I went here for three years while I lived in Seattle and went to just about every class at some point whenever my work or school schedule changed. Every instructor has been welcoming, highly competent, and teaches you something new. I was able to quit all my other physical activities and stay in pretty great shape just coming here, despite my terrible dietary habits. Even the virtual workouts the team put together during the worst months of the COVID shutdown kept me fit, and probably kept me sane as well. Gym culture is key in a martial arts gym and I can tell you that everyone here is helpful, friendly, and willing to challenge you in a way that is respectful and builds you up without ever being uncomfortable or risky. There can also be some variation depending on who you work with for partner drills, especially when the class is full, but having been both a total rookie and a veteran I can tell you there is always something to work on - technique, speed, power, adjusting for reach etc. The key is coming back, working with someone new, and continuing to improve. Instructors will make extra time for you when you are new. Be aware that this is a gym and there is definitely seasonality - early spring it can get full, early fall there tends to be a lot of new members, many of whom are new to Seattle (I assume recent grads). A Perfect place for personal training or Kick Boxing stopped by Axtion club as it was a block away from my Condo. I needed some therapy and rebuilding of my knee. This was 2 years ago. As a life time athlete and an outdoor person but in-between multiple injuries, I really needed some good quality care. David has been a god send! He provided a very personalized service that fits your body structure and your capabilities. He has slowly helped me build my muscles where I am able to walk and enjoy the outdoors without taking any pain killers. You always go through ups and downs, David is always there to cheer you up and motivate you to see what is possible. I went through double stem cell treatment because of David's encouragement. My friend and I were extremely disappointed coming here. We signed up for the class through class pass. My friend and I initially thought that it might be fun to take a boxing class because we never had. We tried reading a description on the class pass site but it was vaguely described. Certainly, it didn't say that it was an intermediate/advanced class. So when we arrived and found out that it was a more advanced class... we looked at each other ready to bail. The instructor, David assured us that he would put us on the side and give us more instruction since we were already there and might have well get a work out. Without any instruction, everyone just started to jump rope. I get that everyone there were probably regulars but it would have been nice what their warm up procedures were, after all, it is a class. The warm up was fine but then came the boxing portion... He gave a quick demonstration on what we were suppose to do and then disappeared. For people who have never boxed in their lifetime, a quick two second instruction just does not help people learn. I'm sure that the other students could pick it up no problem, but he knew that we were novices at boxing. He could have spent a little time while people were practicing to help us. Instead, he was somewhere else. He didn't bother to correct our form or provide us with any insight in terms of what we were doing right. We felt really lost and confused as to what we were suppose to do. Another student tried to teach us but then our instructor told him to focus on his own exercise and that he would teach us. However, we kept waiting and waiting for him to help. When it came time to doing another boxing move, he finally stopped by. However, both my friend and I are super slow at learning because again, this was our first time. He looked really annoyed with us that we weren't getting it right. I've had great fitness instructors who tried took the time to quickly teach us and then revisit after helping other students. After trying to "help" us for the 2 minutes, he practically gave up and ignored us the rest of the time. In total, he probably invested 2 minutes in teaching us, one on one (30 seconds of that time was him sternly telling us to put away the practice gloves. We didn't put them away because we thought we would be using it again.) Finally, I got so frustrated from getting such little instruction that I told him that this class was too advanced for us and that we should leave. He told us that we could just go to the corner and punch the punching bag. Since my friend wanted to stay, I stayed. So for 15 more minutes, we were just basically in the corner repetitively punching a punching bag. The instructor could have bothered to stop by and give us some pointers in terms of learning how to punch correctly. I felt like we were the dumb little kids put into the corner of the room because we were the remedial learners. He clearly could see that we didn't know what we were doing but just ignored us and walked to all his regular students to give them instruction. I get that he has other students to tend to but come on, it doesn't take that much effort to go out of your way to patiently teach someone. I felt completely unwelcome and out of place being at this gym. We learned nothing. We walked away never wanting to come back. read more

