beginners class first. Our trainer had me grunting and sweating the entire time - but the class is only 40 minutes and it goes by really quickly. The music is great, and the 3 times I went, I never did the same routine. I don't know that I'll go back ONLY because of the price. It's pretty spendy but I can definitely see how it would be worth it if you had a few extra bucks! I at least encourage you to try it out - you might get hooked. read more

Okay... flash 5 months later. I am STILL doing this. I did have a short time off in between as I debated buying a pass after my 3 sessions for $20 expired. But I bought the pass that time and have continued buying the monthly pass from that point on. This is THE BEST workout I have EVER done. I cannot say enough good things about this workout. My legs..... my legs are actually thinner in a way that I have never seen them. I have lost weight and gained muscle doing this, but am more lean looking than ever and NOT bulky. Let's just say it's not a bad feeling when your family gives you the "OH my god.. what have you been doing!?" thing. Let me tell you why this workout works and will keep working for you: 1) It's not cheap. Okay sure.. you are thinking, well that's a bad reason. It's not though. When you spend the money for a monthly membership like that, you feel obligated to yourself to use it. I mean what kind of jerk would spend over $100 to sit on their butt instead. But wait.. there's more... 2) Classes fill up fast, so you need to book in advance. This also may not sound like a plus, but for the serious procrastinator such as myself who says "eh.. I'll go tomorrow" this works wonders. You HAVE to plan your schedule in advance and if you cancel less than 24 hours before the class you LOSE it as part of your package for the month. You begin to get a routine going and you will never have that day where you decide not to go and then begin the downward spiral to not working out. TRUST ME this is the longest period of time I have ever stuck with anything 3 times a week no matter what. Anytime I feel like not going.. I just suck it up and go. 3) The teachers will never let you get bored. All the teachers are so different and have their own styles. You can mix it up and still know you are going to get your butt kicked. ALL of them are good. 4) YOU would never work yourself out like this. You know you wouldn't. Once I feel that intense burn at the gym.. I'm like "cool... I worked out hard." NO... not here. You will feel that burn within the first few minutes and gradually spread it to every muscle in your entire body and keep pushing because you definitely don't want to be that person that quits while everyone else is pushing through the same pain. 4) Um.. did I mention.. my legs? read more

Each instructor here brings a new spin to their class so you can get a different work out each time. The classes are up beat and energetic - I can't get enough. I have been attending Inspire about 3-4 times a week for the last 5 months and my body is proof that this place can do wonders. I have a fused upper spine, had been in a car accident, and was completely out of shape. After 3 months I noticed my pain was reduced, I felt stronger overall, had better posture and could see muscle tone I hadn't seen in years. The instructors gave me alternate exercises for the ones I either can't do or that trigger irritation so I don't feel like I'm unable to participate fully in classes. Unless you are already somewhat athletic and/or have taken pilates previously, I would highly recommend taking the Beginner class on Saturday before diving in. I took the Beginner class twice before getting into a regular schedule and it helped me understand the machine, as well as get a good feel for the pace of the class and what to expect (and if you're unsure about anything, ask! Every instructor is there to help you reach your goals). Inspire is a perfect combination of toning and cardio. The classes are fast-paced so the time flies by, and the instructors make sure you're utilizing the right muscles and will correct your form. I finally got here. I knew it would be good. It was! I caution you in 2 ways- 1.) if you are older like I am and possibly have some movement restrictions- be prepared to do a few modifications- the machine is a bit high for stepping on and off quickly. Thus, leave your ego at the door. The instructors are skilled at teaching modifications quickly. 2.) if you love new interesting hard work exercise- you will want more! be prepared! I love physical fitness and trying new and different things. I see and felt the value in this right away. By using the machine movements are in a certain plane and thus muscle groups are targeted carefully. This keeps you or me from sort of cheating like we can do int he gym without a track. I chose the class taught by Sean, because I know him and he knows me from his yoga teaching. I arrived early and the first student who came after me talked briefly about how I would love it. Good start. I will say a couple times I was surprised with what we did- the movements are different and there is rapid change from one thing to another. Next time I will be more mentally prepared. I did like what we did, it takes time to be used to the machine. The directions given were clear and easy to follow. The classes are only 40 minutes- even if one part feels like torture you can make it!. The instructors only have 5 minutes between classes, so you can't expect a lot of chatting - just get in start and then work hard and you are off into the city!! read more

