I've had a really good experience at Transform180. I train with Stirling twice a week and he's great -- knowledgeable, pays attention to form, and makes workouts feel productive without being over the top. As is usually the case, buying more sessions lowers the price per session. The gym can get a little busy at times during the after work hours, but it's never been a real issue. Equipment is solid and the overall vibe is pretty easygoing. Overall no complaints -- I've been happy with it and would recommend. read more

Transform 180 is great for personal training. Colin was very attentive to what my goals were and definitely pushes you without over doing it. I was very please with what results I was able to get in just 3 months with training twice a week. He was willing to be as involved as you'd like him to be (whether you want nutrition and at home workouts as well or just want to stick to the training you do in the gym). He's also very flexible with any schedule changes as well. As for COVID things, the Belltown location is fairly small, so there were never more than 3 trainers in the gym at the same time from my experience. Also everyone (trainers and clients) wore masks the whole time, however i don't think they technically require it for clients. All trainers clean the equipment right after use which is much appreciated to see things actually being cleaned. If I wasn't moving out of the area I'd definitely continue my training! read more

I highly recommend Ethan Kenney as a personal trainer. I came to him/T180 for strength training. The exercises he had me do were personalized for my goals and needs. I also had some lower back pain that I made Ethan aware of, and we were able to work around that and also did exercises to support my lower back. He was very attentive during workouts, giving suggestions and feedback to improve form, and was always willing to let me pick his brains about the workouts and fitness in general. The 55-min sessions with him were just the right amount of intensity, and he was always pushing me to ensure I was still making progress and meeting my goals, but still remaining safe and not injuring myself. Transform 180 Training also uses InBody, a body composition analysis machine, to track progress, which I liked. They take COVID-19 precautions seriously. Everything is wiped down after each use, people are keeping space, and everyone is wearing masks. read more

For TLDR: Transform 180 is your best (and only) chance to achieve fitness. I started and stopped (within 2-3 weeks) my fitness journey several times since my school days. I am a big guy (by size) since I was a kid thus achieving fitness has been a pain, and I hated working out as my body went sore every weekend. As I went thru different types of workout training methodologies, I figured out I am lacking the urge to show up every day to the gym because people I am working with had the least motivation to work on my fitness instead wanted to take me thru a regimental program. He assured me to personalize my experience at Transform 180, and he kept his promise. Trainers at Transform 180 are genuinely interested in your fitness. I have been working with Austin Hoerner for many months and has been my best experience with any personal trainer. He helps me think about my fitness while he himself puts a lot of efforts in planning and strategizing my workout. He has a sheet of workout which measures my previous performances performing high-intensity workouts which helps him push me to the next level. In a workout session, he keeps motivating me to achieve higher goals and keeping me excited about my next workout. Trust me this is a blissful experience even if my body is in pain. When your trainer works out with you and takes the similar challenges as you do; you have one of the best trainers you can get. Austin and I weekly work out together, so he understands what's hard and what can be improved. It is imperative that your trainer understands the challenges you face and can customize or personalize to your needs. You can get many mass-manufactured and brainwashed [Made in China] trainers who will give you instructions to follow. But if you are looking for personalized and hyper-focused training to achieve your goals while maintaining high motivation levels, then you don't have much choice than to train with Transform 180. read more

