The first time we came to the free trial we didn't pay attention to come to class 15 mins early so when we arrived 5 mins early we didn't have enough time to get a run down of what to expect. Make sure you don't make our mistake! :) Luckily, coach Andy was so kind and understanding. He allowed us to rebook our free trial and meanwhile while we wait till our next free trial class we can observe the people taking the class. Now the rest is history and we love taking classes here (even without the other partner there). Muok has really catered an inclusive environment for all genders to participate in. Everyone was so patient and kind that it really encouraged me to get better and foster an understanding that everyone starts from somewhere. We can't wait to meet future Muoks that want to join in on this journey of self improvement. Also, if you ever want to hold your account while you go on vacation you can! That's the reason why we love Muok too. We can travel and hold our accounts while knowing that our membership will be waiting for us to come back. Highly recommend anyone to join Muok! Muok is expanding their services to Georgetown starting January 1, 2026. They will include more classes, equipment, and more gym time openings. They are expanding from 2,700 sqft to 9,500 sqft! We are so excited to see the progress Muok has made and can't wait to see the new features at their new gym next year!

It's massive (around 9,000 sq ft), super clean, and actually feels like a complete training facility -- not just a fight gym squeezed into a small space. There's plenty of room to train, plus a full strength and conditioning setup. What really makes this place stand out though is how everything is connected. They have an on-site physical therapy clinic that accepts insurance, which is honestly rare and incredibly useful whether you're rehabbing something or just trying to stay healthy. They also partner with Root Strength, and that's where things get really interesting. The whole model is built around combining strength training with physical therapy, so you're not just getting stronger -- you're doing it in a way that's sustainable and actually tailored to your body. Having that tied directly into a Muay Thai program is something I haven't seen anywhere else. The coaching is excellent. Classes are well-structured, technical, and challenging without being overwhelming. Whether you're new or experienced, you'll get real coaching and not just be left to figure things out. Huge bonus points for the sauna too -- and the fact that the hours actually make it usable. Overall, the vibe is great. No egos, just a solid community of people who want to train and improve. If you're looking for a gym that goes beyond just classes and actually supports your performance and longevity, Muok Boxing is a standout.

Also highly recommend checking out the morning classes if you can wake up for them. The motto here seems to be learn by doing. For starters, there are no egos in the room and that starts at the top with Ryan Bow who has over 20 years as a professional fighter and is still humble and patient. There is truly an environment of cooperation during every practice and that makes it a great experience on top of the great workout. Everyone legitimately wants to help each-other improve and that attitude carries over to every new person that joins. The techniques that are taught are taught in a way that everyone can find valuable, no matter their skill/experience level. If someone picks something up quickly Ryan will add a layer for them. Conversely if someone is struggling he'll distill it down to the base layer until they are comfortable with it. Having been on both ends of that spectrum I've never felt uncomfortable or bored at any time. Finally, the curriculum is perfectly designed to appeal to people of all skill/experience levels. Members vary from people who want to fight professionally to people just looking for a workout with all sorts in between. The variety of skills that are taught are a perfect way to keep everyone learning rather than plateauing, and there is always another belt to work towards.