I had high hopes for this gym based on reviews. Bought a pass to try out their Muay Thai 101 class. There was hardly any space to move due to the sheer number of bodies. The instructor couldn't reach all people due to the same reason. Thankfully I had a very supportive partner who helped wade me through basic movements. Moving on to the next place. read more

I went here based on a recommendation from a friend. I did not have any expectations. The class was really big (18 people) for a 101 Muay Thai/ kickboxing class. Turns out many of the people in the class have been doing the class for months. The floors were disgusting: sweat puddles, drops....and body hair. Very little instruction. They told me to watch youtube to learn to hand wrap. Note, online it was indicated they have max 14 people to a class - not true. Space is small. I feel that you come here to have a work out - ala a gym class - there were situps, elbow planks, burpees, mountain climbers and etc every few minutes after kicking pads with a partner. So kicking and then floor exercises. Warm up was 5 minutes jumping rope. It's literally a work out...that's it. Based on the workout last night, if you want to actually learn a new skill, technique or good form this NOT the place. The amount of instruction was very little - eg 1 minute explaination to the class then the instructor disappeared to reappear again to tell me I'm doing everything wrong or that I was somehow to know something that was not explained in the 1 minute demo. It felt a bit condescending and unwelcoming. I wished I took pictures of the body hair on the floor to share. I'm still grossed out. Note, I've taken some krav maga on the east coast (and tkd years ago) - this was not shared with the instructor. I just remember those experiences were different; I learned something. I did the 1-month Groupon here. Axtion is great for super tough workouts, and they're surprisingly addictive. If you're looking to get in the best shape of your life, this very likely would do it. The instructor is great - friendly, takes the time to get to know people, and pushes you to challenge yourself. I did boxing and muay thai classes. I prefer the boxing, and found it to be a tougher workout, but muay thai is fun too. Depending on how fit you are to begin with, the first 2 to 5 workouts will be very tough. But after that you'll get better conditioned and be able to do classes two days in a row or back-to-back double classes if you want. The boxing classes are great for developing core strength (abs, trunk, lower back, etc) - and that's something people often forget or neglect when they're doing other types of exercise. I've also been to Cappy's a few times, and Axtion doesn't have the hardcore feel of Cappy's where you almost feel like you're walking into Rocky's gym; but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's more fitness oriented, since it's smaller and doesn't have the sparring ring that Cappy's has. But you get really good instruction and learn proper technique. It is pretty pricey (120/month or 17/class if you do the 6 visit punchcard) so it's tough to justify if you already have other gym memberships (there's no way I'll give up my climbing gym) and are pretty self motivated. But, if you were considering joining a gym and paying for a personal trainer, Axtion would get you a better workout at probably almost the same price. There's also an option to get a punchcard instead of a monthly unlimited membership, so that could be worth it as a supplement to other activities. read more

I am addicted to Muay Thai @ Axtion Club. Honestly, if I were more of a morning person I would probably spend at least 3 hours a day training at Axtion. Realistically though, I don't have the discipline for early morning workouts so I come here in the evenings. The classes are large enough that you have someone to partner up with but small enough that you get some personal attention from your trainer. The workouts are intense but do not leave you aching for days & fearing your return. The gym is small and there are not a lot of frills. It is a great place to get in, work out, and get on with your day. There are varying levels of experience & strength but everyone works together nicely and the atmosphere, although focused during the workouts, is very friendly and welcoming. I bought the Groupon to try this place out and it was very effective and hard. The workouts are tough and probably not for beginners so much. However David the owner is very nice and wiling to help along with the other class patrons. (Yes there are a lot of good looking people in these classes) I did only the boxing classes and it is more of 50/50 boot camp/boxing but, the boxing part is a lot of fun. I feel the prices are also reasonable. Only a few negatives 1. parking is not ideal since it is street parking around the gym 2. They do limit the class sizes which is good but, it is hard to make a reservation unless you plan a day ahead. Overall I recommend this gym for the overall mid-fit type person. read more