I have a some mobility issues with one of my shoulders, and Austin has been great working with that. I can tell he really cares about my progress and wants me to improve. You know how you reach a breaking point in your life when you realize you want to get stronger...but you don't know how to? I was there and then I found Courtney and Transform 180. Courtney - I've had trainers in the past but she is by far the best. Why? Her instruction on the right pose/position has been a game-changer for me. She breaks down all the moves (from stretches to floor work to bar work to free-weights to bench) to a point where I'm confident that I'm doing them right. When I give her my confused face, she recognizes it and guides me through what I SHOULD be doing with detailed instruction. Did you know that there is a way to engage certain muscles? I didn't; until she showed me. And now my muscles POP! My mobility, strength and form are all due to her training. And she does it all with focus and laughter - how can you not love that? She's a pro! The gym itself is minimal but nice. It's a giant room with equipment. Some machines, free weights, ropes I hate. The folks there (clienta and trainers) are there to work out so they do not GAF about you. You shy? Don't worry about it here because other clients are doing their own thing. Some background: I'm a somewhat active person, I used to boulder twice a week, play volleyball once a week, etc. However, I never really focused on strength training. Even though I was active, I was still in bad shape and strength was a huge limiting factor in my getting better at bouldering. Yes, personal training is pricy, but the price also forced me to always go to my training sessions. Since training with Hannah, I've gotten considerably stronger. You'll notice little things like this after training. Climbing that big hill on denny way to fairview is now a piece of cake. I can't quite do a pull up yet, but I can now pull myself up halfway. The trainers are all great people, and I've thoroughly enjoyed working with Hannah. You just have to show up, and they have a workout tailored to your body type, goals, and progress. If you're iffy about personal training because of the price, I say try the introductory offer and take the plunge. Sure, you can just come up with your own workout plans, but you don't know if you're designing your program correctly or if your form is actually quite wrong. Without coming here, I would've never known what exactly was wrong with my squat form. I personally don't enjoy researching these things, so it's nice to have someone with the expertise to do it for you. You only have one body for the rest of your life. Every choice you make now is a long term investment. For me, I don't want to be thinking a few years down the line how I wish I worked out more when I was younger. read more

Max Aedo is the absolute best trainer! After making it my New Years resolution to get back into shape, I dragged myself to Transform 180 to try three personal training sessions. It has been such a great experience, I've signed up for a bulk package deal. Max has been amazing with teaching me the right form and really how to work out. He creates tailored workouts for every session that will push your limits but also keep it fun! This includes a mix of high intensity cardio with strength training that changes every week. I genuinely look forward to each personal training session. One time I was traveling and skipped few sessions and he created a body weight workout for me that I could do at home -- truly amazing and a great way to keep me motivated! In the last 2 months, I've already made so much progression. I used to stay away from the weights side of the gym because clearly, I didn't want to make a fool of myself. I have been to a couple of Gyms in Seattle, and Transform 180 is definitely the best. I always had a problem sticking with a Gym schedule. It usually goes like this, I go a few days, "beginners post-workout soreness" hits, and then I gradually stop going, and my routine goes back to my lethargic old self. This is where Transform 180 had the most influence. For the past 6 months, I have never missed or canceled a session, moreover, I always look forward to it. I have been training with Nate for the past 6 months, and my focus was to increase core fitness and strength. He always pushes me beyond my limit but never beyond my breaking point. Early this year I bought a series of 12 one-on-one one-hour weekly weightlifting coaching sessions from Transform 180 Training. I was a novice to both lifting and proper nutrition and ended up very happy with my experience. The facilities are first-rate and oriented to lifting, which is exactly what I wanted. The trainers I got to know there were generally knowledgeable and definitely friendly. Other gym users tended to be outgoing, noncompetitive and serious about their workouts. The best thing about this place was trainer Dan Tran, who is leaving shortly. I was assigned to Dan by luck of the draw, but I don't know how I could have gotten a better teacher and coach. He is very knowledgeable, very patient, clear in his explanations, and eager to get feedback and to make sure he's being understood. He subtly encouraged me to increase my weights and reps. (OK, sometimes he kicked my ass.) He readily adjusted my training to accommodate some health issues. I learned so much about nutrition as well as lifting form and program-building. I now feel ready to lift and eat optimally on my own. With Dan's coaching -- plus, obviously, a significant effort on my part -- over four months my weight fell to 173.5 lb. from 187.3, down 7%. Pounds of fat tissue decreased to 36.1 from 57.4, down 37%. Yet pounds of lean tissue increased to 130.3 from 122.6, up 6%. Other trainers occasionally helped and encouraged me as well, which meant a lot to me. I feel lucky to have met and worked with Dan. He is a true professional and a good guy to boot. His departure is a loss for Transform 180 but a gain for wherever he ends up. read more

My girlfriend and I were recommended to Transform 180 by our friends. They have two gyms in the Belltown area and both are very well equipped. They have a lot of a really knowledgeable trainers and the gym is never too packed even during peak times. Our first meeting was with Charith who gave us a walkthrough of both the gyms, carefully listened to our fitness goals and gave us a high-level overview of what to expect in the workout sessions. Both my girlfriend and I were assigned to Shireen, who is one of the best trainers I have worked with. She is super knowledgeable and is great to work with. She also makes quicks adjustments based on your feedback and mixes up the exercises so you don't get bored or too tired in one week. What I like the most about Transform 180 is that they don't rely on machine/equipment workouts. There is a lot of emphasis on building your core muscles and strengthening them and free weight workouts are coupled with warmups and stretching. We are most definitely going to continue working with Shireen and Transform 180. read more

