I went here for drinks and happy hour with some friends who are members and had a great time. The dining room is a little old fashioned and seemed to attract an older crowd for sure, but I guess that goes along with the high membership fees. The service was great and attentive. I asked for a side of shrimp with my nachos for protein and they had no trouble doing this for me! The nachos were definitely elevated and high quality, so I really appreciated my low class meal at a high class place! Their wine selection is lovely. I got a pinot noir and a glass of prosecco and both were very impressive. Also, I have to note that the bathrooms here are amazing. Super clean and spacious. I will probably come back to meet with my friends here, but don't see myself joining the club or coming back on my own. read more

Love this place, as it holds so many core and truly dear memories for me. It's such an unbelievable place for families. I still remember my earliest days of swimming lessons and meeting friends I still have to this day. I remember the amazing annual father-daughter event, my teen years and even coming back after college and seeing the amazing staff who I had known for so long and was able to hear updates on their life as they asked me about mine. I can't say enough about this place. While there, I trained with guys who ended up in the NBA, and personal trainers who were beyond committed to their practice. It was a great place that I would spend time at studying while I waited for my father to wrap up work and then head home for the evening. As someone who's spent the last 10 years on the east coast, its far more rare that I'm able to come through, but when I do I definitely see that east coast club influence. As others have mentioned, the opportunities that the club provides far beyond its actual location should never be ignored. Whenever my parents come back east to visit me, we always try to stop through NYAC and often use the WAC to make all of our reservations, just as you can make theater and event reservations in Seattle and plenty of other cities. read more

I'm a member and have ebbed and flowed over the years with my usage of the club. I'm in a phase now that hopefully lasts of high usage. The WAC is a place I can get work done, have a healthy meal (or an unhealthy one), workout (they have also added Peloton bikes), steam and sauna, have a colleague or work meeting, or get a room if needed -- all in one place. Great service - the team in the women's locker room and fitness floor are awesome. Clean, comfortable, quiet, relaxing, do a good job with your laundry for workout gear, and just a great place to come. A few years ago I would have given 4 stars but I like that the Club has made changes over the years to improve including expanded hours for the Cafe on 8th floor (great chili and Cobb salad), the opening of 1930 Cafe on the main floor for relaxing and great spaces to get work done open 24/7, ability to book Inn at WAC rooms to work in at super cheap rates, and also addition of cryo-therapy and IV therapy on the spa level. Membership is well worth it if you're considering. The parking is also a great deal for AM and PM usage and parking card at a nice discount. read more

I stayed at the hotel for one night for a leadership conference. I checked in early and was accommodated (thankfully) right next to where the meeting was held. My room was small but still very nice and I had nice view of the water. The bed definitely has seen better years as it was no longer firm and not very comfortable to sleep on. The hotel was nice but I have a couple gripes: 1) There isn't an area when you can get snacks/food late night. They have a sports bar restaurant but it closes at 9pm. There aren't options around the hotel for getting something quick. 2) Pool closes at 8pm which a bummer for those who want to get a late night swim in. read more

I stayed at the Inn at WAC for two nights as a reciprocal member of Los Angeles Athletic Club. My local family- sister, mother and my young niece stayed with me. We all loved the WAC and now I will actually go to Seattle more often to visit. My mom has Parkinson's and the ADA room was perfect for her. We were also able to exercise her in the beautiful pool during the family time slot. I took a couple fitness classes and every instructor was incredible - my family especially adored George - who led the best and funnest dance class I've ever experienced. The food and drink was tasty in the lobby cafe, WAC Cafe, and Torchy's. The staff from the front desk to every floor's attendant and lifeguards to the security guard, were all warm and professional, with incredible WAC stories to share. The members were just wonderful and down to earth as well. The location also can't be beat. Pike's Place Market was only a 10 min walk away. WAC is truly a special place. I have been a member for a year. I joined the club for the classes but fell in love with the people. Every party I have been to has been super fun. The service is outstanding, and it makes up for the slightly dated decor. It's a great family place for events as well. I have organized small company parties at the golf simulator. I have been going to the WAC for 20+ years and it has been 5 star service the entire time. This club is well worth the membership fees for many different reasons. First the athletic facilities are top notch, and rarely ever crowded.The restaurants available are really good and they have something for every occasion (Torchy's for something high end, Haggerty's for something more casual but still sit down and the 8th floor cafe for quality quick bites). The networking opportunities are endless and the membership support is quite strong. Even after so many years I still find myself discovering new benefits that come along with membership, definitely ask about all of the reciprocals! read more