I love Axtion club!! I attend David's Core Class during my lunch break and its the perfect pick-me-up for the mid-day blues! He will whip you into shape and you will have a lot fun in the process! The workouts are generally high in intensity but don't let that intimidate you, your body will adapt after a few classes, which is the point, right?! David will help you out and show you alternate ways to doing certain exercises and he is also a great encourager to keep on pushing yourself through the exercises! My only worry about making this a 5 star is that everybody will find out and it will lose the personal touch!! LOL... This is by far the best workout I have ever had. I have been a member of almost every gym ( 24 hr, Golds, Bally's, etc.., etc..) and they don't come close to the workout you get here. Okay, so don't have TV's or machines to work on but trust me you will see the difference in your muscle groups. David (owner) is incredible. Like previous posts have indicated, he is experienced, motivator, communicator and just plain fun. He will work out with you and attend to your special needs. He also will push you to your fullest. They say that people are 12 times more likely to talk about their negative experiences than their positive experiences. In a time where praise is fleeting, I decided to sign up for a Yelp account and give props to the businesses I love. First up - Axtion Club. In the world of boxing, it's not easy to find a gym that's not filled with "tough guys." You know the guys I'm talking about: the stoic faced, slow walking dudes that want to show the world that they're the Rocky Balboa of the boxing gym. These dudes have ruined many a boxing gym for me. Getting stuck doing mitt work with a "tough guy" is absolutely horrible. They take things too seriously and forget that boxing should be fun. At Axtion, I'm yet to meet a single person that I didn't like. To David's credit, he has really created an environment without egos. Everyone is incredibly supportive, and it's pretty obvious from the moment you walk in the door. On my first day, some dudes in the class stayed late to show me how to improve my punches. Everyone seems to want to help you be a better boxer. They'll show you when you're dropping your gloves (if not, I guarantee you David will). They'll let you know when you're throwing weak punches or your form is bad. When you arrive for your first class, you'll probably struggle with putting on your handwraps. There's a picture on the wall that shows you how it's done. If you're still struggling, just ask another member for help. I'd bet green money that anyone would be happy to help. Like any boxing class, you'll start the class with a 20-minute warm-up (skipping rope, mountain climbers, medicine ball work, push-ups, squats, etc.). After you feel like you couldn't possibly sweat any more, you'll move on to bag work and mitt work. When David calls out the punching combinations, he'll say something like, "1-2-3." If you're new to boxing, it's probably a good idea to learn the numbers assigned to each punch. If you don't know what the punches look like--don't worry--David will show you proper technique. He's a great instructor and will work with you to continually improve your form. Once you feel like you couldn't possibly throw another punch to save your life, you'll move on to some ab work (v-ups, sit-ups, medicine ball stuff, etc.). After that, you'll do some stretching and head out the door. Overall, I'd highly recommend Axtion Club to anyone - regardless of your level of fitness. So, if you're on the fence about boxing, just drop in for a class and try it out. I can assure you that you won't regret it. I'll see you there. read more

David Jofrey is more than a great coach; he is also a great human being. He gives a tough workout, and you WILL be sweating! You will also learn a lot. Most gyms stick to very basic combinations, but David's really make you think. You will be stretched in many ways, both physically and mentally. And the people are pretty friendly, as well! I never leave reviews unless I truly deem it necessary, and reading some of the negative comments, I want to discredit them. I joined 3 weeks ago, and since I joined and I can already tell the difference. I don't run out of breath while walking up stairs, my lower back hasn't been hurting as much, my posture is improving, and all around health is doing so much better. I'm still in the 101 classes, since I am a beginner. But don't be fooled, just because it is a 101 class doesn't mean you're not going to work out HARD! This isn't an aerobics class at your regular old gym, this is some serious training. David is great at challenging you and working with you at whatever level you are at. Even through a small shoulder injury he made sure I was modifying workouts. If you are serious about getting a great workout in while having fun, this is it! Recently moved to Seattle and was looking for a place for a good workout. I've been training in Muay Thai kickboxing for several years. (Used to train at Urijah Faber's Ultimate Fitness in Sacramento) I found Axtion Club (nearby my apartment) and decided to give it a try (also recommended by a co-worker). First, if you are looking for a gym to train on becoming the next UFC champion-- this is not for you. This is not a fighting gym. However this is a GREAT place to get a workout... get a sweat... and practice technique. David -- is quite knowledgable in Muay Thai techniques. He is also thoughtful in his instruction... and runs a solid gym. Once again... if you feel the need to mash and destroy others then you need to stay away (the majority of students are there to get into shape not fight). With that said, I will say the handful of advance students I have shared a class with are pretty good. read more