I am generally too lazy to write reviews, but then you make exceptions for services which are this incredible :) Speaking of incredible, I have been with transform 180 for 2 years and would unabashedly claim that it's one of the best places to work out in Seattle. Good training gear, good trainers and good vibes all around. Shout out to my trainer, Nate McMillan . He is super accomodative in the sense that based on your mood and energy, he plans out the whole hour. He ensures that your form is correct(very observant about the nuances), you warm up adequately and most importantly he makes you push yourself in a gradual way. In the course of few months I have gained definition around chest/shoulder and feel have a much tighter core. Nate gets it! There is a lot of variety in my workout regimen which makes it interesting and something to look forward to for my sessions. P.S. Charith, the owner, himself, has a wealth of knoweldge about working out, running a business and maintaining synergy between work an d life. I purchased a Groupon for 3 training sessions at Transform 180 after seeing the fantastic reviews on Yelp. My first two sessions with Charith and Quan were great and I was almost convinced to join this place as a regular. Things went completely downhill in the 3rd session taken by Robert. 1. My session was scheduled for 6 pm. I showed up at the gym at 5.55 pm and Robert wasn't around, I stood around waiting for him. When he didn't show up even after 6.05 pm, Other trainers went to look for him. He finally arrived at 6.10 pm. 2. After showing up at 6.10 pm, Robert tells me that he can't find my file and it had been misplaced. He started asking me all the basic questions all over again. When I insisted that both Charith and Quan had my file, Quan updated the file just 2 days ago, he bothered to look again and found the file. It felt like Robert was neither aware of this training session, nor was he prepared for it. 3. Robert started the session 15 mins late at around 6.15 pm, so I assumed that he would make up for it by spending some extra time with me, I am allocated 55 mins per session. But no, he ended the session early at 6.45 citing that he needs to give me an update about the groupon. Finally he gave me the rates within 2 mins and dismissed me before 6.50 pm. I barely got a 30 minute workout. Post the session, i wrote an email to the owner about my poor experience and I received absolutely no response. Such apathy towards your customers deserves a poor rating on a public platform. Maybe this review will get their attention. read more

Have been going to Transform 180 for 1.5 years now and have had a great experience. Ethan Kenney has been my trainer and he's energetic and very thoughtful in coming up with his individualized plans for his clients. He focuses on proper form so I don't injure myself and able to adapt when there's limitations on my mobility/flexibility. I've seen significant improvements with my strength and endurance while working with him and happy to recommend him to others. He works at both the Belltown and SLU sites, so I'm able to take advantage of the features at both gyms which keeps the workouts exciting. read more

Great place for high quality workouts with a personal trainer. I worked out with personal trainers in the past and managed to get to the point where I could continue to do my exercises and stay in shape on my own for a couple of years. Unfortunately, with all the work stress and busy schedule, I didn't maintain my routines and my physical activity went down to zero. I got to the point where doing and even thinking about working out myself was overwhelming so I started looking for a personal trainer to jumpstart my fitness. And that's when I discovered this place. Transform 180 is located just a few blocks from my place so I knew this was a big plus given it's going to eliminate one of my excuses. I have been working out with Quan for the last 5 months and I have been extremely satisfied. Quan is very attentive and makes every session fun. His programs include a good mix of high intensity cardio exercises and strength-building heavy lifting. He changes the routines all the time so each session is unique and I don't feel like I am doing the same thing over and over again, which is important to me. He tailors the intensity level and exercises to my abilities and constantly asks for feedback to see if we need to adjust our sessions. At the end of each session, I feel energized and ready to go on with my day with more motivation than before. I am very pleased with the progress I have made in the last few months with Quan. I have been training with Alex since April 2019 and it has been a transformational experience. Although came in with prior workout experience, I was nursing a bunch of old injuries that prevented me from pushing myself. Alex was able to develop a customized training plan and help me identify my strong suits and areas for improvements. He tailored the plan around my schedule and lifestyle to ensure I am not burned out or exhausted. After each workout session, I feel energized and confident. On the 2-year anniversary of my shoulder surgery, I was able to deadlift 205 lbs and do 5 chin-ups; this would not have been possible without Alex. I love Transform 180! I've been here for about 2.5 months and started with a Groupon deal then stayed on for their 2x/week personal training. All the staff members I have worked with have been great, but specifically Shawna and Rena, my trainer. Rena really listened to me in my first few sessions and made sure to come up with a training program that focused on what I wanted to do (weight lifting). Rena has also designed workout plans for me to do in my office gym and while travelling and helped me with some diet/macro calculations. When my ongoing back spasms flared up last month, Rena was able to quickly adjust my program and adapt to how I was feeling while still doing the type of workouts I like. I've worked out at previous training gyms and never have received the level of service and individualized plans/workouts/support as I have at Transform 180. The gym itself if very clean and all of the equipment is maintained and taken care of. It can get a little crowded in the afternoon times but since you are working 1-1 with a trainer they are the ones navigating the space and setting up your weights for you. The music is decent, although sometimes repetitive, and the gym is neither too cold or too hot. Transform 180 is an excellent place to work out if you looking to do weightlifting/strength training and want to support and accountability of a 1-1 trainer. read more

