A great boxing gym in the heart of Seattle! I've never attended a boxing gym class before, and I had a great time. It's split between half boxing, half strength training, which I really enjoyed. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to get a good workout in!

What a freaking bad A$$ awesome gym! Stumbled upon this place when looking for a place to workout while visiting Seattle! I can't say enough good things about this place! They have thought of everything & do a great job of removing barriers (excuses) to getting in there & getting a workout! You can book classes online on the app, rent wraps & gloves from them, there are stocked showers & towels in the locker room, Literally you just have to show up! The instructors are awesome & so are the workouts! The workouts are challenging but are set up for all levels of fitness. The classes and the music are so fun & time just seems to fly by while you're in the rowdy room! This place is also truly inclusive of all shapes & sizes! The staff is so friendly & did a great job of making me feel welcome every time I came in there. I look forward to coming back to Seattle to workout at rowdy box!

The besssst workout concept executed perfectly. I was only in town for 3 days so I took advantage of their first-time BOGO deal to take two classes - one with Sami and one with Bailey. I arrived early before my first class and was shown around, able to rent gloves, etc. The classes are SPICYYYY, motivating, and the most fun I've ever had sweating in my life. The time truly flies by (minus the moments you kind of feel like you're dying but also kind of don't mind because what an exciting way to go). It's only been like 24 hours since my last class, I'm still hella sore, and I already miss it SO much

I cant say enough good things about this place, besides being a killer work out. The energy of the instructors and classmates is amazing. Everyone who works here is always warm and friendly not to mention how clean the space is and with super nice showers with great products... who could ask for more

Is it possible to be addicted to going to a gym? Rowdybox definitely might be your drink of choice then to see! I have done a lot of fitness class places locally and I always would drag my feet because I didn't feel like running , rowing or just being there sometimes. It is just the opposite at Rowdybox where everyone is friendly and you don't have to run/row at all while still sweating your ass off. The cardio is the fun part because you get to hit something! Basically it is a 10 round circuit class that is half boxing and half anaerobic training for 45 minutes that is designed to be fun. They got an easy to use app to schedule classes and purchase more classes. Most IMPORTANT it is a safe clean environment with required masks, limited class sizes, virtual options, and full cleaning between every class.

This is a totally unique workout experience to Seattle. Half boxing half weights on a bench. They also just added boxing only classes and there's an option to reserve just "the bag" for their regular classes. It's a great way to get into boxing if you have aren't interested in fighting in a ring. The workouts are fast and the music is always jamming. They teach you all you need to know in the warmup and you go through all the punches. There are a variety of weights so if you don't think you will be challenged you are wrong. The programming is great and the coaches demo all the movements. Street parking is easy to find and they also have paid parking in a lot if you reserve beforehand. Wraps and gloves are required and first time they loan you gloves. Sweat towels are provided, but unfortunately the showers are still closed. Everyone is masking still due to Covid. They have a crazy air filtration system so I know it will be safe working out there once mask restrictions are lifted. Give it a try and guarantee you will get hooked.

I've never boxed before, so I wanted to get the basic form down, and Sami gave me helpful corrections and guidance.

I asked for a side of shrimp with my nachos for protein and they had no trouble doing this for me! The nachos were definitely elevated and high quality, so I really appreciated my low class meal at a high class place! Their wine selection is lovely. I got a pinot noir and a glass of prosecco and both were very impressive. Also, I have to note that the bathrooms here are amazing. Super clean and spacious. I will probably come back to meet with my friends here, but don't see myself joining the club or coming back on my own.

I still remember my earliest days of swimming lessons and meeting friends I still have to this day. I remember the amazing annual father-daughter event, my teen years and even coming back after college and seeing the amazing staff who I had known for so long and was able to hear updates on their life as they asked me about mine. I can't say enough about this place. While there, I trained with guys who ended up in the NBA, and personal trainers who were beyond committed to their practice. It was a great place that I would spend time at studying while I waited for my father to wrap up work and then head home for the evening. As someone who's spent the last 10 years on the east coast, its far more rare that I'm able to come through, but when I do I definitely see that east coast club influence. As others have mentioned, the opportunities that the club provides far beyond its actual location should never be ignored. Whenever my parents come back east to visit me, we always try to stop through NYAC and often use the WAC to make all of our reservations, just as you can make theater and event reservations in Seattle and plenty of other cities.

I've been training at Wudang Kungfu for the past 3 years so far. If you are looking for a place…read morewhere you can train forms AND application, within the same gym, this is the best place in Seattle to do it. I have explored lots of different martial arts gyms in the greater Seattle area, and lots of them have different things to offer. However, it was difficult to find traditional Chinese gungfu that is rooted in the culture and practice of Chinese martial arts that also teaches real, effective, full contact application. This is the place to do it! Lu Laoshi and Chang Laoshi are both incredibly knowledgeable, but also down to earth and humble. They really know their stuff, through the historical lineage and practice. There are many amazing non-Chinese instructors of the Chinese martial arts, but I personally appreciate that both head instructors are ethnically and culturally Chinese while also being attuned to western culture and the norms of western students. This is not a school with Japanese style belt progression, or a very hierarchical student culture. Both Instructor Lu and Instructor Chang expect students to think critically for themselves, and for the instruction to make sense because it works, not just because "they say so." If you approach it with an open mind, there is much to learn at this school, no matter your training goals. Chang Laoshi has many years fighting in the ring, testing his application skills in ring fighting, to complement his deep understanding of the traditional forms, and Lu Laoshi has a rich knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine in addition to her martial arts practice. Whether you want to learn internal martial arts for demonstration, cultivate qigong, learn about the culture and history of Chinese martial arts, or spar and compete in sanda full contact ring fighting, this is a place where you can do some or all of those things. There are many places in Seattle where you can learn traditional Chinese gungfu, and internal martial arts. There are also many places that will teach you full contact grappling and striking, for muay thai/BJJ/MMA etc. However, if you are trying to learn both of these dimensions of the martial arts and not just one or the other, this is in my opinion the best place in Seattle for it. You can learn forms, qigong, application, open hand, and weapons, all under one roof and with two deeply qualified instructors. There are places that are probably more "affordable" if you are just looking for the cheapest place to train and get a workout, but in this case, I think the expertise and thoroughness of instruction is more than justified, especially considering the generosity of both instructors when it comes to time and answering questions after official class hours.

My flexibility dramatically improved but also overall body connection/fitness. The chronic pain in my knee completely resolved. If you want to live a long, happy, and healthy life this is the secret! They have many different classes/styles of martial arts that can be practiced, and the masters are amazing at helping you choose the best style to fit your goals. If I had more time I would study as many styles as possible. During my time there I practiced Baguzahang (Circular Boxing), Taijiquan (Tai Chi), and Qigong. A memory that particularly stands out to me was a student who had come from New York just to study at the academy. He told me that he originally heard about it after climbing the Wudang mountain in China looking for a master to train him in the original Wudang Sword Style. He was able to find a master, but the man told him to come to Seattle, WA and study at Wudang academy. This demonstrates the authenticity to their teachings which draw direct lineage to the old masters of Chinese Kung Fu. I originally attended the academy several years ago, before my life became extremely busy and I moved to Chicago. I plan to move back to the area some day and Wudang academy is at the top of my list for activities to prioritize. If I have kids someday, I plan on taking them to the academy. I hope that in the future I will be able to make time to attend again. If my review piques your interest, please attend, and learn more in person. I am a humble student and am no doubt not fully representing the amazing nature of this academy so please go check it out for yourself! -Steven