I don't know exactly how i ended up here but i wish i hadn't. I was supposed to stay at the Hyatt up the street, but when i got there they said they were over booked and they were looking for volunteers to stay at their partner Hotel, the WAC for half the rate. "It's an upscale semi-private club, they said"...OK sounds good. I got there and the staff immediately treated me like a burden, like it was my fault I got sent here. They gave me a map of the Hotel and Club and went floor by floor telling me all the places i wasn't allowed to go as a non-member. Very welcoming! I went to dinner and came back around midnight and had to go 2 rounds of explanation with the guard about where my room was. 10 minutes after getting in to my room, there was a knock on my door. It was a different security guard telling me that there was a noise complaint about my room????? I told the guard that i just got here, opened the door to show that the TV was off and that i was by myself. He didn't care, he said a club member near-by made a noise complaint and that if there was another i'd be kicked out (in the middle of the night). I guess the sounds of me opening my hotel door at night was too much for the stuffy membership. To this day, i have no idea what all this was about. But even at half-rate, not worth the hassle!! read more

Review for the pool only. As a guest at the Inn, I had the pleasure to swim in the Helene Madison pool a couple of times during a recent visit to SEA. This pool is FANTASTIC: 25m in length, 3 wide lanes, clear, clean, chlorine lower than average. It has its own changing room separated from the main one; you don't even need to bring a lock, and it features individual showers, each one with its own changing room. It can get crowded early in the morning, since certain days of the week one lane is occupied by the tri/cycle swim workout 6am-7am. After 7am, however, this is pure bliss, with only a handful of swimmers using the pool. read more