I recently moved to Seattle from New York. I loved my Lagree Fitness class there (at Brooklyn Bodyburn which is now SLT Brooklyn). I was so excited when I discovered Inspire and learned that the Queen Anne location had the exact same machines. I took a couple of classes with a few different instructors and couldn't find the right one. Most of the classes just didn't feel challenging enough. Some of them didn't correct my form. Some were just not welcoming. I was so close to giving up! But then I found Devin (at the West Seattle location at first). He's amazing! His classes are definitely challenging. He's always offering modifications if you want more or less challenge. His instructions are great. I like that he is usually able to correct my form just by explaining. The studio itself is spacious, modern, and clean. The machines are pretty new. I don't like that the bathrooms are on the other side of the studio and I end up going with socks only, but nothing really they can do about that. I was late one time because I was stuck in traffic. I called the studio as soon as possible, not sure if anyone would pick up since they usually don't have an extra person manning the desk. My call actually reached someone who clearly explained to me my options. This was extremely helpful and it's great to know that calls are re-routed to an actual person when classes at the specific studio are in session. I highly recommend trying a class if you haven't! read more

One word: results. This is one of the best sculpting workouts I've ever been to. I feel much stronger, have noticed myself become slimmer and more defined, and have gotten comments from friends and family that I look great. I haven't worked out since 1997, seriously! I walk QA for exercise but thought I should start doing something else to work my upper body. I decided to try Inspire after my girlfriend raved about it. the first week, I was so sore I could hardly move, the second week, I was sore but recovered much faster than the first week and so on. The staff is amazing, the owner Sue, has been incredibly helpful and patient with me during my transition of learning this new exercise technique. I love The Lagree Pilates method-- I attend a studio in San Francisco 3x per week. Inspire knocked my socks off during a visit to Seattle. This came after I had a horrible experience at a studio on the East Side which gave me the mistaken belief that maybe only my studio in California could live up to my expectations of the method (us Californians tend to forget that others can do things just as well in other places :)-- snotty, we know) First, I was greeted upon my arrival by the instructor, Ari. The studio was open early enough to give ample time to new students to get acquainted with the facility. She spoke with enthusiasm from the get. Ari is an incredible instructor! She gave the correct names to the moves and during the current move she would give the class notice what would follow next, which facilitated smooth transitions. It is so wonderful when an instructor not only calls out ways to improve the moves but takes the time to, for example, to physically move your hips or help you turn your hand to get in the right position. This helped to maximize this workout. Lagree emphasizes the use of modifications and Ari knew of a modification for all the exercises, which was much appreciated. My body is a bit in vacation mode and the availability of modifications were my saving grace in Ari's intense class. The instructor was high energy throughout the class! It is wonderful to hear inspirational word me when you think your muscles cannot push any further. Thank you Inspire for a wonderful workout. My muscles shook for hours after the class. This is how a 40 minute workout should make you feel! I cannot wait to take another class at your studio!! read more

I visited on travel using classpass. The instructor, Shana, was very welcoming and nice. The class was challenging and Shana offered adjustments/corrections to perfect form. The class flew by and I clet shaky at the end (like I should!). I also tried the rival. Inspire was a much better class. I ended up coming back to Inspire before I left. Shana was my instuctor again and she even let me keep my bags for my flight home there while I had dinner. Good class. Good people. read more