I signed up for month trial. I went to 2 muay thai classes with John; they were superb - thoroughly went over the kicks, punches, pad holding, stances and combos. Then I tried out a 101 Boxing class .....there was NO instruction and an expectation of you would know what to do...even when there were odd numbers in partners - for the first boxing class at this gym and ever, I guess they just expect you to know the basics and what to do. Or expect you to be lost and eventually figure it out should you give it another try. Total fail. CONCLUSION: For a 101 boxing class, complete waste of time and resources. Watching Rocky would give me better boxing instruction than this gym. This class looked advanced/ intermediate. For muay thai, this place is awesome. I give 5 stars for the muay thai classes and -3 stars for the Boxing 101 class. I felt completely out of place for boxing. I could see how Grace's review from 5/16/15 can still apply to this class for boxing. DO NOT COME HERE FOR BOXING. read more

The teacher and staff created a very welcoming environment and it's always something I look forward to each week. The first time I went, the instructor was very helpful with making sure that I had correct form and took time to make sure I understood the combinations. I never felt too intimidated to speak up and ask questions. This class is challenging enough that it gets you sweating a lot and makes you push yourself without overdoing it. I would strongly recommend attending a class at Axtion Club - regardless of your fitness level. read more

Exercise, in many forms, has been a consistent aspect of my life since I got out of the Army 8 years ago. Since then, I've been a runner, a weightlifter, a swimmer, a Crossfitter, and now an aspiring boxer. Out of all my exercise endeavors - military included - I'd have to give David's boxing program at the Axtion Club the highest marks in terms of results and enjoyment. He incorporates an aerobic, functional movement-based workout into the already aerobic - and highly addictive - sport of boxing, which together equal A LOT OF SWEAT! The boxing classes are divided into two parts: 1. A "warmup" period consisting of primarily bodyweight-resistance-type exercises, such as squats, jumping, pushups, and ab-work (using the term "warmup" loosely here, as its the warmest you'll ever get from one), and 2. A boxing segment that includes shadowboxing, mittwork, and bagwork. He strikes a good balance between the two, as just as you are getting ready to say you'll never do another push-up in your life, he transitions to the more enjoyable sport of boxing. The fact that classes include bodyweight-resistance exercises is also important: I've found that programs such as Crossfit or weightlifting, which incorporate the use of artificial weight, greatly increase one's risk of acute muscle injury. Similarly, strict running and other cardio-intensive workouts tend to increase the risk of repetitive stress injury. On the other hand, the variability of Axtion's cardio workouts, without the use of barbells or machines, is a testament to its safety and sustainability (in contrast to what one Yelper wrote below). In addition to the structure of the program, David is a truly enjoyable instructor, who brings a high level of warmth, positive energy, and humor to the program. It's hard to understand any reviews to the contrary, but then again I guess the world is made up of all types. Perhaps Carmen K. below would have fared better at home with an ice pack on her ankle than jump-roping in a boxing studio, but to each their own... Overall, I'd highly recommend David's program to anyone that wants to combine a serious but safe cardio workout with the thrill of boxing! read more