Transform 180 is a great gym for personal training. I started here a little over a year ago when I came across a Groupon for some free sessions and decided to continue with a membership. I have worked with several trainers now and all are very knowledgeable, attentive and give you the push you need. I have been working with Max for several months now, and he keeps me accountable during and in between sessions. He does a great job with identifying when i am doing a movement incorrectly and provides several different options for correction. He keeps it intense but fun and has a great sense of humor. I use ClassPass to supplement my other workouts during the week. I discuss the different classes I plan on taking for the week and Max uses this info to help not only with planning his sessions with me, but also to suggest some stretching and cool-down activities for those classes as well. Overall excellent training experience. I recommend it to my coworkers and everyone else who might be considering personal training. It definitely helps take your physical activity to the next level, especially when you learn the correct form and techniques that you may not have realized you had been doing wrong for years. You get the kind of attention and learning that you would not otherwise receive in a group activity class or on your own. read more

I fell off the track and needed a jumpstart to get back in the swing of things. A six-session Groupon with Transform 180 did the trick and, more than three months later, I'm pretty hooked. I haven't quite reached my goal yet, but I'm nearly 20 lbs. down from my highest weight, I've lost at least 1.5 inches off my waist, and I'm down two sizes in jeans. As a woman, I've often felt frustrated with personal training experiences, which have focused on high amounts of cardio and/or cardio circuits. While that approach isn't always easy, it doesn't interest me. And it's not what I want. I want to lift weights and, without experience in this space, I looked to Transform 180 and its focus on barbell training. I've trained with Adnan twice weekly since September and I've found the investment is well worth it to train with experts that continue to challenge me and keep me accountable. With wellness, these are areas where I can't always rely on myself. Each week, we have a pull day and a press day, which dictate what exercises we focus on. Combining cardio and strength, we also have supersets (strength circuits) and ab exercises that exhaust me. Despite how hard they are and how much I want to whine through every superset ever, truth be told, I like witnessing my progress when we repeat a set a few weeks later. Aside from the numbers, I feel my stomach appears leaner, my core feels stronger, and little by little we keep upping the weight in my squats, bench press, and deadlifts (for better or worse...). Transform 180 is fantastic. I can see a sizable difference in my strength and physical appearance after only four months of twice-weekly sessions. Adnan is a great trainer and seems to truly care about helping his clients achieve their maximum potential. For example, I was having serious trouble with squats (a staple exercise in the weightlifting world). No matter what I did, I had pain in my knees, but didn't know why. Adnan researched, found the root cause (apparently flat feet aren't ideal for squats, who knew?), and created a detailed stretch routine that has significantly reduced knee pain during my workouts. Furthermore, he has tailored each training session around this issue in order to mitigate injuries. I joined transform 180 after moving into Seattle. I had been working out for last 1.5 years when I joined transform 180. I thought I know adequate about weight lifting and workouts that I could just continue to do it all on my own but transform 180 taught me so much. I worked out three times a week with Julian who is super talented when it comes to designing workout routines for your needs. It is almost two months that I have started working out in Transform 180 Training. It is a very friendly place. My plan was to be more healthier and to build more muscle. The first day was more like an introduction day where you are pushed to your limits and your abilities are examined. From then on, I kept going to this place at least twice a week. For me workouts include squats, dead lifts, olympic lifts, bench presses, and most importantly core exercises. I have gained almost 10 pounds and have built muscles on my legs. Let's start this off with the truth: I failed PE every year I was in high school. I was "fortunate" to be thin; in reality I was "skinny fat". When I quit smoking and began traveling for work every week that quickly changed. I packed on 25+ lbs on my 5'3" frame in a few months, nearly a 1/4 of my body