I have been working out here since fall 2019. The staff is very friendly and they take care to demonstrate good form through the variety of motions and exercises. Every trainer is worthwhile. They will gladly customize their programming and planning to meet your level of experience, your comfort, and/or any aches and pains or other concerns you may have. The space is large, unlike some other nearby gyms that have group classes where the members are way too close to be safe. My experience is mostly the group classes, but based on classes I have taken where I happened to be the only one on the schedule, I presume that the one-on-one personal training is also high quality. read more

Belltown Strength & Conditioning is a hidden gem. The classes are a fantastic mashup of cardio and strength training. They're hard, but the kinda hard that pushes you to new levels. The trainers are Strong First certified, so your form is regularly corrected. And speaking of form... My very personal story: I have two herniated discs. A combination of bad genetics and bad training in my twenties left me with a messed up back. By the time I found Hannah's gym I was in no shape to swing a kettlebell (let alone walk up a flight of stairs). I tried to train, but I had to put my membership on hold for a few months while I went through physical therapy. Reason the first BS&C is the literal best: Hannah let me pause my membership until my body was recovered enough to return to class. Fast forward a few months and I was strong enough to walk and do some careful movements. However, I still couldn't lift anything heavier than my cat. Reason the 2nd I heart BS&C: Hannah and her incredible team of trainers helped me modify movements so I could participate in class. They watched my form and made sure I didn't do anything that would aggravate my back. I managed to go from using a cane to taking class regularly once per week. I wanted to push myself, but I knew I still needed a lot of attention so I didn't hurt myself again. I started personal training with Hannah about 4 months ago. Reason the 3rd I'll forever be a BS&C client: Hannah respected my body and its injuries, and found creative ways to strengthen my core without compromising my lower back. Now I'm up to 4 classes a week. I have a confidence and strength I never thought I'd have again, and it's all thanks to the incredible trainers at Hannah's gym. If you're recovered (or recovering) from an injury, this is the place to start training again. And if you've never gone to a gym before, or are afraid of being made fun of, or just generally uncomfortable in sweaty rooms with strangers... BS&C's small classes and attentive trainers will make you feel safe and get you back to full strength. read more

I have only been here once so far for a kettlebell class with Hannah and really liked the class (and I was sore for the next 4 days!) It was a little difficult to find the studio as the Google map doesn't give you the right entrance, so make sure you go early for the class so that you can start it on time! The kettlebell class I went had 6 people in total, Hannah was very hands-on and attentive to everyone, and she corrected our form to make sure we don't get injury. I really enjoyed the class and it was an effective work out, highly recommend to people who are looking for a good work out session! read more

I am middle aged. I have shoulder and arm injuries from falling off my bike and attempting crossfit 10+ years ago - I'm injury prone! I had lifted weights no more than once a year before I joined Belltown Strength and Conditioning a year ago. One year in, I know how to lift, how to work with kettlebells, and I'm in so much better shape than I was. They've been amazingly helpful at helping me get stronger without aggravating my old injuries. I'm much, much stronger, my shoulders feel better than ever, and I haven't missed a day due to injuries. If you want to get in better shape, no matter your body shape or age, I would highly, highly recommend joining this gym. read more

Attended a great Barbell Strength class here. As a newbie to weight lighting, Hannah and the other class participants were all very friendly and super helpful in showing me proper form and what to do. With Hannah's assistance, I never felt intimidated by what we were doing and was able to push myself when I could. If I were a local, this would definitely be one of the gyms I consistently go to. Facility has plenty of strength training equipment. There's also a bathroom, but no shower or water cooler. Gym is a little bit hard to find, so make sure you plan ahead. read more

This place is exactly what me and my fiance are looking for. This gym is small and intimate, but it has all the necessary weights and equipment you need for a successful, rewarding workout. The people working there knew individuals by name and made a point to greet everyone when they walked in. My fiance and I attended their introduction to kettlebell class. Hannah, our instructor, was so attentive to us given our inexperience. We covered a wide range of exercises that incorporated the full body. It was a 45 minute class, but boy it was definitely a workout! We definitely want to go back to build upon these skills and improve our form. Note: You do have to ring a doorbell to get inside, which is kind of outputting. But small price to pay for such an awesome place! read more

** Giving 4 out of five stars since in my quest for the perfect place I almost picked other businesses that included a nutritional meal plan. It's not a deal breaker obviously- however it would be nice for the members that pay for the most expensive package for 350.00 a month here to have that perk as well. I found this place about 5 months ago and absolutely love it. The first week free promotion got me in the door to see if this was something I would like. After checking into about 7 different gyms/personal trainers I kept coming back to this spot. I decided the best fit for me would be Kettlebell training. I hate cardio on a treadmill, stair master, or boot camp type workout. It's boring and I dread it. For reasons I can't explain the cardio I receive from these small group workouts are perfect. I prefer the full 350.00 package which includes any class due to my crazy schedule. I have only taken classes from Hannah and Shannon so far .. both are the best for my training regimen. I'm very picky with my trainers and hair stylists. I look for personable, skilled, and positive when I decide on something so important for my health. Does anyone smile anymore?! Never have I ever felt like I didn't belong here since this place is very welcoming to all types of members. I knew what I didn't want in a gym after the Groupon expired at Ballard Crossfit. The trainers here take the time to adjust if you have injuries, explain the exercise when I forget, and deliver challenging workouts with a smile. I love this place and Hannah is very flexible with my transportation issues. She just is happy that I made it even though I'm late. Other places could care less after your monthly payment is made. So I've been training for the majority of my life! I've transitioned these past couple of years from a bodybuilding/powerlifting style to more functional fitness and that's what initially led me here to Hannah! She posts amazing, educational content on Instagram so I wanted to train in person at her gym. I have to say, she is the definition of an "expert". I got more out of an hour training session with her than I had anywhere else in the past couple of years. The way she breaks down movements both safely & efficiently is unbelievable. She understands movements better than anyone I've ever worked with and she helps bring proper technique to all body types. She's patient, thorough and thoughtful with every aspect of the training. I love going to this gym! It's has a good mixture of cardio/HIIT and strength classes. Hannah, Karla and other instructors are super friendly and focus on form a lot. All of the instructors are motivating and have such a passion about making sure you understand the purpose of the movement and that you are doing things correctly! I recently had surgery twice and am unable to do a lot but they have modified everything for me and tailored the workouts when I come. This has made it so easy to keep moving and stay on track even while I am healing. I really appreciate the time they take to explain the workouts too! Love this spot! All of the instructors, especially Hannah, are fantastic. They walk you through each move and correct form as needed. The workouts vary but revolve around kettlebell-based movements. The gym is small, but spacious enough for the usual size of class. It also makes it more one-to-one training depending on the time of day. read more