I bought a 1-month living social coupon and attended the 6:30 Friday boxing class. First off, the gym is pretty small but it's well kept and clean. That was a pro - and that was the only pro I noticed while I was there. We walked in slightly late but people were still just getting warmed up on the jump rope. The instructor acted exasperated and told us we had to get there earlier next time. Fair enough. Filled out paper work and then we grabbed a jump rope to join the group. Yes, the warm up drills were hard. Lots of jump ropes, push ups, and agility training. Here's what REALLY rubbed me the wrong way - while this guy may be a great boxer in his spare time, he did not act like a fitness coach or instructor in ANY WAY. First thing I noticed was he never once asked us if we have any injuries so that he could provide modifications (I have an ankle injury that I made worse because I didn't want to be called out for not going along with the group). 2nd mistake for me was that he didn't ask us if we had boxing experience or if we've ever done boxing before. While my girl friend was a novice, I've actually been boxing one-on-one with a boxing trainer for over a year. During boxing drills, he was trying to teach me a 1-2 punch I've been doing for over 12 months. It was a little ridiculous. If he had just taken the time to ask those simple questions, the class may have gone very differently. In addition to these pitfalls, my girl friend asked the instructor how to wrap her hands or for help - he wordlessly pointed to a poster with a diagram on how to do it. Really? Would it have taken more than 2 seconds to teach her how to do it? At least, help her and explain after class. Well, she ended up guessing how to do it and hurt her finger. I must have had a VERY different experience from these 5 star reviews or the people reviewing must have been classified in the "favorites" category for the instructor because he paid us no mind whatsoever. He taught us NOTHING. As I mentioned, I have boxed before but if I hadn't, I would have definitely injured myself. Also, no spare boxing gloves or wraps are available. What sort of boxing club doesn't have some spares? So weird. At the end of the day, I got a sweat but basically because I pushed myself and it wasn't anything I couldn't have done without the instructor. I basically hit a heavy bag on my own and jumped rope. I think having to post both a groupon and living social coupon within the a 12-month period speaks volumes to how a business is doing - if they were retaining customers from the first deal, why would they need a second deal to get more people in? Especially with such a small space? I am definitely not getting my money's worth on this one but I was made so uncomfortable and injured myself through their carelessness that I won't be returning to Axtion Club. Wish things had gone differently since I'm passionate about boxing but alas, this was a no go. If you want a good sweat and are injury free, you can go ahead and give it a whirl but I think you would get the same results as a group class at 24 hour fitness or another gym. If you are trying to learn how to box, improve your skills, or have any injuries (specifically your joints) - proceed with extreme caution. read more