First off- this is NOT Pilates. At all. I managed an authentic pilates studio for two years and have been doing pilates for close to five years. I am biased, coming from a classical studio, but what I experienced doesn't deserve to have Pilates attached to the name. That being said- it was a great work out. I am sore in every major muscle group and some smaller muscles. The music was great, the studio was clean. I will not being going back for one reason- the possibility of injury. I am training for a half marathon and don't want to risk it. During the class I attended only 5 of the 9 spots were full, and only two people (myself included) were new, and instructor didn't do nearly enough spotting. At one point one of the regulars literally FELL OFF her "proformer", and the instructor didn't even notice. This style of workout is not for anyone with an injury, body imbalances, or older/weaker people. read more

The good: -It's a highly effective workout. If you already have a background in Pilates, movement, or other types of athleticism you will appreciate the intensity and challenge. You seriously get it done in 40 minutes as well as get results quickly. Most of their classes are labeled something like "total body workout" and that is accurate. -Studio is clean, comfortable, and the temperature is always perfect. The not-so-good: -Very high risk of injury. The instructors are trained to move you through quickly which maximizes the time. One thing they do to achieve this is to tell you the next move in the last 10 or so seconds of what you are currently doing. Could be a good thing if you are familiar with the moves, but there's little to no instructions on posture / form / technique / precautions. It's regimented and impersonal. No pauses. Again, could be a good thing for the right person. -The acoustics are difficult. Either the mic is too loud, the music is too loud, or both. Because the instructor is walking around rapidly, and their mic is connected to multiple speakers, you can never tell where they are on the off chance that they might be demonstrating the posture. If you're new, you might feel lost because they'll say the name of an exercise and you have no idea where they are. Then, you glance at your neighbors and they're all doing something slightly different. - If an instructor comes around to adjust you, their tone can be condescending and they don't ask before they touch. So, in summary: it's an epic workout, but it's not fun and it's dangerous for newcomers. read more

I really hate leaving bad reviews due to me being understanding that reviews can mean a lot to buisness's, but I just had to tell my honest opinion that my friends and I had. 1st Time: This was all three of our first time doing a lagree class. One of my friends does barre classes frequently, and then my other friend and I do soul cycle 3 times a week. So this was some thing totally out of our comfort zone but wanted to be adventurous and try something new and hope we would love it. The studio is very gorgeous, clean and well kept. They have grippy socks to purchase and the location is great (i live in queen anne so very convenient) The instructor kind of introduced themselves and showed us very quickly on how to use the reformer. We were excited!! As we were starting, MAN! I was sweating and within 20 minutes my legs were shakin so bad I could hardly stand - But during the class the instructor seemed very annoyed that we weren't nailing the poses the first try. They were very snobby, and even sighed when I wasn't getting it after the 2nd try - I was trying to get the motion correct before I added resistance and they came up to me and very rudely said "how many yellows and reds are suppose to be on?" and put the resistance on for me and. I literally couldn't of moved it if I tried! I'm a cardio bunny! I have 0 strength - as a first timer you shouldn't force someone to add resistance. One of the poses, my friend didn't have her foot the right way and they came up to her, pulled the microphone away and said "where did i tell you to put your foot?" and when she answered they said "no.. try again" Just very rude. We just got a terrible vibe; since we bought the two classes for $30, we decided not to let their vibe dictate our true impression of inspire and try a different instructor. Which we understand not every instructor is going to click with every student. Ain't no thing, we would just try a new person! 2nd time: We were excited! Because none the less, this work out is great and I can totally see how you can get in shape fast and quick with this work out. My friend and I were going into the studio, and ask the instructor where the water fountain was. They didn't even look at us and very rudely with a slight eye roll said "in the back". My friend and I both looked at each other in shock on how rude this was. We walked away and as we were getting our water we wondered if we should just leave? But, we didn't want to be disrespectful and maybe we just though they didn't realize what they just did (we honestly want to like this studio, it's such a great work out!!) To keep it short, the whole time they just made us feel unwelcome, stupid and a burden. Didn't even crack a smile when i smiled at them or when we said goodbye after class. Verdict: We love the work out. Its TOUGH work out but you definitely get your money's worth and you will get a rocking bod if you do this consistently. However, we won't be back to this studio and will try a different lagree studio. It's a shame - working out is intimating to a lot of people - especially a new work out class. Instructors should be positive, uplifting and welcoming and embracing how many people want to invest in a healthier life style. Not stuck up, snobby and and down right rude. If it's annoying to instruct newbies, maybe create a class for beginners? Long novel, but I've been doing group classes for almost 9 years now and I have never felt so degraded and taken back by instructors personality. read more