The Washington athletic club is hands down the best athletic club in the state of Washington if not in the Pacific Northwest. Huge indoor swimming pool. Full sized basketball court quite literally fit for the pros. 3 floors dedicated completely to fitness. Steam rooms and saunas o plenty. Lemon juice water on tap everywhere. Conference room and a business center that would bring Donald Trump to his knees. A 5 star 5 diamond hotel on premise--private parking garage for members. World class service and anticipation of member needs at every step. There are also several top notch restaurants, a sports bar and a Spa, a men's barber shop on Shoe shine. If I had my way I would live here--unfortunately life and work in other cities prohibit this although I may attempt to actually live on site someday when I retire. I was fortunate enough to have access to this club through a friends of family membership as youngster and I recently joined under my own steam after having the pleasure of working with Max in guest services. Well, what was I to do? Another woman at the company where I worked knew I was a member of the WAC and pleaded with me to take her there so she could see it. We two single ladies chose a quiet table in the bar area and were approached by two gentlemen. "Hi, girls" (girls?) ...... can we join you and, without our consent, did just that. To make a long story short, we had a delightful time: one of them asked me for my phone number. Hm? Oh, well, do it! Long story short.....we ended up having a marvelous relationship and about a year later we married. We had our wedding and reception at the Washington Athletic Club on January 12, 2013. We initially had this and the Arctic Club Hotel on our list of venues as top two. We walked into the Crystal Ballroom and immediately knew that the WAC was it. Through the entire process of planning, the staff at the WAC was phenomenal! Every time we communicated with them via email, phone or in person we were constantly "wow-ed"! They went above and beyond every single time! I had a cake design that I drew out and they said they had never done one like it but that they would take time to work out the details and make it happen, and they did! The cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted AMAZING! Our menu tasting and selection was divine, everyone is STILL raving about the food! They provided so much! Not only were they a perfect venue for amenities and beauty, but my family flew in the week of the wedding and stayed at a discounted rate in their hotel rooms with zero complaints! The WAC had places for everyone to eat, work out and enjoy themselves, plus it is located in an area where they got to easily walk to the SAM etc. They also had us stay in one of their gorgeous suites for the wedding, which was just incredible! I stayed the night before with the girls, and then just me and my husband the night of the wedding. When we walked into our room that night, they had even left two gifts on the coffee table for us! A beautiful crystal vase, some champaign and champaign glasses! I absolutely NEVER expected that! My mom is gluten free and lactose free, and they made every single accomodation for her and were completely gracious the entire time! The staff was phenomenal the entire event, we even had our own waiter at the head table! I just am floored by how amazing the WAC was. We definetely picked the PERFECT venue. Bottom line- if you are considering having your wedding here....DO! You will never come across a more perfect, gracious, helpful, generous, and beautiful location and staff! We absolutely LOVE the WAC and plan on spending our one year anniversary in one of their suites :) seriously. Hands down THE BEST!!! I'm a fairly new member, for about 6 months at this point. We've loved it so far. We have the base membership, fitness advantage, rent a locker and request laundry services. It's become a second home away from home. For any meetings, we use Torchy's, Torchy's Den, Hagerty's, and the WAC cafe. Your account is integrated and the staff make it a point to customize your experience. Anytime we stop by for a drink, grab food, etc. it's nice to throw it on the account. Of course be responsible for it so you're not shocked when you get your monthly bill. It's just seamless. This is the same for the spa, you have the option to pay it on the spot or add it to your account. We're systematic so we know what to allocate based on monthly services that we integrate into our health and fitness. We love the variety of classes because prior to here, I was looking at a barre, spin,yoga, gym, HIIT style membership. In the end it was the same price if not less. We pick what kind of class we want and tailor our schedule to attend. We've attended a few events and they did a wonderful job with the live music and the several buffets. They decorated the club very well for Jubilee, gowns and tuxes galore. It was an event worth dressing up for, a variety of live bands on each floor, and 4 different buffets. We also attended the Christmas lunch. We don't have family in town and don't necessarily have the home space to host. We did the Christmas buffet and quite honestly for the multiple visits for seafood and dessert, it was totally worth it. I recently held a Middle School graduation event at the WAC and I can say without reservation that this was the best possible venue we could have chosen. Katie (our catering and event) contact was professional, collaborative and anticipated our needs at every step. The staff during the party (including Danny, Tito, and a few others whose names, unfortunately, I can't remember) worked incredibly fast and were friendly and so wonderful to work with. There was another event before ours in the ballroom, and they turned the room in record time, wowing our vendors and setup crew. The food was perfect, the dance floor and table settings were elegant without being stuffy, and the whole vibe was comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to book the space again. I was here while on business and had breakfast with a member of the club. GREAT selections for breakfast and very good service. I had an omelet and was very pleased with how it was cooked and it kept me full well past lunchtime. We waited in the lobby for a bit before the meeting and were able to grab a coffee in their little convenience store located off the lobby. On the way out the doorman was able to quickly hail us a cab and send us on the way to the airport for our journeys home. read more

This is definitely your grandparents' club... while there's nothing wrong with grandparents, there is a time when we should all realize we need a little extra work to be presentable for guests. The WAC is VERY stuffy and there version of "elegance" stems from an era when gold trim was in and what qualified you as a legit venue was how many white collars met here after banking hours. WAC, meet 2009! The world is changing and so are the expectations of your younger clientele. Just a few of the reasons I'm ending my membership with you are: 1) you have carpeting in the gyms that's toxic, traps germs and smells terrible - I visited one of your floors and had to jump back into the elevator because of the odor! 2) You're overprice for what you offer - after being an Exquinox member at 2 of their clubs, it's hard to be okay with this. 3) Your pool (one of the main reasons we joined) is too warm and uncomfortable for competitive swimmers to work out in. Modern luxury is not about Rolex watches and gold elevators, it's about non-toxic materials and handcrafted body products that make you feel like you're doing something gooood for yourself when you go to the gym. read more

I had the tour when I was working for the local billionaires and it did not disappoint; multiple private restaurants for dining high end clients, ballrooms and conference areas, private members-only hotel, a very very nice exercise facility spanning multiple floors, reciprocity to other prestigious institutions around the country, and a staff that knows what they're doing. It's a business and social hub for Seattle millionaires that has everything. Social climbers and new rich should do whatever it takes to get in here and seduce the local bankers, finance gimps, and surgeons that pay the extravagant fees here to work out away from the plebs. The WAC is what the Columbia Tower Club wishes it could be; a real institution for people who don't concern themselves with balancing their accounts; we have people for that. read more