This place is great, I came in never taking a single boxing class in my life and the instructors noticed this right off the bat ( I was THAT bad). They were so patient with me and took me aside for a one on one for the entirety of the class to make sure I knew the basics. I tried Boxing 101 ( which claimed it was for all levels) from class pass and it was very disappointing. This gym should not advertise to be with class pass because it is clear they only care about their members. Do not go here if you have never done boxing before and want to learn! The instructor/owner David was rude and unhelpful during the whole class. At one Point the lady working the front desk and him laughed at my friend and I for not knowing how to use the pads correctly and made us feel very unwelcome. I bought a Groupon or LivingSocial deal for this gym for 20 classes with some people at work. I started off going to the boxing classes, but quickly switched over to the MMA classes, which are (in my opinion) way more fun! These classes are never crowded like the boxing classes often are, and they include a full-body workout as opposed to just upper body. These workouts are tough; be warned. You can definitely tailor them to your abilities by going slower, but be prepared to be pushed to your limits. Also, I have a relatively low pain tolerance (so keep that in mind), but the first time kicking the hanging punching bags was rough - my shins were completely purple the next day (which, let's be honest, looks so cool). If you are looking for a very efficient, HARD workout, you will definitely get it here! David is awesome once you get to know him. I am pretty shy, so I don't look for attention, but it would have been better to get tips on technique instead of blindly kicking and punching. I can imagine that this could be frustrating if you do not learn physical activities quickly. However, he has been extremely helpful these last few weeks. I've been coming here regularly about four months now. I went from "let's just try something new" to loving boxing and trying to come at least four times a week. This place is great. I'd say this is probably one of the hardest workout classes that I've done (and I was a college athlete and have tried almost every workout craze on the market). You can certainly scale the workout down if it's too difficult and the hour goes by really fast. David usually works with beginners in the first class to go over the different punches and combinations. Make no mistake, this is where you come if you want your butt kicked. I found this place as a closest to my office so I can get in there before work. Classes at 7:00 am and 8:00 am make it possible! I love boxing. It is excellent work out, I tried to go to gym, but it's so booooooring I couldn't go far than 2-3 consequent months. Though David's classes are structured in the same order, every class is different: new exercises and boxing elements. This will be perfect choice for every one. If you are just looking for workout - it's perfect choice, if you want to learn or improve your boxing skills - it's still the best choice. There are boxing and muay thai classes, so you can always try both and even mix them. David is a really cool instructor and he's really helpful. Don't listen to the people who were late their first class and then complain about no attention to new comers. On the official web site there is useful information for those who are first time: "If it's your first time at Axtion Club, please try to arrive ten minutes early. This will give you time to sign our waiver, buy gear if needed, and get your hands wrapped for Boxing, Muay Thai, or MMA Workout." There is all necessary equipment and David just renewed some of that! I recommend this place. David makes every class motivating, fun and tough! Update: I continued taking boxing classes for next two years until I had to move to a different state. David's boxing and Muay Thai classes are awesome. I'm 50 minutes in on my class workout at axtion. I'm pouring sweat and I'm pushing hard to finish bag work... Suddenly I notice that I am beaming with the biggest most sincere smile- I'm smiling because of the energy my classmates are releasing and I'm smiling because it's the first time in years I have gotten my body back to a point where I feel strength. Based upon my long term experience with trainers I have gotten to a place where I notice change in my body but David has given me an experience much deeper than just noticing a physical change. I am the type of person that struggles with endurance and breathing. If I find a set that I feel is too difficult I tend to resist in finishing the task. Sometimes after getting to know a trainers routine I will think about that one set that I just dread doing. After 10 minutes of cardio my breathing is so sporadic that I feel weak. My experience at axtion has changed all of these personal challenges that I have struggled with for such a long time. David has a different method of training. He focuses on developing workouts that can be accomplished without straining your body. For example, instead of giving a specific number of sets he sees how far you can go and he is so focused on your development so that you feel empowered, accomplished and safe. He notices the small things that can get you to the next level. For example, during every exercise that we did he showed me HOW to breathe and he did it with me so that I was constantly reminded until it became second nature. Most importantly he never let me give up, although there were times that I wanted to, I knew that I would not injure myself and that it would be beneficial to my development. When he introduced an exercise he would explain what specific muscle I would be targeting. It gave me motivation to finish so that I could get the result. His kindness, positive attitude and passion for fitness are additional bonuses. During my summer stay in Seattle I am the most grateful that I came across this gym. I truly believe that David is an extraordinary trainer and no matter what level you are at physically you can benefit tremendously at this gym. It was the most wonderful start to many of my days. I am leaving with such a better understanding of how my body works and the internal potential I have to keep working at goals and meeting them. read more

I've been going here for a while. The thing I like most about Axtion is that you have control over how hard you push yourself. Although the this is a gym that trains people to fight, nobody is going to put you in a position that is unsafe or too far above your skill level. Most importantly the workouts are hard, the atmosphere is relaxed, and people are friendly. It will be difficult for you if you don't workout regularly for the first month or so, but stick with it. Love this place so much. I've been going here for three years and the workouts never get easier. David is an incredibly enthusiastic and challenging instructor. The gym gets very warm inside so you don't ever get a pulled muscle. It's an intense one hour work out with optional sparring in the last three minutes. The fellow boxers and work out enthusiasts are very friendly and respectful, I think David attracts a diverse group of people that are dedicated to going to the gym as well as many new faces. Only go to this gym if you want to see a serious improvement on your physique and health. Also the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