I love this studio, I love the instructors, and I love pilates! The instructors here are incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to adjust you when your form is incorrect and give great pointers throughout the session. They also know when you're having a "weak" or "off" day and are great about coaxing you through it when you are having trouble. Whats better is they have a great sense of humor and aren't afraid to laugh with you. I have a bad knee and I've found that just mentioning this to the instructor at the beginning of the class makes a great impact. They take the time to modify and adjust when needed, consistently checking in to make sure you feel stable. They really pay attention. After a month or so you can step it up a notch. Not feeling challenged? speak up, let's add some weight or tweak the excercise to make it work for you. They understand the overall goal is to walk out of there feeling like you got your a$$ handed to you, in the best possible way of course... and they make sure it happens.The instructors know it's not cheap to go there and they make sure you get your money's worth. After one month of going 3x per week I could really feel a difference in my body. I feel stronger, more aligned, and toned. No more under arm flab! Hello lifted butt! I definitely recommend trying different instructors and taking the time to find out what works best for you. I also recommend this studio to my friends and co-workers all the time and I will continue to do so. read more

I am obsessed with Inspire. As a marathon runner, I thought I was in shape...but pilates at Inspire showed me where my muscle imbalances are and how I need to work on my balance and core strength. This is hands down the most effective workout you can get in 40 minutes. Classes with Sean are super fun and he'll make you laugh while your glutes are burning from exertion. I can see a difference in my body and even if it's a bit pricey, I will definitely keep going because it's incredible. Check it out! read more

I love Inspire! The highly efficient workouts have greatly improved my fitness level. I cycle, and feel that the SPX workouts have done wonders for increasing my power, and have generally improved muscle tone all over. I've been going there for two months, 2-3x week. I feel that 2x a week is sufficient for achieving results in conjunction with longer cardio workouts. (You *will* get a good cardio workout here, though) Inspire offers a killer workout in just 40 minutes that's never boring and is always challenging. The instructors provide an incredible amount of personal attention and have excellent taste in music. The studio is immaculately clean and the atmosphere is friendly. There's a bit of a learning curve at first, but the instructors are skilled at helping newcomers. read more

Love this studio! It's bare bones and no frills, but it's clean, beautiful and to the point. You get in and do the work-out. You get out when it's over. Lather, rinse, repeat. Love that it's so efficient and, with 40 minute work-outs, there's no time to waste. Classes are back-to-back, so the transitions are quite quick. The main reason I'm giving it 5 stars, though, is because Olivia is incredible! Like...so amazing! I've been taking her classes for a little over two months now and have seen huge changes. I've lost a jean size! Improved posture. Better digestion. Stronger core. Better leg definition. And the list goes on. This studio uses a special Megaformer and Olivia works the class to the point of muscle failure...and that's where the real magic happens! Her workouts are seamless and well thought-out, and it makes sense how all of the moves fit and blend together. The transitions between muscle groups are smooth and she does a great job at demonstrating (and with individual form corrections when needed!). I also love that she focuses on core and legs. Some instructors spend half of a class on arms and that's just not a huge target for me. Olivia's method is still a full work-out, but she knows how much time to spend in each move in order to see results. She's also super sweet and encouraging. Right when I feel like I can't do a move for another second, she comes over the microphone with something that helps me push through it! Her music is also on-point. I just take her classes now, and I'd follow her to the moon if that's where she taught! LOVE HER! All that said, the workout is hard! You'll get the most out of it knowing that upfront and coming prepared to work. The 40-minute sessions are over so fast, so keep that in mind when it feels tough! read more