We called to make sure if we were allowed to watch soccer game on a Saturday afternoon with our infant and they said yes. We were there watching when the bar tender said that only member are allowed. We totally respect that, and we were leaving when the man at front desk came to "walk us out", basically to make sure we were leaving the crappy looking bar. This is an insult!! The fault is the bar tender's. For bringing someone to make us leave. We are Microsofters and live in one of the best neighbourhoods in the area. The only reason we walked in is because the game was running and babies were allowed. We spoke to the manager about it, and hopefully no one else will be treated like this anymore. read more

I've been to a few events here and I love that it's walking distance from my office. The facility is well-kept, clean, and overall, a nice place to be. Upon entering the lobby, I always remind myself, okay, let them open the door for you. It's a nice touch but it always makes me feel weird. I've sat in the lobby before, checking emails and such and it's very quiet and the chairs are comfy. Others have mentioned amenities such as the gym (of course), restaurants, rooms, barber, child care center, and gift shop. I've spent all of my time in conference rooms. I like having a self-serve coat rack, which I think is a necessity in Seattle. The layouts are always appropriate in terms of spacing between tables and chairs, food and beverage, and audio/visual needs. Most events I go to have food and beverage service. The last time I was there, we had eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, pastries, and oatmeal. A feast! Also, there were two different kinds of juice, coffee, and tea. The eggs were okay but everything else was good. Staff members worked really hard to ensure everything remained well stocked, cleaned, and really did a great job of clearing our dishes. I think the temperature of the room was a bit off but I think it's a common problem in Seattle. Overall, a nice venue for a meeting, seminar, or as I've seen others post, a bit of a party. read more

I eat here every week at a business group meeting. The food is barley tolerable. I know they're cooking for 100+ at the same time, but it doesn't need to come out void of all moisture, does it? And please stop trying to be so creative with the attempt at gourmet. It would be much better with less ingredients, "creativity" and cooked better. I also go to a business group lunch at Daniels Broiler. They put out 100 steaks perfectly done for the same amount of people, so I know it possible to mass cook and have it turn out good...especially for the price paid per plate. I love this place for a few reasons: -Location: It's right in the business center of downtown Seattle and very easy to get to. I park in my office building so it is very easy for me. -More than just a gym: This place offers all the gym equipment you need (weights, machines, treadmills, personal trainer) but its so much more than a gym. They have a bunch of social events (Father-Son/Mother-Daughter events, boxing events, food events, golf events, etc). It's a great way to network...and everyone, no matter what kind of business your in, can benefit from networking. -Staff: Staff is awesome. By the thrid time I came to the gym, everyone remembered my name. By the 10th time I came to the gym, they remembered my member number. I don't even remember my member number half the time! I've been to a lot of athletic clubs all over the West coast from my travels and this one is at the top of the list. It's expensive but you get what you pay for! read more

Sweat with your neighbor at this multi-level gym that has customer service well beyond your uber ride home from the bars last night. Services includes but not limited to full coffee and tea in the locker rooms, daily laundry service for your gym clothes, hair blowers, hairspray, customized workout routines, hair removal in all areas you didn't know hair grew, weights, basketball court, track, squash, etc. There is also social gatherings that vary from seeing the Book of Mormon to watching the Seahawks play. There is a hotel for those days you need a nap from work but you were caught in your office napping last week. All your holidays are covered with this WAC community! The dining options make it easy to skip that recipe you found on Pinterest. So much to do here that you might want to cancel your Netflix! read more

WARNING: My review is just on the facility (the conference room on the 6th floor, I think, and the garage down the street). I'm not a member! My org hosted an event here recently and had almost 200 attendees. The food and the drinks were just fine and the decor of the room was equally serviceable. The staff here were cordial and helpful in getting everything set up. Nothing extraordinary, but all in all, a good experience. The garage (one block away, on 6th just after Union, on the left side) is easy to get to and charges $7 after 5 PM for the evening. Sold! read more

The place is nice and quiet. The service is good. The workout areas are all clean and nice. I only stayed here at the hotel. I am not a member. I knocked off a star because it's just not really for me. I get annoyed at places where I have to show my room key when walking into the building, etc. Parking is expensive ($37 for valet, $35 for self parking). read more

I use the gyms, pool, restaurants, meeting rooms, barbershop, child-care, and even an overnight room on occasion. It's a good value as well. If you work nearby, like me, this is really convenient.