I originally joined this club for the BJJ for it's no gi. Having done traditional Gi BJJ at a different place off and on for about 2 years I've come to realize that it isn't for everyone, BJJ is definitely an ego bruiser and has a very high turnover rate. Sometimes you don't realize how much you know until you start rollin' with new training partners. This helped me realize the progress I have made. The instructor, Fred really knows his stuff. He rolls with his students regardless of experience. I like how this class incorporates more stand up/wrestling/take downs than what most traditional BJJ places offer. In addition to the BJJ, I like how this club offers variety. I tried the boxing classes and was immediately hooked. David is an excellent instructor and is great at giving you tips at what you need work on. I started with the BOXING 101 since I had no previous taught experience, but then David suggested I start doing the regular BOXING classes. Both are equally challenging. I would say the Boxing 101 class focuses more on conditioning and technique (learning the punches 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc). Once your conditioning and technique is on par, I would definitely give the regular boxing classes a try. I do like the regular boxing classes for the sparring session at the end (optional for those that want to). It's a real controlled environment where everyone in the class doesn't try to rip each others heads off. I've checked out a few other MMA gyms, and needless to say, Axtion Club is by far not as testosterone driven as the others. The sparring sessions help you put what you learned in class into real 'axtion'. This is where you can figure out what works and what doesn't work for your specific style of boxing without getting all banged up. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I signed up for a month to test the classes, and I have been going pretty regularly, twice a week, for about five months. I really like the welcoming atmosphere, diversity with people from all over the world, and being pushed to go beyond your preconceived limits. This gym is great! It's a great environment with friendly and helpful instructors. The Brazilian jiu jitsu program is particularly fun with a great group of students and a knowledgeable and experienced instructor! No egos in this gym! read more

I've just completed my second week of boxing class at Axtion Club and I LOVE IT! I have boxed before but it's been about 10 years. David is very welcoming, a great trainer and instructor. I was looking for a workout that would challenge me and David delivers. He corrects my form, shows me how to modify when I need it and encourages me to go for it when I slow down. The club is clean and minimal. If you're looking for fluff go somewhere else. You will use your body, a jump rope, a heavy bag and a medicine ball AND feel great when you're done. One of the things I have always loved about boxing is you can't think about anything else while you're doing it. Your mind gets a break while you focus on just one thing. You really ought to check this out. He offers other workouts, too. My partner loves his Muay Thai class! read more

I love axtion club! I've been coming for a few months and like it more and more each time. At first i was intimidated, frustrated, and ready to throw in the towel--if you're new to boxing, the first couple classes are hard, and nobody will baby you. It's fast-paced and there's a variety of skill levels, BUT if you stick with it, you'll quickly get the hang of it, meet awesome people, and get in great shape. it's my favorite way to destress after work, and i'm so happy i stuck it out! read more

I was attending Axtion Club for more than a year. If you are looking for a challenge, awesome cardio and improving your skills - that is a place to go. I read a couple of negative reviews here... Well, if you're looking just to have some fun, relax and do nothing - definitely this is not a place for you. I came here with zero boxing knowledge. David taught me the basics and I can say that David is one of the best instructors I ever seen. Yes, David won't spend with you half of the training. Watch at other folks, practice, be patient. And eventually you'll see the result. This is not an easiest workout. It might be hard and challenging. But if you want to loose some weight, train your endurance and cardio - this is the best place I have ever seen. Five stars out of five. read more

I first started going to classes at Axtion club in August 2011 after buying a groupon. I was hooked after my first class and have been coming consistently since! Before starting at Axtion club, boxing and muay thai seemed intimidating and too hard core for me, however the intimate class size was the perfect introduction. In the 9 months I have been coming to the gym class sizes have ranged from 2 people to 12 people, but never an overwhelming amount. It is great to get the one on one attention needed to perfect your skills and push you further than you thought you could go. I had been running and working out at a gym before this, but these classes were much more challenging and worked out more muscles in an hour than my workout. David (the instructor) does a good job of mixing the classes up and working out different muscle groups to get a full body workout. I would highly recommend this club for anyone who is looking to change up their current workout, try something new, or learn the techniques in boxing. read more