weight. When I realized this wasn't a phase and that I would have to put in some work I was scared. But then I found Transform180. On my first day the owner Charith and trainer Jay had me doing squats, planks, lunges...things I had never done. I thought I was going to die. I couldn't walk for 2 days. But I kept going. After a few weeks of training with Jay I was able to do things I never thought I could do (deadlifts?!?!) I have a new confidence in my abilities. Jay always encouraged me and never made me feel bad for being weak af. My assignment in Seattle is coming to an end, and the #1 thing I will miss here is Transform 180. Adnan is amazing. It's almost a month since I joined Transform 180 and I'm already seeing results. I've trained with Adnan from the very first day. He is positive and always makes me feel welcome. He is very professional. He's always on time, doesn't waste any of my time during our sessions and every minute is put to use. He has everything plan out for our sessions, I just show up. I really appreciate it. I have always avoided the gym due to fear and judgement of others but I did not sense any of that here. My first day was rough. I was so out of shape. During my assessment I vomit not just once but three times. At one point I was looking for a window in the bathroom to sneak out of but unfortunately there are no windows in the bathroom. There was no judgement from Adnan at all. He kept on encouraging me and reassuring me that this is okay. I almost did not come back the next day but I'm so happy I did. I've been training with Julian Martinez since Oct. 2016. I've lost 20 pounds, 5 inches around my waist, and I'm in the best shape I've been in 10 years. I enjoy training with Colin. I joined Transform 180 in Feb 2018 to strengthen my upper body and to learn proper form. From 3 to 4 months i went from lifting 0lb to 200lb! I joined 180 to become more familiar with weights. My workout choice was always classes and this was a nice change! I definitely saw an improvement in my physique within just a few sessions. I am new believer in weight training! Colin is SUPER nice and a champ for working through my hectic schedule. I never felt judged about my weak little arms. :) Over the moon with the results; I feel stronger and more confident with my body. Also, I really liked the pricing options. I was a little hesitant to train with weights so I just bought a few sessions to start out. I then stepped up to a monthly plan. I would highly recommend! I've been training with Colin at Transform 180 for almost nine months now and really should have reviewed them earlier. Weight training has truly been life changing for me and I could not have done it without them. I was a really book smart kid, but had absolutely no physical aptitude and I had written it all off as things I would never do. But moving to Seattle meant changing to a walking lifestyle, particularly walking by a lot of gyms. After staring at the Transform 180 ad in my building's elevator for enough weeks, I decided to stop waiting for some arbitrary "fit enough to try" point and went next door to sign up. It has been really tough work. Part of that "no physical aptitude" thing is I'm not very coordinated and I have hurt myself a few times over the course of training. But every time, Colin has been understanding and supportive and NOT LET ME GIVE UP. We work different areas, work on getting stronger (so my ankles won't just slip out from under me haha) but safely, at the pace my body sets. If I had been on my own, I wouldn't have stuck with it. If I had been focused just on weight loss, I would've probably given up by now too, as that's a long road. Instead, weight training gives me goals I feel I have more control over than the scale, going up in weight limits and being able to run more miles when I do cardio (because going to weight training has gotten me to use my in-building gym on off days a lot more too!) It has been amazing for my mental well-being too. Sometimes there are bad days in the gym, but I'll get to try again next time. Sometimes there are great days in the gym, but guess what, still gonna have to do it again next time! I've become more aware and confident of what my body can do. The entire atmosphere of this gym is incredibly positive. I feel like everyone there wants you to do well at whatever goal you want and there's no pushiness, no judgement about where ever you are at in fitness right now. Even if I'm having a terrible day, I know the hour I spend in there will be a chance to get away from that stress and focus on doing something for me. It's been worth every penny (by now I've switched to the largest "bulk" pack of sessions, because I really don't see stopping now) and it's a life long investment in my body working its best. read more