This place is overall great, freaking awesome. One star less because they changed their schedule to include more running/ cardio only classes and less strength classes (their strength classes usually include cardio to get heart rate up.) I avoid running at all cost. Lol. They care about your form. There is no pressure to do heavier weights. You do learn at the classes. Classes are small and intense. Folks are friendly. Gym is modern and clean. Workouts focus on the whole body. I get a good back and butt workout regularly from here. This is great from sitting around all day. read more

The Belltown Strength is a fantastic gym. All of the coaches are knowledgable, attentive, supportive and badass. There's focus on form, which when lifting wieghts, is so important to prevent injuries. The classes are all small group classes, so there's great indiviualized feedback and you see gamiliar faces, which makes a great workout community. Personally, I use the gym to cross train for running, biking, backpacking and cross country skiing and I've never felt stronger or more confident. Another huge plus, the coaches are highly adept at adpating workouts around a recovering injury or issue. It's great to know that I can get in a safe workout even during recovery. read more

BSC challenged me, pushed me and enabled me to become the strongest form of myself. The Strongfirst training methods they use help form the basis of form and function of an exercise before adding weight. The coaches are diligent in recognizing first timers and members that need refreshers or tweaks during an exercise or class. This gym is welcoming, clean and it doesn't matter if the class is 4 strong or 16 strong I still felt like I had the coaches attention along with everyone else. The attitude of the gym is welcoming and inclusive, it doesn't matter if its day 1 or day 1001, if you showed up to work out, everyone is supportive. I had never experience a gym like this before. Hannah and team are by far some of the best coaches and trainers I have experienced in Seattle/WA and around OR/CA. I can't wait to see how they expand and grow in the area. read more

By far the best gym I've ever been to. This place completely changed my outlook on what I was physically capable of. Hannah is an amazing, fun and caring instructor/owner. The classes are hard, but you can go out your own pace and use whatever weights you want. All of the instructors put together great/different workouts for every single class based on who is there and what they're capable of. The kettlebell classes are great for strength conditioning and the boot camps are a great way to get a ton of cardio in. Definitely check this place out! read more

This place has a friendly vibe and the instructors focus on correct form more than the number of repetitions. They work on building strength first and then pushing yourself to get stronger. The instructors are well trained and the class length is not too big which gives a more personal training feel to it. I have been working out at this gym with kettlebells for 6 months and this is the strongest I have been in my adult life. It is great for beginners (I had never picked up a kettlebell before) as well as athletes. Hannah is amazing at customizing the workouts for your level. It is a supportive environment that focuses on strength and proper form as opposed to merely weightloss or high reps. It is a very efficient workout, combining strength training and cardio into an amazing 45 minute workout. If you are a beginner, give yourself some time to learn how to do the kettlebells properly, I attend 3-4 times a week and after only 2 months I already could feel my back pain lessen and see an amazing difference in strength and muscle tone. I found Hannah's gym 8 months ago on a whim when I lived in Belltown and was searching for a good workout class. I now live in Shoreline but I still come to Belltown Strength & Conditioning for class several times a week. Hannah has recruited a stellar group of trainers who are Strong First certified and focus on your form, recommending modifications when needed. The classes are small in size and give you a good mix of strength building and cardio. I always leave feeling accomplished and stronger than when I arrived. Hannah and her team have gone out of their way to ensure they are helping me reach my goals. From support in class to encouragement on social media, they are consistently cheering on progress. Whether you are just starting your fitness journey and looking for welcoming place to start, or well into your fitness regime and need a challenge, I would highly suggest coming to a class. I want to preface this review with the fact that I have never been a fan of lifting heavy things. Given that background it's surprising how much I love going to Belltown Strength. As a relative weakling, I was nervous about attending Kettlebell classes, however the instructors (Hannah and Anna) are incredibly welcoming and accommodating to every level - even if that means that I've been learning a lot of the moves without said Kettlebells to make sure I have my form correct before doing anything more strenuous. When I had an injury, Hannah tailored my workout to avoid causing any more stress, which meant an individualized program within a group environment. The studio is really clean and has a good energy, and they play awesome music! Not many things get me up and exercising at 6am, but the Kettlebells and Yoga class on Tuesday is worth the early start. As a complete beginner, I cannot recommend these guys more. I'm actually looking forward to lifting more and heavier things through the year! read more
